if i could give no star i would!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! The gentleman that owns the store is a racist money hungry JERK!! Today I went in there just to buy hair dye and cap. As soon as walk in he starts eyeing me.. I'm a young black female.. Well here it goes. I go straight to the section where the dye is located.. I bend down to pick out my color and to get gloves! MIND YOU.. No one else is in the store but me and him. He starts to walk over/walk around the store acting like he's putting stuff where it belongs.. Which is baffling because it was early in the morning.. So I turn to get up and he says "Put that sh*t back and get out my store". I had literally just put the dye on the floor and started looking at gloves... I ask what was the problem and he had the audacity to accuse me of trying to steal.. Then continued to curse at me for no reason at all!! So of course i want tolerating ANY type of disrespect regardless of who it is and spoke my peace and left.. While I was speaking my peace i had someone on the phone with me and i said "The only reason why he watching me is because i'm black" He then says "why do you people say that" uummmm excuse me what do you mean "you people" so that means he has DEFINITELY done this type of ridiculous action before. He's a complete disgrace.. I then went to the other supply store and expressed What had just happened to find out. He has the WORSE hair store reputation in Frederick.. If you were to go there and ask him for the footage of this whole scene.. you would see it's ridiculous!! UPDATE FOR THE STORE OWNER first off david why would i make up a sorry? to get what from it? i don't even own a hair store nor do hair. so explain what can i possibly get? not a darn thing.. and from what I see you didn't pull the tape after all.. why would someone make up a story just to make a terrible review about a store with similar terrible reviews about your piss poor customer service.. you don't even know how that day changed the way i look at EVERY hair store that's not owned by B.A. Yelp has allowed the review to stay up due to again similar post stating the same.. Learn accountability and apologize to the people he is/were rude to and tried to accuse of a horrendous allegations LIKE YOU BLATANTLY JUST DID. i should've called the police that day to get it PROPERLY documented and investigated since you had/have a problem doing so/accepting the truth David the coon. But YOU ALL SEE David gets on here instead and tried to wipe his ass clean of the crap that's BEEN going on. To the point again Sally Beauty right across the way said people ALWAYS said something about this particular man and his customer service towards people. and not just black people either. If this store isn't shut down it needs to be.. spend your money else where and with people that actually gives a damn about the way they approach customers and potential clients!! crazy to think it was this store has a rep of coonery! smh... save you time peace and energy. take your beautiful self to another hair store. I've shopped a lot of beauty supply stores in the surrounding area, but have not seen one quite like this place anywhere, except maybe in Glenmont, which I just found out, was their other store until last year! It's small.....and they definitely don't have everything, like so many of the other grocery store size places around, that are so over-crowded & cramped, packed full of all kinds of stuff (junk!), not just beauty products. What they do have is a great mix of fine quality stuff, displayed in a very neat & organized way, that made it a pleasure to shop through. The man that runs the place is extremely knowledgeable about all types of hair, and was very helpful in finding me a deep conditioner for my stressed out hair. Even though I am a P.O.C., his knowledge went beyond race. He just KNOWS about hair.....and he's a white guy! Wonders never cease! I also was looking for a nice wig, and again, while he's carries far less than these other places, what he does carry is real nice quality, at real nice prices, and his knowledge of wigs & extensions is as on point as his knowledge of hair products too. I'm just sayin'.....it's refreshing to see a place so different from all the rest, & I love supporting my local "Mom & Pop" shops like his. I'll be adding this place to my list of "favs", for sure. read more

The racist white man who owns this establishment is unbelievably rude upon entry. The ONLY reason I came here today was because Beauty Max is closed on Sundays. If I could give this place lower than a 1 star rating it'd indeed have one. Not sure why people like him open places and sell merchandise intended for POC if they're going to hurry them out of the place. I went for a wig cap and he immediately said "what are you looking for!?" in a rushed, urgent tone. Can't believe this place is still running. Please beware. read more

Just wanted to give a "thank you Jesus" moment to David for saving the day, or should I say my hair, with his knowledge and guidance to select the right products to correct my DIY dye job. oops! I have purchased blow dryers, shampoo, clippers and other supplies from Classic for years but this is the first time I needed to navigate the hair color aisle. Probably should have started with David first then I wouldn't need to be correcting my color, I'd be admiring it! hmmm, now I know. Thank you David!! read more

I would give them a 10++++ if possible. Their customer service is outstanding. Have been going to them for over 5 years. Wide selection of products and David is absolutely the best. Prices cannot be beat and quality of products is great. Highly recommend them. read more
