I spoke with a gentleman named Frank, was quoted $350 for a mice situation in a small 1 bedroom apartment of a private house for initial inspection and treatment. " no guaranteed" when asked about warranty; " do you ask that question for everyone? not interested, do not call again" when asked if he was the owner of the business. I was confused how a question like that would upset someone to hang up on a prospect customer. Was it too weird and rude to ask? I would love to support our neighborhood small businesses. I called afterwards a different small company and was treated respectfully, had questions addressed patiently. We made an appointment for today and I have confidence in the service with their positive attitude. So make certain to ask smart questions if you decide to call One Hour Pest and hope it was just an isolated incident I had with Frank. read more

WOW this is one of the best businesses in New York. Yes, I said businesses not just exterminator. I started having weird bug bites and called EVERY SINGLE bug exterminator on a Friday night at 1am and mike picked up at 1am. He took the time to explain what to look for and even let me send him photos of my bug bites!!! Mike then called an exterminator and got me an appointment the next day 3-4pm... but I had a doctor's appointment the next day 3-4pm and I couldn't move it. I was so stressed about having to pay a cancellation fee for my doctor's appointment. The next day at around noon, Mike called me and he had reached out to another client to see if they would be open to moving their appointment! Mike was able to send an inspector at 1pm!!! And Mike is SO responsive on his phone AND via text. Seriously does Mike sleep??? (Whoever the business owner is, GIVE MIKE A RAISE!!) Then came FRANK the inspector/exterminator. I was 15 min late and he was patient and waited for me outside my apartment. He didn't complain about my 4 flight walk up. Frank was SOO detailed in looking through my mattress, bed frame, boxes, EVERYTHING. He took the time to explain what he was looking for and he was totally cool with my barking yappy dogs. When he was done, I was still really anxious so I asked him if he could check other random closets and he happily did!!! Frank was SO kind. He even figured out that my apartment has bug screens on the windows and helped me pull them down before he left! I hope I never ever have a pest issue again but I'm so happy I found the One Hour team of Mike and Frank. I will always recommend them and use them again if I need it. One Hour Pest Control should be called Number One Pest control. About 8 PM last night I saw a rodent in my living room. I searched Yelp and came across One Hour. (My wife called 3 other companies with no return call.) Mike from One Hour answered the phone right away. He asked some questions and could hear the concern in my voice. He gave me a very reasonable quote and explained in detail what the technician was going to do. He was able to give me an appointment the very next day but kept in touch with me throughout the night and the next morning. Something other extermination companies do not do. Frank came to my house right on time and began inspecting for any possible entry points. He found several holes that he promptly patched up. I had an amazing experience today with One Hour Pest Control! Early this morning, I saw FOUR roaches in my apartment and complete chaos ensued-- I turned my entire room upside down as I chased one of the roaches with a flip-flop, I doused myself in citrus oil in order to fend them off, and I formed a protective circle around my bed out of Pine Sol-- I am absolutely terrified of roaches, so I was getting QUITE desperate. I called One Hour Pest Control at 8AM, and Mike promptly answered-- he was extremely helpful and accommodating, and said he would have a technician sent my way from 1PM-2PM the exact same day (managing to fit me in on a Sunday, no less). The exterminator, Frank, was awesome-- he was super professional and timely, showing up exactly at 1PM. He did a really thorough job, putting down several traps, applying gel inside all cabinets, and spraying literally every single crevice in the apartment (and he moved all of my things around too just to make sure he was getting the hard-to-reach spots, which I really appreciated because my apartment was a complete mess after the face-off with the roaches this morning). He also had a great attitude and brought a much-needed touch of humor to what was a fairly distressing situation for me, and he was so helpful in addressing all of my questions and concerns! I hope that the roaches will be gone, and that I hopefully won't *need* to call in an exterminator again anytime soon-- but if I do, I will DEFINITELY be contacting Mike and Frank for their services in the future! Very responsive, Mike had Frank sent out to my apartment with just 2.5 hours of my call that morning talking about my seeing a single mouse run around my bedroom and want to set traps/poison and seal off any potential openings in my and my roommate's 3BR. I think if I had done it at 8pm when I first got their number, they would have responded even then or even in the middle of the night, they are 24/7. Frank went through our whole apartment, (letting me follow him around and ask lots of questions he politely and helpfully answered, along with lots of tips that would be helpful in general to make me feel more at