Terrible communication. Constant appointment changes with no notice. Continuously have escalated and begged to cancel my services but they keep telling me someone will be out, and no one shows. Branch manager at the Lansing office is useless. Never calls like they say he will. Never sends an apology. Better off to go with someone local. read more

I contacted terminix after catching a skunk on security cameras, scheduled an inspection and was told I was all set. At 7:15 p.m- I received a phone call from an unknown number. I didn't answer. Five minutes later, the same number called and it was once again ignored. Then, this text from the same number: "Charlie with Terminix. Calling about inspection. Can't leave you a message. Your voicemail box is full. Or maybe you want to answer my call?" ... Thank you Charlie, you may have not been able to remove the skunk currently in my yard.... but you sure did prevent an even bigger piece of sh*t from setting foot on it. read more

Horrible service and communication. Original service scheduled 12/3 and was cancelled and rescheduled without letting us know & took several calls to get that information. Rescheduled service appointment for today 12/6/21 didn't happen either. Inspector missed 4 hour appointment window. The inspector finally called (after we called the center several times to get an ETA) and stated we weren't even on their listen/route for today. We went with another local service that is VA-compliant and will NOT be recommending Lansing, MI branch or any Terminix service in future. read more

Initially things were going well. We just had service to keep down spiders and other little critters. Well for the last almost six months I've had wasps getting into my upstairs. I called for an extra service and on 2 occasions no one showed up. When I called and asked about it they would say they would look into it and have someone give me a call, on MULTIPLE occasions I never received a call back or my additional service. Not only did they not show for the additional service but they also completely stopped showing for my regular scheduled service as well! I called multiple times to try and get just my regular service done and again no one would return my call! They have essentially stole my money for 6 months. Finally I decided to cancel and told them I needed a refund since no service has been rendered in so long and he said someone would give me a call about it ... yea again never happened. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are unreliable, liars and thieves. read more

Beware of this company. If you have a problem they will not help resolve it. We had an account credit from pre-pay, and they didn't show up for months. The new guy said they had troubles at the office. I have been charged for interior and exterior service for over a year and they have taken care of the interior once. I asked for an adjustment and they refused. I told them about the service gap, and they did not acknowledge it, nor apologize. So I canceled their service. read more

Terminix is by far the worst company I have dealt with in years. To begin with they instructed my 80 year old grandma to empty everything in her kitchen prior to the 8am appt. everything out of all cupboards. Food, dishes, everything. So we did. And then the tech never showed up. After being on the phone 2 hours I finally got an answer and my apt rescheduled. Their reason was that managers had split up techs appointments and forgot to tell me. Fast forward 6weeks, terminix takes out an unatuthorized payment from my account. I call that day and explain that my service co tract was quarterly and it had only been 6 weeks so they made an error in charging me. They agreed and stated my refund would be processed in 3-5 business days. I waited and still no refund. So I called again. They told me the same thing. So I waited again. Still no refund. After a third call (each one being no less than 40 minutes of hold time) I was told the same thing for a 3rd time. I spoke with a manger and was assured that my refund would be processed. I am still waiting.....never hire terminix. They robbed me of $99 bucks that wasn't even theirs to take in the first place and I still haven't seen my money back. Zero stars! Terminix has lost my business, and I will be discouraging anyone I know from using their services. The last trip to the house, I heard the technician pull in the drive; he rang the doorbell but was already pulling away in his truck by the time I got to the door. I had no idea he was even coming that day (so much for scheduling), and then he didn't even do a treatment. Yet my card was still billed $129? I tried to call and find out why, and couldn't even get the number for the Lansing location. I could only get the main 800 number for Terminix corporate. After a long process of wading through automated menus, I was finally connected to a real human. I was then transferred to the local office. After a discusdion with their branch manager, I was told that I would be refunded the $129, and my account cancelled, and would receive email confirmation. I didn't receive an email until the next day, and it was only a duplicate copy of the last visit details. It is now a month later. Still no refund. I called again today, and spoke with a woman in their 'customer service' department. She was able to confirm the account cancellation just 3 days ago. It took that long to cancel? And there was no record of an approved refund. She "checked on it" for me, but was "unable to reach the branch manager". She put in a request for a refund, telling me it would take 1-2 days to reach the branch. They would then determine if approved. Really????? The same manager who already told me a month ago that she was sending the refund request to corporate? $129 isn't the problem; it is the principle involved. Terrible business ethic. I will be pursuing this simply because I know it must have happened to others based on the few negative reviews I have seen. Beware of this crooked outfit - they will double talk and pass the buck between branch and corporate knowing most give up on them. I, however, will not. EDIT: Still no results. Was finally informed would be getting refund. 3 weeks later, no check yet. Called to find out why, and because they had cancelled my account it "wasn't showing up in their system". Then the girl asked me if I had checked my mailbox!!!! Seriously? I empty the mailbox daily, sweetie. It's not there. Now being told they will work on it. Pathetic! Edit: Refund came 3 months after it was approved. I lost count of the number of phone calls it took. I cancelled my card just to be sure they couldn't bill me in case they hadn't actually cancelled the account. Good riddance! read more

Charlie Spaniolo from the Lansing Terminex office came out to look at a "situation" at one of our rental properties today. He arrived on time (after a call to say he was on his way). Charlie was very pleasant and professional. He assessed our situation and recommended that no treatment is needed at this time. He shared a lot of information, but there was absolutely no pressure to buy or sign up for anything. My husband and I were very appreciative of the time Charlie spent with us, and we will certainly call on him if we ever do have a need for pest control. I would definitely recommend him if you're looking for a creature consultation! read more

