Of course, the lady didn't tell exactly what happened, but my wife, a witness, and the police came to the same conclusion as for fault. Definitely best reputable rates hands down. Just don't have 2 accidents within 2 months like me! However the claim service was always professional. My last claim was large with out-of-pocket for an extended rental period for which TFB only paid half against what they promised. Otherwise, you will be completely taken care of with very quick response time. I am a repair facility. My customer brought in their RV for some repairs that were covered, and Tx. Farm Bureau covered those repairs and issued the check directly to the customer. I have multiple policies 4 autos term and whole life also renters. I have never filed a claim with them and our house flooded over the weekend. I didn't want to bug my agent on the weekend so I texted her monday and told her my house flooded and she said she believed it was covered and to call the office to start the claim. So I went through the whole process and told the girl at the office, the claims department and gave a statement to the adjuster. Again I told them exactly what happened. They still proceeded to waste 30 minutes of my time on the phone along with having my wife stay home to wait on them to come take pictures, just to tell me flood damage isn't covered when they could've told me up front when I first spoke to them and it wouldn't have wasted anymore of anyone's time. Also when I got the policy I was not offered flood coverage nor was I made aware in anyway that it was something separate. Poor service all the way around if you ask me. Also I send them people every chance I get. Unless they redeem themselves some way then I will cease promoting them in any way, also will continue to tell my story to anyone that will listen and being a manager at a car dealership I see a lot of people and get asked recommendations for auto insurance daily. Very hard to work with and the Claims adjusters love to take their sweet time on things to drag out things. They juggle you around from different Claims adjusters losing your information along the way, so you will have to remind them of things or resend them new copies of paperwork you have already sent. You will have to call them over and over because apparently they keep their phones on silent or their voicemails don't get them your messages and somehow russians must be misdirecting emails you are trying to send them because you will never get a reply unless you finally call the higher ups on the claims side. My 17 yr old was stuck outside her locked car for 2 hours with a automated text saying delayed coming every few minutes to no one showing up at all I drive 45 min to pick her up called back to have someone meet us at 9:00 am No one showed again. When I called they tried to start over I am like do you not have record of someone suppose to come this morning. Been a long standing policy holder with TXFB. My portfolio (I have auto, home, rental property, renters insurance for college student) with them has been bounced around from agent to agent. I have been with TXFB over 35 years and I get some bozo agent that just entered the insurance field. He cannot answer any insurance questions. I had to ask him to review our coverage of our primary residents. I'm telling HIM what to review, doing his job but paying them premiums. What's wrong with this picture. The property is, by TXFB standard, under insured by $15k on the renewal policy. They will increase policy but need interior pictures. They have insured the place for over 35 years. Why? Staff in office is rude - asked receptionist not to talk over me when I called and she told me NO, she WOULD talk over me. I told her I am hanging up due to her inability to listen to me and she said GOOD. They blame everything on their Waco office. So easy to blame and not be responsible for your own actions. Stayed with them because we have a young, under 26 male driver and thought we really could not go anywhere else to get auto insurance with him on it (he has a clean record). Guess what? We can! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I do not have TFB as my insurance, however had to deal with them as a claimant. They refused to pay the repair shop for repairs, insisted on sending me a check with my name and the company that I have a car loan through, which is not convenient considering I have to send it in the mail to them to endorse, then wait to get it back, then give it to the repair shop. The repair shop I went to has a direct payment system with TFB to avoid this from happening but the agent assigned to me (Trey M) refused to do this. He has been unbearable to work with, highly unprofessional, rude, refused on multiple occasions to have his supervisor call me. Refused to work with me or the repair company. Refused to approve a rental comparable to my vehicle. I have a minivan and need the extra seats for my children, Trey denied the request and said that per Texas insurance laws, he only has to provide a vehicle and if I need a minivan I can pay the extra cost myself. When I was finally able to get a call from his supervisor, he said that only Trey could approve the increase request since he is the agent assigned to me. This whole ordeal has been awful!!!!! It should have been an easy process however TFB made it a nightmare! read more

