As I don't live in the SD area, I am solely dependent on calling SW and or using their website. For YEARS, Google Chrome has tried to block access 'due to an unsecure site' to the SW website and it seems only in the last couple of weeks that may have been rectified. With that said, even when you can access the site to order a part, it's slower than molasses and even more difficult to find the part you're looking for. When you do call and press #1 for parts, either nobody answers, you get a call answering (and nobody ever calls back), or as was the case again today, the system wouldn't even connect with parts. I have ordered things in the past and SW has a great selection, but why does it have to be so very painful? read more

This place is awesome! I was traveling to San Diego from Hawaii for a celebration of life and popped in to Scooter West on a Saturday hoping to have a key made and coded for et4. The service staff was busy but still squeezed me in and cut and coded a new key for me which was super helpful because we don't have a Vespa dealership here in Hawaii. Very Nasty and Rude people. I got a 1959 Vespa/Sears Allstate and I just got a Black intake hose what they sold me more a 2005 Vespa PX150. I said " I don't think that would fit but I sure hope it fits". I was told "It will". We'll it didn't so I sent a email asking what part I should get and they told me to get the same part.​ So then I called to try and talk to them and the guy on The phone didn't want to hear what I had to say.Whatsoever and I was just trying to tell him that I just got that part and it didn't fit and he said that i'm not gonna be selling anything to you and disconnect the phone on me.... Worst experience ever.. Ordered a carburetor and they blocked my order for possible fraud because I chose to have it shipped overnight (at my own cost ) .. Called them to fix the issue providing my CC info and ID ...I was told that there was no need to ship overnight as choosing the UPS 2 day ground deliver I will get my carburetor by Thursday.. TC never told me a deposit on ordered scooter was non-refundable? The next day not 24 hours when I decided to cancel because they could not give delivery date, he said I'd forfeit deposit? Saying the Vespa was already allocated? I confirmed with Vespa piaggio import director in New York that no allocation had been processed yet, therefore I was entitled to refund. I called back then they double charged me accident and made me pay a fee of $100 processing fee? I dint mind just don't like being lied to but TC about the allocation. Now they won't service my Vespa making me the bad guy ? So sad they won't own their mistake and offer apology? read more

Unbelievable, they didn't have to do that and I didn't even ask. They sell junk. Sold me a backrest that came with the wrong directions, wrong drill pattern, and wrong number of screws. Much worse was the top rack/trunk. First, the quick release didn't work. Then, the lock to the lid didn't work either. Total junk. The response from ScooterWest was, and I quote, "Thats a bummer." No customer service whatsoever. read more

I found Scooter West on YouTube and based on their videos I ordered some accessories (crash bars for front and rear) for my Vespa Sprint 150. I received the bars with no instructions and to make the issue worse, it was missing mounting HW. I have contacted and communicated with Max Stromberger ("Max") numerous times to get the missing HW, and the guy stops responding. I live in Boston area, and they know I will not be able to swing by to their shop to get my money back. At this point, I am giving up on these losers as a rip-off store. The point of sale aspect was pleasant. Until.....they get your money. After that......I cannot recommend them as a business. With regards to customer service. If you end up needing it. It is not there. Phone calls after the sale are received as bothersome. Defective products received will cost you to send back and then again to reship. The price of experience costs money. Ordered an exhaust system - it came right away but for some reason does not fit my 2010 GTS 300S. Some quirk somewhere and, I think, not ScooterWest's fault. Had a long talk with Max about the return and about a different system. He could not have been more helpful or patient. These guys are great. I lost the brown key (Vespa owners you know what that used to mean $500 bucks at the Vespa dealer) and code card for my 300GT Vespa GTV. They were able to cut two new keys and sent them to me in a few days. I had some other repair issues that required me to send them an intake manifold. Brought my computer (ECU) from Los Angeles to have these guys program me some new keys which the one by me in Sherman Oaks does not do. The guy who programs the keys took off while I was there do to a miscommunication from the service writer behind the counter. When the guy found out that I was there waiting, he came back and programmed my keys. Steve felt bad that I had to wait so he loaned me a scooter and gave me a gift card to Firehouse subs so I could go for a cruise and eat while I was waiting. I just bought my second Vespa scooter from Scooter West, and I will continue to buy all my scooters, scooter parts, and maintenance from them as well. I love this place! Sometimes I just stop by to chat, talk about scooter stuff, look at all the cool apparel and scooter goodies, or drink a cappuccino. Steve will make you one while you wait! They love to meet new people and share/swap stories. Plus they put together fun group rides, they hold philanthropic events, they regularly email info to all their customers, and their maintenance department is top notch. I needed, or thought I needed, a starter relay and starter motor for a friends LX50. I ordered the parts from these guys. I then commenced on a front room flooring project that morphed into wainscotting, painting, installing recessed lights on a new dimmer, crowne moulding etc...turned into this huge project. So I didn't touch the parts for months after they arrived because all my construction tools were around my motorcycle lift and my wife was on my a s s to get this room completed. It turns out that I totally misdiagnosed the problem...the guy only needed a new battery! I discovered this while trying to start it while holding the brake lever in.... Anyway, I called Scooter West and was told that returns are valid for only a month and it had been a few months since i had the parts. I called explaining my situation and hoped they'd have empathy for me. FABIO told me to send them back and he'll see what he could do about getting me a refund. I sent the parts back and they credited my PayPal account. They said that they'd rather have a happy repeat customer than lose a customer! My father also has a scooter, so he is right!
