    Tofu Teriyaki Bowl
    David O.

First time ordering from here and was very pleasantly surprised. Download the app and ordered online - a very easy process allowing for order customization. I arrived earlier than expected, which caused a minor issue as the counter person was not aware he had to send the order to the cooks, which left me sitting for an extra fifteen minutes. Training issue, which shouldn't happen again. I was very pleased with the amount of spice in my bowl...didn't have to add extra hot sauces (which I often do). Wife enjoyed the tofu - too healthy for me! Convenient location, clean interior, reasonably priced.

    Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Bowl

Ever since Teriyaki Madness opened, it's become our go-to stir fry/Asian food takeaway place. I usually get the spicy teriyaki chicken with fried rice and veggies while my husband gets the same, only non-spicy. The chicken smells and tastes like it was cooked on a grill or over a fire. The spicy chicken has a little bit of spice and I would be interested to see if there is a spicier option. The rice is usually very good too, where you get the individual grains. During our last visit, we must have gotten a bad batch of rice because it was mush, but we don't think that's the norm. Usually, when we order online, the food is ready in about 15 minutes. It's impressive they are this well-oiled so soon after opening (about a month ago). The inside looks clean and is small, so if you're going to order here, get it to go.

Orange Chicken Bowl wife couldn't eat

Waited 35 min for the worst chicken and rice dishes. It stinks because I was so looking forward to this. Got home my order was wrong I was suppose to not have vegetables just white rice. . This has to be the worst cuts of chicken ever fat in every bite. My wife couldn't even eat her orange chicken. Don't waist you time and money here

    Crab rangoon and egg roll

When my husdband and I ordered, we were not expecting to pay $50 for our meals, but, once we got our food, it was worth every penny. We got medium bowl combos...mine was the Steak Teriyaki (spicy) with yakisoba noodles and veggies (pictured) and his was Chicken Teriyaki with veggies and fried rice (I forgot to take a pic if his). With the combo came a side (we chose egg rolls) and a drink. Plus we ordered a 4 piece crab rangoon. They have small, medium, and large bowls. Our medium bowls had enough food for us to get two meals out of them. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! We will be returning!

Sushi is just okay, i've had more quality rolls with a lot of different fillings for the same price. Yakisoba is very good with the yum yum sauce especially the beef which is tender (my family really liked the yakisoba and I assume the hibachi and chahan is probably just as good). The atmosphere: It's a small restaurant best suited for small groups, though there are a few tables that can accommodate larger parties. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to your table. There's also a self-serve drink station, and they provide free water cups that you can refill. The food: We started with the takoyaki and chicken karaage. The takoyaki was good, but fairly standard. The chicken karaage portion was generous, and the pieces were large. The coating was lighter than what I'm used to, which kept the chicken juicy, but it did make it a bit oily. I also wished there was more seasoning in the chicken or batter since I ended up relying on the spicy mayo sauce quite a bit. For my entree, I ordered the pork katsu with rice and tonkotsu sauce. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I also would've preferred a slaw instead of just a few pieces of lettuce. Portions overall were big, and the dishes are definitely shareable. The service: Service was touch-and-go, very much a fast-casual setup.

I went in and looked at the menu. This is what I called a confused restaurant. Menu covered Japanese, Thai, Chinese, and Korean food. I should have known better to never eat at a confused restaurant. Still, too tired to search other restaurants, I went ahead and ordered Gal Bi, out of gazillion different dishes. My thought was how hard is it to screw up Gal Bi. It's such a very simple, easy to make K dish. Nope, I was wrong! No flavor, it's super oily, and because they are not specialized K restaurants, they didnt have bibimbap sauce to alleviate its bland flavors. I only had 2 little ribs and asked to box up the rest. I lost my appetite completely. Yup! That's the size for a $20 dish! Stupid me! I should have walked away once I read the menu.

Before we moved to Williamsburg, we visited the area for vacations, and Thai Tara is alway the first place we go for dinner and the final meal before leaving. We have traveled to Bangkok many times, and from first hand experience can say without exaggerating that the Chicken Sate or Fresh Rolls are as authentic as you might find at the street markets in BKK. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are a treat. The extensive selection of warm Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Penang Curry are outstanding. We often include a hand roll or a selection of Sashimi from the Sushi bar in our orders. Never has the sushi bar prepared anything less than perfect. And if you want a real treat, finish your meal with a Mango Sticky Rice. Although small in size, it's surely is a dessert of the gods. An extensive bar is also on hand at Thai Tara for your favorite hand mixed cocktail, umbrella drink or beer, including Thailand's own Singha, a refreshing lager. Plan to arrive early because this cozy (but not small) place gets very busy, especially on weekends. Parking can be tight. But even in the busiest evenings, service is always prompt, attentive, and with a Thai smile.
