My house at night looked like a horror movie with hundreds and hundreds of spiders coming out of the siding, the gutters, patios -- they were everywhere! I had terminix come to my home for like 3-4 months because I was experiencing horrible spiders and critters. Once they started come after the second time they came the critters were getting worse. They came the one day and that night a skunk sprayed right under my mobile home. They would send me an email stating what they did to prevent the spiders and skunks raccoons etc and I swear they never did anything when they came or they said they showed up and never did. When I tried to cancel I had to jump through hoops it was such a hassle I wouldn't recommend them. read more

A neighborhood canvasser representing Terminix came to my door today in Henrietta, NY. He began launching into his sales pitch when I stopped him and asked if he saw the sign next to my doorbell. He played dumb and asked if I meant the house number. "No" I said, "the No Soliciting sign." He then asks me, "are you dyslexic?" "What?!", I asked. "Are you dyslexic? It says No Smoking", he says. "No it doesn't", I replied. "Yes it does, you bought the wrong sign", he continues. "We're done. Good bye, go away", I said as I closed the door. I couldn't believe how blatantly rude this kid was insulting me like that. I get that it can be a bit deflating to encounter a No Soliciting sign. I'd have cut him some slack if it were just an oversight and he simply said "no I didn't see it. Sorry to disturb you". I'd have respected that. I put up the sign because I get canvassed all the time. I know enough to call for help when I need it. I don't need anyone force-feeding me their services. If I have pests I can figure out who to call, but I can tell you after this experience it will never be Terminix. If their sales canvassers are this bad, I wouldn't even take a chance on their techs. These kids they hire act as if they are entitled to walk onto your property and impose themselves upon you, at least this one did. To be fair, since I have not used their services this review is admittedly superficial and I really can't do a Yelp review on the parents that raised this kid, so sorry to Terminix for taking the brunt, but you bear some responsibility for the people you choose to represent your company. read more

I have a groundhog problem. I signed up for a free consult. The window was 3-5pm on a Monday. They called at 3:45 Monday to confirm the appt and tell me they don't do groundhogs until Fall. I had already taken a half day at work to meet them at my house. I find that very inconsiderate and unprofessional. Don't waste your time with Terminix. Save your time and find another provider. read more

salesperson came to my door and told me I had a bees nest under my cave and started telling me it would cost $49 to have them remove it. As we talked, he suddenly said no it's gonna be $79 and then $45 a month, then charge me $90 for my first payment so I didn't know what the hell was going on. This was two days ago. I dropped off my notice of cancellation this morning. I sure hope I don't end up in small claims court to get a refund. It was high-pressure. He lied about my square footage on the contract. my $49 nest removal ended up in a $724 contract. WTF? read more

Terrible experience. Don't let them waste your time. I scheduled an appointment on line. The tech did not show. I called and was told the manager would be notified since there was no contact information on record for the tech. The manager never returned my call. They sent an email asking her to call the next day--she never called. I was then told my account would be red flagged and someone would contact me..that didn't happen, so after 4 days of waiting, I cancelled and will use their competitor. read more

Just canceled service for many of the same reasons already in here: poor customer service, poor quality workmanship, no follow up, and can do the same for much less when we want the service done all by ourselves! Paid off our year contract 3 months early..,paid in full...called and cancelled the last visit as we did not want them to come out. Even though they were paid in full...we are still assessed a cancellation fee..waiting for a response from a manager...which was supposed to call us two weeks ago...still waiting...Never again.... read more

Absolutely horrible. We had a flea issue in our basement. They came out 4 times and the issue wasn't resolved. The last time they came out they were an hour and a half late, with no call saying they were running behind. They were supposed to come this morning and once again didn't show up. DO NOT use them! Can I give less than one star!!! Run the other way the damages are adding up and I'm looking at a repair bill that would makes most people gasp!!! Empty promises and inept technicians initial service of $12,000 for insulation removal and replacement and pest services and a 5 figure repair bill for damages done corporate number doesn't work local field office says 24-48 hours for a call back cracks in my ceiling can lights poping down insulation in the HVAC system garage door gasket installed backwards!! Way more expensive than other options. They offer quarterly services and I will say they were successful in removing the carpenter ants from my property (for the summer - carpenter ants always return the next year). But they never called before their visits which meant they never serviced the inside of my property, even though I was paying an arm and a leg to cover all parts of my house. Not worth the cost when you can get better service at a better price through other companies (my current choice: Enviro Tech). read more

