We stopped by for a couple drinks before heading over for lunch at another place. Terrazza is part of a beautiful hotel called Casa Del Mar. The ambiance is very tropical with lots of plants, large windows giving way to tons of natural light, and pretty, colorful lamps. Our entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The drinks we ordered were not only pretty but solid, they did not skimp on the alcohol! We were seated at one of the window tables with such a nice view of Venice Beach - perfect for people watching. The entire staff, right from the hostess, to the servers and the bartender were all so humble and friendly. I would recommend stopping by even for a drink or two. The view alone makes it worthwhile.

Overall very mid. I don't understand the hype. The food presentation was very nice however everything was quite bland. Menu was not exciting either. Honestly, the French fries were the best thing we ordered. Service was great tho. Cocktails were nice.

We've been coming here for Thanksgiving dinner two years in a row. Last year was amazing, which is why we decided to return. The hotel itself is gorgeous with a beautiful ambience, which makes the experience feel special from the moment you walk in. Unfortunately, this year was a completely different experience. The restaurant was much busier, and there was essentially no service. It turned into a night full of waiting: 30 minutes for bread, 30 minutes for appetizers, about 40 minutes for the main course, and another 40 minutes just to get the check. The food itself was mostly delicious and the portions are generous, but the gravy was extremely salty this year. Overall, the long waits and lack of service overshadowed everything. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

We walked into the hotel Casa Del Mar and it felt like we were in a resort in Mexico. This place is very nice and immaculately decorated. From the moment we walked up the staff was kind and full of smiles. We were helped quickly and had a ton of great options. My granola and berries were delish and my hubs left NO crumbs of his Benedict. We will be back!!

This is inside a hotel right on the beach. Walking distance to Santa Monica Pier. The menu is very pricey. The scallops and cobbler was delicious. My friend got the half chicken which also tasted great. The staff was attentive and friendly. Very beautiful inside.

Terrazza is an upscale, classy Spanish/Italian restaurant located in the Hotel Casa Del Mar offering great food and phenomenal service at an elevated price tag. Our family came on a Saturday evening. We started with the bread platter, which was exceptional, offering soft, salted butter, a molasses-garlic butter, and a light, exceptionally flaky and soft bread ($14) which was the strongest entry of the evening. We shared next the Whole Lubina for two ($95), a decent Spanish Branzino split into two generous filets, which was light, flaky, appropriately deboned, and with a hint of lemon. We got a side of asparagus which was good, and perfectly roasted. Our children got the kids' bolognese pasta, which was mediocre, chicken fingers which were definitely not home-made and fries, which were excellent. We finished with the Basque cheesecake ($15) which was rich and creamy, but not too heavy, and paired with crisp apples which were a perfect pairing. Our waiter, Guillermo, was effusive, enthusiastic, attentive, and endlessly charming. He made great suggestions and took great care of us throughout the evening. The prices, while somewhat expected for such an upscale establishment, were on the upper end for the meal provided. Terrazza effuses old money, but somehow avoids being stuffy in the process, thanks to the great, welcoming staff. The ambiance inside, as with the entire Casa Del Mar, is upscale and airy, capturing the vibe of a early 1900s European seaside conservatory, rich with plants, green, and phenomenal views. Perfect for a date, celebration, or someone to impress, Terrazaa is a good choice for great food, excellent service, and phenomenal views at an upscale price tag. We dined here for the Easter 2025 prix fixe brunch and it was delicious! Here's what you need to know... Location. Amazing location inside the Casa del Mar hotel in Santa Monica, a couple of blocks south of the pier. Parking. We parked at a five-hour meter in front of the hotel (we paid $6.75 for three hours). They also have valet. Not sure if the restaurant validates or not. View. Great views of the beach and bike path from pretty much every table inside the restaurant. Food. The quality of the food was excellent. Like I mentioned, it was a prix fixe menu with a choice of appetizer or salad and an entree along with unlimited trips to the dessert bar for $125 per person (I posted a photo of the menu so you can see the options if you're interested). The meal comes with bread service but no drinks. Cocktails (including mimosas) rund approximatel $20 per glass and coffee was $6 per cup unlimited refills). I had the yellowtail crudo with yuzu oil on cantaloupe puree and it was delicious. My mom enjoyed her watermelon feta salad as well. We both had the grilled branzino which was one of the best branzino dishes I've ever had. There was no side with it, but quite frankly, it was so filling, it wasn't necessary-- however, it would have add a little variety to the meal to have had at least something different with it (my only complaint). Service. Excellent service, although we were seated at a table that had no flatware so our server had to bring us some (at this level of a restaurant, those details probably shouldn't be overlooked). Overall, great experience and we would certainly go back again.

Great spot! Stumbled upon this place before dinner for some drinks, and what a gorgeous hotel and area! It was decorated immaculately with a beautiful view of the water, and the drinks were outstanding! Expensive but worth it. We tried the sangria and the pear cocktail, was amazing! The service was also incredibly kind. Loved this place!

Fries that were really, really good.

