This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. There is no way to speak to a person from my local branch. They take messages and no one ever responds. I paid a great deal of money for an exclusion contract. We have a rat problem and it was several weeks before someone responded to bmy request to come here. And that was only after I cancelled my regular pest control. The person left a message telling me they are short staffed and could come thisWednesday. Meanwhile, through the central number I had scheduled an appointment for yesterday. No one came. When I called they said I had an appointment scheduled for next week. This has been a consistent failure in service. I called and schedule an appointment for an inspector to come to see where we could patch holes, etc. Twice the inspector advised he would not be in the area so he needed to reschedule. If we made an APPOINTMENT, the purpose is for you to be in the area at the appointed time. Second instance, I called and spoke with customer service and made an appointment for a specific day and time frame. The person came 3 weeks early, left a note that no one was there for the appointment. They kept texting new times and dates without a conversation and when the day came for the actual appointment no one showed up. We rescheduled and were given a time frame- the person came 40 minutes early and I was working and not available...instead of doing the outside first the technician cancelled. The STRESS and FRUSTRATION is not worth it. I have cleared out closets and moved furniture around for service not to be provided. read more

Terminix repeatedly failed to show up for scheduled rodent-exclusion service appointments (a service for which they charge ~$1500), and repeatedly attempted to show up when not scheduled, for instance at 8am on a Saturday weeks after the scheduled appointment. They also charge me about $180 every few months to spray around the base of the home against insects/spiders which aren't found here, and fail to repel insects and rodents that are actually a problem (ants, ladybugs, other beetles). The technicians are perfectly nice, but the service altogether is very poor. read more

.First 12 years as a customer was great then this whole thing. 4 times there was a scheduled appointment for inspection of the termite traps. 4 times no show. Sept 17,no show rescheduled for the 20th, no show . Talked with India and said I wanted a refund for no work done. She said it was being processed. She then said they wanted to do an inspection to make me happy . I said only if it didn't ruin the refund. She assured me it wouldn't. She id she was putting th most reliable tech on it so it would happen. Oct 7th came and again a no show. On the 24th osf se[tember O spoke with an Alex and he said the refund was being looked into. I made an appointment three days ago and confirmed the appointment. I took time off from work and had my home prepared to be easily accessible, but to my dismay, no one came. I called customer service twice, and they told me they sent the inspector a message and that I should hear from them very soon. I have been unable to schedule appointments to handle a carpenter bee pest problem. The national line refused to make appointments, and it is difficult, if not impossible, to reach the local representative. In fact, the national office failed to send a notice to the local representative despite promising twice. The local representative found out about my issue after I submitted a negative review to the company and sent someone out supposedly to address the problem, but the service person told me that the chemical he was using was not the right chemical for carpenter bees. The local representative has not returned my texts about the problem. We are now infested. Do not use Terminix. Not sure what is happening here but they do not ever return your calls for appointment requests which of course makes things worse. I incredibly regret signing up for annual services for rodents and pests. They performed an exclusion for rodents which seemed to work for a time but then when it stopped working and the mice are back, clearly they do not care to return as they already have your money and won't get more since it's an annual fee. Complete nightmare and I plan to research how to escalate these complaints as the business needs to improve its operations. This is THE worst company in pest control! The central office promises the local guy will show up, but he never does. You are given a 2 hour window each day they promise you they are coming. We waited on four different days and they never showed. They also promise they will text when they are on the way - it never happens. Once I got a text two hours an after a no show on Wednesday with no reason why he didn't show, but washing he'd be there Friday. I texted right back to confirm we'd see him Friday. No response. The central office told us to expect him between 10 and noon Friday. He never showed and never texted. His excuse when challenged was that he didn't hear back from me soon enough so he took me off his schedule. (I responded within a half hour on Wednesday evening after his third no-show to confirm we'd see him Friday). The central office makes promises and excused and lies to you about the local guy coming out but there is no coordination or communication between them or with the customer. I bought tick protection where they will come out and spray and if problems they will come out again. The first man took a lot of time to spray but we were still plaged with ticks. The