I meant to order a cheesecake for the day before Easter but somehow ordered it for the following week without noticing. I sent my husband to pick it up but of course there was nothing to pick up. This easily is one of the best cannolis I've had, ever. Most of the time I feel like the cannoli is a little imbalanced with the outer shell being too high of a ratio to the inside filling. This had, imo the perfect ratio of filling to shell. The shell was also like REALLY flavorful... and supple. It was so good. My friend brought these cannoli back from Philadelphia to our channukah dinner in the DC area. I'm so so glad she introduced me to them. I will seek them out if I'm in the Philadelphia area. I decided to give Termini Bros another try. This time there was one person in front and she was great. She greeted me immediately and began filling my tray with the goodies I was taking home. When I told her about my previous experience she was apologetic and was concerned that I was treated poorly. As for the baked goods: I liked cannoli was good - delicious the r filing but the shell was bland. The pecan diamond was sublime, and pre-packaged almond/pistachio bars (a sponge with nuts as you enter) was so yummy I didn't want to share. So, I will go back for a service tie-breaker. read more

Outstanding. One of the better bakeries I've ever visited. They pipe the cream into the cannoli when you order it, that way the cream doesn't make the pastry soggy. But don't just order their famous cannoli (for which they're very rightfully well-known). The lobster tails are terrific. The pecan bars are unreal. Everything they have was made that morning, and the pastry is still maintaining its flake. The cream...my dead Lord. The service is always great. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Perhaps the most iconic are their cannolis, freshly baked and hand-piped. Even after nearly 100 years of history and several new locations, Termini has stood the test of time and still feels comfortably charming. A can't-miss red-and-green neon sign hangs from the flagship location on 8th St. Indoors, the large, rectangular room stretches far back. Bright lighting fixtures hang from the polished pressed tin ceilings, and non-slip mats are laid across the black-and-white floors. The whitewashed walls are decked heavily with antique ornaments, Termini family photos, Philadelphia memorabilia, and holiday-themed decorations. Customers make a U through the tastefully old-school, wood-and-glass bakery displays. The confections lineup spans from cookies and pastries to whole decorated cakes. The center island is stocked with stainless steel trays, each lined with countless empty cannoli shells. I arrived right before closing on a weekday, and Termini still had a steady trickle of customers. I ordered a Ricotta Cannoli and a Chocolate Cannoli, and the mostly disinterested staff member ran to the back and efficiently piped them to order. Both cannolis were relatively large, boasting a perfectly crispy shell and a healthy dusting of powdered sugar. The generously rich ricotta filling was as decadent as the best gelato I could imagine. I would probably opt for a chocolate dip on the shell and a heavier hand on the mixed-in chocolate chips, but neither detracted from this classic cannoli being among the best I've ever eaten. Meanwhile, the chocolate-filled variety was oddly neither ricotta nor chocolate; rather, it seemed to serve as a neutral option for the staunchly anti-ricotta camp. Between the two, the ricotta filling was an easy favorite. The cannolis run $6 each, and I was in and out of the bakery in a matter of minutes. Termini's traditional ricotta cannolis can outcompete the dessert menu at most sit-down restaurants, and these decadent pastries remain one of my favorite sweets -- well worth the hike to South Philly. read more

I ordered a ricotta pie, which arrived thawed with a mere 3x5 gel bag to keep it cold but the bag was at room temperature as was the pie. When I called Termini to express concern and to report that this was unhealthy -- i.e., it made for an ideal environment for bacterial growth. Bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, and E. coli thrive in these conditions. Heather at Termini was unconcerned and her only response was to offer a refund. MY CONCERN was not the money but the lack of safety in shipping this perishable food item. When I insisted it was unhealthy, she disconnected the call. read more

Philly is my hometown, and I have known Termini Bros for a long time. I usually go to their Reading Terminal location, but this time decided to go to the original location. The store itself is so appealing with memorabilia from the olden days. The service at this location is more friendly, whereas the Reading Terminal location is a bit gruff. You can find a street parking near the original location so it was not a big issue. I usually go to get cannolis, seriously, I think their cannolis are the best. As we were full from lunch, we shared one original cannoli. Hands down best cannoli I've had in Philly. Although quite pricy at $6, it was so good. The filling was really soft and creamy, almost like a light whip. I found myself fiending for more after one bite. There wasn't a ton of chocolate chips, which I actually preferred. There was also some fruits I think inside which gave it some textural contrast. The shell had just the right amount of crunch and a slight hint of almond. [1030] 11/2019 I visited the Reading Terminal Market location a ton of times and really liked their baked goods I had company from out of town so decided to check out this location. I'm so glad I did as everything about my visit was amazing. Tons of parking in their huge lot next door. This is huge as this location is located in a "I wish I had a driveway" location. Otherwise I'm not sure if we could visit. Arrived 30 min before closing and you couldn't tell as it we never felt rushed. The staff even took us to the back baking area so my son could fill a cannoli. As an avid baker I was in heaven. It was cool to see the backroom and all the tools and supplies. We picked up a ton of items such as mini cakes, cannolis, cupcakes, chocolate bananas .. just to name a few. Everything was amazing that my cousin stopped in again the next day to bring home goodies to her family in NH.
