I'll start by saying that Terrace View is a truly 5 Star facility. I'd give it 10 stars, however, 5 is the max allowed. The staff are truly amazing. In my 2 1/2 month stay at Terrace View I interacted with all the staff. From my personal experience they have been extremely helpful and encouraging for my recovery and eventually return home. I took the time to do a lot of walking around the facility and doing so talked to all the staff (nurses, nurse assistants, cooks, physical therapists, maintenance workers, cleaning crew, etc., and to a person they all loved their jobs and most importantly they truly cared for and loved the patient/residents. Most of the employees have been there for 15 + years. Many over 20 years. The facility is being cleaned on a daily basis. Floors buffed, rugs vacuumed and buffed, all patient rooms swept and mopped daily. Beds were made up cleaned where needed. Patients were given showers on a weekly schedule and the nursing assistants were caring, respectful and very patient. The facility just smelled clean every day. Overall the food great. You also had an alternative menu for other food choices. The dietician would work with you to get you the needed nutrition. The tilapia was exceptional. My favorite. Deserts were plentiful as well as ice cream and sherbert. My physical therapy was more than I expected. Paul, Jong, Hanna, were the best. I don't recall all their names, but to a person, they were very professional, extremely knowledgeable and very caring. I can't thank them enough for their care and encouragement for me. There are some patients who are long term care. I think if I was in than medical condition, there is no better place to be. The care, respect, professionalism and love is the very best. This truly starts with the facility administrator (Brendon Dahl) whose leadership doesnt come any better. His professionalism and care is reflected in every employee. This review is long overdue giving excellent marks to Terrace View. My Dad spent about 3 months at Terrace View after being bedridden in the hospital for many months after a horrible accident. In just a short time, Terrace View had him out of bed, in the chair and doing bike and weight exercises and practicing standing. He also transitioned from continuous tube feeding to three meals a day by the time he left! Our family is grateful for their hard work, dedication and patience. He has continued to recover and get stronger using everything he learned at Terrace View. Since then he no longer has a feeding tube, is on a regular diet and is walking in physical therapy. Everyone at Terrace View including the caregivers, nurses, therapists, cooks, activities team and office staff all gave 100% and went above and beyond. Thank you! read more

My mom currently has been here at Terrace View for a month now , and her health is improving all staff members are so kind and treat like family to us and we are so grateful. Very clean friendly environment . Before my father passed away three years ago , I took him many places but I never seen such a clean and nice environment with such good staff . I spent 2 months at Terrace View, I feel Blessed to have had such good care. I am especially thankful for the therapy I received after shoulder replacement. Jong is the best occupational therapist I have ever met. Everything he did improved my shoulder, and his personality made it fun and a pleasure to work with him. When I was in pain, he was good at distracting me and getting me through it. Darwin was very thoughtful. When I brought my machine from home he set it up for me. He even fixed my wheelchair. I looked forward to seeing him every morning. I appreciate both of them, and how much they helped me. The doctors at UCI suggested to put my grandmother in hospice after a fall and as a family, we thought it was not time yet so they suggested for her to go to a rehab facility. There were so many to choose from but thank God we chose this place. The staff are wonderful from the management to the housekeeping. You can see the joy of them working together despite how busy and hard their job look. My grandmother was discharged after a month stay and was able to celebrate her 100th birthday a week after. She even asked if she could invite all of the staff but we told her they need people to work that day. If at some point you have a loved one that will need rehab, this is the place to be. read more

