When I myself arrived with other items (coolers of soda, napkins, extra utensils) the two women quickly joined in helping me unload my van and the contents. Before the Christmas party started, food was prepped so it was fresh, neatly laid out on the table, and refilled promptly as the night continued. My boss was very appreciative of the attention to detail when it came to cleaning afterwards, and how quickly everything was handled. Not enough praise can be given to Epicures for how well everything was handled.

This is the kind of place you dream of finding as you pound out the thousands of miles the road demands of you before rewarding you with such hidden gems. Save yourself the miles and take my recommend to visit this Mom & Pop joint if you're ever in the area. Top Line: I hit up this delightful duo for a sliced beef sandwich, 3 pork ribs, and 8 oz each of potato salad & beans. While they do have picnic table seating, it was too windy that day to sit outside. I and my lunch would have wound up a couple counties over in no time! So I knoshed in my car and watched a couple hawks wheel around the windy sky. The sandwich was built on white Wonder bread style slices. Sauce was very tomatoey in taste with a solid pepper snap to it. Beef was, as noted, very very tender. Smoke taste was less distinct & punchy than many other briskets I've had in the past. Smoke note was softer & more subtle. Still a mighty tasty sandwich. Ribs were literally "fall off the bone" tender. I had to be careful eating them or gravity would strip the meat off the bone onto my lap, which I'd judiciously napkined up as a precaution. The rib meat was super tender on the tongue. The 3 bones came in a cup pre-drenched with plenty of the aforementioned peppery tomato sauce. You can bet plenty of finger lickin' ensued after the bones were chewed clean. The sides were not at the same level as the meats. The beans tasted okay, as if a can of grocery store beans had been doctored a bit. I seemed to get turmeric spicing notes, a touch of smoke, and a touch of heat at the back end. The potato salad also tasted like pretty standard fare, with a hint of pickle juice flavor shining through. Bonus points for them providing a functioning bathroom, complete with hot water, for cleanup in such a rustic setting. The couple who are Circle 4 BBQ are delightful examples of Texas cordiality, so it was fun to meet them. As a testament to the quality level of their fare, while I hung out eating my way through what proved to be just a touch too much food, there was a steady stream of burly guys picking up to-go orders & piling back into their pickups & semi big rigs before pulling back out onto the road. But here's the thing--when something goes wrong at a hotel and they make you a promise to fix it, they should actually fix it. That hasn't been our experience here. In 2023 we had some legitimate issues, such as there was a minibar charge made on our account when we didn't use the minibar, restaurant service that was frustratingly slow, a broken light in our balcony. When I wrote about it, management responded by offering us a free night--in writing, no conditions mentioned. We said 'thanks, we'll take you up on it when we're back in town.' Fast forward to now. Every time we we've tried to use it, something new comes up. The examples below are ones I can document (there were other verbal conversations I can't full reconstruct): * First it was football weekends (which, fair enough--but that was never mentioned when they made the offer) * Then a separate "special event" exclusion got invented when a non-football event came to town for a date we were interested in * Then I picked a date off their own list of available dates offered by one of their managers, and I was told now all the sudden there's actually a two-night minimum--after the had urged me to pick something quickly and I responded the same evening (within 90 minutes) * Then a dinner gift card that was offered in writing got pulled back a week later * Then they asked for a certificate number--there was never any certificate issued; the original offer was just 'let me know and I'll book you in' One of their managers actually admitted in writing that the restrictions were never explained upfront. And still--no confirmed booking as of April 2026. I've got the whole email chain if anyone doubts any of this. I'll update the review if they actually come through. Haven't been able to hold my breath that long yet.

I stayed at the StayAPT Suites in College Station, TX during a business trip. I had never heard of…read morethe hotel but it was minutes away from my work site so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel and I really appreciated that they have set quiet hours that are enforced. The quiet hours policy that they share with all guests at checkin gave me confidence that I'd get a good night sleep at the hotel. The room I booked reminded me of a brand new condo unit as it was relatively clean and smelled and looked rather new. The fixtures were nice in the full kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. I was placed on the first floor and I typically detest first floor walk up types of rooms for safety reasons but I honestly felt safe in this hotel. There is a small scaled gym that guests can use and free coffee and tea in the lobby area. The hotel is not too far from Texas A&M and close to restaurants and gas stations. Each room has an ironing board and iron and hair dryer. And my room had a living/dining area, full kitchen, two (2) televisions, and a full bathroom. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was there not being a night desk person. However, they give guest a number to call in the night if there are issues or if there is a noise complaint.