ease). He pulled out our fridge and stove and checked behind our laundry machines, in all places he found and took care of several holes our apartment building's service had missed or neglected over the years or even just laid an extra trap to make us feel better. After a month away, I came back to my apartment to mice. Everywhere. I initially called my management company, who did nothing. I then called One Hour at 9:00 PM. I spoke to Frank, who was excellent and asked a ton of questions about what issues I was having in my apartment. He let me know someone would be to my apartment between 10:00 - 10:30. It was a holiday when I was awoken to a mouse in my bed and within minutes of calling for help Mike had me set up for someone to come out that same evening. When the warm weather started in June, I started seeing big roaches coming out in my apartment. I've let my building management know. They did close holes near the radiator pipes, but that was it. I kept seeing the pests appear in my glue traps every couple of weeks. I let management know again to inspect the apartment, but the super said he already closed all the holes from last time. Realizing I would need a professional, I found One Hour Pest Control with numerous good reviews on Yelp. I spoke to Mike on the phone and gave details of my problem. He scheduled a technician to immediately come by the next day and always followed up with me on text before and after the appointment. Ray came by and did a thorough inspection of my apartment. He found three holes under the window sill. He believed the pests were coming from there and had those closed up. He pulled the oven out and caulked the hole around the gas line. Under the kitchen sink, there was already caulk around the pipes, but Ray found a couple of small holes in the caulked area and closed those. Then he used some strong special chemicals and put it in a couple of hotspots as well as spraying the entire apartment. Ray answered all of my questions, even though I sounded paranoid. I am so grateful to this company. I just rented a new home and right away I knew there was a roach problem. The superintendent was forthcoming about the building having roaches, but I liked the place too much to let that be a deterrent. This review is about the spectacular service I received from One Hour Pest Control in getting rid of a grain beetle problem. My husband and I saw these little fruit fly looking things around our kitchen on and off for a couple weeks. We didn't think anything of it until Sunday night (Oct 22, 2017), when the population seemed to be doubling and tripling seemingly out of no where. Our building exterminator isn't trustworthy, and many times doesn't show up when they are supposed to, so I found One Hour Pest Control on Yelp while trying to investigate alternatives. Communication At 10:30pm I texted (you read that right, texted!) their number they list for texting. Frank responded to my text within a minute after I sent it. I sent him a few photos of the bugs and we got on the phone and he told me what they were, gave me a real quote, and said he could send a technician out WITHIN THE HOUR. I was floored. Living in NYC, when you encounter any kind of pest problem, the first thing you think of is, "how long am I going to have to live with this before I can get it taken care of?" So the very speedy response, and the capability to send someone within a hour on a Sunday night after 10:30pm was such a relief. Not to mention, the quote was very reasonable, and Frank isn't a pushy sales guy. Technician Ray, my technician, showed up exactly on time at 11:30pm (on a Sunday night!). He was very professional, and did a good job communicating about the source of the issue, what he was going to do, and confirmed the bugs were grain beetles. Ray vacuumed up all the living and dead beetles from our walls, by baseboards, and behind our oven in the kitchen. He also helped us throw away the items in the pantry that the grain beetles were coming from. Then he treated our apartment to make sure the beetles wouldn't come back. His attention to detail was much appreciated. 5 Star Service What a relief it is to have that problem solved so quickly. No stressing over how many more will multiply before we can get an exterminator to identify and solve the issue. Everything else in my life I would have to make an appointment a week out and stay home from work and wait for someone. I've had Seamless food orders that have taken longer than the amount of time it took to get a technician over to my apartment. I was mentally prepared for my pest problem to become a whole ordeal, and I was able to solve it in one night by just texting Frank. Frank and Darryl were phenomenal. I called first thing this morning after seeing a new mouse in my apartment (I just killed one last night) and needed same day assistance. I found them on Yelp based on other awesome reviews and called directly instead of filling out a quote form. Within 5 minutes, I had a confirmed appointment for 3pm today. I was sent an email confirmation within minutes. When I then found that the new mouse had climbed into the sink, I trapped him under a bucket. I immediately called Frank to see if someone could come even earlier and I think he moved mountains to have someone come within the hour - and still making sure that the best guy was on the job. When Darryl arrived he went straight to work and was incredibly