My husband was a patient at the Terrace View Care Center for almost 6 weeks following a stay in the hospital. We both were most impressed with the care he received while there. First, the nursing staff is so very welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable and made me, as his advocate, feel heard and respected. I was there with him every day from morning until after dinner, and all the nurses were available to me for any questions, lab results, and information from his chart for any of the time I was not there. I very much appreciated all their concern. Of course, the on hands care of the Certified Nursing Assistants truly make this facility special. Each CNA that we were priviledged to work with treated my husband with kindness, warmth, and tenderness. They also respected my place beside him and helped me whenever I reached out to them. This facility is so well staffed that my husband never wanted for almost immediate care. We are both so thankful for all of these wonderful care givers. Another huge thank you goes to the incredible physical therapists at this facility. We had the pleasure of working with several- Hannah, Darwin, Alexander, Paul and Vache. Without their patience and expertise, my husband would not be home today. He had therapy twice a day and was encouraged by these experienced therapists to stretch himself and to reach for his goals. This was always done with kindness, praise, and attention to his abilities. I regulary watched them with all the other patients as well, and this caring attitude was ever present. Bravo to all of you! I also commend the social services department at the Care Center. This was my first encounter in this situation, and from the very beginning of our stay, they made me feel welcome in the office with no question or concern too trivial. I knew exactly what to expect and how to manage all the stages of my husband's care. As a worried spouse, this helpfulness was most appreciated, Something that I didn't really expect but was most delighted to see were the daily activities provided by the staff for the patients. One of the activity staff deliverd a detailed list of the activities for the day and encouraged all patients to participate. Again, these individuals were all caring, encouraging, and warm. One final note of appreciation goes to the kitchen staff for the very tasty and appealing meals on the regular diet plan. I oftren purchased on for my own lunch. The dining room is inviting, with large windows and television and staff members there to help any of the individuals with their meals. I chose Terrace View for my husband after a tour and under the stress of needing to make a decision upon his hospital relaese. My husband and I are both so glad we did. The facility is fastidiously clean; the patient rooms are warm and welcoming, and, as I have previously stated, all the levels of staff impressed us each and every day with how much they care for the individuals on their watch. I had the opportunity to be at this location for a month of a half due to physical therapy on my ankle in which surgery took place on September 20th 2024. The physical therapy in this facility is phenomenal. I personally wanted to thank John, Rhea, Alex , Young and Julian The Certified Nurses Assistant were kind and patient. I personally wish to thank Martha, Jocelyn, Gaspar, Christian, Dee Dee, Elena, Anna, Harmony, Marilyn , Cecilia, Love and Karen and most of Raul. The office crew are friendly and willing to help out such as Juana, Grace and Eileen (Dir of Activity), Selena and Priscilla. I personally would like to thank the nurses such as Louise, Dasol, Michael , Simon and Marisol. My advice to the family member or friends who are planning to have their love ones to be taken care of in this facility is this. Know each member of the staff within the Certified Nurses Assistant department including the nurses, and physical therapist. Build that relationship with them for they are the team who will help your loved ones. I would personally recommend this place. read more

My mother died after contracting C-Diff from this care facility. It seemed like a good care center until that happened. She died 3 weeks later. If you have a loved one and you are considering having them stay here, just be sure everything is sterilized every day. read more

I give Terrace View 5stars because they really take good care of my almost 100 yr old grandma. The facility is clean and doesn't smell of pee. The staff are amazing as well! Also the friendly guy in one of the offices in front by the name of Suri looks like Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder. My Aunt is currently staying at Terrace View, she is extremely happy with the care and therapy she is receiving. She has been in 2 other nursings home before in fullerton and brea but this is by far the best! She was admitted here the day before her birthday and the staff were very accomodating and allowed our big family to use their patio to celebrate our aunt's birthday. We saw how clean the facility is and we witnessed how attentive the staff are to her needs. No long waiting times for her light to be answered. The nurses are very polite, helpful and knowledgeable, she mentioned her favorite nurses are Janine, Pauline, Vangie, Carol and CNAs are Aldrin and Waris but all the others treat her very good as well. The therapy team is also very involved with her progress, they make sure she attends her sessions everyday, she proudly tells us that the therapist are excellent here specially Tess, Jong and Tina. The activities department also makes her stay here exceptional. While she was at the other 2 nursing homes, she was not involved in any daily activities but at Terrace View, they have tons of activities to keep her from getting bored. I thought her small change purse/cash was just lost from her purse/or taken. They called us today because they found her small cash purse on a med cart. All $200 in cash was inside! My aunt was recovering from brain surgery and this is where she stayed for 3 weeks. For the most part this place was clean, they could do better with the food as most elderly like my aunt battle high blood pressure and diabetes. Staff is good for the most part, kind and friendly...the only issue I'd say was they are under staffed for as many residents they have and with some of them English was not their main language so it was very hard for me to understand to them. Stay away from this place. I wouldnt put my worst enemy here. My mom fell out of bed, no report was filled, no evaluation of her was performed and the family was not notified. Their excuse was because she did not hit the floor, she landed between her wheelchair and bed. Really? This is just one of the many mistakes that happen over the few weeks that my mother was at TV. We finally had to call the Ombudsman and they came in and did an investigation. The ombudmans found MANY things wrong with facility. STAY AWAY! read more

Always Love How The Staff Is So Friendly and Accomadating Especially During These 19 Times

