    Liberty station...
    Jerry M.

Great location at the Liberty Station market. Lots of restaurants, shopping and its just a pretty scenic place to go for a stroll while you charge. 12 Fast 250kw chargers here too. There are also lots of non Tesla chargers sprinkled around the immediate area as well. On the negative side it was very crowded and expect there to be 3-4 Teslas ahead of you. There is no handicapped Tesla charging option. They could probably double the number of chargers here and there would still be a wait. Also the particular row where the superchargers are located is narrow and seems to be a natural streaming pedestrian route so be extra careful backing into your spot. Its also kind of pricey to charge here. Good place to charge because of the fast chargers and shopping on one hand, but on the other hand its a bit stressful with the charging backlog and relentless pedestrian traffic around the superchargers.

Super fast charging. Can't locate what version these are but they worked super well. Depending on time can be pricy - .68¢ when I visited. Was headed this way from Coronado so made sense to fill up here as there's zero Tesla support on Coronado island.

Solid superchargers, the newer versions. Luckily there is plenty to do in the area so you don't have to wait in your car.

(That's a separate review, though.) When you drive into this location, you feel like you are driving into a private, charming, small town. It is so pretty, with trees everywhere and multiple buildings with things to do, like the diner and golfing. All family-friendly. You can take a leisurely stroll, walk, jog, or takd bike ride down the block, and it feels both pleasant and secure. I absolutely loved the overall vibe of the place. Parking was so easy to find as well; it felt like a beautiful giant park. We had a wait to enter Convertte Diner, so we took a stroll, and my kids had a blast just running around the fields. Highly recommend for anyone who just wants to take a walk or check out any of the establishments.

Changed out of our skates and all of found a place to purchase whatever food we wanted to eat from the Public Market (there's over 20+ restaurants inside of this place!) Sat outdoors. I wanted something similar to SF Golden Gate 6th Ave park area where we can skate around in a small area then skate off if we wanted to. This place was perfect. It was not overly crowded and was chill. I have skated on the boardwalk which is often crowded and with the number of friends I had, it would not have been so ideal. I highly recommend this spot for skating and eating with friends.

The Central Library has easily become one of my favorite libraries to visit. I don't get down here…read moreoften since I don't live nearby, but every time I do, I make a beeline for the ninth floor. It's an incredible space dedicated to genealogy and history, making it the perfect place to dive into family research. This visit was especially meaningful because I brought family members who were visiting from out of town. As we prepare for an upcoming family reunion while also grieving the recent loss of a loved one, we were able to uncover photographs of family members we had never seen before. It was an emotional and unforgettable experience that made our visit truly special. One of the best features is that the library offers free access to genealogy resources like Ancestry Library Edition and other historical databases that have helped me piece together my family's story. I also recently learned that every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., volunteer genealogy specialists are available to help the public--for free! I'll definitely be returning during those hours because researching family history often feels like peeling back the layers of an onion. Every discovery leads to another story waiting to be told. The only downside is the parking. The library offers two hours of free covered parking, which sounds generous until you get immersed in research. Time flies when you're digging through historical records, and two hours disappears quickly. If possible, I'd recommend taking the trolley to avoid having to move your car or pay expensive parking fees--especially considering the library is just a short walk from Petco Park. You can also opt to take your car out every 2 hours ans re-park in the garage.... Ijs One thing to keep in mind is that on Padres game days, the library parking garage may close early to accommodate game-day parking. While I understand why they do it, it can be frustrating if you're planning a long research session. Overall, I highly recommend this library. Whether you're researching your family tree, looking for a peaceful place to study, or simply wanting a quiet escape from the city, the ninth floor is an absolute treasure. It's one of San Diego's best-kept secrets, and if you haven't experienced it yet, you're missing out. As always... you can thank me later.

Absolutely Wonderful Anniversary Getaway at the Hotel del Coronado…read more My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a beautiful weekend stay at the iconic Hotel del Coronado in a King Room with an Oceanview Balcony. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. The two young ladies who checked us in were an absolute delight. They looked like sisters but are actually best friends, and their genuine warmth and kindness made the start of our stay so memorable. The concierge was equally fantastic, ensuring our bags were delivered quickly and that we were comfortably settled in our room. The property itself is breathtaking...! The meticulously maintained gardens and stunning California coastal location provided the perfect romantic setting. We enjoyed outstanding fine dining experiences at both Nobu del Coronado and Seréa. What truly touched us was returning to our room to find a thoughtful happy anniversary card and a small box of delicious chocolates from the front desk team. It was such a sweet and personal touch. We were genuinely sad to leave and will absolutely be returning. Thank you to the entire team at the Hotel del Coronado for making our anniversary weekend so special!

For the exorbitant rates they charge, the actual quality of the resort and service is appalling. You are paying top-tier, five-star prices for what feels like a glorified, chaotic public park. The hotel offers zero exclusivity. They allow literally anyone off the street to wander onto the property, swarm the oceanfront areas, and clog up the grounds. It is perpetually wall-to-wall crowded regardless of whether you're paying thousands to stay there, making it completely impossible to relax. You will constantly fight for space alongside crowds of day-trippers who aren't even staying at the resort. The "Beach" Is a Biohazard. Don't let the marketing photos fool you--the beach directly on the resort property is an absolute health hazard. Due to ongoing toxic wastewater and raw sewage runoff flowing up from Tijuana, the ocean water is contaminated with bacteria. It is unsafe to swim in, plagued by pollution advisories, and completely unusable. What is the point of paying for a "world-class beach resort" when you can't even touch the water without risking illness?

Argument with staff about providing identification again to get our luggage and our room. We were patient until my wife started having a difficult time finding her ID and I finally said she just checked us in 30 minutes ago "you don't remember us"? Staff says I check in a lot of people I don't remember you. After a little bit more discussion, she says your luggage is right over there confirming she did remember us. A little bit more petty bickering from Marriott employees than I'm used to and reluctance and resistance to take accountability for not providing up to Marriott standard service she gives us our room. It's not the room that we paid for which was a Bay Harbor view not a pool view. We are too tired and in a little bit in a hurry now to get to our restaurant reservation for the night My wife turns on the bathwater and it's coming out brown I go to see staff again. They say that an engineer will come up. I'm thinking to myself how an engineer will fix this brown water coming out of the tap. I go back down and speak with management. They change our room. I will never come back here. On a sidenote, the engineer told my wife the brown color was disinfectant. Apparently our new room didn't have any disinfectant in the bathwater.
