I looked into this company as an option for me to move cross country, as my friend was using them to move the same place. However, after hearing about the absolutely HORRIFYING experience she has endured with this company, I don't think they should be ever allowed to move anyone's items again. After providing a grossly low underestimate of cost, this team bait and switched my friends out of thousands of dollars. This included a breach of contract about a promised first-responders discount. What's worse is the deeply unprofessional verbal abuse my friends endured by the owner Michelle and verbal threats illicited by the mover Chlomi. Their items, everything they owned, was literally held hostage while this process was happening. The owners and team were also very unresponsive about any progress, leaving my friends to wonder where their beloved belongings were being kept and when they would be arrived. I recently used Texas Moving group to handle my move from Fort Worth to Arizona. On February 7th, I received a final quote after updating my inventory list. I accurately listed everything that was going to be moved and was quoted a total price of $1391.25. Pick up date 2/20-2/21. They called two days before and confirmed they would show up on 2/20. I had everything segregated that had to be moved. Immediately upon walking into my apartment, the driver said it would cost more than what I was quoted. I asked how much. He did some calculation and told me it would be $2861.25 - OVER DOUBLE OF WHAT I WAS QUOTED!!! When I questioned it, he said I could get my deposit back and get another mover.... But it was two days before I had to be out of my apartment. I was stuck and they knew it. This was a complete bait and switch. When I looked at the other quotes I had received using the same exact inventory list, their estimated cubic foot of volume was much closer to the actual than what Texas Moving Group quoted. This was way off!!! I reluctantly had to move forward and they packed my stuff. And I had to pay the balance in full. When they were done, I called management. They told me this guy had been doing this for over 20 years and knew what to look for. I asked about their accuracy on quoting. The woman I talked to, whom I believe was the owner or manager, said I was asking for confidential information. This is preposterous. Someone needs to check into this before they overcharge another customer by over double what they quoted. She told me I could get a full refund if I found another mover. So, I did find another mover who would move my stuff. Once Texas Movers found out, they retracted and said I could get only half of my payment refunded. So again, it would be even more expensive so I just told them to go ahead and finish the move. But, the other company then called me and said they couldn't do it because they felt uncomfortable going to a competitor to pick up my stuff and also told me they contacted Texas Moving Co. and I was labeled a "difficult customer". My paperwork says the delivery would be between 3/1/2020 and no later than 3/5/2020. On 3/2/2020, I phoned and the guy I talked to said they hadn't packed the truck yet but they were doing it that day and they should arrive at my home in Arizona on 3/8/2020 between 3PM and 7PM. On 3/9/2020, after they never showed up nor did I get a call, I called again. I was told the driver would be there the following day (Tuesday, 3/10/2020) and they would pack my stuff up and leave either that day or the next. I called on Thursday, 3/12, and left a message to get a status update. No call back. Called again on Friday the 13th and was told the driver that was supposed to be there on Tuesday didn't show up. He was coming from New York and with all the coronavirus issues going around, they didn't feel comfortable having him drive. Then I was told a driver was going to be there Saturday, the 14th of March and would load my stuff and leave. I completely understand the concerns around the virus but this was 3 weeks after they picked up my belongings. They said they would call and confirm that the March 14 packing and departure would happen. It didn't and I didn't get a call. I always had to be the one initiating the contact. Ironically, there is a quote on their paperwork that says "THE ONLY MOVING COMPANY THAT GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO SERVE YOU".... and "24/7 CUSTOMER SUPPORT" yet when I left a message on Monday March 2nd, I didn't get a call back until Thursday March 5th. And when I left a message on Thursday March 12, I didn't get a call back. And a few other times I tried during regular business hours, I got redirected to voice mail as there was "NO ONE ABLE TO TAKE YOUR CALL'. I called Monday, 3/16 - called 3x, forward to VM, left a message 10:30AM TX time. 11:30AM got a call from Michelle. She said driver is there and truck will be leaving in 1-2 days as it's being sanitized. I called again Friday, 3/20 - message was taken to have someone call me back. I got a text back on Monday 3/23 informing me of a limited staff due to coronavirus which I completely understand....but my issue began 3 weeks before the pandemic. I was told they were still working on deliveries but there was no update. I responded asking for a 50% refund on my final payment which I would repay at the delivery of my stuff. Michelle from Texas Movers Group said they could not do that because they already funded my account. She said she would have something shortly. I asked to reconsider my partial refund request if the delivery was going to be delayed much longer. Then I got a text saying a truck was scheduled the next day and they'd call to confirm. NO CALL. Wednesday 3/25, got a call from a driver saying he was en route. Finally got a delivery 3/26 after 5 weeks. I would NEVER recommend this company. read more

