TLDR: SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND LOOK ELSEWHERE! I signed up with Terminix to manage a mouse issue. I paid $2k plus to have an exclusion done to my home, which was improperly done the first time and had to be done a second time. You will never have the same tech twice. One of the techs who came to my home reeked of cigarettes, was condescending to me, and frankly, scared me. Another, thought he had a "dumb housewife" on his hands and showed me photos of someone else's attic and then tried to scare me into signing a contract for a $7k job. Many times, the techs just don't even show up. The Terminix website will show an arrival window of two hours, but when your tech doesn't show within those two hours and you call the customer service, they tell you the window was FOUR hours. And then they don't show up anyway. Needless to say, I'm nearly a year out and I STILL HAVE A MOUSE PROBLEM. read more

It's not just "not good". The service and the support is non existent. I paid for wildlife and exclusion service. I repeatedly called to complain that the technicians were walking around the house 20 feet out and saying there are no access points. Since then I have repeatedly had mice and now bats. Their solution is to put mice traps everywhere but they do not properly resolve the problem of achess even though I have paid for the annual service. I've had two technicians come out that were to go back and determine what would occur to resolve and nothing. Everytime I call and speak to Terminex on phone they say the problem has been escalated but not one, no manager has called after 15 calls to terminex. I had a technician out on 12-18, 2-22 and now they want to send another. read more

If they'd asked only one was real. Two pellet and two kits/models. Mean while we're getting eaten up because I don't have another 1350.00 to spend. While their sales rep was kind and responsive, I had further challenges That I needed answers to and the customer service manager yelled at me, told me I was rude for offering to send more pics to help him answer me and HUNG UP ON ME. I called the regional Manager several times and no one will return my call. I truly hope the calls were recorded as I've never been so insulted. Problem never was fixed. Super super frustrating last 48 hour posts Terminix estimate.... I called them for rodent control; they came out (super quick and on time-1star). They did a full assessment of the house from basement to attic. When finished with the attic, the rep came down and stressed how horrible to mold and insulation in the attic was. I am expecting my first child any day so this was super shocking to me. He stressed that this problem was very bad and needs to get fixed; mold removed, insulation repaired, and essentially the attic restored. This was going to cost $7,200. On top of this, it would cost another $4,000 for rodent control. (At this point who even cares about the rodents right? Well-I do. But the black mold talk scared me worse).... I ended up calling the insurance company-they were completely lost at what Terminix was talking about. So now I have a company who makes money off moldy attics saying our attic needs to be repaired, and an insurance company who doesn't want to pay saying that the problem isn't that bad.... so I went on to hire a "mold hygienist," as well as a fourth opinion of an attic restoration company who specializes in all this.... both of them said the mold was not active, and did not need to be restored. I ended up having them spray anyways just to prevent anything.... Moral of this long story.... I wouldn't trust this company's assessment. The stress I endured the last 48 hours while waiting for this end result was horrible. I was ready to pack up and move out and was fearful for my newborn's health. The fact that a hygienist saw no problems, and another who could benefit from a mold problem, also didn't see a problem, along with a claims adjuster.... I saved a lot of money. Feel free to message me for my hygienist if needed! He was $275 but clearly saved me. TWICE were no call/no show - the last go round last week was another no call/no show & the supervisor was left voicemails Thursday & Friday to call back because we NEEDED that treatment for this apartment. Wow, is all I can say. Was referred to Terminix for our commercial property and was put through a long process over the phone JUST to have someone come quote us. Was told an "inspector" would be out the following Wednesday(a week from initial call), but person never showed. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told they are showing an inspection scheduled, but for some reason it was cancelled. They told me they would have someone rescheduled to visit. Long story short, it's been 3 weeks, and no one ever showed up nor called. If this is how potential new commercial clients are treated, you guys are in serious trouble. :( read more

Today we cancelled with terminix. We've asked numerous times to try to find the source of our ants and other bugs, they come out, spray and leave. I've called, I've complained, I've asked them not to send the same rep out, as the rep wasn't even ATTEMPTING to try to find the source of anything. They send the same rep out. Do yourselves a favor and don't use them. They don't care. I'm exhausted from dealing with them. Their customer service is BEYOND terrible, they do not understand ANYTHING. I will NEVER recommend Terminix to anyone I know. I just moved into my house a year ago and they made this whole experience terrible for me. I could go outside and spray around my house. When we called to cancel, their response was "you could have called us out more often".... Well Terminix after telling you folks 50 times to find the SOURCE of our issues and you not caring- didn't feel the need to have you to come out, disrupt our lives for what we could do ourselves. If you have a pest control issue, I do not have a company I can recommend. However I am confident regarding who I would not let near my home and that is Terminix. We signed a contract with their salesmen Scott from the Naperville branch in June of 2022. We paid in full at this time and we're assured our home entry points would be sealed