second guy "said" he sprayed the entire 2 acres in less than 2 minutes. Several days later, while working in the front yard, I found three ticks attached to me and a number more in the coming day. All these were near our house. So I called Terminix. The first lady who answered was very nice and when I asked to speak to a supervisor of our service area office she said she left a message with that area manager - no one called. The second time I called I asked for a supervisor who was above our area office and asked for another spraying. We stayed home on the day that they were suppose to spray but no one came and no one called to say the spraying had been canceled and no supervisor called from any office as I had asked. So after not hearing anything from Terminix for several weeks I again called to find out when the next spraying was. This lady did have a date but Terminix didn't inform me. Very calmly and being nice I again asked to speak to a supervisor. This time the lady asked me why and in a calm voice I went over my recent history with this company - she hung up on me. Called them to get rid of a wasp nest. I was very specific about what I wanted done with the person who booked the appointment and the servicer who called ahead. Came home from work, wasp nest still there. The report read: "Thank you for choosing Terminix. Your business is appreciated.Today I swept all the windows and reachable eaves to remove spiders and spider webs." So I called them, they said somebody would come out the next day. The next day another servicer called. I said he might want to bring a ladder and he said he'd call me back. Never heard anything. Since then I've just been trying to get my money back for services not provided which I think is perfectly fair. Problem with drain flies. Salesman said they can take care of it. They came & sprayed outside and inside. A week later my wife and I found cockroaches in the house. In 25 years never had a cockroach in the house. Also big ants now in the house to, never had a problem with them either. Cockroaches had to come from the guy spraying, maybe on his clothes. They suggested to come back out. Wife & I didn't want him to come back inside the house for fear of more cockroaches. So now it's past 30 days and they will not refund money. If you cancel contract they charge you $99. So they got you either way. A real ripoff. I wonder if they purposely leave a cockroach in the house so you have to call them for more service. read more

We rented our house out to people. When they moved out we knew that we would have to go in and paint, but when we got there to inspect the house it was filthy. We wanted to have an exterminator come in, Before we moved into the house, so i called Terminix. The woman I talk to on the phone was extremely nice. I told her we needed an evening or weekend, as we do not get out of work until 5 PM. She gave me an appointment for a week later, a Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM. I left work early so I did not miss the exterminator. When I arrived at the house about 4:50 PM, I had a note on my door stating that they were there at 3:15. I called Terminix and the lady said the local Newburgh Office change the appointment time to 3:00 to 5:00, without calling me and informing me. She rescheduled my appointment for Saturday between 1:00 to 5:00. She stated that she contacted the branch manager and he would call me back, also. On Wednesday (the day after), The manager called me back. He was also very nice and apologized for the inconvenience and guaranteed me that they would be there on Saturday. On Saturday, I went to the house at 12 PM waiting for the exterminator to come. About 2:15 PM I called Terminix to ask them if they had an ETA on when the exterminator would be there. She put me on hold and tried to contact the driver, with no success, but she said she left him a message to contact me with an estimated time of arrival. At 5:15 PM (which is 15 minutes past the end of the appointment) I still had not heard from the driver. So, I called Terminix again, the very nice associate tried to contact the driver once again with no success. She then called the manager and the manager was in the field and said he would return my call as soon as he could. At 6:15 PM we received a phone call from the exterminator, stating he will not be able to come to the house, that we need to call Terminix and reschedule. I asked him if he could at least come spray the inside of the house and he told me no, his exact words were, too many appointments not enough time. I proceeded to say that it was unacceptable as this is the second time in less than a week that they inconvenienced me and did not show up when they were supposed to. He proceeded to say well I am not going to be able to coming today. I asked him to have his manager call me back, and he proceeded to say call the 800 number that is the only thing I can tell you. I got my initial service sometime in the beginning of July 2019. The scheduling with this Newburgh location is a hassle. For the initial service I got a confirm appt for a Monday and they call a day before service after I took off of work to tell me they can't show and they are over booked. To be honest the initial service was great tech was good. Now we come into the next issue which is the follow up which would be for August, got a confirmed appointment for the 16th there was a no show so I called terminix and said that my appointment had been moved to August 23. Of course I took a day off for that as well. So I wanted to get in