I haven't been here in over ten years, partially because I came here with someone whom I no longer keep in touch with (in addition for the fact I don't care for Santa Monica) but I also really had no reason to be over this way. However, the other day I ended up having an appointment on Main St. so I decided to wander over to see what has changed. Walking in the lobby, I read from other reviews it was renovated, but it looked the same to me: older, rather stately and far from the modern, cold aesthetic I prefer/am used to. However, Casa del Mar isn't going for that, and if I wanted something a little more contemporary, I'd head to Shutters next door. Ended up seated at the bar (which was completely empty) and although it took me more than a few minutes to catch the attention of someone working there, the nice older guy directed me to the hostess to get a menu. Once it was obvious I was there to stay, another guy came over and he was fine as well. Since I wasn't starving, I went with $14 fries and stayed with water. A small bowl of chips was brought out which I appreciated, but I only ate about two since I 'gave up' chips a couple months ago. These Casa Fries with 'Herbs de Provence' were exceptional; even if they were just basic 'bar' fries, I'm going to eat them but these were unexpectedly delicious, probably since this is Casa del Mar after all. The lemon aioli was also fantastic, and I barely touched the ketchup but I'm glad it was there. Even though I ate more than half, I packed the rest to go (in addition to some of that aioli) since I'm not wasting $14. As I was leaving, the valet/doormen were even pleasant. This was a good experience in Santa Monica! From the front desk, doormen, and bar staff, service was top-notch, and I begrudgingly admit Casa del Mar wasn't so bad after all.

Hotel dining room but could be a stand alone restaurant. Lots of people working, all professional and friendly and accommodating. The food was solid. My scallops were tender, served on a bed of yumminess( no menu picture) Thankfully a gorgeous view restaurant with food and ambiance to match. And yes, the hanging ferns are real!

Every time we come to Casa Del Mar, we always make a point to have a cocktail and some yummy bites at the Terrazza! Food is solid, view is gorgeous, drinks are delicious, service is warm and generous! Treat yourself and enjoy!

How's the parking? How much is valet? Is there other parking besides valet. Just read bad reviews about valet.

There's street parking that is metered but those spots can be hard to find.

Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).

Harvelle's is the latter. Tucked close to the beach in Santa Monica, this tiny little place might not look like much at first. The setup is a tightly woven arrangement of vintage chairs and tables, with a long row of couches hugging the wall. But once you're inside, you realize they have their reasons for their layout. If you're lucky enough to grab a front-row seat or one of the coveted bar stools, you'll start to notice the details: metal pipes, and rods that spark the imagination. You're in for a treat! What I really appreciate about Harvelle's is that they don't charge you an arm and a leg for tickets. The artists are humble, talented, and consistently engaging. I've been to burlesque shows where the performers feel like they're just there, going through the motions. But not at Harvelle's. Every time I've gone, the women bring something artful, classy, and unapologetically bold to the stage. It's burlesque, yes, but not cheap in style or spirit. Anytime a friend's visiting from out of town, this is the spot I take them to. It's a must-see in Santa Monica. And honestly, what other place is giving you burlesque seven nights a week?

My husband, toddler, and 5 months old stayed here for 3 nights on Memorial Day weekend…read more We had a great time from the moment we walked in: - the hotel is beautiful and location is everything - the staff is very nice, tries to call you by name to make you feel special, and everything screams quiet luxury - the room was very nice, well decorated and comfortable. The tub is the highlight. One comment would be that when we checked in with Anthony, who was so sweet to our toddler, also kept telling us we were getting upgraded to a very nice room. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!

I would like to leave a review regarding an experience I had at your restaurant "Coast" on 5/25…read more My mother reserved a table for three at 8:15 PM to celebrate my birthday. Not only was it my birthday, but it was also the first time in over 10 years that I was reunited with my aunt visiting from Brazil, whom I had not seen in a very long time. This dinner was meant to be a special and joyful occasion for our family. The evening started beautifully. Our server, Lex, provided excellent service throughout the dinner. He was attentive, patient, caring, and professional. The food was also excellent, and initially we were truly enjoying our experience. However, around approximately 9:30 PM, the music in the restaurant was suddenly turned off while we were still eating our main course. At that point, we realized we were the last table remaining in the restaurant. Shortly after, we began hearing staff loudly speaking, handling dishes noisily, and clearly beginning their closing procedures around us. I politely mentioned to our server that it felt uncomfortable to have the music turned off while we were still dining. Lex immediately apologized and even kindly offered to turn the music back on. I told him it was alright and that we would simply finish quickly and leave. Despite that, he offered to bring over the manager. I honestly had no intention of escalating the situation, but the manager, Sofia, came to the table. I calmly explained that we felt rushed and uncomfortable due to the complete absence of ambiance, the loud closing noises, and the overall feeling that the restaurant wanted us out before we had even finished our meal. Unfortunately, Sofia's response was deeply disappointing. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging our experience, she stated: "Turning off the music is part of my closing list. I need to send my staff home, they cannot stay." Her tone and attitude came across as dismissive and argumentative rather than empathetic or service-oriented. The conversation became uncomfortable enough that I had to stop it myself. What makes this even more upsetting is that my mother had specifically arranged for a birthday dessert to be brought to the table at the end of dinner. Instead, the desserts were simply packed into boxes to take home, completely removing the celebratory moment she had hoped to create for me. Seeing my mother with tears in her eyes over what was supposed to be a happy family celebration was honestly heartbreaking. I truly do not understand how a restaurant located within a five-star hotel can make guests feel like an inconvenience rather than a priority. Hospitality should never end before the guests leave the table. While I understand restaurants have closing procedures and staff schedules, there is a respectful and gracious way to handle those situations without making paying guests feel rushed out of the establishment. I have personally worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 20 years, so I fully understand operational realities. This is not about staff wanting to go home, that is understandable. This is about the way the situation was handled and the complete lack of hospitality and empathy demonstrated by management. I am extremely disappointed by the way Sofia treated us, and I cannot simply overlook this experience, especially because of how much it affected my mother during what should have been a meaningful evening for our family. You are more than welcome to contact me privately should you wish to discuss this situation further. I am not someone who typically complains, but this experience genuinely left a lasting negative impression.
