When we booked the appointment we asked how many cleaners would be sent. They told us two. Also, we were sent a confirmation email claiming we would receive a discount for our first visit. Neither were true. But, a very nice lady arrived on time and began to clean. I had requested special attention to our baseboards as this had not been done for quite a while. I didn't observe this occurring immediately so I asked if she'd been directed to do this. She said in the bathrooms she was focusing on them but indicated she had not enough time to do them all. Though things were tidy and cleaner than before, we felt the job was rushed and attention was not given to the items we specifically requested. The owner, Jacob, reached out and offered a full refund and a reclean. We accepted the refund, which we truly appreciate and resolves that particular issue, although I would have been happy with just the partial reclean to finish the service from the beginning. It's a shame that it got resolved after I posted a poor review; I didn't go straight to posting a bad review--I tried to find a resolution with a company supervisor, and I don't believe it should have to get to the point of an owner overriding a supervisor after a review is posted--it should be made right the first time. But I appreciate that he emphasized growing from these mistakes rather than solely smoothing it over with a refund, and I think it's meaningful that he gave detail for the ways they'll improve. Examples are "...I will be taking the necessary steps to improve from this situation and avoid this from happening again in the future...Regarding the response from the management team, I think that could have been addressed a little better, the situation shouldn't have escalated the way it did, the solution should have been sending the team or a new team out to do the appropriate job that wasn't done originally as per the agreement. I will be working on improving the training process...Cleaner will be aware of their mistakes and management side will be aware of how to deal with these kind of situations and provide the best solution to the problem..." But he also continues to heavily and repeatedly emphasize removing my review, and this is what continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I had hoped to write a more positive review, but while finding a resolution can often fully solve an issue, it doesn't make it so that it didn't happen. This was the interaction between the company and me, it's just a fact that it happened; the purpose of a review is literally to convey your interaction with a company in order for others to make informed decisions, and removing it feels dishonest. I personally often value how a company resolves issues more than the issue itself, and any future potential customer can see how the company resolved the issue, and how the company has committed to improvement. It's up to them to decide for themselves--erasing a company's mistakes is not my responsibility. It's also dangerously close to Yelp's policy against companies paying to change reviews. And I wanted to give 4 stars, but I can't. If it was just bad work but was handled well, I'd give 4 stars. If it was bad work and was handled poorly by a receptionist but handled well by management, I'd give a weak 4 stars. If all of that had happened and the company committed to change as they did but didn't over-focus on reviews, I'd think about it. It would also be different if this was a fluke and didn't seem to be a trend for them. My husband hired them without reading reviews, but there are other reviews also complaining about things not being cleaned at all, and some of the 4 stars were actually poor reviews that changed after Jacob "made it right". I do hope that they are genuinely committed to improvement so that their employees communicate professionally, don't grill customers that follow procedure, actually know what to do in normal situations, actually do what they're paid to do rather than cut corners, and aren't dishonest. Their future customers deserve that. I hope that they get nothing but genuine rave reviews from here on out because they changed to preemptively provide great service. read more

EDIT: Jacob contacted us to understand what went wrong, noted all of our grievances and promised to fix the issues for future customers. He also credited us for $100 for our troubles. It goes to show that the owners do care about customer service, and are willing to work hard to keep improving things 1. They offer a 24-hour cancellation window. It is very easy to book the service online, but there is no way to cancel online. We had a Monday morning appointment, and we needed to cancel. The only way was to call, and they would only take calls at 11 AM on Sunday. Despite this issue, they flat out declined to waive the cancellation fee. Their first response was that we dispute the charge with the CC company. It did not seem to them that this was their problem. Eventually, they let us reschedule online. 2. We had booked a post-renovation clean, costing us about $550. This includes wall cleaning. We filled out a form with this information, and mentioned that we needed bathrooms cleaned, and we have hardwood floors. When they showed up, the cleaners didn't know about any of this. They didn't have equipment to handle the dust, to even vacuum hardwood floors, and we offered our own vacuums. The cleaning people were very nice, but they had no information. They were just two of them, and obviously overwhelmed by the task, though they did a great job at the end. To me, the second point is what makes this business terrible. Being incompetent in scheduling is one thing. Trying to keep as much of the money through unfair policies is also nothing new. But being incompetent at the logistics of cleaning? That is inexcusable. I hope they paid the cleaning lady because from their attitude it seems they would try to scam on the other side too. read more

I am updating this review as per the resolution to the issue I had with cleaning service. I did receive a refund of which the amount I will not disclose here, and an extensive follow up email about how the company will resolve these issues moving forward that appeared to be genuine. With that being said, it seems like similar issues have been noted in other reviews and the company may still be having issues with executing what they say they will do to improve. I will consider using this company again for regular cleaning service and see if it is done better, the initial issues I had were with the move out cleaning service which was executed poorly when I was on a strict timeframe to get old tenants out, do repairs to the house, build a gate, and also working my 9-5 job on top of all that. All of this needed to be done within two days, and cleaning was to be done on the second day after all other projects were done. I cannot say at the moment I would suggest using this companies extensive move out cleaning service, however they might do just fine for the regular cleaning. I cannot in good conscience remove my review completely, as the bottom line is I paid for a service in a time of need with confidence that what I had paid at the time would be worth every dollar paid and the house would be ready for new tenants to move in. It was not ready, and that is the point. The company did make it right by providing a refund and explaining how they would correct these issues moving forward which is why this review is now four stars. With that being said, the below information is still relevant to my initial experience. Hopefully I can work with the company to provide better service with regular cleaning moving forward. It was difficult to communicate to them but I eventually realized they had not cleaned it because there were some items in the fridge. This is not clear when paying extra that everything must be taken out, however as they would not I took everything out myself which took three minutes, and asked them to clean it again which it seemed like they begrudgingly did. I have to say I was not particularly happy needing to argue about receiving a service I had already paid for. I asked them to focus on the tenant rooms and they said they would, mopped everything else but the tenant room still has dusty shoe prints. What's funny is I actually vacuumed the WHOLE HOUSE ahead of time to make sure they could focus on problem areas. they used this extra time to leave early. When you pay $15 extra for refrigerator cleaning, this is unacceptable, the only time it would be acceptable is if it is DISCLOSED everything must be removed from the fridge (it was not) Speaking of which, if you have any items in your house, say, notebooks, stickers, mousepads THEY WILL NOT MOVE IT TO CLEAN IT. They offered to have someone come to fix it, to bad since I already spent my time that I needed to repair damage to the house and do touch up painting etc cleaning everything they did not clean. read more

