I don't usually comment but for this one I had to. This restaurant is expensive....expensive of bad quality of food and customer service. I actually get better service at a hometown diner than this. A shame to Brazil and Brazilian restaurants. Want an experience go to Fuego de Chão or Chama Gaucha when you walk in the waiters take off your jackets, pull your seats for you, fill you up will unlimited water, constantly check up on you, and make sure your table is clean every time you go another road. BUT HERE NOPPPE! Wow the meat was thick and dry, no flavor. The guys kept passing our table then bring us whatever is left. Sad....also the beans they don't make them, the shrimp had no flavor, the potatoes were so salty, the jasmine rice does not go well with the so called Brazilian styled beans. Regardless this restaurant doesn't care trust me. We ended up getting a discount but please fight for what you think you should pay because $200 was not worth the low quality of service or food. Trust me you can get something better at the Cheesecake Factory next door. Us as people need to realize that what's expensive is not always good. Simple is always better. Went to Texas de Brazil for dinner 8/29 and will never be back again! The atmosphere was so loud I couldn't hear anything the waiter had said not to mention I couldn't even hear my boyfriend who sat across the table from me. The salad bar was the furthest from a salad bar, there was lettuce and a plethora of random things that really didn't make sense at a salad bar...like sushi? at a steakhouse? So my date and I basically had to guess at what to do. Our waiter had said that the meat was medium rare, So I thought okay that will be fine, well medium rare is an understatement. It was basically still alive when it was placed on my plate. Extra rare is the cooking method I would describe it as. The meat was also so salty that eating it was extremely painful. This was my first visit to Texas de Brazil - Buffalo. I wanted to give the restaurant a try as I had yet to experience a Brazilian buffet style restaurant. Since I looked up the prices and hours beforehand, I noticed that they only did dinner at this location and that the all-you-can-eat-option was $44.99 per person, which is very pricey. Luckily, I saw online that if you sign up for the Texas de Brasil e-Club, you can get a 1 time voucher for $25 off 2 dinners (just make sure you read all the fine print). With this coupon, the food was a little more reasonable. We made a reservation for out table using the online OpenTable.com site which was very simple to use. Upon arrival we were seated within 2 minutes. The details of the menu and how the all-you-can-eat works were explained to us by our waiter. Then we proceeded to flip our buttons from 'red' to the 'green' side and the madness began. Servers come over with meats on a giant skewer and ask if you would like some. If yes, they proceed to slice it right there for you and then put it on your plate. If no, they continue on their merry way. This system was kind of fun because at points we had one server come over every minute and then at other points there were about 4 servers at our table slicing meats for us. It was overwhelming, but in a good way. We also had the signature Brazilian cocktail, a Caipirinha, which they do a great job with here. Our main waiter was very attentive and polite. He made sure we had clean plates, water, bread, and the meats we wanted. The meat servers were very polite and good at helping you get the meats and amounts you desire. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was great, the ambiance was great, and the noise level was moderate. It was a very enjoyable experience, but I don't know if I will do it often simply because the high price tag. Our first experience. First, it's clean. The salad bar ? Unbelievable. A twist between American and Braziliin. Diverse is the first word that comes to mind. Cocucos to potatoe salad. He even went as far to bring the Chef out to explain the sides available for my needs. I have always wanted to eat here but some of the reviews were super questionable so I was a little apprehensive, so glad we tried it out. First of all, I definitely recommend making a reservation. We didn't think we needed one going as soon as they opened for dinner but it was a question of "are we taking walk ins" more so than "this is how long your wait is" We were initially told that it would be a 40 minute wait, they asked if we were celebrating anything and we initially said no, but has just got married two days ago so ended up telling them that. Some restaurant magic happened and ended up being seated after like 5 minutes. Steven was our server and he was absolutely amazing. Made sure we were well taken care of by the gauchos and made sure we got all the cuts of meat we wanted to try and that everything was perfect. I don't understand all the poor reviews for the meat being salty or undercooked. Every server within earshot told every table that they could ask for the meat to be prepared without salt and to any temp desired so all these people complaining about those things probably weren't listening to their server. The meal itself was amazing and well worth the price. The salad bar was awesome and the lobster bisque was incredible. We tried one of every meat they had that night and there was not one I didn't like. The lamb chop was by far my favorite followed closely by the alcantra. Everything was so juicy and flavorful and i didn't think it was salty at all. They gave us each a free dessert since we had just been married and chose to celebrate there but we were so stuffed we took them home for another time. We will definitely be back though. Went to this Restaurant for Date night last nite. The atmosphere was like a 5 star, upscale trendy