I use Terminix for both of my homes, Michigan and Califonia. Always professional and knowledgeable. Services I use include termite protection and the routine bug spray. They have always contacted me by email at least a week prior to the service dates and have called me when weather conditions delayed their arrival. In California, I tried two other pest services and they routinely failed to complete the tasks as assigned. I have not had an issue with Terminix that would require my working with the office staff or management. That is saying a lot when working with todays service industry in general. read more

Horrible service and absolutely NO communication between corporate sales department and local branch. Signed up for Mosquito treatment and provided credit card information prior to appointment (a requirement for service). Blocked off time for first appointment and no show or call, had to phone corporate (can't contact local branch directly) the next day, and got bounced around for ten minutes before being assured technician would call and blocked another timeframe for two days later and another no show. Called back to make sure credit card and account information was cancelled and they show no records of any calls and act like its the first time I have contacted them. Was desperate for help with the mosquitoes and thankfully have gone with another more reputable company. read more

I have had a terrible experience with this company and the Lansing office. I contracted for mole removal. They set traps and said they would check every 2-3 days and no one came until I called 4 weeks later. I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to talk to a management person about my complaint. After numerous calls and finally calling the corporate office no one has called me. The last visit they made at my house they must have found a mole in a trap as they left the stinking, rotting mole carcass in my yard and I had to bury it. I would never recommend this company. read more

The initial contact was good. The company representative explained to me that they charge a flat fee for trapping for 7 days. No additional charges for removing any animals that are caught, no refunds if animals are not caught. The two guys who came out to set the traps on the first day were very nice, thorough and answered all my questions. But, one thing that struck me on that first day was that they brought one trap and they did not place it in the backyard by the shed which was our biggest area of concern (and was also where our dogs got sprayed by a skunk twice). They said they would come back the next day and set more, they just didn't have enough skunk traps with them. I thought that was odd considering they knew they were coming to my house to trap skunks. They did return the next day and set a second trap. A few days passed and nothing was caught. Then on a Friday morning, I watched the Molemen/Terminex truck pull up in our driveway (we live in a duplex) -- the guy got out, went to my neighbor's backyard, then got in his truck and left. So, I called office because I was pretty sure there was something caught in the trap in our backyard (he didn't seem puzzled by the lack of traps to check in my neighbor's yard?!?). This set off the most ridiculous customer service experience I have ever had in my life. The number provided to me by the local office went to a national call center. The national call center would not give me the direct number to the local office. I explained to them what happened and they said they would contact the office and send somebody back to our house. Two hours later, my phone call was not returned and, no one returned to the house. I called again. This time, I sat on hold for a half an hour waiting to speak to a "Specialist." I was assured again the office would be contacted and someone would be sent out. After 4 more hours of no return phone calls and no one returned to the house, I called again. And again, I sat on hold and waited to speak with a Specialist. Once again, the Specialist could not reach anyone in the office but assured me the problem would be taken care of. I left for work and my husband came home from work not realizing Terminix never actually came back (as one would have expected in the nine hours that had passed), and let the dogs out in the backyard. There was a raccoon in the cage that has been there all day and the dogs went went crazy and cut their faces up trying to get at the raccoon in the cage. Their mouths and and noses were bleeding so bad we had to take them to the emergency vet. In the meantime, I had to leave work (so I could help my husband take our big, bleeding dogs to the vet) and called Terminix again on my way home. This time, I sat on hold for nearly an hour to speak to a Specialist again. When someone finally answered it was exactly when we were taking the dogs into the emergency vet. No one ever called back and no one ever came out. The next morning, Saturday, more than 24 hours after my first call, the raccoon was still in the trap in the backyard. I called Terminix again. With the same predictable results that I had become accustomed to by this point. Another half an hour hold, another Specialist promising me that the problem would be taken care of. Shortly after that phone call, a Terminix man did show up, but he was just making the daily rounds. I stormed into the backyard and unloaded about all that had happened, and he had no idea about any of it. He stated the office had never been contacted and he knew nothing about it. He said the 1-800 number was completely worthless and wanted to know why I didn't call the office direct. I explained to him I was not given a direct number and that the national call center wouldn't give it to me. He apologized and gave me the direct number. Then he shut the remaining trap, saying that no one would be out to check them on Sunday. I said to him that we were promised trapping for 7 days. And he said they would trap for 7 days, even if it took longer than the actual 7 consecutive days. So the first day we were short a trap, Friday the trap wasn't checked, Saturday and Sunday the remaining trap wasn't set. Wednesday morning, the traps were gone. All in all, Molemen trapped for five days (of which at least one day they were one trap short). The traps weren't set for 7 days (as promised), no skunk was caught, and I never once received any follow up from Molemen/Terminix, their local manager or the regional manager (all who were supposedly contacted). It's hard to say if this horrible experience was caused by the local office or the national office but either way, they did a terrible job and and we were out $299 for literally nothing. I would never, ever, ever recommend their services to anyone. read more

I signed up for a year-long contract last fall to trap moles in my yard, prepaid of course. Mole traps are supposed to be moved frequently to actually trap the moles because moles are tricky. At first it seemed fine, the traps were placed and moved the next week. Then the problems started. I pretty much had to call every few weeks to get them to come out to move the traps which had been set off by mowing, once by a mole, and to move the traps to where the moles were damaging the yard. Every time I called, Terminix/Mole Man wanted to schedule my "termite" service and I constantly had to explain that I had mole service. Sometimes people came out and just walked around the yard without moving any traps. This spring nobody came until I called again, 6 weeks after mole problems started in this area and it took another 10 days before they placed traps. The traps weren't placed where fresh mole activity was going on. Two months later I called again, and customer service said they would call me back to schedule an appointment for service. Don't use this company for mole removal as it is a complete waste of money. read more
