The car rental companies like Maritza's will pick you up from here if you call them and take you to there facility about 2-3 miles away. Inside the lobby it is open air but inside the Vieques Air Link waiting area it's air conditioned. There are restrooms of course. During my visit a couple of weeks ago the second floor was closed so I don't know what is up there. Outside on the parking lot is a well regarded outdoor restaurant/food truck/bar but I didn't visit it. The air traffic here is almost 100% island hoppers like Vieques Air Link, Cape Air, etc. (which fly small 10 seat or less twin engine propeller planes) that will take you to Ceiba and San Juan on the big island along with a smaller island called Culebra nearby.

In all fairness this is a tiny airport on a small island. However, customer service here was…read moreterrible. I had about 10 minutes of business to conduct on the island and was supposed to fly in and out quickly. Arrival was no problem, and when landing it looks like paradise. Do not be alarmed if there are horses on the runway or at the airport. They are all over the island. I arrived an hour before the rest of my team (they were on a different flight) and decided to eat at the on-site cafe. As soon as I ordered I instantly regretted it. It isn't very sanitary. There were flies everywhere and I had to wave a napkin the entire time I ate to keep the flies back. Needless to say my stomach hurt the rest of the day. My return flight was a major issue. They cancelled my flight due to a bad storm but didn't say anything to me. They started loading another plane and I had to step in and insist they put me on it. After some arguing I got aboard. These planes are small, about 5-6 passengers and I was sitting behind the pilot. Before take off he turned and said directly to me, "We are going to try this, say a Hail Mary." I was like WTF... The flight was terrifying! I honestly thought we were going to crash into the ocean but somehow we made it!

I get it, island was devastated by a hurricane, and this is the best you can do, but when 88 people miss their flight the day before your flight and American Airlines has to send another plane to get them, you know you're in for a long one. There is no TSA precheck, if you think you're going to be slick and slide through this way, think again you have no privileges. Everyone is equal and has to go through the SAME process which is: 1) Physical pat down 2) Getting screened for metal with a hand wand 3) Taking apart all of your luggage and going through each item in it 4) swabbing random items in your luggage for chemicals 5) swabbing you for chemicals 6) swabbing your shoes for chemicals 8) Check your hair for hidden items 9) Patting down your dogs if you have them (yes all 3 of my fur babies were physically examined for contraband items) 10) Then you go past the bomb sniffing dog You still have to take off your belt, shoes, jackets, and everything out of pockets so those can be physically examined. The new TSA is a wooden hall of horrors that is now before US customs and it blocks the American Airlines Priority and 1st class check in desk which we could have used but didn't know it was there. The best was the argument I had to wait to pass between three TSA employees on what process I would go through next. It takes so long you sit in your designated chair and wait while they do their thing. My hubby and I showed up 5 hours early to get through this mess as it was advised by American Airlines to not miss our 3:15pm flight because we had connecting flights stateside. Pro Tip: Hire a red cap porter for your check in luggage at curbside. If not you will have to take your check in luggage with you through this really long and cumbersome process. While very annoying, these flights may be the safest going anywhere in the US, EVERYTHING is examined. This is the price of living in paradise. #St.Thomas #USVI

No lines, easy check-in, nice flight, great scenery....we had nothing but pleasant dealings with this company! Used Seaborne to get from St Croix back over to St Thomas, and it was pretty much a breeze. Got to the terminal, there really wasn't many people there at all, got checked in in no time, and there was a nice area right on the water to sit and wait for your plane. Yes it was delayed a bit but we didn't mind, and pretty soon the plane landed and we boarded and were headed for STT! It was a nice, uneventful flight and we got back to our island quickly, got our bags, and were done! Since there are limited options right now to get over to STX from STT (I think the new ferry is supposed to start running soon!), Seaborne is a great choice. It was quick, easy, and fun too as you take off and land on the water which is pretty cool. We had a great experience with them and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

April 2026 CASH…read moreONLY! Or Online Reservation pre-purchase. This review is purely for the actual dock, not the ferry providers. No one here is helpful. No one. Not one person. Front gate: $5/vehicle for port entry. Lady working the booth extremely rude and dismissive. Dock: Security guard lady was beyond rude and obnoxious. Obvious many of the people taking the ferry to St. John were 1st timers. I've read all the reviews on the ferry dock and the common theme from ST to ST J is that the security guards are the worse. Well...I lived it and it's true. The security guards are the worse employees ever. Did I mention rude and obnoxious? There's no signs or directions on where to park and where to wait....so you're at the whim of the security guard telling you where to go. Hint: do not purchase an online reservation. Bring cash to the ferry and pay round trip for the first boat that arrives. This way, you can hop on the earliest ferry. Just make sure you get back on the same ferry provider on the way back to ST T. Otherwise, you will have to pay full price for the return trip. When you get on the ferry, I person will come by and collect payment or check your car reservation. They will give you either a yellow or pink copy of the receipt. Do not lose this. Leave it in the glove box for the return home. You just show this or you will pay again. There are 2 providers. 1. Red Barge 2. Love City (black and white with VIC as part of the boat name). Make sure you return on the same company. Cruz Bay Ferry workers were awesome. It's the Red Hook crew that sucked.
