I have been a loyal Terminix customer for several years; however, I am extremely disappointed with the ongoing service issues every year. Technicians have repeatedly been sent to my property every year without a scheduled appointment, which is unacceptable and disruptive. In addition, there have been recurring problems with the bait stations, causing unnecessary stress each year--despite my account being paid in full. Despite paying $466.25 a year for bait changes, techs are instructed not to change them by their supervisors. Managers need to be sent to customer service training to be able to address simple issues. Due to yearly issues, I have canceled my account. Not worth the yearly stress. read more

A year and a half after getting their initial termite treatment we discovered major structural damage due to a major infestation that went undetected. Mind you they came a few times after we complained about persisting signs of termites. "Elimination takes a few months" they will tell you.. the only thing that was eliminated is our structural beam.. We are about to take a huge loan to fix all the structural damages. The "inspection" is basically a sales pitch, without a detailed report or action items. These guys are really incompetent and don't understand termites beyond the brochure they give you. read more

After several weeks of trying to get a supervisor on phone HENRY said he would follow up and as always they never call back. I called headquarters they said they would get this resolved. Henry appeared at my house 12/2024 and said no my men cant go under there its to Small it has to be at least three feet . Its actually 4' he is so incompetent. Came with the excuse that their policy has changed since 2016 about going into crawl spaces. I asked when was it changed and can i see it. He had no response. If there Was a policy change they should inform consumers of this and i would have discontinued then. This is false propaganda that they check the total perimeter of the house . I paid 1800 2016 to start and decided to keep it because they did a thorough job that first time and only time and now that i have issues they refused to look under the deck. This company is deceiving and manipulates you to believe they will continue to service you as from day. I intend to report this to consumer affairs for fraudulent advertising. This company takes your money without actually soving the issue. They prey on the fears associated with the issue at hand. Customer service is non existent. They do not call back, they do not return calls or messages. Even managers that tell you to call or text do not reply. They send text messages to customers only to realize the messages were sent to the wrong customer. 0 stars!!!!!! Here I am wasting my time with this review. First, they are NOT 24/7. It's the customer service center that is 24/7 and they are a joke. They just relay your appointments to the local stores. Even after I "successfully" made an appointment with them, I got a call from the manager Kevin less than 24hrs from my appointment time and he just canceled it. He reschedules me for a month later, and the night before my appointment the exterminator texts me to confirm my appointment. Still, he ends up being a no show because he had 16 appointments that day. How the heck do you give the exterminator 16 jobs when you know that's impossible for him to finish. It's not like the jobs are located in one area, it's all scattered. You would think that if they never got to your appointment, they will put you first for the next day or reschedule you as soon as possible but common sense is just not so common. It's been a week and I still haven't heard from them to "try" to reschedule. 90+ years experience and they can't get their stuff together, just pay a little more and use another company. I moved into a new home and saw something, so I called Terminix to come. Terminix told me I should expect someone, gave me a time 8am-5pm so I stayed home all day waiting. When no One showed Up I called and they told me I had no appointment. I have called numerous times and no one calls back, and several times, while I'm on hold, the representative transfers me to another. Eventually, I called a corporate number I found online and was told that the company was aware of a problem with the Staten Island technicians. AND, to my surprise, the corporate number advised me that a S.I. technician rescheduled my service to another day without my consent or knowledge! This is a horrible way to run a business & I will never call this place again. On a sidenote, Staten Island has a serious prescription drug/heroine epidemic. I can't help but wonder if the people working in this office have issues with drugs as well. I just can't imagine why/how someone would run a business this poorly. So beware, you never know. While the company and its website might paint a picture of great customer service and prompt responses, THIS BRANCH in particular is terrible. Here are some key problems: 1. Their first inspection was supposed to be on Tuesday between 2-4 pm. The representative never showed up, and never bothered to inform me. After making a call to the national customer service, they tell me the rep is not even at work today! They then proceed to reschedule me for an appointment a week later. 2. After this second appointment, during which they sprayed insecticide, I was dissatisfied with the service. I called to ask for a refund (based on their website guarantee) and this branch said NO!! Particularly, one (unnamed) employee and the manager, Remir, were curt and have ignored all attempts from the national customer service to provide refunds or even speak to me. Terrible experience. All was good until I came into my bedroom and seen my white walls were all scratched and damaged. I use the wall everyday for a projector that I watch and now it's all scratched up and ruined. When I first contacted Terminix they came and did an internal and external service. Now over a year later, I got a different tech to check the traps. He informed me that one trap was done incorrectly, and he told me to contact the company. I did and explained the situation. They sent the same tech whose job was not to repair traps. He didn't have the equipment necessary. He contacted the manager and that was the last I heard from them. They are very good about sending requests for more money but nothing else. There is not enough time in the World--or space in this post--to tell you how awful my experience with Terminix was. But if for no other reason than to vent my rage, here I go (in order of atrocity): * I set my appointment for a 3-5 PM time slot. When the tech did not show, I called customer service to follow up. I was told that they never set my appt. and it took half an hour to sort it out. Eventually I rescheduled for later that week. After I hung up the phone, the tech showed up. It turns out I did have an appt. the whole time . . . the tech was just late. * Since I was concerned about my cat, I asked customer service (in advance of my appt) what chemicals were involved. The rep told me that they do not use kill agents "because that would be harmful to kids and pets", so they use repellants instead ("the equivalent of a stink bomb to a human"). Satisfied with this answer, I made my appt. When the tech showed up with a canister of chemicals, he told me the customer service rep was dead wrong and they use straight-up pesticide. * While spraying, the technician--who inappropriately asked me about a picture of me and my husband--accidentally cracked the gas line behind the stove. He acted unaware until I said I smelled gas . . . and he concurred. To test for a possible gas leak, he asked for a match to light around the gas valve. His theory was, if the flame grows, there's a leak. The flame didn't grow so he left assured I'd be fine. Long story short, the next morning I called the gas company who said I had been leaking gas all night. When I called Terminix to complain about this, the customer service rep defended her technician. * Although I pointed out to the technician that the invoice had the wrong price on it--and made him manually correct it--I was still overcharged. I called and was assured that they would credit it back to my credit card. When the credit did not appear, I called again. It turns out they chose to put the credit towards future service w/ Terminix instead. * The treatment did not work so a couple weeks later I called for a free follow-up appt. under their 24-hour service guarantee. When I could not get an appt. for 2 weeks, I was told that their "guarantee" doesn't really take into account their actual schedule. Not until I spoke to a cancelation agent did I get an appt. in 2 days. * When the 2nd technician came, he told me that there was no way to solve the problem (without getting into my building's unaccessible basement); that the last tech left the wrong bait traps; that he did not have enough time to talk to me about other possible solutions because he had other appointments to get to; oh, and did I mention that he spent the ENTIRE conversation staring at my BREASTS! Basically he just wanted to spray and leave, which he did. Ummm, I think 'nuff said. Call Orkin instead. read more

