I hate to give a small business a low rating, but this is worth a post. I was shocked to see the size and price of the meal. We spent $28 for a small box of chicken and rice (the size you'd get from a Thai restaurant for $15. This is a large and for two people. A tiny bag - seriously tiny of 4 small pita bread. 1 oz of garlic sauce, I added two together to make it full to 2oz. And I'm waiting for the rebuttal of why the container is 1/2 full. I've had the same lackluster experienance here before several years back. I don't know why I decided to go there, when I have my regular go to spot. I want people to see the size of the box and decide if rice and 3 pieces of chicken is worth $25. Yes, I get the food allergy people and awards! But let's focus on the food portion. I am surprised the reviews are as high as they are! This is Genesee county, so I get it. This wouldn't fly in Detroit. I won't personally return. First time coming to Teta's Grill and it did not disappoint! I felt VERY safe eating here as they are dedicated gluten, dairy, and egg free. Upon walking in, we were greeted and asked if anybody in our group had allergies. The owner came out to our table to greet us and explain how everything on the menu is gluten, dairy, and egg free, aside from their chicken tenders and desserts. He is very genuine and friendly, and it's evident how proud he is of his business- as he should be!! Food was amazing and the garlic dip was to die for!! Trying to find a place that's knowledgeable about gluten allergies/ cross contamination tends to be a hassle and always makes me anxious about eating out, so I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. My wife and I came in last minute on Saturday and they were so gracious to serve us and have his kitchen prepare us the most delicious meal. Sam is so good at his customer service! The restaurant is so clean and the food is one of a kind. They use the best ingredients and it reminds me of some of the really high-end places that my wife and I go to in Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles areas. Don't be fooled by its quaint location! Excellent lamb, average everything else, and just .... weird. First, reservations are required, not optional. Which is weird for a place that has literally 5 tables and ALL of the other tables were empty the entire time we were there. Next, when you arrive you are treated to a dissertation about their impeccable health department inspections. I think we got the speech from two separate people. That's awesome, but most people kinda expect restaurants to be clean and pass health inspections. I'm here for good food, not your A+ health inspection. It was weird. But I digress. I ordered lamb and baba ghanouj. Lamb was perfect. A lovely medium to medium rare, juicy. The baba could use less tahini and more eggplant, but it was serviceable. The pita came in little sandwich bags and was okay. Not much in a bag, but they replenished the bread any time we asked. Hubby's rice was okay as well. Not awful, not awesome. You could also order a "side" of olives for $1.49. I was expecting good-quality olives. I was not expecting a couple of tablespoons of canned sliced olives in a small condiment container. These are the canned sliced black olives that a pizzeria might use on a pizza. Upcharging for craptacular olives when your specialty is LEBANESE food is, again, weird. Like I said, we sat in the restaurant all by ourselves. The other four tables were completely empty, but had "reserved" signs on them. A lady and her kid came in, looking to have dinner. The girl behind the counter indicated that they had two tables reserved for dinner. The lady pointed out the obvious -- this left two tables up for grabs. And we were nearly done, so our table would be empty soon. The girl stated that they would be happy to bring food to the woman's car but that they weren't taking any more dinner reservations. The woman and her daughter left annoyed. Frankly, I would have left annoyed too. So, to be clear, the restaurant had ONE table occupied at the time the woman entered the restaurant, and would only have TWO tables occupied at the busiest point of the evening, leaving three empty tables. Why would you insist that people eat in their car in order to get food when there are available tables? My speculation is that the same OCD that gets the restaurant consistent 100% health department inspections also does NOT permit the flexibility to allow a "walk-in" reservation. While the former works to serve the business, the latter does not. Turning down business is just a weird business model. UPDATE: Sorry, Sam ... I can't let you get away with giving people the impression that this lady and her kid showed up at 6:30 to eat, and you turned her away because "your reservations stop at 6:30pm." We got there at 4:50 and left at 5:42. The lady got there around 5:30. And the place was far from "very short staffed." read more

