I accidentally found this place by milling around old downtown Greenville. Civilization is rapidly finding Greenville. After visiting the Tax office to unwillingly ( ok,I'll admit, willingly) giving them some money,I crossed the street to investigate. Walking around back I was literally ushered into this great little place by an employee striding confidently to work. I ordered a morning blend and enjoyed it while looking at art. Me and my friend received a free voucher for this place so we decided to try it since we wanted to explore our area a bit more. However, the cashier made a few comments that did not sit well with me and made me feel dumb. I ordered a BBQ Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese and it was very underwhelming, it wasn't bad but it wasn't that great. I got it for free because of the voucher but the price for a bag of chips and a sandwich thats normally sized I guess was $15.99.... The coffee was watered down and tasted like hot coffee with ice and syrup flavoring, I know it's considered "classy" but the vibe was very off. The crowd is majority white older folks so be prepared to get stared at if you don't "fit in" We also came because they have a free live performance but it ended before 12:30 even though it advertises live performances from 7-2 There's also a space thats says Lounge but when we went to check it out the door was locked. Received two free vouchers so my friend and I decided to try this place. The customer service is okay but when we told the cashier it was our first time here, some of her comments did make us feel a bit nervous and dumb. After receiving our food and drinks, which took the food runner multiple conversations to remember what we ordered after taking our numbers too soon, we decided to enter the theatre. The live performance had ended before 12:30, despite being told it would continue until 2pm. The food is pretty decent & fairly priced. The drinks aren't the best. The majority of the crowd here is older white people so if that isn't you, expect people to be staring at you. read more

It's a beautifully restored old theater, but we won't be going back until they get the air conditioning fixed! Too much money spent on cool artwork, what about comfort of your guests?!? Very bad service! Will never come again. Food takes forever. Me and my family couldn't eat due to us feeling uncomfortable because they record us the whole time. When confronted they denied everything and later covered each other. read more

I have to say that I love this place its very beautiful I am a member of the coffee club and the service is usually really good except this morning. When I got there was a guy placing his order a lady next to him asking him about the patches on his jacket. No problem there but after he placed his order the cashier started speaking with them for at least ten minutes if not longer. She would look at me and continued her conversation this happened about four times but then I just stepped up and asked " can i just get a coffee to go please" and what did she do?? Gave me a really dirty look and continued her conversation. It so happened a young girl came.from the kitchen so I asked het.for the coffee and she got it for me. I was polite I waited more than most people would. I am a.customer too and I had things to do the cashier could had.said be right with you or she could of taken my order and continued talking but she acted like i was not there and i didn't matter. Coffee club is just $5 a month and i can get coffee and a sandwich anywhere. They don't want my business then I will just take it somewhere else. read more

Fantastic venue! At first glance one might think the prices for a show here are too high. But when you consider a great show, and fantastic four-course meal with complimentary drinks, it quickly becomes evident what a good value The Texan is. Not to mention getting to be a part of a great thing happening. The Texan theater has been immaculately refurbished into one of the best, most intimate venues to watch a concert in the North Texas area. Think of it as your own personal listening room, rather than a concert venue as max seating is 128. We had no troubles parking, in fact, literally parked on the street directly in front of the theater entrance. Not crowded at all. Walked inside to a luxuriously appointed, modern-styled lobby with a bar setup, seating areas and plenty of room to mill about. Off to the right of the lobby is the restaurant portion of the theater that serves soups, salads, sandwiches during the day and breakfast in the morning until 11 am. Wasn't open when we were there, but walked through and enjoyed the cool, modern vibe of the place. Doors to the concert hall opened and we were all escorted to our seats by professional staff followed by wait persons who took our drink orders. As you make your way back through the hallway to the seating area, be sure to check out the wall of fame where framed photographs of the acts who've performed are on display. Shortly after being seated, our delicious appetizer arrived, which was then followed by a salad, then the main course as the show started. A delectable dessert rounded out the evening's fare. The acoustics and sound are spectacular as there's not a bad seat in the house. Most will be seated no further than 50-100 feet away from the stage at linen-covered tables that are staggered vertically, stadium-style up to the back of the theater. There are plenty of restrooms available. All-in-all a memorable experience that is well worth the money you'll spend for admission. read more