It is impossible to get an appointment and when they do show up, they are not committed to solving the problem. I purchased a very expensive exclusion service for mice. The techs were to block all entry to mice, filling any cracks or holes inside and outside of the house. The salesperson was very friendly and so were the first techs to service our home. Afterward, it was downhill. I have had techs try to cancel at the last minute; refuse to do any work to fill holes that were missed the first time, claiming it was too soon. Would call 877 number to schedule appointment then days later Staten Island location would call to reschedule appointment that I made because they were completely booked for that day. Mind you this didn't happen once or twice it happened probably about 5x from the beginning of my contract 2/17 till now. It became a vicious cycle of me calling, them rescheduling and me calling the 877 number to complain. Each time I called the 877 number the matter was escalated to make the branch location aware of the situation. Mind I am taking care of a terminally ill parent. I wasted time and energy on the phone with no resolve. Everyone passes the buck. If you decided to go with terminix you will play vicious cycle of cat and mouse. If you want to waste your precious minutes on the phone and have your appointments rescheduled several times then go with terminix. I used them and their treatment works however they lock you into a regular 4 times a year treatment with 140.00 due each time. After canceling they continue to show up at your door unannounced, and spray then bill you. Then you go back and forth with customer service. They credit your account. The following quarter, they show up again and spray and bill your account. You will literally have to get a Pest Control Service to remove Terminix from your life. They are WORSE than the pests themselves. You cannot get rid of them. read more

I would give negative -5 star if possible! Being such a big company who claims their specialty is help families resolve pest issues, I expected a lot more than what I experienced. We found termites in our basement and we called terminix to come our for an inspection. The inspector came out and said we have termites (which we already knew) and said the solution was to put baits around the house. We agreed and spend over 1500$ for the bait stations. Since termites are a seasonal thing, we hoped next year the stations would have resolved the issue. Now fast forward a year, we again saw termites, so we called terminix to come out for an inspection, which they didn't schedule until the following week even though at the time we signed the contract the rep told us they will come out the same day. The inspector came and I told him the activities are in the basement, he went down, took a look and got some spray to spray it. At this time, I told him, the termites are likely inside the house and I see there are wood damages on the door frame, spraying is not going to resolve the issue. (by this time, I have done enough research about termites to know) He just said, oh lets wait a few days and see. Then, I asked him, is terminix going to do anything to fix the issue since I can clearly see there are damages in the door frame and potentially the wall. He again said, lets wait a few days and see. It's clear to me at that point the inspector didn't care and did not want to do anything to help. As he started to leave, I asked him if he's going to check the stations, he said it' s not necessary, there's likely no activities in the baits since the termites are inside the house. After I insist that he opens the stations, he opened 6 out of the 12 stations and said see, no activities. I asked him, it's been 1 years, if there is no activities in the stations, then obviously the issue is inside the house, likely under the basement. Is there any actions going to be taken to help resolve the issue? He answered, it takes time, lets wait few more days and see. At that point, I just knew, it was a waste of my time and money. The company does not stand behind their promises. I contacted the customer service at terminix website and told them of my dissatisfaction and all she told me was there is nothing she can do , and told me to tell my inspector of my concerns, which I already did and nothing was going to be done. The Manager then later called and asked what was the issue, we told him the same about our concerns and all he said was "we will check the station in April" and that was the end of the conversation. I obviously will not renew my contract with Terminix and will NEVER recommend anyone to using this company! read more

One of the worst companies to do business with they miss lead you they have you pay a monthly pay and then say that you can call them as many times as needed when you call them they don't call you back. I had an ant problem and reached out to them several times for service which I never got so I basically paid for something I never got.