Well this was one of the worst cleaning experiences I have ever had. We booked this company for a move out clean + a one room carpet cleaning at high prices. They were set to arrive at 10am to complete services. I booked early because I am moving cross country and need to start my drive. Cleaners arrived at 10am not prepared to do the carpet clean. They said they did not know about it even though the day previous we had contacted the company to verify that they knew about the carpet clean. We were told on the call that they would arrive at 10am. The dispatcher told me that the carpet cleaning crew would be here later, at 1pm. Well, now its 2pm and no one is here plus the company cannot even give an ETA somehow? The clean itself, was less than average. I had to vacuum again after the cleaners left because they used a budget consumer grade vacuum that left virtually everything on the carpets. Then, I had to clean baseboards throughout home because they were not touched. If it wasn't for the lack of service and being 4 hours+ late, I would have probably given the clean a 3, however, there seems to be no way to contact anyone that knows anything. Crooks! They charged me the day before they were scheduled to come clean for the first time. On the day of, they didn't call to let me know they were running late. After an hour, I called and they were still 30+ minutes from coming. That didn't work with my schedule any more, so I cancelled service. I also cancelled further services. They charged me again the following month and didn't show. It has been absolutely awful trying to get someone to help me get a refund. The lied to me repeatedly saying the refunded me, but after 6 months, I still haven't gotten my $475 back. I had to call my bank and report a fraudulent charge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The two people who showed up came to work! We left the house and when we came back we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of work that had been done. Not only did they clean; They made the bed, cleaned the coffee maker, organized some of the random things left out that didn't have a home. On top of that they were in and out in just under 2 hours. They were very thorough. I did pay extra for the oven and fridge to be cleaned. Worth it. Please note this is a formal business; not a mom and pop or single person cleaning service. There is a price for the cleaning, taxes and processing fees - which is charged the evening BEFORE your service. They said it was a hold, but it still comes out of your account. Taxes and fees are part of doing business in Texas for cleaning and janitorial services per the Texas Comptroller. Look it up if you need to, I did! The worst cleaning job I've ever had for a very steep price. They Sent one person who couldn't speak any English and was unable to communicate. We tried using an app to translate but she was unable to understand my instructions. She Didn't dust a lot of the furniture. Didn't clean the kitchen sink and left dirty dishes in the sink. Those are just a few things that were not done. I had to go back and do lots of cleaning after. I will never use this company again. She was able to communicate via the translation app that the tip I paid online in advance would not go to her and that the company keeps that. Do not use this company if you want your house to be cleaned. I paid $359.66 for a move out cleaning, which was supposed to have a 50 point cleaning process. They were supposed to clean baseboards, kitchen, bathroom etc. Since the house was empty they thought that I wouldn't check to see if they had cleaned it. Nothing was done! I asked for a refund, I did not receive it. I filed a complaint with the BBB, they said that they would issue me a refund. That was in June, it is now August and I still haven't received the refund. Found TCS down the list a bit and since only one review at the time I almost breezed by. But when I started using the multi quote thru Yelp Jacob got back to me with pricing and availability in about 30 seconds. Easy to book/schedule on the web site and great appointment confirmation and follow up. Amelia was 5 min early and didn't miss a spot. She was very friendly and extremely competent. This was a move out cleaning and after seeing their work and getting a sense if their customer service mentality - I will use TCS on a regular basis for the new home I just moved in to. We were promised a refund over 10 days ago, and have YET to receive it. Conveniently, every time we try to call the office, our call is ignored and when it is answered, Adam is "not in the office." We received a text from Adam stating we would receive a refund, but again, we have not received anything and Adam will not return our calls or texts. ***If you filter through the 1 star reviews on here and check the reviews on BBB, you will see there are many similar stories. I'm very happy with Texas Cleaning Services. I came home to a wonderful smelling and clean home. They were very detailed. The blinds were clean. Tile was as clean as it's been in years, lol. The two ladies that came were very sweet and I will request them specifically next time. They left cute little folds on tissue and toilet paper that my son just adored. I asked her please not to use straight vinegar and if she didn't have anything else I would supply her with other supplies it was burning my throat and giving me a severe headache it just smelt absolutely horrible. I approach her and politely asked her at that point about not using it because I already asked her when she first came she got mad and very defensive once again. I highly would not recommend Heather Smith to come clean your house you should have anybody sent out other than her and to top it off she also broke my Cooke jar and told be to glue it back together!! It was not the fact that she broke it, it was the comet.Last but not least she moves every thing and dose not put nothing back she leaves it for you to do. It was just a nightmare.
