We had a huge mouse invasion and all the insulation in our attic had to be removed! I had always used Orkin for the last 40 years. They came and investigated! Nothing like Terminix! Jay came out and inspected every cabinet and closets and corners! I was shocked. Jay gave us an estimate considerately lower than than Orkin! Terminix was excellent. They came out with trucks and a great crew. Jason,Cody and Chris! They were very professional and took out all the insulation with the mice! They cleaned up left everything in order! The Roanoke Terminix operation is a joke. I set 3 appointments with the Roanoke Terminix office and each appointment was a no-show! I have Terminix termite bait stations in my yard left there from a prior owner. Terminix is supposed to pick them up after a homeowner contract ends. Apparently this local office doesn't follow up with their standard practices. I thought I'd call them for an inspection and possibly have them re-set the bait stations. Now I just want them to pick up their bait stations as I will never do business with the Roanoke Terminix office. read more

I'm so sick of Terminix! I had a residential and commercial contract. I already canceled the contract at my business because they no-showed twice within 2 months of initiating the contract and taking my money, so service was never provided there. At my house, they're always late or don't show up at all. They never provide the service scheduled and this week I had enough! I found a redback spider in my bathroom, which has never happened because I was doing my own pest control prior to Terminix "taking over". This week, the technician was scheduled for indoor and outdoor spraying, termite monitoring, and pest service in the attic and crawlspace. My service window was 1-3pm. The technician showed up at 4:30pm, ran a broom across some of the front of my house, barely sprayed a line across the front of my house, sprayed part of the back, checked a few bait stations, and left. Now I have to remove the small wasp nests on the back of my house, spray the crawlspace and attic, treat the whole inside, and hopefully not have any more dangerous spiders get inside in the meantime. Terminix should be shut down in this area. Leave it to the businesses who are actually showing up and working. read more

Will never understand why Terminex suggested scheduling an inspection before another treatment and then allowed their employee to just not show up after waiting 3 1/2 hours for this man. he texts me 25 minutes before the end of the Noon time frame to tell me he wasn't coming. Called Terminex to report this fraudster and they simply didn't care. There was plenty of time to send another inspector but they refused to do so. They moved my 10:00 am to Noon appointment on a Saturday to a start time of 8:00 am. Telling me the inspector might come earlier. Wasted a beautiful Saturday waiting for the inspection. Terminex seems to take their customer's desperation and need for help as a joke. Maybe it's just women that they treat with such disrespect. The Montebello Condominiums in Alexandria, Virginia has been infested with bugs - fleas, mites, beetles - due to rats in our trash rooms - not a problem for 12 1/2 years then All American PesT Control is hired and problems started. Where to start, Don't trust them! They charge $900 to come out with sticky paper mouse traps. They did my crawl space encapsulation and then told me I had no outlet to plug in the dehumidifier. Who does that! That's what I paid their dishonest inspector for, but he was a fast talking scammer who refused to answer my phone calls after he got my money . And the manager was not professional, I had to constantly contact him. His people were a bunch of young guys who halfway did the work, another guy had to come out, full of excuses. Roanoke business changes appointments without informing customers. Unable to reach a local number and have to talk to someone at Terminix's 800 #. Requested numerous times for a call from the manager and the district manager. Neither has called. The company used to have very knowledgeable technicians but they all have quit. I would highly recommend choosing a local company that responds to customer concerns. Terminix increases their prices yearly and offers poor customer service. read more

FULL REFUND RECEIVED, BUT READ THE WHOLE REVIEW FOR THE LONG AND PAINFUL HISTORY. ***SCAM ALERT*** Posted December 18, 2019. The people at the Terminix office in Roanoke defrauded us. They took about $800 from us for powder post beetle treatment in our crawlspace. THEY DID NOT PERFORM THE TREATMENT. They sent an employee who went into our crawlspace, said it was too low to safely treat, said he treated a small area he could reach, about 10% of our crawlspace, and left. Six months later, not only have I not received a refund, I cannot even get anybody to answer the phone to discuss it. They are avoiding me. It is blatantly obvious that Terminix never intended to treat my crawlspace. The Terminix employee they sent to do the inspection when we requested service was a "certified inspector." As such, he obviously knew that Terminix would not treat a crawlspace like mine, that was less than 14 inches high. But he took our money anyway, and now they are dodging our phone calls. My next step is going to be to contact the Virginia State Police and The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Investigator for the Roanoke area, to file formal fraud complaints. I will update this review as my case progresses. For now, though, I wanted to warn everyone not to do business with Terminix in Roanoke. UPDATE: FULL REFUND. Yesterday we received a full refund from Terminix of Roanoke. I credit the work of the new service manager at that location. We paid over $5000 to encapsulate our basement over a year ago. We still have water in the basement and although they tried to fix it a few times they have just given up and don't even return calls. I tried to review them on google and it will not let you, do not believe their reviews on google as they have people blocked. Horrible company. read more