Bait and Switch: Run This company is a scam. Not only do they scam you, but they likely also scam their insurance companies through false claims. They begin the process with a very polite and professional-sounding salesperson. He will tell you everything you want to hear and give you a low and fair quote. This quote is non-binding, but they will tell you "The cost is a little more if you have more items and a little less if you have fewer." What they will not do is offer to see your items beforehand, promising you that your quote is likely going to be the correct price. When it comes to pickup, they come on time and with a manager. They will immediately begin loading items onto their truck. After a good amount is already loaded, the manager will tell you that you have a lot more items than quoted. Items you listed will somehow be missing from their list, and you will be told you never gave them the full inventory. In our case, a 2-bedroom was said to be around 4600, but the manager explained it will now be 8100. By then, you really don't have a choice but to agree due to how much is already loaded and because most of us are in a time crunch. The manger will pressure you into signing things by telling you to sign quickly, arguing with you over the estimate and the final total, and using "I've done this for x years, so I know what I'm talking about." He will hand you a pen and tell you to sign in multiple places, while never showing you the backside of the contract with all the legal items. After the pickup, they transfer your items to an undisclosed warehouse, where your items will remain for weeks (multiple weeks minimum; it took us close to a month to finally receive our things). They write you an initial "guaranteed" delivery date on your contract, but then their dispatch refers you to the back of the contract which explains there is a federally mandated 21 business days they can actually take to deliver, despite not explaining this to you beforehand. The dispatch manager, who probably has one of the worst customer service attitudes ever, will tell you everything was clearly explained even though it really is not. During those days, they will keep telling you "It's a few more days," and then they'll give you an excuse that something happened (not enough labor, then bad weather, then the truck broke down). They will also belittle you and ignore the majority of your calls as they keep repeating the same spiel that "Everything is clearly explained to you. If you want to pick up your items yourself, go ahead. I don't know when the driver is going to reach you." Dispatch even resorted to cursing at us stating "Come at me, b***h. Sue me. If you want your s**t, come pick it up yourself," and immediately hanging up. Despite following up with them, they kept saying our belongings would be delayed another week by some technical issue. The manager who assisted us with the move also told us that we would get a discount because he "will file with insurance" (whatever that means). When your items finally arrive about a month later (some reviewers state it took longer), you realize these people are brokers and your items are actually being delivered by a random third party. We ended up being told we owe another $1,500+ that was not discussed at all any time prior due to some shuttle fee that's slapped onto your online quote that they use as another contract. And, if you refuse to pay the fee, your items will be held hostage. However, when we told dispatch about our issue, they told us "it's not our problem." They didn't care if we're strapped for money or that they were passed the "guaranteed" 14 or 21 day mark (they constantly kept switching between the two over the phone), and will threaten to store your belongings in another location and charge you for holding the items. Also, if you booked a hotel, I apologize because you will be about 3-4k in the hole due to lack of communication on their part. They will never give you a clear ETA until the day of. You will also not get your discount. One last warning is that your items may be damaged. We had several items that were broken, scuffed, or dented during the move. When you get your boxes, they will look like someone dropped them or stacked them very poorly. We spent our Christmas in a hotel because of this poorly- operated company. Our advice is do not put yourself through the emotional stress we went through. They will bait and switch you for your money, lie to you about a delivery time, damage your belongings, yell at you and belittle you, and hurt third party movers they broker with. Quoted us $5200 for an Out of State move, with an Early Reservation Discount equivalent to $1.00/sq ft (in writing). Specifically requested my move out day well before the date arrived. They gave a window instead, even though I repeatedly asked for a specific day, which screwed up our move-out cleaning service (Note: They cannot guarantee a specific move out date). Upon arrival, quote immediately went up to $10K and by end of the day it was $16,500. But at that point, they had me. We had to move out and were stuck. They didn't give us the discount we were initially quoted because they 'gave' us blankets (i.e. didn't charge) to wrap all of our furniture and they say they packed the majority of our house, which they didn't. They would never answer the question where I showed all materials were included in the price, including gas. We were charged an excessive fuel surcharge. I asked multiple times for an explanation and was never given one. Within 30 minutes of arrival, the foreman is asking my wife who delivers food to our area. We lived well outside of town and we told them no one. She spent 45 minutes trying to find a pizza delivery company for him. Movers flooded the downstairs bathroom with excessive use of toilet paper, and then we (as owners) stumbled upon the water, everywhere, which they were trying to soak up with blankets. Movers broke an antique mirror, shattering it, after I gave explicit instructions to the foreman that they needed to be careful with this particular piece of antique furniture. Foreman, at one point, pointed to a large rear projection TV and asked me 'did I need that'. Yes...It's going. He said he wouldn't have room. I told him that it was going. Later, he pointed towards another stack of items and asked, 'did I need this' because he wouldn't have room. I told him I hired movers. It was NOT his job to tell me what I needed and didn't need. At this point, I was furious. Ultimately, they had to get a 2nd truck, which I told him when he rolled up that his truck was not going to be big enough. He indicated that he couldn't use normal highways because he'd be 'overweight'. Again, not my problem. Then, he asks my wife and/or me to take him to town to get 2nd truck because Uber didn't come to our area. After arguing with him back/forth several times during the course of the day, I was not going to get in a car with him for the hour round trip. Items were supposed to be