We used to love the clay hair wash and lavendar moisturizer. Used it for many years when living in MD. Mail ordered same products when we moved to Florida. Shipping rate was outrageous for two products. We were glad to pay it as we missed their products. What we received isn't the quality it once was. The hair product ( shampoo) was difficult to remove from my husband's hair and his scalp became itchy and irritated. It was also awful to clean off of the tub. It didn't dissolve as it had in the past. The Lavendar moisturizer was sunflower oil and lavendar. Watery consistency NOT WORTH THE MONEY. We will not be ordering from or recommending this company anymore. Also no way to get in contact with them via their website. Shame on you Terressentials. read more

I have been using these products for years and years now. I don't even remember how I found out about them, but they are the only product I use. Unscented face wash and lotion on my face. I use the spice lotion, which is my signature smell on my legs. Yes, I love patchouly, but I also love the lemon, I use the oils in the winter although they do get hard to pour and I pour them into a wide mouth jar so I can get them out in the winter, cause it's pretty cold up here. I have the shampoo, I don't use it as much as other shampoos just when I feel like a mud shampoo spa day. I like their soap bars, I try to use bars to lessen the plastic bottle waste, but I've also used their liquid soap, I've tried their wooden comb, but my hair is pretty fine. I'd love to go to their shop, but I've never been down that way so I always wait for the free shipping specials and order a bunch of stuff all at once , I haven't found a product that compares to this quality and organic.....also, I've never had a problem with delivery, orders or customer service. p.s. now my daughter's hooked too. read more

I am so impressed with the Terressentials fragrance free shampoo that it will be the only shampoo I'll ever purchase, and if the company stops making it, I will have to hunt down the ingredients and attempt to make it myself. They can be a little pricey but what product of quality isn't? They are pure organic ingredients without any synthetics. Synthetics are cheap, that's why almost all companies use them--including Desert Essence. My hair has never felt this healthy and I don't even have to use a conditioner, as I would with other "organic" products that contain detergents. This offsets the price tremendously. I am fan of their facial care, flower therapy line and organic shea butter. They are pricey, shipping is ridiculous and customer service re-training would make for a better experience when I call BUT these products have worked wonders on my skin, I couldn't be more thrilled about finding Terressentials a year ago. They are the only line I have come across that is truly only made with natures goodness and affordable. I used to love Nature's Paradise but after the change to non-organic ingredients and adding Xanthan Gum to their products, I find them to be sketchy. read more

I have been using the Lemon shampoo for several years and hate to use anything else (I do when I run out and don't have time to reorder online; we basically have 7 people in the house using it so even the largest bottles go fast). I have below waist length, fine, straight hair and it's the only thing I've ever used that actually keeps my hair tangle free. I usually follow with a vinegar rinse as recommended. I also never have scalp issues when I use this shampoo vs. always "peeling" after a day or so of using any other organic/natural shampoo (I do have a water filter on my shower). I love the lemon scent, so I haven't tried the unscented version (I often use lemon scented body soap and lemony scented perfume). I do wish there were some floral type options in the scent line...like honeysuckle or geranium, rose or maybe jasmine, but I don't know if there are strong, natural oils available in those scents to use...in this type of commercial application that is. I figure I could always add my own essential oils while I'm shampooing if I really wanted to. I have used the Lemon body wash, the baby wash/shampoo, the facial cleanser, toner, and face lotion, and the lip balm. I have tried the body lotion and the body oil. I generally don't like organic smelling things (e.g., lavender, patchouli, almost every herb, mint, spices, etc.) so the lemon scent is the only one I like (I wish it stayed smelling like lemon, but the scent basically disappears once my hair is dry). The face products I mentioned aren't lemon scent, but they smell OK (kind of a light floral), feel good, and work well. I didn't care much for the body lotion or oil, but I don't really use those products anyway, so that wasn't a big deal for me (I didn't like smell or texture). I LOVE the lip balm, but only the mint one (I don't like fruit/chocolate scent together). The only thing that was bad about the lip balm is it melts really easily (like if you keep it in your purse during the summer). I have also tried the deodorant. It worked OK, but I just love the smell of my horrible chemical laden store brand too much so I got lazy and went back to that once I ran out of my first order. I've never returned anything and never had a problem with ordering online, customer service, shipping, processing, or privacy. I think the prices are a little high compared to other products, but I find I can get good results with less product so I think that makes it OK. There are other similar products available, but not necessarily the same formulations, so I don't really think there is any comparison. I don't know why people bother to mention product smell...their stuff smells just like every other similar organic product of the same "scent". They do a perfectly good job of telling you that if you're used to commercial products, you aren't going to transition very well if that's what you are expecting. Because their products don't contain any of those commercial type fragrance binders, the scents don't last. As is the same with perfume, it is possible for different scents to smell different on individual skin. If you want to smell a certain way, you can wear perfume - that's what it is for! I have yet to find an "unscented" product of any kind that is truly scent free - every ingredient has some kind of smell. These products are designed to clean and care for hair and skin and that is what they do! Also, do not expect these products to have a long shelf life. They don't contain the chemicals necessary to prevent spoilage of the natural oils. Any common idiot should understand that oils have particular storage requirements and a limited shelf life and they will go rancid!!! I highly doubt they are delivered rancid. If they discontinue a certain product, that's just how business is done. Maybe it wasn't a popular item, maybe they couldn't get the same ingredients and/or for the same prices or whatever. Switch to something else or move on to a different brand - simple! It's kind of ironic about the previous post because I can think of tons of horrible standard commercial products that people around me wear that I hate, but I find people wear what they like, not so much what others do or do not like. Of course, you don't want to offend, but nothing that this company is selling is going to be the cause of that! As for a restocking fee, yes that would suck, but you can easily avoid that by being certain before you place an order. It's really not hard to refuse shipment, you don't have to be there when it's delivered - just don't open it and either call UPS to have them come pick it back up or drop it off at a UPS store. This isn't a huge company and there is time/money spent/lost on cancelled and returned orders. I personally don't think returns on personal products like this should be excepted in the first place because of the sanitation/safety/storage factor - I certainly don't want someone else's returned item! read more

