The dental assistant was great when he brushed my grandsons teeth, as billed as a cleaning . My grandson is 2 1/2 ands this was his first appointment. The Dr didnt introduce himself. The DR , Dr Payne was agrgessive and not gentle. My grandson had his mouth open for the exam but i guess the dr was in a rush and yanked his mouth further. All he had to do was ask my grandson to open bigger. I thought this place supposed to be catering to children, not just with all of the games but with gentle patient care. The rest of the team was amazing and a great surprise to get ice cream after the appointment. read more

I brought my daughter for surgery and after two changes in the work order we got called in for a third signature wich is fine but the office manager Trina got defensive bye my wife and I asking questions in reguards to what work we were signing for. She was very combative she had no empathy, sympathy, or wanting to understand. When your child is getting surgery done you have every right to know whats going on. We were worried due to the lack of communication between staff and Im upset. Ive been bringing all 3 of my daughters since birth but that ends today. I will no longer be using texas dental, im a paying customer not a begging person. I can only imagine how that manager speaks to her staff or even persons that dont speak english. The scheduling for the west office is difficult. My child needed a tooth extraction due to pain and the employee gave me an appointment for 10 weeks out. She didn't ask me if the date worked (it didn't due to a prior commitment) then when I asked for an alternative and closer appt (due to my child's pain) it took her about 15min (yes at the counter) to find something else 2 weeks out. I received a call from the office offering me a sooner appt. I had to leave work to accommodate to the appt change and they turned us away because we arrived late. Our original appt was already given away and we have to either wait 10 more weeks or be on standby. We have also requested a particular dentist for all appts and it appears as though it's not notated on our profile because despite reminding the staff every time- our appts are still booked with any or random dentists. Great dentist but poor staff who appear lost when you speak to them or just overworked. read more

This was our visit here. Came to have my sons check up. We haven't brought him to a dentist since we moved here 3 years ago. I'm just sad we didn't bring him in sooner. This dentist office is pretty neat... they have lots of things from video games to climbing toys, a carousel and even a train for the kids. At first glance that's a pretty awesome set up. Than you realize it's 2:00 and you haven't been called back yet for your scheduled 1:30 app. This was our first time ever going and I had 4 kids (2,5,14 and 17) all being seen, so maybe it was because of all the paperwork. (Which had an eye opening question on one of their forms that I made sure to mark NO in the blank... it asked if my child could be restrained... umm not no but HELL NO... We have always had our children go for their cleanings and check up... my older girls even wear braces... we move often because we are a military family and I can honestly say I have never had that on any of the paperwork I've filled out at any other dental office... ( that was my ok, keep your eyes and ears open moment) but No big deal, maybe that was for certain situations ‍. The hygienist that had my two little ones was AMAZING... she was sweet and gentle and spoke with the kids every step of the way. The older two were taken into a different room because they were older and as we know get deeper, more intense cleans. When the dentist came to check teeth... not once did he introduce himself to my children... which is odd for a kids dentist(at least I think) the goal is to make them feel comfortable with you and enjoy their time there, not once did he care that my 5 year old despises minty flavors or bubble gum flavors and of course bubble gum was used ( but she sat like a champ not saying a word)... then he left and the hygienist finished by putting on fluoride... while she was putting on the fluoride you could hear a child SCREAMING down the hall... the hygienist gave the kiddos more gifts (water bottle t-shirts, prizes and of course the usual toothbrush and tooth paste). The kids were given ice cream and we went to wait for the bigger girls by the toys... time goes on and on and now it is 4pm and my big girls are still not done I ask what's going on and I'm told they are almost done... I go sign that chart they have and my 17 year old is in the chair almost done... When we get to the car my older girls both tell me how much pain they were in and how that the reason it took so long was because their hygienist kept going in and out... once to sign happy birthday to someone (eye roll)... When we get home my oldest of the two shows me how her gums are actually cut in two places. Cleaning isn't supposed to cut your gums... this is not okay and we will most definitely not be back... I'd prefer over the cool toys ,ice cream and treats a more up to date on how to relate to kids and a gentle clinic. The front lady's were very friendly I do want to add that in as well. Have to say I had zero complaints about this dentistry I would 100% recommend this place. The staff was professional and so kind. They really knew how to deal with children from the front counter all the way to the doctors as well as the assistant they were awesome. Really made my daughters whole experience amazing and not fearing the dentist. They also had really fast service and really ensured you understood everything about your child's teeth before leaving. The building was very clean and safe considering all the cool things they have for the kids. Overall great experience!! 10/10 read more