touch with the manger after several attempts (with going thru customer service, which they have no clue as to what's going on at all nor could the get in contact with them). Finally I spoke to Eric the manger and told him the whole situation and ask for some type of compensation due to missing several days of work due to no shows and rescheduling all he could say nonchalantly that he would make sure I would be the first appt of the day! Their exclusion service was very disappointing. I paid $1,900.00 because I was told that mice droppings were found in my attic and basement and that my house had to be completely sealed. Well I got 6 mouse traps, minor sealing and a protective cover over my vent pipe for my drier. Turns out I didn't need anywhere near the work done that was sold to me. I feel like I was conned. Horrible. Would give 0 stars if I could for their exclusion service. (I also have their pest control service, which has been fine.). I have never given negative reviews until now, but this is just beyond belief. Do not purchase their exclusion service. They market it as sealing up all the gaps in your house so that mice and other pests can't get in, and they market it aggressively (when the pest control technician finds mice in the attic, he'll ask to schedule a free estimate for their exclusion service). It does not work and is expensive. The mice are still getting into the attic after the installation and one follow-up visit (and still trying to schedule more). Scheduling follow-up visits to remedy their ineffective service has been impossible. Repeated no shows, and then they show up out of the blue without scheduling an appointment with me. When you call customer service, you get someone in an Arizona central servicing center who can't do anything from their end except say that they'll contact the branch that services you. I finally got in contact with the local branch manager and told him about all the issues I've been having with the service not working and the no shows (which is particularly concerning when their "guarantee" only lasts for a year but how can you remedy issues if they don't show up?). Branch manager was polite and seemed accommodating (he said they would keep coming back until the gaps were closed), and he said I was all set for the next visit, which was today. And yet there was another no show today, and when I called Terminix customer service, they're seeing no appointment for me even though it was on their system previously. And to top it off, I then get calls from their automated system after the no show asking for feedback on the visit (?!?!). I've never experienced anything like this before. Reasons why not to use this company. 1- Not dependable and extremely unorganized. 2- On multiple occasions they assigned techs that no longer worked for the company so there were multiple no show appointments. 3- I have had techs show up to the house on the wrong day. 4- I had one of the inspectors ask me for a job in the middle of an appointment. 5- When I had concerns I had to call in for a week straight with no call backs in order to reach a manager 6- When I finally reached the manager he repeatedly told me how great of a job his company was doing for me. If there was a negative digit rating, that is where this service would be. Clearly they are not service oriented! I signed up for a new quarterly service contract and paid a premium on May 17. I have one service appointment to which the exterminator sprayed for ants (which was the primary reason for the call) on the outside of the house but never treated the inside. He said the carpenter ants were in the wall and the wall would need to be ripped down so they could come back to treat. I said we can't open the wall if no one is here to treat the ants so we will need to coordinate a date to pull the wall down while the exterminator was here. We agreed to call back to get an appointment for a follow up appointment. I called a few days later to coordinate the appointment but no one called me back. I called two more times but with no call back to schedule the appointment. Then I receive an email stating my appointment was scheduled but no one ever spoke with me and it was scheduled for a time I was not available! I called back again....asked for the local manager to complain and get it resolved...no answer and no follow up. I called back and spoke with the general service line 3 more times! no call back! I cancelled the contract and asked for a refund...well, that has to be done by the local manager! Guess what????? NO CALL BACK received yet!!! I called in another competitor and they came within 24 hours and treated my issues, both inside and outside, plus took 2 extra hours to treat other areas while here....and the best part????? we did not have to rip down walls to treat the carpenter ants!!!!! (6) little holes with two types of treatments so far! I am so angry at Terminix, not because of the service that was performed, but for the lack of follow up from the local manager....... I am a manager in a corporate environment, and I would never treat a customer like this! The lack of a phone call to address a customer complaint is inexcusable by a manager! I would not recommend this company or the local branch for services based on my experience and this local branch does not represent this company well at all. Terminix is absolutely utter trash. You would think being that this company has been around for so long and considering this is the first company you think of when it comes to pest control that they would be more on