This was our visit here. Came to have my sons check up. We haven't brought him to a dentist since we moved here 3 years ago. I'm just sad we didn't bring him in sooner. The staff was very helpful, sweet and informative. The establishment is WOW! My son had a blast in their arcade! Thank you Texas kids dental for taking care of my son.

The staff here is super friendly and always goes out of their way to accommodate the patients and their families. Available appointment times are easy to meet your needs with weekend hours available. The play area at the new facility shows they their focus is to create a comfortable atmosphere for children to want to come visit the dentist office. I wish I had these services when I myself was a child! Parents are offered water, cookies, and ice cream while they wait In the lounge with over 20 massage chairs. After the patients have their teeth looked at they are offered soft serve ice cream and given a gift or toy along with their new toothbrush, floss, brushing timer, and travel size toothpaste. The staff always is friendly and they even take the time to call ahead to remind you of your appointment. My three children have been seen here for 3 years in El Paso and they have diminished their fear of going to the dentist. I highly recommend bringing your kids here. They do take MetLife military dental insurance.

IPAD area for parents to utilize Internet while kids are playing in the kiddos area.

It was pretty busy at that time but the staff keeps it well organized so everything ran smoothly. The had 2-3 flat screen TV's playing Disney's Cars to keep the kids entertained. There were also plenty of art/crayon boxes and books to keep the kids occupied while they wait. Surprisingly, we only waited about 1-2 minutes and my son was on his way to the chair. The Dr. was great and explained the procedure for the 1st appointment making sure to keep my son as comfortable as possible as well as Mommy and Daddy. After he was seen , he was entered in a raffle for a free CD stereo (this office has been known to give out Sony PSP's in the past, too). He was also given a Peter Piper Pizza certificate for a free personal 7' pizza and drink. He also left with a goody bag with stickers and a toothbrush. Nice touch!

Our experience today was incredibly disappointing…read more I took my children in for their routine dental cleanings, and before the dentist had even examined them, we were told they would not receive a cleaning unless I agreed to X-rays. My concern wasn't that X-rays are never necessary--it's that they were being required before anyone had even looked at my children's teeth to determine whether they were actually needed. As a parent, I believe medical procedures should be recommended based on the patient's individual condition, not as a mandatory prerequisite for a routine cleaning. If the dentist had completed the exam or cleaning and found something that warranted X-rays, I would have absolutely been willing to have that conversation. Instead, we were told no X-rays meant no cleaning. When I questioned the policy, the staff became argumentative and brought the dentist into the conversation. He explained that requiring X-rays was to protect him from liability. Respectfully, his liability is not my primary concern--my children's healthcare is. I should be able to ask questions and make informed decisions about my children's care without being denied a routine cleaning because I declined a procedure that had not yet been shown to be necessary for them. Families deserve individualized care, open communication, and respect--not blanket policies that leave parents feeling pressured into consenting to procedures simply so their children can receive basic preventive care. We left without my children receiving the care they came in for, and that is unacceptable.

Reception and front office was rude when I first arrived. Yes, we are all stressed but you don't have to be disrespectful. My cleaning was sub-par and probably the worst I've ever had. They have a crazy credit card payment system and they may have charged me twice because they thought it didn't go thru. The doctor was very thorough and I felt comfortable with working with him. Last, since I will not be returning, I asked for my medical records to be sent over to the new office. Good luck with that process as they won't answer the phone or respond to emails. It will take at least a week to get them transferred over according to the person who handles that process. Don't be fooled by the low intro prices they offer, it's not worth it and the other charges can get expensive quickly.

Short version: SMILE HEROES IS AMAZING. A++++. Highly recommend!!!…read more Long version: Just moved to the area and two weeks ago, my three year old son woke up with his face, swollen on the right side. Needless to say, it was a trip to urgent care because it was Sunday and there were no dentists open. He had an abscess tooth. Antibiotics were prescribed and we were told to watch throughout the day to see if the swelling went down or grew worse. By the next morning we were noticing a slight worsening and so on the the E.R. we went. (I preface all this to give you the best picture of a family, scared for our little boy and unsure what to do or where to go). The E.R. doctor told us to get a dentist, right away. Here I am, completely at a loss. I do a quick Google search and there is Smile Heroes with top ratings and stellar reviews. "Sure," I think, "this is the internet. It's easy to pad the opinion to get clients." I called to gauge the atmosphere and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. More than that, I explained my son's dilemma and she was legitimately concerned and intent on getting us in as soon as possible. I'm feeling better. Here's at least one person who seems to care and not put on the clinical robot facade. Okay. Onto the Dentist... WHICH WAS AMAZING (two times amazing!) First off, the setting is brilliant. The dentists have made the place to be a sort of gaming center, which immediately engaged my children and stifled all those 'scary dentist fears'. The kids played, we filled out the paperwork in peace and the staff was incredibly helpful. My wife was able to go in the back with my son. The dental assistants were very gentle with him and with her concerns. And then Dr. Pham was in to see them within a few minutes. He was very kind and thorough in his examination. He identified the problem and recommended we get my son in that very evening to take care of the tooth. So my wife comes back that night with my son and he is happy to go back and play! Unfortunately for him, there was not much play, because the dentist was incredible efficient in getting him back and settled in a room where my wife held him while a movie played. All my wife's questions and concerns were addressed. The procedure was extremely quick. My son was well taken care of, throughout, and Dr. Pham even called that night and the following morning to check on him. Dr. Pham has a gift of empathy and patience that put us all at ease. He is REALLY GOOD with children. He and his wife even came out to chat with us after our son's check up, just to get to know us. His wife played with our kids while we talked. Such a great couple! I cannot recommend this establishment enough. These people legitimately care, which is unfortunately not something you find in many businesses, today. Everyone on staff is respectful and friendly. Such a wonderful experience. My family is so blessed to have found Smile Heroes.

I know I fell asleep when she worked on repairing a filling. They worked with our schedules and we all were able to get our cleanings and fillings done with our insurance. Billing was very clear and they asked permission before doing any procedures. I felt very safe with their COVID procedures. They do temperature checks and limit capacity. I believe they have a East and West location and went to the Sunland park location. Best of all it's right across from Gorditas Tony so we're able to get yummy food right after.

Before the appointment, we asked staff to accommodate his needs - things like extra time to adjust, clear/ simple explanations before any tools touched him, and patience if he got overwhelmed. This is a standard, reasonable request for a child with sensory and processing differences. Unfortunately, our request was ignored. Staff did not adjust their approach, moved quickly without preparing him, and were short and impatient with him when he became anxious. He was clearly distressed, and instead of being met with the accommodation we'd asked for, the response felt punitive rather than supportive. As his parent, watching a healthcare provider treat a neurodivergent child this way was disappointing and, frankly, felt discriminatory. Dental visits are already hard for kids with autism/ ADHD -- a good pediatric-friendly office should know how to work with that, not against it. We won't be returning, and I'd encourage other parents of neurodivergent kids to ask detailed questions about their accommodation practices before booking here.