Stumbled upon this gem while stopped for dinner on a long car trip. The staff was super; great recommendations and information. While everything was delicious, the real star of the show was the garlic dip. The scratch-made sauces and spice blends were unique and fabulous - we even took a bottle of pomegranate hot sauce home! What a great experience dining here! We were instantly greeted by friendly owners and staff. They went through the menu with us and helped us choose three awesome dishes everyone loved. (I'm kicking myself for not ordering extra baba to go, it was so good) They're very attentive and a fantastic spot for kids. My daughter loved it here. Baklava and Namoura is a must! Walking through the door started an array of employees stopping to say hello and share some history of the restaurant and awards won. Then Sam the owner stepped out from the kitchen to spend a few minutes sharing his passion about his restaurant. The food and service were fresh and flavorful. Lemon and rice soup, garlic spread, hummas( best I've had), and Lamb tenderloin cutlets that were nice size and seasoned well. To go with the lamb was yellow rice that was flavorful and moist. Visiting my family in Michigan from Portland, OR. The Flint Staple is Badawest, and I still love that place. Teta's Grill, lead by the owner Sam, is something special. We ordered the Hummus with Chicken Shawarma, Spicy Lamb Gallaba, and the Lamb Tenderloin Filet Shawarma Plate. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Lamb filet was cooked an even medium and, as a surprise, game with a full LB of Filet. The service was a 5/5. Both Sam and the rest of the staff greet all the customers at the entrance and take pride in the business. It is ridiculously clean. Would highly recommend this for those that enjoy/love middle eastern food. read more

Tucked into a small shopping center off of W. Pierson Rd is an extraordinary family-owned restaurant that you simply can't miss even if, like we were, you are traveling home to Cleveland from a northern Michigan vacation. With three hours to go and trailing a 19' sailboat we hadn't had any food since an early morning breakfast. Both of us are dedicated to healthy quality food and yet, as we were heading south on the 75 we were faced with one greasy fast food restaurant after the other. Dismayed (and famished) I did a search on Google maps....still no luck. Then, out of nowhere Teta's Lebanese Grill pops up and I thought, "Could it be as good as it looks from the menu?" It wasn't. It was SO much better than we could ever have imagined. The chef-owner was the first to greet us, well actually no, it was the scent of his cuisine that greeted us, then his confident, enthusiasm! Soon we were surrounded by the delightful wait staff serving us drinks and tableware. Mind you, the chef is overseeing everything and everyone from the minute you step into his restaurant. After giving us a few minutes to situate ourselves he reappears and presents, pridefully, the philosophy of his cuisine. No fillers, 97% Gluten free, Dairy free, pure olive oil, pure fresh squeezed lemons etc. He made suggestions which we quickly agreed to; hummus (spectacular), garlic cup ( beyond description it was so good) and the Chefs Special Platter which consisted of the most delicious lamb and chicken with rice we have eaten in ages! Everything about this place is incredible: food, service, everything. Owner Sam is about as energetic and involved as one could be. It was great to talk to him and see how proud he is (in a good way) of his restaurant. Adriana was my waitress and she is very pleasant, smart and insightful with the menu. My recommendation: deboned chicken, rice and a side of the falafel. Best falafel I've ever had - and I've had lots. If you have a gluten allergy or prefer vegetarian, even more highly recommended. We were passing through town looking for fresh healthy food. My friend and I both like Lebanese food and decided to give this a try. We ordered the sampler which included: grape leaves, baba ganoush, hummus, garlic sauce/dip, tabuouli and pita bread. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We split this dish and each of us also got the lentil soup. The soup was very healthy and fresh. The owner came out to introduce himself and gave us the story of how he opened. He has such passion and positive energy for his restaurant. He prides himself on how clean his restaurant is and he passed all inspections without any violations which is very hard in the restaurant industry. read more

One of the most bizarre dining experiences I have ever encountered. While traveling, we went out of our way to stop by based on high Yelp/Google ratings. Upon entry, we saw an empty restaurant except for one occupied table. All tables had "reserved" markers blocking you from sitting. This was at 2pm... on a Monday...for lunch. Unlikely that all tables were actually reserved. Then came the highlight of this odd experience. Our attention was drawn to their display board of cleanliness awards with a brief presentation about how they have received no citations. This would be akin to buying an airplane ticket and having the airline explain that they haven't crashed in ten years. Or a hospital boasting about their low death rates when you show up for your surgery. These are things you take for granted and not worthy of a feature presentation!! Anyway, we reluctantly ordered to-go food knowing that we would need to try to eat this with our two children in the car or find some kind of shelter outside in the rainstorm. After about 20 minutes the food was delivered to the car. We sat in the to-go parking space and noticed that only a single person had entered the place. And the one occupied table had now vacated. One more request was made to allow us and our kids to eat at a table. Once again... denied. Instead we awkwardly sat in the car in front of the restaurant and ate the food (after having to make yet another trip inside of the empty restaurant to get utensils that were not provided the first time). The food was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but tasty. For this, they earn a 2-star review. If you are a local who is willing to get take-out, go for it. If you are from out of town and/or want a place with hospitality (or even a table to sit at), then I would choose somewhere else to go. We won't be back. read more