off, inside cleaned, insulation removed and reinstalled upon mice termination in a two month period of time. It is December 2022 and we continue to find new droppings in our crawl space and basement. Both my husband and myself have called and texted this branch manager Michael Allen countless times with either no response or a response promising us a tech is coming and no one shows up or show up when it's pitch black outside to rectify the issue. Michael "finished" the work on our home and personally assured us in October of 2022 after he reinstalled insulation that the mice issue was completely fixed after four months of working on our home. This fix lasted from October 24th, 2022 to December 6th, 2022 when I found new droppings in our basement. Since this date we have called their customer service line 10+ time hoping for a call from a regional manager to escalate the issue which has yet to come. We've asked to switch branches as we're having a terrible time communicating with Naperville manager Mike and their branch is unable to correctly and fully complete the job, no response. They took $3000+ form us in June of 2022 in full for this job that they have failed to complete properly for six months now. Find any other pest control team but if you value guaranteed work, professional and timely communication and prompt turn around time to service requests, Terminix is simply not the company for you. This is simply the gist of our troubles with them, if I were to detail the deception, the unprofessionalism and utter incompetence in full, it would simply take too long. If you are in need of pest control services, stay far away from Terminix, especially this branch! I had quarterly pest control service through Terminix and the service was completed on August 25, 2020. On Monday, August 31, 2020, I contacted Geneva via text message at Terminix to request an extra service due to discovering ants. An extra service is considered a free service in between regular quarterly services in case you encounter any additional pests. It's essentially a Terminix pest free guarantee. Geneva expressed that she could move my next regular quarterly service scheduled for September 19, 2020 to Wednesday, September 2, 2020. I told her I wasn't interested in being charged for a regular service at this time and would like an extra service. She stated that wouldn't be an issue and she would send a scheduling request to the local office. The local office didn't call me until approximately September 4, 2020 and told me they could schedule someone to come out for my extra service on September 8, 2020. I confirmed that this service was considered an extra service and not a new quarterly service. She told me yes. Fast forward to a few weeks after the service is complete, I receive a bill for $124 for a quarterly service. I called to inquire and was told that per their agreement, if a service is completed within 14 days of the original quarterly service date, it's not considered n extra service. This is not what I was told over the phone and I expressed clearly via Terminix's text messaging system or from the local office. I have been paying for almost a year for a service that has not been completed with minimal phone calls and conversations with anyone in management. I have called and emailed multiple people about the situation and it still has not been resolved. They came out and sold me on an exterior protection package sealing off the house from wildlife and blown in insulation and the only thing that's been done is the insulation and the flashing for the siding. The last time I talked to someone who said they were a manager was over a month ago. Now we have something In the attic and bees in the exterior walls. We hired them to help mitigate a mice issue in our basement. They charged over $2000 and were at our house for just over one hour. Did not repair and seal all ingress and egress points. Manager and Terminix would not speak with us about competing the full job as quoted or look to charge a fair wage for the 1 hour onsite. Company and this location are both a total fraud. The website says 24/7 service but when you call, even during business hours, if they cannot connect you with a representative, then they tell you to call back later or to leave a phone number for a call back. They may call back when you are in a meeting, and so ongoing telephone tag. There seems to be no way to send an email or leave a voice message. I have had a simple question to ask and still cannot through. Thus, 1 star for being available. read more

I would never recommend Terminix. We hired them for pest control of mice. The salesman said that they would send a "crew" and it would take at least 2 days to complete. The cost was $1900+. They sent one technician that was there 1 hour 20 minutes. There is no way that this could be completed correctly in that time. I called the salesman and he said he would need to check it out and call me back, he never did. I've called their 800# multiple times and it ALWAYS says that all their people are busy and I can either have them call me back when available or I should call back at a later time. I have requested that they call me back and they have not. I've also sent emails to their customer service and no one has responded. This is TOTALLY unacceptable. I feel like we were scammed. It's been touch and go with this office, it took them a while (with the assistance of my cat) to rid my house of three field mice. I think I paid too much for what I got but I'm glad that the mice are finally gone (I hope). As for the techs who came by, those guys were great! They did everything they could to figure out how those field mice were getting in the house. Every time I called, they came to address the issue. They were professional and thorough. Good experience with Terminex! I was very impressed that the estimate and the job was all done in the same day! My only question/issue was... Did I get a fair price??? Ken promptly came out and was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave me the total price.... Which, in hindsight, I believe was way too high to pay for what the guys did, but I needed rid of these termites! Rob, Jimmy & the crew promptly came to my home