place. Now The downside of this 45.oo a head meal. They boast a salad bar which was nice but kinda random, and not worth the 25.00 salad bar only. very inexpensive dishes on there. Now the entree, they also boast all you can eat filet mignon, ribs, chicken and sausage. The filet's are tiny and over cooked, so I asked for a rare one and I'm still waiting for it. I didn't know what this place was... but I saw a gift card at Sam's Club for $80 for $100 and I had seen it near the mall so I figured why don't I try it! It was phenomenal! A little pricy considering I went for just normal dinner... (I had no idea what it was). A great place for an anniversary... So here's the deal... It's all you can eat but it's not like a normal buffet. The "salad bar" which also had fancy cheeses and soup and a few side items was okay but the meat which they serve on swords and bring to your table is what is really amazing! I absolutely love Texas de Brazil and will always take the opportunity to eat here when I can. I came by myself on Tuesday night, and had a very nice server named Madison. She was attentive, friendly, checked in on me several times, and removed the dirty plates once I was done with them. She asked me, along with the servers, if there were any specific meats or cuts that I'd like. As soon as I specified, I was brought that very same thing. They gentlemen carving the meats were all very pleasant and knew exactly what I liked. The manager was also very welcoming with a big smile. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday last month and as we did not make reservations, the wait was about 2 hours. Meat was okay, I had expected more for the price. The salad was more impressive to me. They give you a small circle card (red on one side, green on the other) for when you want the meat to come or to leave you alone. The service on that was spot on. I am knocking a star off because of the price and how much one is able to really eat $45 worth of meat in addition to the salad bar. Now with that said the quality of this place is on par with the other Brazilian steakhouses I've been to. The meat is tender and My issue with this place is the location. It feels very cramped. The hostess area is right inside the door and I can only imagine if there is more then 2 groups waiting to be seated they might feel a bit like sardines. Which brings me to my 2 issue. It is load. When you pack a bunch of people into a small enclosed area with no carpet or padding on the chairs for that matter to absorb the noise it just bounces off every surface. The wait staff was friendly and punctual and my water goblet never ran dry. Also just a side note. Instead of giving my 4year old a wine glass of lemonade which he could have easily spilled had I not been diligent (it's a weird shape for little hands) I would have preferred a highball or oven a Collins glass. read more

After hearing all of the hype, we decided to give this place a try. For the price, I was expecting a variety of different meats brought to our table at a consistent pace and unfortunately, my expectations were not met. We waited 10-15 minutes between meat choices to make it to our table, of which most of them were ones we had already tried. Also, the general rule of thumb here is you take one piece and if they're nice, maybe two. The redeeming quality I found here though was the salad bar. They had a decent selection of sides and salads including options such as roasted vegetables, a variety of cheeses and scalloped potatoes. The soup option was lobster bisque and it was really delicious. I would recommend if you make a trip here, just go for the salad bar. We had pop, milk and tap water...no alcohol. $45. No free refills here. We didn't ask. Desert? Don't assume it's free. $60. We didn't ask. Mother's dining with them on Mother's Day were supposed to receive a gift certificate to use on their future visits. The wait staff and manager watched party after party leave, without the gift certificate. They forgot to ask. Children 6-12 yrs: 50% off regular dinner price. Apparently us telling them we had an eight year old didn't register, and our autistic youngster didn't make a big enough impression for the waitress to remember to charge him the child's price. We forgot to ask. It's probably not company policy to overcharge guests. Maybe the waitress was new and in training. Maybe the manager was too. Although we brought this issue to their attention that same day, and even returned in person to have the over charge credited, the manager wasn't available, and no one had any clue why they couldn't refund it locally and immediately, 4 business days later. No apologies either. If you're in Buffalo, just go to the Brazilian BBQ in Canada. More for less with the exchange, and not out to gouge the customers. read more

Whether you like or dislike this restaurant will depend upon your expectations. The location I visited had formerly housed a Hyde Park Steakhouse so I was expecting something upscale like the previous steakhouse. My mistake. The Texas de Brazil atmosphere was incredibly noisy with the clientele dressed ultra-casual with plenty of baseball hats, hoodies, flannels, and team jerseys on view. If you're an all you can eat buffet person you'll dig it here. They have a really nice soup and salad bar. The wait staff will bring hunks of meat to your table on skewers to carve and drop on your plate which unfortunately involves your assistance holding the meat with tongs while they carve it. The younger guests seemed to really enjoy that which is nice if you're dining as a family. Personally I prefer not being an active participant in getting my main course on my plate when dining out. I would rate the quality of the meats served as decidedly mediocre, better than a TGI Fridays but not as good as The Outback. The reality is this is just another chain restaurant with a shtick. If you know that going in you'll be satisfied. If you're looking for something a little more atmospheric and classy you won't. read more

