On 07/02/2026, I had my hair highlighted by Cameron Carr. It was such a terrible job that it resulted in severe, errors, including completely incorrect color tone, extensive heavy streaking, and highly inconsistent processing. During the service, she, repeatedly abandoned the active chemical application and chemical processing steps to tend to and breastfeed her child, whom she brought into the salon workspace. By leaving the chemical hair color unsupervised and disrupting the strict application timeline, the she failed to maintain standard professional conduct, safety, and operational care. The resulting application was so severely botched that I could not bring myself to allow her to attempt a correction. I have never been more embarrassed about a hair job as I was with the one I received from Texas Couture Hair. It was so terrible that I spent 8 hours in a chair getting it corrected, and spent over $400. To help recoup some of the money, I requested a refund of my total minus the deposit and her tip. She refused and said it was against salon policy. Future clients beware. I would give ZERO stars, but it wouldn't let me. read more

I spent 2 years growing my natural color out to finally bring out my natural gray color. I have my son's wedding coming up so I decided to go in and match the rest of my hair to the roots. Obviously I was very nervous and spent some time trying to pick out somebody I thought would do a great job. Plus, my friends had pulled money together for my birthday to help me get this done. So when I spoke to this salon I very much thought they understood and they sent me multiple before and after images of success stories so I felt like I was making a good decision. I went expecting that it would be a long process so I was actually pretty excited for a longer day away from everything. It did not end up like. Instead the stylist I made my appointment with spent most of her time with another client and had her assistant work on mine. Additionally, they had several what was originally described to me as stray cats roaming around the office which whileI'm not a cat person, wasn't great or bad unless you're allergic, it was that you could smell the litter boxes and when the cat killed and started playing with a roach tossing it around that it turned gross. Add on to that, the assistant had her maybe 10 week old child who spent long periods of time screaming. You can debate with me about mom's who need child care and that's fine but several times this little one was screaming so much she was coughing herself to almost vomiting. This brought a response from the assistant (the baby's mom) that she hated how the little one had learned how to fake cough. It's not what you're looking for when you're paying a high cost to have your hair done because she on and off needed to give the baby a pacifier in the middle of shampooing my hair. In the end the worst part was not only did she not bring the rest of my hair to the gray I wanted, but she colored over my original gray and turned it all red and blonde. As most gray color experts would and SHOULD know, when doing a gray blending color, the roots should not even be touched with color. The job is to blend the ends into those roots. However in this case the stylist had the assistant color my entire head of roots. When it was done, I was slightly optimistic directly after going home the 1st time and washing and styling it the color appeared to be ok. However you could still see lots of red hues in the color which I mentioned I did not want to see at all and after only 2 weeks and 2 washes there was no longer any gray. The stylist promoted herself as having the ability to cut and style gray hair, but was clearly not true. I had to style my own hair when it was done and had to have my daughter cut more hair to level it off. Once I realized the color faded out and was not going to be gray at all, 2 years gone, but I contacted the stylist and asked for her help to fix it. She blamed me for the fact that it faded already and acted like she had no idea I wanted something more permanent. I definitely no longer felt comfortable with her fixing my hair. So I pressed her for a refund which she turned to the owner of the salon to decide on. Graciously, she offered a version of a full refund which ended up being closer to 77% which she said was because of the product (which she later asked me to bring back to the salon) and extra fees which I don't know what that is in reference to. To be clear this was because she agreed with me that the experience and the color were done incorrectly. Which is also why she then offered to fix it for free and to come in over the weekend. I was pretty happy, if I could get somewhere close then maybe all my time wouldn't be wasted. The smaller details of my weekend appointment weren't bad, but this ended worse in my opinion than the original. When I mentioned the cats and baby originally she acted shocked and appalled but while I was here she admitted she lets the cats in often and is really relaxed about letting people bring kids in and suggested the assistant should have worn the baby the entire 6 hour appointment. Finally though, the end result wrecked my hope, not only is my hair not even close to gray now but it's now blonde and red again. When it was done and she could clearly see I was disappointed she quickly got me out of there so her other client wouldn't hear about it. It's a complete ruin of what my original gray plan was I second guessed posting this, but I've seen new posts going up recently showing how they are claiming to be gray specialists which made me immediately think, 'if that's the case, why did you ruin mine?' Additionally, they didn't post my pictures so obviously weren't proud of the outcome. So maybe this review helps somebody, I think there are better options out there. Thank you read more