Wow. I'll make this brief. 10 years I have been with this company. Within that time one accident and no tickets. Yet when I called to ask why my rates were going up they gave me the "everyone's rate went up" routine. I never spoke with my agent. Another agent said they could work on a more reasonable policy at a better rate but never followed up. When I went in to cancel my policy a women non nonchalantly said sorry to hear that. So think twice about this group. Horrible customer service and bad rates. Oh did I mention the membership fee paid every year. That also increased. This is the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with in my whole entire life. Here is a little back story, On Sunday night approx 9:20 my vehicle was parked in front of my home, I went outside to clean my seat and in less than 5 minutes my neighbor hits my door and continues to drive off, I ran down the street since I didn't have my keys or my phone on me, and there was a guy standing outside that was no help as I yelled to him that the car just hit my door. Finally the lady driving turns around at the end of my street and comes back, she smelled like a drunk and didn't even have her insurance paper with her. She called her husband and told him she hit my door, my husband was doing the talking since I was furious. Both the lady and her husband said don't worry our insurance will pay for this we are sorry. Today Thursday afternoon I finally get a call from their adjuster saying that according to the driver my door flew open and she hit it, so she straight up lied and they aren't paying anything for the damage that they did to my car. I called the police department to file a report and they said they couldn't do anything since a few days have passed and they said I would have to go to another county to file a claim if I decide to sue them. I may be better off if I sue the insurance company! read more

I do not like that they would not pay for new parts on my car and they wouldn't cover my rental car for the duration my car was in the shop. I've been with them for over three years now. The cost of paying for the extra time my car is in the shop plus the new part would've been about three month's of payments. They advertise all this customer advocacy but really cheap out and try to cut costs. However, the claims process is a lot easier with TX FB than it was with the other person's insurance (which is why I filed with my own insurance in the first place). I've heard a lot of places are a pain to deal with the claims process, but that part of it was actually pretty simple with TX FB. Shocking how poor their customer service is. Had I the funds, I'd certainly have taken legal action. One of their insured totaled my car. It was, admittedly, entirely her fault. They did not declare liability for my claim until a week after the accident happened. Again, not being made of money, I drove a treacherously unsafe vehicle to work every day for the next week. I had to take back roads and drive with my flashers on. It was miserable, scary, and humiliating. I took my car into the shop the day the insurance company declared they would be covering the damage. They said they'd try to get someone out to look at the car and assess damage that day, but it might be the next morning. I called at the end of the next business day and left a message. I left messages every day for the next week, until finally, someone called to apologize to me and say my contact there had been on vacation and no one had gone to assess the damage on my car yet. I obviously had a rental car during this time, but it was very stressful not being able to get in touch with anyone at the insurance company and not knowing if my car had been seen. (it hadn't.) I drove quite far to pick up the check for my totaled vehicle from their office. They should have driven it to me, but I was too fed up to trust them to take care of anymore important dealings in my life. read more

The truck of one of their insured rolled back into my car, crushing a corner. I filed a claim with the insurance info pulled up by APD. John H. was the assigned claims adjuster or "Senior Claim Representative." He called the next business day or two to ask for photos to help with their investigation. His overall response time was very fast, his conversation was very professional, and he was very thorough and polite explaining the process. He also had a very cheerful tone of voice that was reassuring to unhappy claim filers. John H. not only answered his phone, but even answered during lunch. (That's more than I can say for some other claims adjusters!) Their car inspectors/adjusters are mobile, cover an area with a wide-enough radius even out to Bastrop, and also work fast. My adjuster Robbie inspected my car damage and prepared the estimate while my car was parked in my office parking lot in North Central Austin. Their compensation was as fair as you'd expect and complies with regulations. I was very impressed overall with Texas Farm Bureau. This was the first time I'd heard of this insurance company. John H.'s office address may not be at this Rundberg location but Yelp results only showed the Rundberg location. read more

