So sad to report this story as this is one of my favorite local neighborhood bars with GREAT food and GREAT staff. I personally have been a huge supporter of this establishment since the split happened many moons ago. My friends and I frequent here at least twice a week because of the amazing staff. Last night we ordered the Touchdown Sampler and found a hair in our Boudin. Being extremely grossed out by the matter we calmly flagged down our waitress and showed her the situation at hand. She handled it very well and offered up something else for us to eat. Because of the hair we did not want to have the sampler again so she suggested nachos, done. We had a few nachos but overall didn't eat too much as everyone was still a little thrown off and slightly grossed out. We are not naïve to think that sometimes things like this happen. Most of us are in the food service industry, we do understand however; it is how you handle it that makes or breaks you. We received our bill and noticed we were charged for the Nachos. It was somewhat implied that they were offering it up complimentary to fix the mistake so we asked for a manager. Dustin approached our table with a "bouncer" attitude if you will, which set the tone right away. We are at a bar, yes, so drinks have been consumed.... I would imagine he is used to dealing with that from time to time, right? Instead of handling the situation by apologizing for the hair and offering up some 2$ nachos (at their cost) as a "please come back and again" he became argumentative with my friend demanding we pay for the nachos. The argument was heated between the two of them and handled so very unprofessionally by this manager. As a manager of a BAR you would think you could handle things a little calmer, more collective and know how to handle unhappy customers. I paid for my friends bill and tipped out the waitress well as I believe she did a great job in handling the situation. Long story short, there is too much competition coming to this side of the tracks with great food and great staff as well and I rather frequent a place that knows how to treat and handle sticky situations. If Dustin likes to get into arguments often with customers he should go be a bouncer at some bar in Houston where that type of behavior might be more warranted. Won't be returning to this place until he is no longer there. read more

So my wife and I gave this place another try...why you ask? Cuz the wife had a taste for crawfish...Happy Wife = Happy Life! Since we know how this place is, we called ahead to see if they had them in stock and what the price was...we were told they had them and they were a popular item for $6.99/lb. We head that way and are in seats approximately 5 minutes later...Had to find a clean table among several dirty tables...We noticed that they weren't really busy and they had 1 waitress plus 2 supporting males working the floor. Waitress finally came over 10 minutes later and we placed our order of 2# of crawfish and I will need a menu...Waitress comes back a few minutes later to apologize that they are out of crawfish...WTF since we had just called minutes before to verify. We left with me reminding my wife to "never let us come here again!" Suggest another new owner with a new name...reset the clock on this business. read more

Tewbeleaux gumbo is ew. Rice on the bottom, not top, didn't specify what kind of gumbo, a few very thin slices of overcooked sausage, and some chicken in a sauce that looked like cream of gumbo and actually formed glops when it cooled. Enjoy! read more

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. We ate lunch here with 2 kids and 2 adults and EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. We commented on how good the chips and salsa were, then the kids' mac and cheese with bread crumbs and bacon was great, the wings were better than Buffalo Wild Wings, and the house quesadillas were fantastic. And to top it off the service was fast and friendly. Next time we're on that side of town we'll go out of our way to go back. read more

We've been coming to this bar for years and it is a great neighborhood sports bar. The chicken tenders can not be beat! I've always enjoyed the fish tacos but have been disappointed 4 out of the last 5 times I've ordered it. It is supposed to have a "lemon slaw" which is delicious and adds a lot to the flavor profile. Unfortunately lately it's been served with only shredded unseasoned cabbage. I hope this oversight can be corrected soon. read more

Bad Business - went there to watch Mayweather v McGregor fight. Charged $30 bucks per person. Weather was bad before hand and I asked the manager and server how it would be handled if the weather knocked out the reception. Female manager and server said it would be refunded - no questions asked. I asked a second question, "What if it was only the main event that was knocked out?" Same response was given - refund of money. Well, every preliminary fight made it through - reception went out right before main event. We waited an hour before we had to leave. Asked the security/manager and was told he would not refund our money. Said it would come back on and we had to wait until 2:30 am (when the closed) to make sure it didn't come back on. Then after waiting until 2:30, we'd have to come back the next day to pick up he money. This place is DISHONEST and a bunch of hustlers. Never again will I ever come back or recommend this place. Piss poor management to hustle 30 bucks during a storm - warm beer and bad food wasn't worth the hassle. read more