I was at Terrace View off and on since February 2003 and came home just a week ago. During that time I had three surgeries on my leg and I would highly recomend Terrace View to anyone that needed to go into a care facility the Physical Therapists and the Occupational Therapists went out of their way to help me to be able to walk again which I couldn't do when I went into the home. They were very kind and caring as well as the rest of the staff. The nurses the assistance all of them went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. 3 out of 5 stars is not the best rating. Edit: Our patient is happier, healthier and is much more mentally aware now that she's NO LONGER here. 1. Support staff didn't seem to have much guidance for what we do after we are essentially "kicked out" of here. Medicare pays for this type of care for 100 days. Would have LOVED a knowledgeable professional to help us with direction for the next step. 2. Comfort The rooms are very small, with only a folding chair to sit on to visit. Maybe this is purposeful, to get the patient out of the room? I just know that our patient (family member) is not at a level today where she can do that, so visiting was uncomfortable. 3. My Mother in Law had a small stroke and was sent by Ambulance to the hospital. Her glasses were lost and we have yet to get a call back to find out what happened to them. They are being replaced as I write this. I would have preferred some concern about this. Instead, it's 4 days later and we still don't have the glasses or even a phone call about them. 4. We didn't feel that care givers came into the room often enough. There was little mental stimulation for patients who can't get into a Wheel Chair. 5. We were told that because our patient wasn't making enough progress, therapies would be stopped. We strongly disagreed with this assessment. Our words landed on deaf ears. So, it's not a horrible review. Don't run from this place, but I don't know if another place is better or not. We are only on day 4 at a new place. Maybe they all have issues. read more

This was our first time having to use a rehabilitation center so we don't have anything to base our opinions on ...but that being said I was expecting better treatment from these people towards the patients. I've heard terrible stories about places like this and this place had good reviews...Well, unfortunately that really wasn't the experience for us! Due to covid I couldn't go inside the facility therefore I would sit outside the window to visit each day.One day a worker put my loved one on a bed pan to go potty before I had arrived. That pan was underneath her for the 3 hours during our visit. Not once did someone return to ask if she wanted it removed. I didn't even know she was sitting on it until she told me how uncomfortable she was! I had to knock on the front door to get someones attention to remove it. They never came when the button was pushed to get someone to help. We had to get a whistle for her to get a nurses attention b/c at night no one would come to change her wet diaper when she needed it changed. She would be left in urine. Finally when her infection was gone and she had finished her IV antibiotics, we had decided that we had had enough it was time that we could get her out even though the Dr recommend her stay another week for physical therapy. I called the front desk to tell them to arrange the paperwork. I spoke to a lady named Laura. She was the worst employee of them all. By this point every one else had been polite to me but not Laura she yelled at me then hung up on me! I felt like they were holding my loved one captive. It was almost scary. Finally a few days later the Dr. gave her freedom. She came home weaker than she was when we brought her to the hospital! We had a Physical Therapist out to the house right after she came home. (This was why the demanded she stay in the rehab center.) therapy discharged her after 4 days of therapy stating in unnecessary. She moves around her house the way she wants to and it works for her! What's normal movement for one person might not seem normal for the average person. They didn't seem to understand that!!!! It's been 2 months now she's back to moving around normally, thankfully. If she had been there any longer She most likely have never walked again!! I would never recommend staying in this center. The end goal here seems to be to make sure that these poor people never become independent again! They are very in the box thinkers and living life isn't in a box! They get 2 stars b/c she was fed and the food wasn't bad. When they did come to her room she said they weren't mean or rough when changing her. They aren't under staffed. She said she could hear them laughing and talking in the hallway all the time. If you're stuck with sending your loved ones here try a whistle might make sure he/she get the attention they need :) read more

A friend (91) and I went to visit our friend (96) in this rehab center. We were unable to go inside because my friend had not yet received the COVID booster. When I explained how far we had driven (1-1/2 hrs) and that we had been friends of the patient for many years, the kind nurse said we could go around the side and visit from the window. She helped us communicate with our frail friend for awhile, and then we left. She was so helpful and kind. Not only was her assistance appreciated, but also the strict visitation requirements. Keeping our friend and others as safe as possible. Kudos to staff. read more