the very same day. They were very professional and explained what was being done. Nice guys! Overall great experience! Now just waiting... Time will tell if these termites are 100% officially gone! I would rate them as a zero if I could!!!! Terminix came to up sell me on more services and while he was doing his free inspection he put a hole in my ceiling from the attic. I was at work I got a call saying they are responsible and for me to get a repairman to repair it and THEY WILL PAY HIM. I did so and 2 months later the repairman says he's never been paid and will put a lean on my house since I called him. I've contested the bill with the credit card company and to this day he was never paid by Terminix. I've paid him and now they are sending me a bill for the amount I contested from the credit card company! NEVER LET THEM TELL YOU TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND THEY WILL PAY! I had pest control service since May 2018. I had no problem until this year. I called in to cancel service due to planned moving in Feb 2020. The technician called me back and convinced me that my original service contract would be ended in the end of May if I pay one more payment, and will have a March service and last service right before my moving out in the end of May. I was so surprised to receive a bill in June! With knowing my moving out and the technician actually trapped me for one more bill because as they said the last service was totally extra and started new contract! What a liar! Literally the worst service i have ever had. This is pike the Walmart of pest control. While the staff was very professional. The products are very dangerous and on top of that they aren't even effective. I switched to a different company and they seem to be handling the situation much better and it is even safe for my kids pets and my plants! Terrible company! The service guy came out in February when we had around 3 feet of snow outside so I told him he can just spray the basement for spiders. He went out to get his equipment & the next thing I know, he's in our backyard spraying! We just installed a brand new $5,000 fence & I didn't get how he got back there with 3 ft of snow against both sides of the fence. Turns out he hopped the gate, broke the boards & now it's lop sided and won't open!! We called to complain & get a refund. Instead they sent the same service guy out to fix the fence, even though I didn't want an unqualified guy touching it. Then they charged us for his visit again & of course the fence is still broken!!!! Spoke to the manager today & he refused to waive what's due! Beware if you take the financing option. I took the 3 year exclusion plan. Financed it through the company to take advantage of the 90-day interest free -- big mistake. When I realized just how oversold I was on the service (shame on me) I tried to cancel and get the prorated portion of the contract back, which is shown on their website as an option. The absolute WORST customer service I have ever received. They did not show up for an inspection and never called to tell us why or to reschedule. When I called to speak with someone, I was redirected to the Philippines and they would not direct me back to someone in the US. When I finally rescheduled, they told me they would call me 30 minutes before they came and they never did. They left a note on my door saying they missed me. Our first appointment was back in December, but they did not complete insulation or garage repairs. Under no circumstances would I ever use Terminix again. We called them due to holes in our back yard. In all, 7 different technicians visited our house and we never got an explanation for the holes. Each was going to "get with my manager and call you back". No one has ever called us. The first technician insisted what we had were moles, and set us up for mole treatment to the tune of $150. There were several visits in order to treat the mole problem, which never went away. Each time a technician arrived, he had no idea why he was here, had no mole treatment material on his truck, had to come back later to treat, etc. Each visit was more confusing than the previous. Several technicians felt we did not have moles, but went ahead and treated anyway. Now we are in the process of attempting to get our $150 back, as the problem has not been solved and the last technician said "whatever you have here, it isn't moles", took pictures and said he'd meet with his manager and get back to us. Of course, he never did. Every time we have talked to Terminix it has been because we have called. They have NEVER called us. We've spoken with three people in the office in an attempt to cancel the service and get a refund and each has said "we will take it up with the manager" and get back to us; of course they never have. Interestingly enough each person who isn't able to correct the problem has agreed with us completely; "yes, you shouldn't have to pay", etc, but they are unable to do anything accept sympathize. Horrible service, if that's even what you call it. We contacted Terminix to assist with a Mole problem we were having in our backyard. Due to their trails originating under our kids playset, we decided it was best to leave treatment to the professionals, rather than remedy the situation ourselves. The Terminix sales person sold us on a combo treatment of moles and bugs for $299. We have never had a bug problem, but the price seemed right for both, so why not. Terminix quickly came out to spray our house, but no showed twice for the mole treatment. The third time was almost a no show, but they had someone run out after a call to them again asking where they were at. Four days later, worried the moles were getting worse, we contacted the sales guy to upgrade our mole treatment service to a $600 plan. He never returned our calls. We contacted corporate to put our request through them. A local "manager" called us a day later saying someone would be out to discuss the upgrade, no one showed. We called corporate twice again for the upgrade. We were told someone would contact us, both times they never did. To add to this, we were told Terminix would monitor the boxes for the moles every 2 weeks, yet no one ever came. Six weeks