thorough. I gave a *lot* of detail about the other mice I had found and killed last year, and the cat that used to live here who likely kept new ones at bay. I have no idea if any of that info was helpful to him, but he never belittled me and rather just listened intently addressing each point as I made it. We discussed how these very little mice are likely babies and the traps I had set up weren't effective because they are too tiny to be caught. I hate the idea of glue traps, but there's nothing else to be done with these size ones. In terms of service, he worked through the apartment (a 2 bedroom, one bath) within an hour and closed up three holes, left bait behind the fridge where they likely enjoy hiding, put up two box traps, two snap traps, and two sticky traps. He assured me to reach back out if I had any further issues, but that he expected everything to be fine from now on. I am *so* grateful to my friends at One Hour Pest Control. I had such a frightening experience, my first time encountering a waterbug . I contacted One hour Pear Control and they were very helpful. I had an exterminator within a reasonable time. The exterminator was very friendly and gave a lot of information into insects and preventive measures. The waterbug was nowhere to be found when he arrived but 2hrs later is showed up dead. I was sent an email confirmation with the name and number of the technician that would be servicing my unit. Tech arrived on schedule and was very nice as was his partner. They briefly explained the solution to my mouse issue and got right to work. I was fully aware of the total cost of the services before they plugged up the holes (Junction boxes and area behind stove etc). They were very aware of any mess they may create and cleaned up before they left. Jimmy and Ali both recommended I check in 2 weeks after the service to make sure the issues had been resolved. Last, for what it's worth, I had them look at the rest of the building and they gave me an evaluation and quote for the entire building to be protected. In the end, I shelled out over $500 bucks to fix my rodent issue- Sure, I could have gone crazy at the local dollar pizza shop, but I'd still have mice to share it with. Bottom Line: You get what you pay for and 1hr pest control is worth it. We also had two guys with fantastic Brooklyn accents which made my wife love them. read more

Beware of trusting the yelp reviews when hiring this company. We got them to coming in in September to seal our apartment against roaches. This cost us over $460. To our surprise, we saw a mouse less than six weeks after this visit which was supposed to have completely sealed against both roaches and rodents, they requested that we pay another $400 if they were to return - when obviously the job was not adequately done in the first place. Note - most other services will include a follow up visit. This one does not. Now we are in the process of paying another company for a repeat service. BEWARE!! I've never written a yelp review before but felt I had to, after receiving an outstanding service from One Hour Pest Control this afternoon. One Hour Pest truly went above and beyond to make sure my problems with birds were resolved. I was suffering from a bird mite infestation (look them up, they are awful to deal with!), due to a pigeons nest on my windowsill. Pigeons kept returning to this nest every morning, waking me up at 5AM and bringing along mites and all sorts of insects that later entered my bedroom. It was a nightmare to wake up every morning knowing that my window, located right next to my bed, was getting contaminated by bird droppings, mites, feathers, and nesting materials by these annoying, persistent pigeons. Frank contacted me immediately after I sent him an email about my problems with pictures. He was very responsive and professional; he clearly stated my options and was upfront about the cost from the beginning. Easy appointment set-up for the next day! Technician Darryl arrived promptly on time and was EXTREMELY professional, helpful, and kind. I cannot thank him enough! He definitely didn't rush through the service but was very thorough and careful. I had a heavily contaminated air conditioner unit stuck in the window that needed to get removed to access the bird nest; Darryl easily took care of this problem, wrapping it up quickly and even got rid of it for me. I was internally cringing at how insanely dirty and contaminated my outer windowsill was, but Darryl was very calm and worked hard to sanitize and spray the area. On top of that, his manners were impeccable - it was a rainy day, so he came with removable rain clothes and shoe covers to avoid dirtying my apartment. Once again, so courteous and went above and beyond in his service! I'm very thankful to Frank and Darryl at One Hour Pest Control for completely resolving my issues! I can't be thankful enough for this company right now. I had two encounters with two mouses in one day and my building manager was of no help, so I decided to call in professionals. Was able to be seen same day as calling and they walked me through all the areas they checked (thoroughly checked every possible area) and showed me where they found the issues. Helped me flip over every piece of furniture til I felt at peace in my apartment. I was immediately put in touch with Mike, and he was incredibly helpful setting me up with Ray who was at my door by 10pm.