Went to visit my wife's Auntie Claire here on Saturday, 3/1/14. Now I have been to plenty of home care places and its hard to find a really good one based on the fact that your loved one resides there. Of course you want your loved one to be treated perfectly but I have yet to find that one perfect place and because of that, any little thing will take that one star away. Here I gave them 4 stars base on several good things. As we came in, the nice girl at the receptionist desk greeted us with a smile and told us where we needed to go. We find our auntie in the hallway sitting in her wheelchair just hanging out. We escort her to her room so she can take her meds and rest. The nurse that is assigned to her takes care of her vitals. I find out there is free wifi. The password is 16terraceview. There is a nice Starbucks self serve coffee machine at the entrance to your right as you enter. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a lady down the hall just screaming the whole time we were there like she was getting murdered. I spoke to the nearest nurse about it and she said that all the screaming was normal. Huh? How does anybody sleep? She said once the lady is sedated at bedtime, she sleeps through the night. But still though, I thought they could of did more for her. Imagine if she was your mom, aunt, sister, or grandmother. See my point on a place being 5 stars? Overall, my first impression was a positive one even though there was an old lady with a nice set of lungs and vocal chords. Even though this was my first and only visit, what I observed was pretty good. Im hoping that if I visit next time, the experience will be the same except maybe the screaming lady takes a day off. Two years later and my Mom is back here...same great care. Laura Valenzuela, social services, is excellent at keeping in touch and very caring. Dr. Woo is also very responsive. Terrace View is spotless and my Mom is receiving excellent care. Her only complaint is the food...probably because they are keeping her on a diabetic diet! My grandma only resided here for about a month after her hospital admission for stage 4 thyroid cancer. The doctors already knew she had 2 months or less to live. Our whole family knew that she was terminally ill and was to pass away within 2 weeks to a month... Terrace view accepted my grandma. I dont think they knew she was to pass so soon but they all cared for my grandma so well and even accommodated our whole family by being there while she took her last breath. The CNAs, and LVNs were a big part of her end of life care. The social worker Laura was very sweet. The only lady that appeared rude yet still so helpful was the MDS. She stayed rude or had a certain intimidating tone the whole time my grandma was there...she always talked over my aunts and didn't like to repeat herself, but even so... She still helped us even with her already being so annoyed by the whole family.. I understand that death of a loved one is erratic with many people talking... I understand.. But your the leader...set an example and show compassion...even if this place is ONLY a rehab facility...you entered the field cuz you like helping people right? So show it.. Anyways...by the end of my grandmas stay and untill her death...Terrace View showed us the most respect and compassion from MOST of the staff members and i will forever bless them from our family to theirs. The food was okay, the cleanliness was good, the other residents were fair, and the staff was phenomenal. Great teamwork! Called for an update on my mother and my call was answered by the Nurse Supervisor who was rude and cut me off multiple times when I was inquiring about my mother who is in the Red Zone for Covid-19. Before I could ask my next question regarding having the therapist call me back the Nurse Supervisor told me she had patients and hung up on me! How is that being empathetic with family who entrusts Terrace View to take care of loved ones? The recorded message while on hold for ten minutes at a time is a joke! You do NOT treat everyone like family and staff is unprofessional and uncaring! Why is a Nurse Supervisor who has zero customer service skills playing operator and why is staff telling me how many COVID-19 patients there were in the red zone (18 patients the other week)? Staff needs training on how to talk to and listen to people. I do NOT recommend this facility to anyone. There are better facilities out there who do care! Update on this place: they discharged my mom yesterday when she was Covid-19 positive, had a severe UTI, and glucose levels of nearly 400 as well as hallucinations and in great pain. Two (2) hours later she ended back in the Emergency Room. Hospital is aware and is looking in to Terrace View as to why they discharged her instead of bringing her to the Emergency Room for evaluation where she is currently admitted and in poor condition. Also, no one will return my calls to answer my questions and the nurse does not know the last time the doctor checked my mom prior to signing off on her discharge where instead she should have gone to the Emergency Room. Staff is not answering the phone and just placing it on the counter where I can hear them in the background working. No one is returning my calls from the Admin, Doctor, and Case Manager regarding my mother. This place is not professional and only has excuses instead of taking responsibility for their actions. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are not what they claim to be on their marketing pitch when you are on hold as their actions are the complete opposite. read more

My dad is currently staying at Terrace View for rehab. It was very unfortunate that he had a stroke but meanwhile it is so fortunate that he is at Terrace View for rehab! I am deeply touched by how much the staff truly cares about their patients. From director Joanna,social service Laura,PT Marco and Christy, doctor Sayyur,etc - everyone went above and beyond to help my dad. Due to the whole corona virus situation no family members are allowed to visit. My dad doesn't really speak English and as you can imagine how worried I was to have him stay in a new facility by himself. The staff there reassured me that they will take good care of my dad and asked me to trust them.PT Marco texted me pictures of my dad working hard in his PT session and that was the first time I got to see my dad inside the facility. I cried when I saw the pictures. They also accommodated my request that they brought my dad out to the hallway so my kids and I got a chance to see my dad by the front door. I can't express how much I appreciate the entire staff for their dedication, kindness as well as the great care they provide to their residents. This is a place full of great people and positive energy. They inspire me to spread the kindness, professionalism and care to our community and be the person who makes other people's life better. A great place to work at! The environment has always felt safe and secure. The first time I ever walked into our facility I thought that I would love to work here because of how clean it was. I've been to other facilities where I wouldn't even want to sit down but this facility was beautiful. My Grandma stayed at Terrace View for rehab, and I'm so glad she did. The staff was so friendly and always made my Grandpa feel like family when he visited. The care for my Grandma was always quick and she even said the rehab team was a blast to work with! At first she was skeptical because she wanted a private room, and she was almost going to go somewhere else for one, but after looking at the Medicare ratings we convinced her to go to terrace view, and thank goodness. They actually offered her a private room later and she ended up turning it down because she loved her roommate! She liked the food, and in my opinion it was the best choice for skilled nursing rehab that we could have made. Keep it up Terrace View Care Center! 100% recommend. read more
