I usually do not write reviews but I was so shocked by our encounter with Matt that I felt it was my duty to share our experience. This business is very poorly managed by allowing this conduct to occur. We were cussed out and threatened TWICE that "a gun would be put to our heads" if we attempted to pick up my trailer. Matt handled our GN livestock trailer repairs that totalled $2655.72 and of that amt. $202.40 was tax. We are a farm/ranch and have a Agricultural/Timber tax exempt permit. I told him that I had already sent my horse trainer to pick up the trailer with a check made out less the tax. Matt totally freaked out and started screaming, cussing and threatening us. I assured him not to worry and that we would pick up the trailer no matter what was owed. I called my CPA and he said to pay the tax which is exactly what we did. This business DOESN'T HANDLE PROBLEMS OR DISAGREEMENTS VERY WELL AT ALL. What a horrible experience all over a tax exempt issue. TEXAS CUSTOMZ has lost us as a customer forever. WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE after receiving these horrifying threats over not agreeing to paying a tax until we spoke with our CPA. We cannot and will not EVER RECOMMEND TEXAS CUSTOMZ TO ANYONE. I recently had Chris and the guys at Texas Customs repair and upgrade my work trailer, I couldn't be more pleased with there work, my trailer needed extensive frame repairs and replacing of both axles. my trailer is a beast now Chris suggested I upgrade to 7,500 # axles and bigger tires and wheel, what a difference it made it pulls straight and true, thanks Chris, and I can assure you Houston Fowler is a great asset to your company, he is a straight shooter and never failed to follow up on my calls. We just received stellar service at Texas Customz. We are taking a cross country trip in our motor home and while driving down the highway, a heat shield came off from underneath and we needed to have it reattached. We looked up a number of motor home repair shops in the vicinity of our travels and were told that they couldn't help us - and most didn't know who could. Except one- who put us onto Texas Customz. These folks are fantastic! Thought we needed a replacement part for our Air Force One braking system and, only based on our telephone conversation, they ordered it from the manufacturer. When it came in a few days later, I drove over to pick it up. The part that had come in wasn't the same so I asked them to reorder, now that they had seen the actual part on our vehicle. After checking it out, to my amazement they said the old part was perfectly fine and they wouldn't sell me something I didn't need! You don't often find a business that honest. These guys are absolutely the best. I contacted the owner Chris after my truck couldn't be fixed at another shop. The other shop not only couldn't fix my truck but also caused more damage to it. Chris's schedule was tight but he allowed me to have my truck towed from the other shop. Knowing that Im from out of town and had just finished business here in Bryan and stranded, he had my truck worked on immediately. They tracked down a aftermarket kill switch that had gone errant that I didn't even know I had. And then they replaced my traction bar bushings which is a pain in the ass as I tried a few days before with two breaker bars. One on the ratchet, one on the wrench. Requiring cutting torch to get sleeves off. Huge headache. When it was all said and done my bill was for $450.00, labor only. Wow! I was expecting to pay at least $1000 or $1200. When I asked how so inexpensive Chris's reply was "we treat our customers fair". I can't say enough Chris and his team. They know their stuff and when I'm in this part of the country I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else!!! read more
