    9 ounce filet with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.

    I had the 9 ounce filet. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare. The dinner for two includes a salad(Caesar or house), or soup. The main course also has a potato(I had the mashed Yukon Gold) and a wonderful vegetable medley of carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, all freshly steamed. The bread basket had a lovely crusty bread and some wonderful cinnamon toast. There are three butters, a plain, whipped, a sweet one and a savory one with black olives in it. Dinner for two also includes coffee or tea. Dinner for two can be ordered for any number of people.

    When I tell you the service was top notch, wow. The moment you check in, the service was absolutely amazing. They were very attentive throughout our meal. We ordered a few items to try, and everything was delicious. The oysters were on the smaller size but very tasty. I love their champagne mignonette for the oysters, delicious. More on the expensive side for sure but the quality made it worth it. The mood was really nice, too. Where we were sitting, it felt very private which was nice since it was a date night. Overall, I would come back here again for the food. It was delicious and I left super full!

    Service was great and everyone was super nice. Food was just ok. Not bad, but nothing stood out and wowed us. My filet mignon taste like pot roast. My husband steak was not hot and cooked under. We didn't take the leftovers, which we always do. The ambiance was cool. Beautiful fishtank in the entrance. Would come back if ever in Buffalo.

    Very disappointed in our recent visit. We have been coming every year to celebrate our birthdays and also stay overnight. I made the reservation weeks in advance for dinner and added a note that we were celebrating. I realize this may not transfer over from the 3rd party site they use but the waiters are always good about asking us when they first come over. We enjoy getting dressed up for the occasion and enjoying a quiet and intimate dinner. Well, it started off bad from the start when we were seated in the bar area on a Bills game Sunday . The game was over but the people at the bar were still enjoying their drinks and food with most in jerseys , the TVs were blasting and everyone was talking loudly in order to talk over the loud TVs. When we were seated, I asked why we were being sat there and was just that there was a 10 min wait for the dining area so this is where they sat us. They did not ask if we wanted to wait 10 the 10 mins because if they had, we definitely would have said yes! As we sat there with everyone getting louder and more people coming to the bar from the game, I just couldn't believe that they would even have tables in the area and would put people there without a choice. It felt like we were at a local sports bar not Russel's! When the waitress finally came, she didn't ask if we were celebrating and was just in a hurry to grab our drink order because she was swamped with other tables. I had mentioned I was not impressed with the seating area and she did offer to "ask if we could be moved" and without a guarantee and the fact we had already been sitting at the table , and it was already 7:45 so I was hungry I just decided to stick it out. Well it did not get better and made for an awful time that I could not wait to get out of there! We will be choosing somewhere else next year and years going forward

    My work had our yearly Christmas party here, it was my first time dining at Russel's. It was decorated beautifully for the occasion, pretty lights and lots of Christmas trees. Their banquet area was perfect for our small staff of about 40-50 people. The wait staff were attentive and polite, truly excellent service. For starters we had Caesar salad, which was delicious you could tell the dressing was homemade, and the cheese was fresh shaved parmesan. I also ordered the filet mignon, served with green beans and mashed potatoes. The filet was smooth like butter, delicious. I would have liked a little more seasoning, that is my only qualm. The mashed potatoes were homemade and perfectly smooth. Gravy was robust and had a lot of flavor. For dessert we had cheesecake with raspberry sauce on top which was very very good. Everything was hot, fresh and served with a smile. Honorable mention, I had a cranberry mule and a Mrs clause drink that were to die for. Thank you for having us Russell's !

    I feel like I am repeating myself, we were here last year and picked the same menu. "Dinner for Two" for $54 a person. You can order it in any number, doesn't have to be 2! It includes a starter (choose from 3 salads or 2 soups, some have a small extra charge). There was a bread basket with excellent sweet cinnamon crisps, baguette and 3 kinds of butter (normal, sweet honey and with olives). For the main course there are 8 choices. As starter I picked the Caesar, which was nice and crispy and with not too much dressing. They offer ansjovis on it, but didn't mention the $2 extra. For the main course I picked the filet Mignon. For $8 you can upgrade from a 6 to an 9 ounce filet. It was cooked to perfection and came with a mix of steamed vegetables. Broccoli, green beans, culliflower and carrots.. 3 choices for the potatoes, I had the Yukon gold mashed potatoes. The dinner comes with a coffee or tea to end this dinner for two. We were there on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed. The service was once again great.

    Russell's Steaks Chops & More is the best restaurant I've found in the Buffalo area. It's a totally new place, ultra-modern and ultra-chic with the best, most outstanding wait staff to be found. When I arrived, I can't say I wasn't surprised but impressed to find Russell himself right behind the host stand. Recognizing me he nodded and tapped on one of the other host greeters who escorted my partner and I to a banquette table and I swear the finest table in the house with an elevated impressive view of the entire dining area. I started off with a good Tanqueray gin Gibson on the up. I rarely order a Gibson as most restaurants have allowed their cocktail onions to spoil and become mushy or, they have none at all. To start I ordered a Ceasar with extra anchovies. I was delighted when it arrived as it not only had the usual romaine, croutons, and parmigiano but also a Reggiano cheese and white, not the canned black anchovies. For my entree, I went for the Filet Au Poivre with a heavy sear but done rare. I was sort of a complicated order but my waiter bever batted an eye and, when it arrived, it was perfect. The flavor-enhancing cipollini onion, cremini mushroom, and brandy peppercorn sauce brought the dish to the highest heights of deliciousness. For a dessert, I couldn't resist their custard-based, caramelized top crème brulee with a strawberry garnish. Five Yelp Stars!

    I was expecting so much more from this place. The service was mediocre and we went long stretches of time without our waiter coming by. The food was not worth the price either. The filet Oscar was very very fishy and the flavors of everything were pretty bland. My steak was cooked the way I asked for it and their coffee affogato was very good which saved the meal. The restaurant ambiance was very loud and quite dark too. Most likely won't be returning as there are many other restaurants locally where I could get better food and service for less.

    Does Russell's serve Thanksgiving dinner?

    The Restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving.

    Do they have a kids menu? I have a 5 year old in my party and she doesn't need so much food.

    More of a classic steakhouse so not really a kids place.

    Is there a dress code OR preferred dress for the Chandelier Bar?

    I doubt you would be asked to leave the restaurant for what you wear unless it's very inappropriate..I believe it's preferred dress..goes to image and atmosphere. Enjoy!