point but clearly I was sadly mistaken. First off, they had me on hold for like an hour or 2 and when I finally got in contact with someone to schedule an appointment I had 2 no call no shows. the first time for an inspection and the second time for the actual extermination. When I called back to complain their response was "We had scheduled the appointment but we never assigned a tech to it" Are you kidding me ?! When they finally do have someone come by he openly admits to never exterminate this pest before. He stands on my porch for a good 20 mins reading the manual to himself and than whips out some little ass can that looks like hair spray and says hes about to go around the inside and outside of this entire 2 floor house with it. I've hire an exterminator before in the past and they've definitely used more legit equipment other than a damn spray can of aerosol. He does this all in like 10 mins which wasn't enough time. and lo and behold 5 hours later I still have a pest problem. I call to make another appointment and to have another guy come by, which ends up being another no call no show and when i just happen to check my Chase account they charged me TWICE!!! 1. the second service was complimentary and 2. they didn't even show up. So now i'm livid and call them again (mind you, each time i called i was on hold for hours) told them i want all my money back. Just to finally wrap this up i am still currently dealing with this issue, I have a newborn in the house with me and being that i've been stuck in the house throughout most of this because of the pandemic has really contributed to my postpartum. Worst services ever, never have I dealt with such unprofessional and inexperienced people in my life. They were rude to my tenants as well as not showing up for scheduled appointments that were made. Came a total of 3 times after paying over $1700. Paid for services on March 24th and complained on April 28th because they would cancel and reschedule at their own convenience and then not even show. When I tried to communicate my disappointment and cancel my service and try to retrieve my monies back was told several times that someone from this branch would call back which I never got a response. I had to keep on calling and only to find out that I would only receive a portion of my monies back, not satisfied I kept calling because I wanted to hear from the branch manager then I was told I had to call the finance company to get a refund and that I would receive a full refund. So I went ahead and did what the corporate number told me to do only to find out that the finance company refuses to give me my monies back because the branch manager wrote to them and told them not to give me my monies back but this is the person I have been waiting on for a call back from April 28th from this so called manager. Spoke to several people giving me the run around only to find out that the intention was to never return my monies back to me in the first place. I've had my Termite Plan since 1982 with Terminix every year they know they have to come between 5-7PM or a Saturday. My records show yearly when my appointments were. I was sent my yearly bill in May 2019 I paid this bill in full on 5/9/19. It's now 8/7/19 & I've yet to have my Termite inspection. Since May Terminix has cancelled & rescheduled my appointment 3 times now with no call or email to me of the change. I've wasted countless hours on the phone & in their chat room trying to schedule & have someone actually show up for the appointment. I've never in my lifetime seen such horrible Customer Service. When I reached out to the main hub on 8/6/19 & got testy about why I'm never contacted an they just pick an choose an escalation manager was supposed to reach out to me shortly. I've yet to hear from this manager. When I went into the Chat today an called them out for still not hearing anything about scheduling my appointment the man in the chat said he could schedule for next week. I then proceeded to ask this person for a confirmation email regarding the appointment for my records he told me that's not possible. He flat out lied so this way I had no confirmation of the appointment made. On 7/10/19 a girl from the phone service sent me an email with my appointment date. I then proceeded to call him out for being a liar about not being able to send me an appointment confirmation email & the person on the other end immediately ended the chat to avoid speaking to me any longer about my issue. It's really insane how they treat their customers I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. At this point I'd like to just have my yearly inspection. My weekend house upstate developed a millipede problem several years ago -- fairly unusual, I admit -- w. these tiny creatures crawling out of rugs and floorboards. At wit's end, I hired Terminex. It cost around $500 for several visits, and they absolutely did ZILCH to resolve the problem, nor did they ever spend more than a few minutes at my house. The first exterminator who appeared was a colorful and amusing old-timer, and he sprayed some solution inside and outside, but it had about as much effect as water. Then, each season, someone else would arrive and perform the same useless work -- though in the winter the rep who showed up literally did nothing, explaining that there was nothing he could do w. freezing ground; he'd merely come to tell me this (and presumably get paid). I canceled my contract after three such useless appointments and have, alas, learned to co-exist w. the millipedes. read more