later, and still no one came. We called corporate to have the boxes removed. No apologies, no promise to improve service, no partial refund. Again, Terminix did not come as promised to remove the boxes. It took 2 more calls to have the boxes finally removed. Since the first call they did very bad, I requested a service and had no instructions for the first visit and when I called again I found out that there was no visit scheduled. Paid for one service and received another thing. The bugs weren't going away and after MANY calls someone really helpful on the phone told me that the service was wrong and that I should have someone inspecting the house in the first place to figure out what kind bug it was. After inspection, had a second service done, the bugs did not go away AGAIN and it's impossible to reach out to them to schedule a service. Since a month had not passed yet at the time, I called them to cancel and have the MONEY BACK GUARANTEED as they advertise on the phone and their website, what a pain, since June I'm trying to cancel my service and have my money back. Today I got a call from the technician to schedule my service on Friday, however, this was supposed to be cancelled a while back. SO FRUSTRATING. All of that after HOURS on the phone, the last one with the branch manager who told us that he was giving us the money back and closing out the account. Hello, I have been ignored, on the receiving end of atrocious customer service, and victim of poor service in general from your company since January 2018. From the moment I called your company to help with a rodent problem. Your salesman lied to me about the extinction program. Saying it was a three year program when i come to find out months later it is one year with 2 year of add on service if you want. Then he over charged me and added attic insulation to my bill which I never ordered. On top of that, he never gave me a contract. He forgot and never came back to give it to me or email me it when he said he would. Then when I caught on to the gross over payment. I spent days trying to fix it. The problem was that he put my account under a wrong name. NO ONE could find me! Also, he lied and said there was a payment plan through a company that works like the Best Buy credit card. You can apply for it and get 0% interest for a year to make payments. Turns out that was a lie too because it is only for the first three months and then heavy interest after. Salesman finally calls me and says he need to make a new contract and get it signed so he can fix the payment and the account problem. We made a date and time for him to come by. He asked ME to call and remind HIM to come over. Guess what?? HE never showed. I still have no contract from your company The first appointment two kids come over and spend 15min looking around and put 1 "trap" in the basement. They said they would be back one month later to check. I was told they would clean up rodent feces so when they come back they could tell if something is new. The service guys said they do not do that. Just another thing the salesman lied about. One month later, no one comes. So, I make the first of many, many call. I have spent the better part of 10 months on phones calls to schedule appointments which no one ever comes out. Each call would take a long time due to the company trying to find my account since it was under a wrong name/address. Each time the person would say they are unable to fix it, but able to schedule appointments. NO ONE WOULD EVER SHOW UP. When I would call back, no one ever knew or could find that an appointment was made. Finally, in October of 2018 some one showed up to put 1 "trap" down in my basement again. This lady promised she would be my exclusive contact from here on out and would be back in 1 month. Guess what, no one came. I finally had enough and wanted my service cancelled and a full refund. The service manager at the Aurora, IL location, KIM, told me I could not get one. When I told her my story she said that she would review my account and personally visit my home to verify what service I have been given to see if possibly I could get a refund. Guess what???? On the day she was to come by, she was a NO SHOW. I tried calling once a week for three weeks and no answer or reply to my messages. Also, I asked her TWICE for a copy of my contract. Both times, she said she would. I am still waiting for that contract 4 months later. I then was upgraded to talking to the branch Manager STEVE. He would tell me he is working on it with his boss because he is the only one that could authorize a refund. I was told only the 2 year extension could be refunded and that if I wanted the first year ANDREW, regional director, would have to approve. STEVE waited 3.5 weeks to finally review my case with ANDREW ONLY because I kept calling him. Finally he did, and guess what??? STEVE never called me back to let me know any updates. I called him and he tried to apologize for not following up with my case with his boss. Steve was "busy" and could not find time to ask his boss for an answer. I then tried for 3 weeks to contact ANDREW. Voicemails and emails sent on my behalf from the company. I could not call ANDREW directly because it is not protocol and he does not have an office number, only a cell number. The dispatcher each time would tell me that within 24-48 hours someone should contact me. NO ONE EVER CONTACTS ME. I get a call from Steve one time and my phone rings TWICE. I answer and he hangs up. In his note, he claims no answer and no voicemail available to leave message. Today, I got off the phone with another dispatcher who now has copied the Division Director Scott Vurris. Guess what?? I get to wait another 24-48 hours to see if anyone call me back. Is this how you treat customers? Is this how you treat people? I have gotten no respect, service or acknowledgment from the beginning. Instead, I have been lied to, over charged, ignored, and 2 traps placed in 1 year. You have cancelled my service in November 2018 like I requested, but no refund for the entire payment. YOU have offered $189 for the extension years. I paid $1560!!! NO ONE CARES at this place. NO ONE does what they say they will do. Its manipulation and deceit.