After 20 years with All State, I moved to Farm Bureau. I was with them for about 9 months when another Farm Bureau client hit my brand new vehicle. I picked a dealership to have it repaired and told them I wanted a new bumper. They said, sorry, Farm Bureau determines if we repair or replace. I requested a fair amount for diminished value because they only repaired it. I also asked to be fairly reimbursed for time and mileage spent dealing with this. They offered an insulting number and then gave numerous "used car salesman" reasons why I didn't deserve more for diminished value. One of them said it didn't allow for diminished value because a potential buyer would only know if it was in an accident if I told them. Huh??? I said I was going to hire a lawyer and sue the guy that hit me. They said "Ok". That made me feel awesome as a Texas Farm Bureau client myself!!! The sad thing is that I love my agent. He's a good man with a lot of integrity. That blinded me to the corruption on the back end of this company. I'll have another insurance company within the next couple of weeks and Farm Bureau will be in my past. And if someone else from Farm Bureau hits me again, I'm not calling the claims number. I'm going to call a lawyer and sue the person who hit me for the amount it takes to make me whole again. He can deal with those pirates on his own. One more thing...I've never considered filing a lawsuit against anyone or posting a review online. This is a first for both. That should tell you how bad this experience has been. I was rear ended by a large truck going approx 35-40 mph while I sat at a red light, by the grace of God no one was killed. *The claims agent argued with me for 4 days as to why I was not going to drive one of the smallest cars on the market. I quote Tx Farm Bureau agent " Why do you think you need a SUV?" My answer is alI I am asking for is a standard size car. The trauma and fear of just getting plowed into by a truck is overwhelming and you want me to drive a tiny car. *I have left 3 messages with no return phone calls 2 of those were to a manager. I have resorted to texting the claims agent in hopes of a response and still he only calls to tell me what they won't be doing. I have been bullied and belittled during the entire process. * TEXAS FARM BUREAU"s policy is to send a check to you and the finance company. Common practice and that is fine. The finance company won't endorse the check until there is a complete work order. Here lies the problem my car will be ready before the check gets there and TEXAS FARM BUREAU will not cover a rental during the days that the check is in transit. *According to my claims agent I need to overnight the check without the completed work order. Then I need to email or fax the completed work order because he has already talked to the finance company and that will be the fastest way to get the check endorsed. Come to find out there is not an email or fax to send the completed work order to, it has to be mailed. I have already overnighted the check for a cost of $25 now I am over nighting the complete work order for another $25. It truly saddens me that this is how business is being conducted today. read more

At one time I had all of my insurance through TXFB. I had a truck that was damaged in a hail storm and at one point it sat for 2 weeks waiting for their adjuster to respond to body shop requests. I found that paying for that awesome service they promised meant paying for someone to nickel and dime the repair of your vehicle and argue with the body shop at every turn. Then when you want to make a change to anything, an agent has to do it. Good luck figuring out who that is. Called the office of the guy listed on my account and his office told me I needed to call another office. That office asked me why I was calling them and told me to call the first office. I have been with this company for about 8 years now, and they subtlety increase your rates every six months; $3 increase a month here....$4 increase there...etc. Late last year, my rate increased by a whopping $15 a month, and when I called to see what the deal was, they said "every members rate went up, not just yours". Early this year, my monthly rate increased again by $18, and when I called again, they said "everyone's rate went up due to Hurricane Harvey". Two months ago, I filed a claim (for the first time in 8 years) for a fender-bender and it didn't take them long to increase my rate $25 a month. They will nickel-and-dime you. I was with Texas Farm Bureau for three years! And the way they handled the ending of my policy was was horrible! My policy was up for renewal and I called in to see when the new cards would come out. "I had no intention of leaving this company." When a rep informed me that I needed to make a payment. I was shocked by that because my payments automatically drafts out of my account. And I was not informed they had not received my payment. The rep proceeded to tell me I needed to make a payment by the 31st of July that gave me 3 days to come up with an extra 246.00 so I called the corporate office to see about and extension. I was able to Speak with