I called the number on the website and set up an appointment for about 2 weeks later. I asked for the technician to call me when they were on their way. I stayed home from work and waited around for 4-5 hours. No call no show. I called in and sat on hold for 15 minutes and got nowhere. A few days later after I didn't receive a call I called back and set up another appointment for two weeks later. Here I am waiting around missing work and no call no show again. This time I called and waited on hold for 20 minutes. I finally got someone on the phone and they explained that my appointment was never confirmed. Why didn't they tell me I was supposed to receive a confirmation? The guy promised me they would be there and they would take great care of me. They were quick to send me emails promptly to sell more services. It is impossible for these people to give you a service. By the time they come out the mosquito season will be over and I will be let go from work because of all the time I would have to miss. This was pretty bad customer service and I would highly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Regional Director Chris Young contacted us this evening and after hearing our case said that he would be getting us our money back for the rodent exclusion and assisting us with canceling our pest control contract as well. We are waiting to hear from him again tomorrow. read more

Update: they came checked my house, sprayed one more time to make me feel better after finding 2 bugs still in my bedroom. Upon leaving my house they sprayed my dog in the face. After spending $60, Terminix kindly agreed to reimburse me. How nice read more

They are great when they show up. You wait around all day sometimes they never show. When you call customer service they put you on hold for 10 minutes or hang up on you while transferring your call. I'd say I'm very close to canceling our plan. I should have done it by now. My husband had to treat our yard twice this summer even though they supposedly treated our trees for carpenter ants. They asked me to wait an extra 30 minutes and then I had to call again. No one showed up and no one from customer service helped me reschedule. Their response was someone will call you back. If it happens again they have lost a customer. Also, they are expensive! They mislead you when you call for information on pricing it sounds like your getting a deal. read more

We have had a contract with Terminix for 35 years. During that time our 2 technicians have been extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. We would not consider using any other service. And as they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. read more

I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt, knowing that many times only the negative experiences get reviewed. I had someone in my neighborhood soliciting for them, supposedly they had customers in this neighborhood. They were offering a special deal because they were already here. I took them up on it. They had a three hour window to arrive (I needed to be somewhere else shortly afterward). I planned to be here because there were some tricky things that were hard to notate on the form. They did not show and there was no call to advise me they would be arriving outside the agreed upon window of time (like most other companies would do). I called the "branch number" on the contract only to find it was a national call center for someone called a "liaison". That person said he would get someone from the branch, put me on hold, and then after 10 minutes, the call was cut off. I tried to find a local number and could not, but I found a national customer service number. When I contacted them, and their solution was to connect me back to the liaison, I decided that I didn't want to deal with all of this. So, I cancelled. 15 minutes after I received confirmation that the contract was cancelled, the driver showed up. I met him outside, explained what happened, he did apologize and explained that the information to him did show the window, but said all we wanted was the outside treated, so he didn't think the window of time was relevant. The information that I would be there and that I needed to show them some specific things was not included to him. Overall, not a pleasant experience. Not horrible, but I didn't want to wait for it to get past "not pleasant and irritating" to "horrible or frustrating". I gave the national customer service rep my thoughts about things the company could do to improve their communication. Anyway, off to find someone else. read more

Their customer service is horrible. I have been waiting five days for a return phone call. Twice they have been a no show for a scheduled appointment. If you try to call the local branch, you get an operator in some other state who says that all they can do is send an email to some representative who will call you back, but never does. This has been one horrible experience dealing with this company. read more

Heard noises in the cieling so I called Terminix after a Google search. They came and checked the attic. Claimed I had "major mice activity" and wanted $12,000. You read that correctly. Let that number sink in for a second. After getting over the shock I asked for a breakdown of the cost and the guy said that I'd need all of the insulation removed and new insulation put in and they'd come out to regularly spray for "yellow jackets, stink bugs, and termites". I pointed out that I don't have problems with those and asked what would be done about the mice. He said they'd be dealt with. I told him I had no used for regular bug spraying so he said he could knock the cost down to $10,500. I thanked him for his time and said I'd be getting other estimates. Another exterminator came today and said I have squirrels and gave me the name of someone to come trap them. When I told him about the mice claim and the $12,000 cost from terminix the guy laughed for 5 minutes straight. Please don't deal with these clowns. They will look at your house and neighborhood and give you a quote based on what they believe your annual income to be rather than giving you an honest quote. read more