Football Thursday... Lots of beer choices. ... plenty of big screens, fast service, and lousy bar food. The cajun twist makes this bar more interesting but it's actually not. ... Gumbo and boudin on the menu. However their wings are teeny tiny.... The Salad warm out of the bag, and the sweet potatoe fries vastly over priced. This used to be the Tailgator's on Rayford. Don't really know why they changed the name, but it is essentially the exact same place. Pros: Really good food. Plenty of beers on tap. Lots of t.v.'s, though they don't always get the college sports they should (didn't show the Aggie game last weekend and I personally observed 4 tables get up and walk out because of it). Golden tee, etc. Cons: Their service is pretty god awful. I sat at a table in the middle of the place when it was not really crowded. Fifteen minutes later, I finally got service by just raising my hand until they were forced to come to the table. This is one example, their service ALWAYS leaves much to be desired. Bottom line: If the owner is reading this, you could have a great restaurant/sports bar if you make sure your waitresses focus on service. read more

Ate here last week for lunch, had not been in a while. Overall excellent. I have had issues with the service at night but the lunch service today was top notch. While they only had one waitress, she was great. Order came out in less than 15 minutes and I special ordered my chicken sandwich plain and that's what I got. The only down sides was I though the spice on the blacked was a bit mild to even more lemon butter tasting vs cajun spicy I like. Manager came by afterwards to make sure everything was up to par, great to see a manager who cares. This was real close to a 5 star but I try to save that for when everything is perfect. I am a tad surprised with the feedback on this place but after all I am one to judge on expectations versus unreason. Ok... This is a local Spring bar and to my understanding wasn't built for people to flock to long and far. It is a locals joint to catch cold drink, good conversation and pub grub. If your standards are filet and lobster tails (go and rate elsewhere). Food is good, not life changing event propped by known worthy executive chefs. Waiters, bartenders and patrons are all friendly and know your name by second visit! If you are local or passing through, don't hesitate to stop at this place if cold drinks and good company are in order! We were at the volleyball facility next done for a tournament on Saturday evening. As the last game was wrapping up, I walked over here to see if they would be able to accommodate our group of 17. I spoke to the manager (unfortunately did not catch his name) and the service from that point on was fantastic! Although they were pretty busy, he and his staff did everything possible to accommodate our group of kids and adults, separate checks, special requests... all the things that make most restaurant employees give you evil looks. None of us are from the area, but I know where "tew" go this next time we are in Spring. The food was great too... not a single complaint every with 6 teenage girls in tow! Very happy customers... The burgers and fried foods are good and always done right. But any real native of South Louisiana as the owner claims to be.....(and is a Alabama fan...WTF !!!) knows you don't cook your crawfish then cover them with seasoning after. This is a very easy, cheap way to cook them and its a total shame that most everyone in this Great State of Texas believe that this is the correct way to make Cajun style crawfish. the flavor goes IN the water first. read more

So close to my house, wish the service and food was a little better. Waited over 30 minutes for our order at 4:45 with hardly anyone here. Our waitress however was great, very attentive. The food is mediocre, the 4 orders included BLT w/ red beans and rice, will never order the red beans and rice again, just terrible. Hubby had the grilled chicken/mashed potatoes, was ok. Son had hamburger which he enjoyed and daughter had Cajun chicken pasta, the pasta was watery and the chicken was dry. So in summary, order the hamburgers and have time to kill. read more

Nice size sports bar in front of my neighborhood so the convenience is great. They have a big bar with lots of tvs, when there is a big game or fight on you better get there early as it gets packed quick. They have a big menu w lots of choices and crawfish during season. The food is ok considering its bar food.. Lots of greasy choices but they also have healthier salad options as well. Prices are average. If you order take out make sure you check your order, they have messed mine up twice. The bar is non smoking during the day, there is a tiny patio outside the smokers gather on. After 9:00pm look out though, the bar turns into a smoke filled room so if you are sensitive to smoke avoid this place in the evening. I'll go back just because of the convenience, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place. It's a fun place to meet friends if you can handle the smoke. read more

The Cajun pasta has just the right amount of spice and the shrimp here is literally the best grilled shrimp I have ever had. It's fun, colorful, and definitely a new favorite spot. Highly recommend it yall! You won't regret it. read more

So far we have been there for a few lunches and quite a few dinners. Everything we have had so far has been really good. The dry rub ranch double fried wings are the BEST, and crawfish is excellent as well. Nice and loud so our baby doesn't disturb anyone. Nothing to write home about. As soon as you walk in you get hit with the smell of stale smoke instead of food. The service wasn't great at first- but it got better after we ordered. I had a French dip sandwich that was pretty good, but the smell of cigarettes made it less appetizing. Portions are nicely sized, servers are friendly, but overworked sometimes. They could do some work on their sauces (a tartar sauce made the day before in the kitchen will always taste better than out of the bottle). We've never been disappointed, but always wanted them to step up their kitchen game a notch. Prices are very reasonable for the area (2 adult meals with an app, ~$40, with drinks ~$60). No complaints, depending on how much you want to spend. It's a go-to for a "we're going out to eat because *insert adult life reason* place.