The noise was so bad that we couldn't even carry on a conversation. To make matters worst, when we finished our salad, they started bringing the meat around and we had no plates. We had an event for Valentine's Day at this restaurant! We made reservations for a party of 8 and ensured a private area days in advance! Upon arrival, the hostess told us that there is no private areas, handed over a pager and asked us to wait! Ohhhh I will keep this short and sweet! They were unorganized, we had to rearrange the tables because they were not leveled, the premium meats come around maybe one time and if you miss it, good luck! Lastly, I had a beautiful cake that I asked the waiter to bring out so that we can have with coffee, our dear waiter brought the cake out in the box and bag that I had handed it to them earlier! no plates, no knife to cut it with! Shame!!! We chose this restaurant to make it easier for our guests, so they can eat whatever they want but I regretted every second! We went with a group of 17 people for Anniversary dinner for our friends married 40 years. First time and I thought it was too dark and floor had something on it that made it very dangerous. Could fall very easy and place was very loud. Couldn't hear anyone talking and waiters were also hard to understand. At first they came around they seemed to care about good service but that didn't last long. It took so long for them to come back with more meat didn't even feel like eating anymore by the time they brought more back. Dessert wasn't included in dinner price but didn't know that. Salad bar was pretty bad. Hardly nothing on it that was very tasty. Place just seemed like a big cluster of mass confusion. Wasn't relaxing or enjoy at all. Thanks for wasting my time and money. Unbelievable! Bar none the worst dinning experience I ever had. We had reservations weeks in advance. Arrived 10 minutes early, saw many empty tables, but were still told it would be about 15 minutes. The old 'spend money at the bar' routine. At $10 bucks a drink for 4 plus tip... $50 bucks right off the bat. We got our table and it was so dark we could not read the menu. It was so loud we could not hear the waiter or hear ourselves talk. As soon as we got back from the salad bar (dirty ,greasy serving utensils by the way...bring hand sanitizer) they start with the meats. Never mind their was no room on the plates for that, our coasters were all red, meaning no meat. Yet they still came like mindless robots offering food. When we did try the meats they all tasted the same. We could not tell lamb from filet, flank from sausage and they were very salty. When we got up to go back to the salad bar we returned to the dirty plates still on the table, the wait staff no where to be found. Texas de Brazil is a big eater and meat lovers dream come true. A huge choice of sides all on the higher end of the spectrum. They don't seem to scrimp on the quality of the ingredients either which is nice in a buffet setting. However there's a few tips to use when you go that will help you get the best bang for your gastric buck. Take your time and enjoy your experience!!!! They dont run out or limit the quantity of the food so let each round settle in a bit before you go running back for more. Wait for the good cuts to come around and fill up on them, the Fillet, and Pichana are stupendous. Make friends with the tenders of the meat swords lol, they will give you larger amounts and come around more often. A word to the wise though be prepared for some saltiness in the food. They use a loosely defined "traditional" brazillian barbecue style which involves salting the lesser cuts a little heavier than normal. Its palatable though if your not too salt sensitive. If you let your server know ahead of time that you have salt issue they will arrange for less salty choices. Also be aware that drinks and desserts are not included in the all you can eat dinner price. Lastly they have the standard blackouts and restrictions on coupons which they strictly enforce. Dont expect to use more than one coupon per table or to use a coupon on a Saturday or a holiday. read more

Excellent restaurant. First off, it is expensive, but it is really worth it. I am a total carnivore, and this place is a meat eaters paradise. You probably could get a better steak other places, but the joy of this restaurant is that you're not limited to one cut of meat, you get to try out a large variety, and eat as much of each as you like. if you find something you particularly like, you can ask any of the servers and they'll send that person back to your table. Now for the down sides, drinks are really expensive, an 8 oz coke is $3, and no free refills, alcoholic drinks around $10 apiece and up. desserts are ala carte, and also quite price at $9 each for a slice of cake or pie, they were good, but I'd go somewhere else after dinner next time. Other people have said it's very loud there, I didn't find that to be true, was able to have a conversation with 4 people easily. Lastly, would I go back? Definitely! My first try at this chain. And my last. I test many AYCE buffets. Toronto has a very competitive market and unique offerings for AYCE. After inspecting the offerings at this Walden Mall site in Buffalo, I decided to try it - mainly for the tempting deserts. That was based on the belief I pay one price and everything was included. As others write, That is untrue. The deserts are all extra.It pales in comparison to certain Asian AYCE models. SPRING ROLLS in Toronto I find still has the best AYCE quality and value. Similar white table cloths, food served -very fast, excellent quality- but no pretentious attitude. Check it out next time you are in dowtown TO. Buffalo has fewer choices. This Walden location is a unique Tex Brazillian concept. Many servers running around. The price pays for all those staff. The $45 fee for just the meat / salad meal is over-priced. The meat is good quality and bacon wrapped beef is premium. I was anticipating salty meat - it arrived. Some meats are very very salty. I tried a few that were reasonable on the salt. I also requested medium-well beef. Everything was rare. Essentially, the outside is seared dark and the inside is uncooked. It all looks cooked from the outside. My comments confirm what some others found. The over-all experience is high end and enjoyable for certain people. It is not a place for screaming kids playing with the ice cream machine- like at Old Country. A high price point needs to be matched with high quality. The abundance of beef (pork and chicken are low material costs) suggests a premium price. That said, the "extras" needed to make a meal will break the bank. Salad Bar @ $25 alone is over-priced. Items are fine quality, beautifully presented. Selection of items is sparse, but they are premium - asparagus, roasted peppers, parm cheese. mushroom. More selection on the menu and included desert would make the price point more digestable. Room for improvement. Don't rest on your laurels. read more

This was my first time at a Brazilian steakhouse, and what a way to break the ice. If you like unlimited steak and chicken, and flavorful, this is the way to go. Everything was cooked well and delicious. The gauchos were friendly, prompt and just very attentive. So friendly that you felt like you made a bunch of new friends. I normally don't get into the social aspect for a dining experience like that, but that was just as important as the wonderful food. It was part of the unique experience of this sort of restaurant that is important. The salad bar was also top notch and calling it that, doesn't do it justice. Between the delicious cheeses, various salads and the luscious lobster bisque...it should called anything else. I struggled with whether or not to give five starts. While we have loved Brazilian BBQ in other parts of the world we HATED this. First off, the waiter was not at all informative. I told him right away that I cannot eat meat unless it is well done. He said "no problem" I will let the gauchos know now so they have it ready for you. Well that sure didn't happen! Everytime they came around with meat I asked for well done and they would say I will go order it for you. 5 minutes later someone would return with well done overly salted meat. It was like they injected it with a saline solution then rolled it in more salt. REally it was disgusting! The manager never visited our table just scowled in the corner while he talked to what appeared to be another manager. Our server was just plain bad too. He brought over a basket of 2 rolls for 3 people. Really? When we asked for one more he never returned! Nobody ever asked how we liked our food. If you like SALT you might like this place but we thought it was really bad. By the way, they also attempted to charge us for an extra person (dinners are $45 each) We had to hunt down our waiter and he did correct it. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I'm reporting this restaurant to th better business bureau! My friends and I went here on Sunday night... We had a great dinner... We split the bill on 3 cards and went on our way. Monday I check my bank account and I was charged the full amount of the bill... $300!!! I called the restaurant and the managers were incredibly rude. They blamed the waiter and said the problem would be fixed by the end of the day... No only did they not fix the $300 mistake they did nothing to compensate us for their mistake either or try to get us to come back in. I took me calling their corporate office and calling my bank to fix the problem. Also the suggested tip at the bottom of the receipt is completely wrong!! We got 2 drinks at the bar that totaled $17.50 and the suggested 15% tip on the receipt was $8... Anyone with any math smarts knows that $8 is way more than 15%! What a waste of time and complete scam this place is!!! I say again DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went here a few times already and I enjoyed myself. To start, this place is really busy... so as you make your way to your seat you may find yourself weaving through the many chairs of patrons at their tables. Also, be mindful of the type of shoes you wear here! I mean it! I was maneuvering through the place in my 4.5 inch pumps and realized that the floor is extremely slippery. Not too sure what's it's made out of but very slippery none the less. So be careful! So when we got to our seats, the waiter explained to us how it was setup (typical instructions for anyone who's never been there) The buffet is open and ready for you to indulge it and you get these front/back circular cards that you put on your table to alert the waiters as to when/when not to bring the meat. The meat is served non stop by waiters holding skewers (Texas de Brazil). Now I will say that the buffet is large and has a variety of tasty options (cheeses, breads, salads, shrimp, bacon, soups...) You can really get full off of that alone. The meats however did taste very salty for my liking. But overall, the tenderness of the meats were 'molto bene' Our waiter brought over the dessert menu at the end of the meal but we were so stuffed. Note that the desserts are not part of he overall price to eat which totals about $45.00 before tax and tip. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for someone yet to experience their first Texas de Brazil and seeking a unique dining experience.