We stumbled upon this place off the highway after looking for mediterranean foods in the area. So glad we did!! Sam (which I assume is the owner) was beyond welcoming and the service was top notch. They made sure we knew everything we were ordering and wanted to make sure they did it right. It is a veey clean eating place...meat is Halal and everything is fresh. Sam was profoundly rude to me when I questioned his cashier about the cost of my meal. I ordered a bowl with 3 items, my total was almost twenty dollars. I paid for my food when I noticed the daily special that was posted on the board about a bowl with 4 items for 14.99. Yes it was my mistake for not noticing it prior to my order. I understand that , I simply asked if I could not change my order just get the better price with an additional side. Obviously it is a better deal to get four items in a bowl for 14.99 than three items for 20. He became very irritated and WOULD NOT STOP INTERRUPTING ME AND SPEAKING OVER ME. He yelled at me for parking in the to go parking and not calling my order in prior, even though my order was to go. He also said twice " not everybody works for you" whatever that means. I told him he was being extremely rude and asked him two times to allow me to speak, he would not, and he completely ignored me and left to the back of the restaurant. He came back and threw my food in the garbage, refunded my first purchase and recharged me the new price. I don't know the point in throwing away the first order, all he had to do is add my tabbouleh. Much to my surprise he made it his personal mission to make my order and it took nearly 15 minutes when the first one took less than 5. I personally felt this was intentional just to be spiteful. I honestly was shocked at his unprofessional behavior and blatant disrespect. The entire situation should have been handled much differently. Even the sweet older woman that works there quietly whispered " sorry " to me with a sad face. I am not a difficult person, I am always kind and welcoming to everyone. I certainly don't side with the "customer is always right" bullshit. I know for certain I did not deserve the treatment I received today. I have eaten at Tetas for years and always loved the food. This was truly a disappointing experience. When I opened my bowl at work MY ORDER WAS INCORRECT, unlikely an accident. I called and spoke with Sam and he stated he knew who it was already. Strange. I told him repeatedly my order was not correct and he repeatedly said that was what I ordered. I have never in my life ate hummus and that was in place of my tabbouleh. He even went as far as telling me "I know what's in your bowl, I prepared your meal and took a picture of it." Again, strange. He was extremely smug and curt knowing my order was incorrect and he offered no solution. I can not wait to see how Sam responds to this, undoubtedly he will continue to be rude. read more

The food here was pretty good. I ordered a spicy shish tawook sandwich, w/lentil soup and fries, and it didn't disappoint. The owner, Sam, came out to greet and tell us about the restaurant and asked how everything was, which was appreciated. After receiving the bill from the waitress, she explained the lemon slices I ordered with my glass of tap water was going to be $.50. Not sure I have ever been charge for 3 slices of lemon, but I guess this is normal here. I plan to be back at some point. read more

My friend and I had a great experience at Teta's Grill! Their food is amazing! The entire staff was very helpful and attentive. The owner was also very kind and gave us free samples and dessert on the house which was amazing. The only reason I am not giving them a full five stars is because I felt like they were a little overwhelming about checking on us. They asked us about every 5 minutes how the food was. My sisters and I checked out Teta's and thought it was pretty good. I'm a vegetarian so can't speak for the Chicken kabobs but the tabouli was fresh and tasty, the hummus was delicious with a great consistency and the pita was light and delicate. The vegetarian falafel was not too spicy and was fried to perfection. I hate it when falafel is fried so deeply it rips off the roof of your mouth! None of that business at Teta's. We were treated to toasted pita chips and dip as well as dessert pastries and took the leftovers home. I'll go back especially for the hummus and those pita chips! read more

Really disappointed. Wish I could give negative star review. This was the worst Mediterranean food I've ever had. Not even as good as mall food. My party arrived before I did and ordered food & had it to the table within minutes ie: preprepared and sitting in the kitchen all day, basically not fresh or hot, small portions, clumpy rice and I would not feed the chicken to my dog. Equal price to Tahboon. Save your time, money and stomach. I will be amazed if they stay in business a month. That will not float in this town.