This business is beyond horrible. Some of the people on the phone do the best they can with what they are given. Don't count on ever speaking to a supervisor! There is NEVER one around! I had two contracts. First call only one gets canceled. SEVEN calls later I still have the second contract and the termite baits. Now I still have to wait one to two days and see if someone gets scheduled to go out to the property that I no longer own BTW that is why I had to cancel the contract. The property will be sold over a week by the time someone gets out there! I have been trying to get someone out there for two weeks! All I want is for the baits to be pulled so that I can cancel the contract and MOVE ON!!! read more

They gave me a time frame of 1pm - 5pm. The tech arrived at 1:15 which I really appreciated. He was quick and efficient, he did his job thoroughly and communicated his work and findings at the end. He emphasized that they would be happy to come back as needed for the next 3 months. Overall it was a good experience. Now the carpenter bees have hatched and emerged from the eaves of our house. They were supposed to have been eradicated months ago. I asked the technicians (we had multiple) many times if they treated for them because I never saw them do it. They reassured me it was taken care of. Oh yes - I have had Terminix since I moved here 24 yrs ago and I have had them come twice for "swarming" termites. My last encounter with them was - they entered my house without authorization (husband was sleeping-he's 82) and proceeded to wander through my house waking him up (I was working). Ironically, my snowblower was stolen that same night (day before big snowstorm and it was out and ready to go). Now I can't prove it was Mathew and George but nothing has ever been stolen from this addr ever - in my 24 yrs of living here. BEWARE - obviously they do not "screen" their workers. Since January of this year I have had 9 phone calls from Terminix workers wanting to come do my inspection - obviously they do not have enuf business to keep them busy or they have an inept office manager. As far as I am concerned the last inspection was the LAST one. I will be canceling my relationship with Terminix at the end of this year - there must be other more reputable companies out there who will only come when I call them and I am home to supervise them who will treat my home and go away. I have paid over $300 a year - all these years for "peace of mind" and now my peace of mind has forced me to be more "protective" of me, my family and my belongings. read more

I called the service number and after being put on hold many times (0ver 30 min. one day) I am informed the local office changed my 2nd appointment and didn't bother letting me know. My 93 year Mom lives up in the mountains where many service providers do not like to go to. We live a few hours away and visit regularly. She was hearing noise in her walls and we searched for a pest control company. It appeared through some other apps that they were reliable. They came and the noise stopped. We came and saw the work that they did. The areas that had been chewed by rodents had been removed and spray insulation was covered by wire mesh. We asked them to come back, which they did. They fixed the work and replaced the wood. Next they advised my mom that she had mold in her basement (which she did.) They made a plan of service to remove and add a dehumidifier that self empties. A boon for my mom who cannot use stairs. The cost was way out of line and a person who recommended Terminex went to the house and had her sign a finance agreement. She did not understand it, and her signature on one page was clearly not hers. The work itself was okay but not worth the charge. We attempted to work out an agreement. All the company did was make my mother pay the finance company one month so that she could pay it off through another less expansive way. The finance company was charging her 18% interest! This is not way to win over customers. The service agents gave us the run around and we often got disconnected. Now they want another year agreement to treat her home! No way. I would say like another review that they do advise you of when they are coming. However, in my Mom's case they waited until it was dark for the first visit and rushed through the job. If I could give them a zero, that's what I would do. Purchased gutter guards from them back in November. Without going into the lurid details, this company failed to install the product, have been charging me for it since December. Apparently managerial positions have changed hands and the left hand doesn't know how to talk to the right because I have received a total of one phone call from them since the origination of this purchase. All other communications, including scheduling and appointment confirmations have had to originate from myself. The installation was never completed. Now I am waiting to be refunded, and haven't received a call YET AGAIN. Needless to say, 7 years of being a customer for two properties (rental and home) had no bearing on their consideration of customer service. If anyone wants to recommend a company for quality pest control that is not in any way affiliated with Terminix, let me know! Have homes in WA and VA.