a nice a Lady that gave me until the August 3rd to pay it. I called in to make my payment on the 2nd and paid the full amount owed. 8 days later I get a call from Texas Farm Bureau telling me they canceled my policy and sent me back 94.00. Out of the 246.00 I paid Which made no sense to me. I call to speak with someone at corporate and they told me the only person I could speak with is Sherry Chapa. When I was transferred over to her she tells me that they sent me a letter advising me of them not receiving my payment. I advised her I never received a letter. She asked me to confirm my address, I did. And the address they had on file was Not correct! Which blows my mind because I paid for my renters insurance with them for my apartment in full. And advised them of my new address back in March! And they never called me. But can call me to inform me they canceled my policy. Anyways, I advised Sherry chapa that I called an spoke with corporate rep an was given an extension to the 3rd. Sherry tells me there is no way someone Gave you and extension as she doesn't have the auth to do so. And that there were no notes in my file so that conversation did not happen. I've never been so insulted in my life. Why would I pay a company money 246.00 and lie about a conversation I had with an corporate employee. It's just insurance! If that was the case I just wouldn't have paid them at all! I asked Ms chapa to have her boss call me and I have yet to receive a call. I'm a firm believer in treating customers with respect and to value them because that's how you loss good business! I will never get insurance with Texas Farm Bureau again even if they are cheaper. I will happily pay the additional 33 dollars with a different company that will take care of me not treat me like I haven't paid them on time for the last 3 years. With no accidents! My mother added me to her policy almost 4 years ago when I was going through a divorce and couldn't afford my own insurance. It wasn't a problem I lived 1 minute up the street. They got all my information and added me to her policy. Now last November the day before thanksgiving I was on my way to work and was t-boned by a deer. The whole drivers side of my car was damaged. Never had a accident or ticket and I'm 38 years old. Now it's a problem that I am on her policy and they will not renew it with me on it. I really can't find one redeeming quality in this company and I've tried. No one in any department I speak with knows what's going on besides adding or dropping vehicles. That is it. Need roadside assistance? I hope you have several hours to make phone call after phone call to people who give you conflicting info. Oh they submitted your ticket because they roadside assistance company said you didn't have that coverage even though you do? Well guess what? The roadside assistance company will deny it and you have to start all over again. I had to tell my story to the same person five times in a matter of minutes because they kept misquoting me and misunderstanding. As you can hopefully tell, my communication skills are pretty accurate... unlike the information they seem to not bother to look up and the information they apparently don't write down and keep notes of though it's important to your claim/assistance. This is not the first time any of this has happened to me with this company. I wish I had an idea of how a company can crash and burn time and time again in every department and still manage to make their agents six figure salaries... which one of them told me is how much she makes. More than 6 weeks ago one of their policy holders ran me off the road and my car was not driveable. The claims were filed with my company and his (Texas Farm Bureau) right away and going on 7 weeks later now they still have not even looked at my car. I am honestly very disappointed. I was hit by a truck on 12/18 and the individual did not even stop to check if I was alright. I acted immediately and got a picture of the truck that hit me. I reported the incident and damages to Texas Farm Bureau insurance when I arrived at work. They gave me my claim number, and everything went accordingly. My agent tracked down the driver that hit my car, and filed a claim with Nationwide. Nationwide was unable to contact their customer for two weeks, and once they did, their claimant lied and said that is not what happened. Then Nationwide said that they will not cover the damages, since the stories are "contradicting" - who would of guessed it. Their person hits me, does not stop, and I make the claim- got lucky enough to get pictures of the truck that hit me.... Anyways, I contacted my insurance and they just tells me there is nothing Texas Farm Bureau can do. If nationwide denied the claim, there is NOTHING Texas Farm Bureu can do. Way to take my money EVERY month, and not have my back when I truly need it. No Subrogation process NOTHING- I was just told I can file a claim with the small claims court. I lost my $500 deductible, and a lot of time. Life lesson learned here, next time if anyone hits you and they run ( let's hope it isn't a fatal accident), don't bother getting evidence- just file as uninsured motorist- pay the $250 deductible, and save yourself a whole lot of time.