What to do when you're visiting Texas? That's right, you purchase tickets for the Texan Theatre! We were visiting Texas and I wanted to do something special for my boyfriend's 50th birthday and we didn't want to drive into Dallas and mess with the traffic...so we spent our evening here. The theatre was absolutely gorgeous. Our evening consisted of a four-course dinner and live entertainment by Matt the Electrician. I never heard of him before but decided to wing it and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The meal was delicious but the iced coffees and the Reese's peanut butter dessert were to die for! They have an app you can download that will keep you posted of shows coming up. That's my next stop, the App Store. read more

We've gone to a bunch of concerts here. I love the convenience of having a good concert close to home, and normally there is hardly anyone there. Even big name concerts , there is hardly anyone there. It's usually the same food, Tostitos chips and a dip, a dry salad, and over cooked steak with a small desert. For $150 dollars per person- I would expect much more. You can go and see the same people in concert for 10-20 dollars and pick from a full menu at a concert venue. I get that you get a quiet intimate setting, but the food needs to be fixed IMO. It's been a year of basically the same menu items. It's a great concept, amazing theatre. But if the food was amazing as the rest of the place, it would be a win. But for right now , you just have to drink as much alcohol as you can to feel like you got your money's worth. read more

The first time I was at a The Texan was back in the year 2013 when the Christmas Parade was about to start. Chris Kilmer gave me a VIP access to the balcony to eat the parade! Fast forward to spring 2015. I went with a group of 4 other shutterbugs on a full-fledged photography tour. Patricia was very knowledgeable about everything the theater has to offer! Oh, the blueberry green tea was really good! Fast forward to August 1, 2015. I've decided to participate at The Texan theater at another guided tour and Barbara Horan (the owner) was the tour guide to the group of 8 people for that day. We were granted access to the balcony where we can rest. The hospitality was beyond what I expected! Fast forward to November 28, 2015. I decided to make a quick run to The Texan for something hot to drink. I asked for availability of chai tea with whipped cream on top. The lady behind the counter said it is available. I obtained a tiger-spiced hot chai tea with whipped cream to-go for $5.14. I know it seems quite expensive, but it's a world-class hot beverage! It tops even Starbucks in taste and richness. It was so rich I had a bit difficulty swallowing the beverage, but I managed to finish it all. You have GOT to come over to The Texan! You will expect exceptional hospitality, fantastic drinks, and top-of-the line ambience and technology. read more

Love the downtown area!! Beautiful theater, great food!! Very friendly service. I visited the lobby cafe for lunch one afternoon. I ordered quiche and a delicious fresh salad with a warm, blueberry and white chocolate scone, sprinkled with powdered sugar. The coffee is great also! I will go back. read more

Barbara helped me organize a cozy, elegant gathering at the Texan Theater. She set up a sandwich table with many fresh options. It looked beautiful, and was very popular. The room itself had good seating and decor, and all the technology worked very well for the livestream. I would have paid a great deal more than she charged for this experience. A wonderful family owned venue for live entertainment and dining. Ticket prices include a full four course meal as well cocktails along with the show. The owner greeted us at the door and welcomed us to her "house". The whole evening was well worth the drive from Dallas. read more

We went to see Rick Springfield here. The atmosphere is very cool, as this is a really old theater that has been completely restored. We were served dinner, which was excellent. There's also a full service bar, drinks were included in the ticket price. The place is really first class. read more

Our first outing to the Texan was for New Year's Eve last week. We had a wonderful first class experience from the greeting inside the door until we left. The open bar (included in the ticket price) in the lobby was well stocked with Landon's wine and top shelf liquors. The theater has been beautifully restored. The seating and tables are very spacious and comfortable. The four course dinner was superb from appetizer to dessert. Service was as good as we have experienced anywhere Do not let the ticket price scare you off. This is way more than a concert. This is a full evening experience in an historic setting.
