The lady doing my blowout also started cutting my bangs without asking me which was upsetting since she had cut them in a way i did not want them so now they are short and not even the style i had them. The location by kemah aren't very helpful.. I honestly cried when I got in my car cause I hate makeup shopping. It's overwhelming frustrating and I hate doing it cause I never can find what I need/ want. I was rushed to this store from another one. When I walked in I told them that they had something on hold for me and they weren't sure if it was correct and instead of maybe helping me speed up the process just told me they were closing. I already felt bad about that but I'm not from around here and the other store didn't have my color so they called this store and they did so I made the trip! Still spent over $200 in 5 minutes. Definitely won't be back to this one. I think the thing that frustrated me most is I used to work retail and boy have things changed! Visited 1/2/2024 5:30 pm: This isn't my usual location as I stick to the 2 locations along my usual commute however I was in the area so I stopped by to pick up a usual purchase as well as check out a new foundation. I put my AirPods in cause EVERYONE knows that the Ulta employees will ask you a million and one times if you need assistance and I didn't need any help initially. I was looking a foundation in the Mac cosmetics area and I found a shade I'd like to try before I buy and I asked an employee who was assisting somebody else if I could get a sample when she gets the chance to which she replied the Mac employee can grab it and she would send her over shortly. I already grabbed an hourglass foundation I knew I wanted to buy so I was only interested in the sample otherwise I would've just grabbed the foundation and returned it if it didn't work for me. About 10-12 minutes go by and I'm still checking out/testing other shades while I wait and I notice I'm being watched like a hawk by TWO employees. I finally ask one that is obviously trying to pretend to organize a counter but was really watching me shop, if she worked here and could assist me. She tells me she can't give me the sample because the Mac lady isn't here, to which I explained the other employee said she would grab her for me already. Another employee walks up and helps with finding the sample cups cause they had no idea where anything was at. My frustration comes from employees attempting to watch me shop without verbally asking if I need any help per usual. I feel as though I am damned if I do and damned if I don't with Ulta and it's not a good experience. Not that it matters but read the room..... I am literally shopping in a pullover with my employers logo, designer shoes, designer bag, etc. if I were working in retail I'd ask if there's anything I could do to help with the entire experience, not assume I need to be watched like a thief as if I'm 16 years old. DESPITE the terrible customer service, Jessica/jennifer i believe was her name was at the register and she was such a doll. Very kind and attentive about my experience and purchases. I was ecstatic to see that Ulta was opening up in my hood. The drive to the Baybrook location was becoming tedious. I visited shortly after they opened so everything was shiny and new. The layout and overall presentation was pretty consistent with most Ulta stores. My one complaint was with customer service. I've recently decided to overhaul my hair routine and was looking for new products to try. If you've been to Ulta you know how overwhelming their haircare section can be. I tried to find an associate but spotted only one and she was on the phone. The entire time I was there I was never approached or offered assistance. This was pretty inconsistent with my usual Ulta experience so I will chalk that up to being new and still working kinks out. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend. I will obviously be back because buying cosmetics is like crack and Ulta is my nearest dealer. read more

Walking into the store alone is overstimulating. There is stuffy everywhere and it's blocking all walkways. You have make your way all the way around so you don't have to squeeze your way through and possibly bump items. The layout is terrible! It makes no sense and it's not clearly marked. I had to do 2 laps around the center of the store to find hair dye and then another 3 laps to find the nail polish. So frustrating. They are always sold out of the items I'm particularly looking for. One of the sales associates was very helpful and attempted to find the items for me, but alas they were sold out. She said I could come back on Thursday and hopefully they'd be in by then. But who has time to stalk a store and *hopefully* they have the items you need? I'd rather order online or go to another store that's not a complete mess. One of the major things that really upset me was I walked in with my 2 kids and was searching for the hair dye. After I finally found it I had a male sales associate follow me and asks if I needed help. I could have used the help 5 minutes ago while I did laps. When he approached me I was squatting looking for my specific hair color. His tone and overall demeanor made me very uncomfortable and it almost seemed like he was coming to make sure I wasn't stealing! I found the color I needed and went to look for the other items I needed which were sold out. Well my hair dye alone wasn't enough to use my coupon so that's why I searched for nail polish. I finally find some colors and go pay. Male associate checks me out. Guess what? Because the nail polish I picked was on clearance i couldn't use my coupon. Done. I was beyond frustrated with this entire experience and left without my items. I completely get reading the fine print and that certain items are excluded. I'm not upset about that. It was the entire trip that was frustrating! From walking in, not being able to find items and then for them to be sold out. And to top it off the male associate was not friendly and made me very uncomfortable with his demeanor. This Ulta is the closest to my house therefore more convenient but I'd rather drive elsewhere that isn't so disorganized and actually has items. It's pretty sad when the 2 neighboring stores that have a reputation for being disorganized are in better shape and not complete disarray like this Ulta. read more

The staff was very attentive and very friendly. One lady, I wish I remembered her name, asked if I needed help whilst helping multiple people and didn't seem bother that I too needed assistance. She was great with multitasking and super friendly the entire time. I felt that the staff continually checked on me to see if I were still finding everything already, and I didn't feel pressured into buying anything prestige, when asking about drugstore products. All of the workers seemed like team players, as they were working the register when busy, but then tending to customers when the line would get down. This is probably the best ulta I've ever been in and I used to work for one YEARS ago. Good job, ladies. I will def make the drive to this one from now on. read more

This is probably one worst customer service interactions i've ever had. The employee's there are WAY too pushy and when you don't do what they want, they become catty and rude towards you. I thought last year when I came and I got this treatment it was just a one time thing, but I was soo wrong. I went again today hoping it would be different but they were again extremely pushy, and when I didn't want to sign up for the rewards program they became so incredibly rude. So glad we have an Ulta in the neighborhood! Always friendly and helpful. The makeup girls/guys have helped me out recently with a tinted SPF moisturizer (the one I used to get from a salon has been out of stock) and turned me on to mineral makeup which I just love - much lighter and less of a "made up" feel and look. I always shop the discounted items for gifts and I like their loyalty program, I am always getting coupons and cash back to spend in the store or online. read more

I was not happy with the incredibly high pressured sales tactics when I walked in the front door. I went to this store with a shopping list. First time shopper. Last time shopper. I couldn't even make it through the front door without being attacked by sales people. At the end of it all, I just bought $300 worth of perfumes that I liked. I was very happy with a store nearby our neighborhood. After going to the store and be greeted we were looking for a curling iron, we found a nice guy that went to the back and got us the item. After, this lady with the white coat maybe from Clinique ? Any way she started harassing my 12 year old daughter asking us over and over if we needed any help... I have a friend who is very into makeup so I thought it would be a nice Christmas gift to get her something from Ulta. Went to the MAC counter to get some advice since I basically didn't know what I was doing and got help from someone there named Courtney. She was AWESOME and so knowledgeable! She was also really patient and seemed to genuinely want me to get a great gift. I was thoroughly impressed with her customer service and just overall friendliness and attitude! There was another girl at the same MAC counter I originally approached, but she didn't seem to know much more than me about makeup, which is next to nothing. I'm glad I found someone else and the experience ended great. read more