I have been using the Lemon Mud Wash for over a year. The shipping charge is high. The product delivery seems to take forever, but the product is very good. I wish I could buy it locally. I keep looking for an alternative because of the pain with delivery. I have kinky curly hair that has defined curls/coils when I use this wash. My curls require less product to look great. read more

I wish I would have seen the previous posts before dealing with this company. SAVE YOUR MONEY! I never received my order from them. And when I sent them an email they never responded to me. So I took matters into my own hands and continued to send them an email until I heard a response. And this is what they sent me: "We are a small company but, for our size, we're quite well-known; have you seen the feature article about us from the Washington Post, or the show about us on the Discovery Channel? We've been in business for near 20 years, with thousands of satisfied repeat customers, so we're hardly a "fly by night" outfit. All businesses, large and small, are subject to the same laws regarding fraud, scamming, etc., so you don't have anything to be concerned about there." I don't care about their feature in the Washington-Post at the end of the day I didn't get my order and they were nowhere to be found to help me out. I absolutely love the Terressentials Lip Protector but was appalled when I started to place my order for 4 tubes of it at $4.25 each. With the adding shipping of $10.70 to mail 4 lightweight tubes of the lip balm, the total came to $27.70 . . . almost $7.00 each! Although there's nothing out there I'm aware of that compares to their product, I refuse to be taken advantage of. I'm going to do as someone else suggested and look on You Tube for alternatives. read more

Wow....I'm totally shocked by all of these reviews. Firstly, these are some of the best products I have ever tried, certainly the purest. And I'm a well educated OCD organic specialist. They are a little more expensive, specially with shipping, than other store bought brands but none of them with the exception of Dr. Hauschka can even compare to how fantastic terressentials products are. And Hauschka is very expensive. Believe me I've tried them all. As far as customer service goes I've never actually been to their store so I can't comment on that. However their website is very clear, informative, and thorough. I've emailed them with a few questions before, and they've always replied thoroughly and promptly. I once mis-entered my credit card numbers, and they called me right away to let me know and get the correct information. I really think this company is a treasure and it's a shame that only reviews are scathing ones left by angry people with bad experiences. I'm sure many others have had great experiences with Terressentials. Bottom Line: I LOVE LOVE LOVE these products and have never had a problem with their company. read more

I'm a retailer. My beef with this company is it's poor customer service on all levels. Don't get me wrong.. they make a quality, clean products and customers LOVE them so we carry them, but they are hands down the worst company I've ever dealt with with 20 years of retail. As someone else said: they do not stand behind thier products and never give refunds under any circumstance. They rarely answer thier phone. They never return phone calls.. even when we are trying to place an order. Thier phone message is long, pretentious and rude. Cliff notes to my ear.. it basically says (after 5 minutes of monolauge.) "we are too busy to talk to you.. piss off if you don't like it". They loose orders. They take FOREVER to ship stuff. Thier website gets better and faster results but is one of the most convoluted and difficult order-forms I have ever had to navigate online. If not for customer loyalty and high demand.. I absolutely love Terressentials! I always buy their Sultry Spice Shampoo and also the Sultry Spice Deodorant. Some people on here have complained about customer service. A few months ago I placed an order for the shampoo, and got the wrong scent. I emailed them back and they sent me new bottles with a shipping label, so that I could send the others back. They even included a FREE lip protector! The shipping is always very fast. Normally my package arrives within 3 days. For those that say there are other products comparable (ie: Desert Essence or John Masters), those products have ingredients in them that I would never want to put on my scalp! The reason why Terressentials' products are so awesome is because all of the ingredients are in their natural form... no derivatives. No Sulfates or Alcohols. That is why these products are more expensive, they are not cutting corners using the cheap stuff that is not good for you. Also I have tried Morrocco Method's Shampoo, because they are also 100% natural in natural form). I did not find that it cleaned my hair very well. The response was taking longer than expected so I decided to call customer service and asked the rep the question and she was extremely rude. This place is FABULOUS! I have very sensitive skin and am prone to allergies and I've had a terrible time finding skin care products. Their staff was so helpful and so informated that I will definitely be visiting again! This is one place that says organic and MEANS it, I was impressed not only with the quality of their skin care line , but with the natural and certified organic ingredients. I had a lot of trouble deciding on what to buy and what I needed and the woman who helped me was so patient and helpful, it was nice to have all my questions answered and not feel rushed! I will definitely be back for more and can't wait to try out their new products, a 5 star experience in my book! read more