The staff here is super friendly and always goes out of their way to accommodate the patients and their families. Available appointment times are easy to meet your needs with weekend hours available. The play area at the new facility shows they their focus is to create a comfortable atmosphere for children to want to come visit the dentist office. I wish I had these services when I myself was a child! Parents are offered water, cookies, and ice cream while they wait In the lounge with over 20 massage chairs. After the patients have their teeth looked at they are offered soft serve ice cream and given a gift or toy along with their new toothbrush, floss, brushing timer, and travel size toothpaste. The staff always is friendly and they even take the time to call ahead to remind you of your appointment. My three children have been seen here for 3 years in El Paso and they have diminished their fear of going to the dentist. I highly recommend bringing your kids here. I would rate them zero stars if I could, unfortunately I can't. Staff is okay, Dr. Payne however is the most arrogant medical professional I've ever met. Refused to listen to me when I told him my 11yo could still feel pain during her extraction. Began to tell me that it was all in her head and spoke to me as if I was uneducated how local anesthesia works. Unprofessional in all aspects of his job. Couldn't believe the way I was spoken to and how poorly my daughters concerns were brushed off. Demanded him to stop and asked for a different dentist to finish my daughters oral work. We went to this office for a second opinion because we were overwhelmed with the treatment plan another dentist said my two kids needed. We had a early appt at 7am and were welcomed as we walked in the door. We were taken back quickly, where both my kids were given exams that resulted in a very different plan than the dentist a week ago, at a different office. I was 100% more comfortable with the staff and their decision at Texas Kid dental on Joe Battle. They got BOTH my children in the same day for treatment and everything went way better than I expected. So glad I decided to get a second opinion because this office and staff was way more welcoming and I didn't feel like they were just out to take as much money as they could. The games and entertainment are nice but it's not that important in my opinion. We didn't wait long enough to need the games and stuff, but if there was a long wait, it would come in handy. read more

I booked an appointment on a Friday for Monday asking for my daughter to be seen by Dr. Jennings because I was referred by a friend that takes both of her kids to Joe Battle location. When making the appointment I asked the lady if it would be Dr. Jennings she said , "yes". On Monday morning, I called the dentist office to make sure it was going to be Dr. Jennings again and a lady named Monica verified it would be that doctor. My husband took my daughter to the appointment he sat for a hour before my daughter was seen--AND my daughter was not seen by Dr. Jennings- She was seen by Dr. Burk. It is frustrating when I request a specific doctor because it was recommend and I am told "yes" then we are given a different doctor. The point is be honest if the doctor isn't available. read more

The staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful. This place is chuck e cheese on steroids, no lie, it is like nothing I have ever seen before. After my kids visit with Dr. Aim, excellent doctor by the way, very nice, friendly and informative, he was very kind to my children and they really enjoyed him as a Doctor. He has a wonderful personality, he made our visit easy, and with three children at the same time that is not a simple task. I would refer anyone with a special needs child here! This place is great! Overall score of 100!! They rock! For a military family looking for a dental clinic to take care of your family, this is the place. The staff is very friendly and speak proper English and Spanish however very receptive when you have special situation and they will try to accommodate emergencies when needed. When making appointments they (receptionist) will call you 24hrs prior to your appointment as a reminder that you are scheduled for the following day. The new facility has state of the art equipment and amenities. As a parent, the kids will want to come due to it's kid friendly and while the kids are entertained the parents can relax in the massage chairs or watch movies on the flat screen TV's. The dentist, are very skilled and make the kids feel calm before any procedures however good quality service. By far, this dental clinic is the best that I have seen in over 20yrs. I do not have words for how amazing this office is. I picked my son up from school for his appointment and the first thing he said was, 'I'm nervous.' I am not even SLIGHTLY exaggerating when I say that as we left he stated, 'I LOVE the dentist!' My son went in for a check up and cleaning. He hadn't been in quite some time (hence the nervousness). I adored the arcade games as we walked in, the personable and professional staff working there, the tv's over the chairs, and just the overall experience. I personally avoid the dentist at all costs, but my son cannot wait to go back. I legitimately wanted to hug each and everyone in there for being so amazing. Greatest dental place I took my kids by far. From the moment we stepped in we felt very welcomed. The staff was amazing, everybody was so nice. The dentist did a great job on both my kids, he knew what he was doing and made them feel very comfortable. Not one complaint about this place. They have a big play area so the kids feel comfortable before there treatment. They have a theater, iPads, a playground, arcades, and a carousel. And on top of that they have ice cream....But the best thing I like about this place was the staff and dentist, they explain everything and they know what they are doing.