delivered on Sunday/Monday window, after Friday move out. It took this company a full month to get us our belongings. They indicated their truck broke down in route from Dallas, TX, and our belongings sat on that truck (and a rented UHaul) for the entire month. We were originally told they'd be in a climate controlled environment. They definitely were not. The moving company offered a $500 refund for the delay, which they NEVER paid back. We are still waiting. Upon arrival of our items, another piece of antique furniture had 3 out of 4 spindle legs broken/crushed, because the movers stacked hundreds of pounds on top of the unit. We took pictures and pointed it out to the foreman. The previously broken antique mirror was supposed to be fixed before they dropped off furniture, with the foreman (Zach) indicating 'we fix'. Instead, the moving company indicated we needed to get quotes for the mirror, as well as the antique dresser legs and submit that to their insurance claims company. In addition, they crushed a Stainless Steel trashcan, tried to roll out the damage, but left creases and scars on the unit, which we also took a picture and showed the foreman. Definitely stay with the National Carriers and ENSURE that whoever you use comes to your house first and takes a full visual before they give you a quote. The only positive was that the actual workers did work hard, and wrapped our furniture well (except for the two antiques they broke). Foreman(s) don't really supervise. They sit in cab of truck. 2nd Foreman much more pleasant that first (Zack). Michelle, in office, not cooperative or responsive to questions/concerns. Their Google review showed 4.8 with tons of positive reviews. They stated they were AAA+ rated with the Better Business Bureau, but looks like that has since been removed from their website. Since it's apparent we were never going to get straight answers, even though we had stuff in writing that we provided back to them, and we aren't getting a refund, we are now posting our review. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW!!! I'm aware of the fact that many moving companies practice scummy behaviors, but Texas Movers Group has to be one of the most dishonest moving companies in the region. It's bad enough for the company to miss moving deadlines and pressure you into coughing up additional money while being stressed out, but to witness your belongings being tossed around like trash is simply reckless. For instance, your fragile pieces being stacked under heavy boxes, brand new furniture not getting wrapped, and misplaced boxes being mixed with other customers' belongings. Their manager, Shlomi Ohana(Shlo-mi), makes the matters unbearable. I literally cringed by how dehumanizing he treats his staff, and I erupted at the moment when Shlomi called my husband a F*%#ING FA*%#T for asking questions about excessive service charges. (If you choose to deal with this company, then do so wisely.) Question everything on that contract and dispute any issue ASAP! Texas Movers Group charges for services that are never fulfilled and often goes unnoticed. (Allegedly for legal purposes) This company/management make their profits by over-charging customers and under-paying their delivery partners. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. They start by giving you a low quote and promoting themselves as an honest and dependable moving company.. Far from the truth. Recently used them for a move from Texas to Illinois. They stated the quote is correct and no hidden costs. The day of the move, soon as the guy shows, he's telling me that it would be more and starts doubling the quote and adds fuel surcharges. Since I have to be out the next day, I am stuck using them. They did a poor job packing and arranging the stuff on the truck. The foreman was pushing for a full payment, which I refused. He wanted cash or postal money at delivery. They don't take money orders or cashiers checks from banks. The semi arrived to drop off my stuff, with one person moving everything. They guy was polite, but we ended moving things into our place. NO NO NO NO! Do Not! Turn Around, find another mover. Zero stars. This was the worst experience moving I have ever had. They will take your money , subvend everything and go back on any deals or agreements. Take note, the positive reviews are short, and they give you $100 if you review early. Talk to someone who got to the end before you trust their opinion. We moved from Texas to Florida and everything from the moment they showed up was awful. First, it was that they couldn't fit our belongings on the truck, so they would need another truck and that would cost $12,000 - only 3 x more than the original bid, but we had to be out in 3 days. At the end of the day, it all went perfectly on the truck they arrived with, but our price didn't adjust. We didn't have a whole lot of time to make another plan. Here's the thing that got me, you had to pay anything you wanted to put on a credit card right then and there. then the balance would have to be paid in CASH (which comes with zero buyer protections). I'm moving across the country and am closing on a house in 5 days, I need to close this so whatever it takes. We settle the issue with them, get the stuff on the truck and wait for our stuff to arrive in Florida. They had our stuff for 8 days, and on the 8th day when the drive showed up he claims he can't get into our subdivision full of 3,000 plus square foot homes with a semi, because everyone else drug their stuff on box trucks? I'm not buying it, and have seen semi 's in our neighborhood since. The driver informed us that this was the end of our services and that we would need to go get a UHaul truck and pay his movers double to move our stuff from the Semi onto a UHAUL box truck, and then into our house. All of our personal belongings were moved from the truck they were loaded onto, onto a semi, off of the semi, onto a UHaul, and then into our home. We lost a King Size mattress, a jewelry armoire, our dining room table, our carpet cleaner, a set of garage shelves, and our grill. The final shift cost us an additional $2,000 making our move cost $14,000. In retrospect, when the mover was at my gate commanding that I pay additional funds I should have called law enforcement, right then and there. It felt like blackmail. We moved in April, I couldn't write this review until January. It was the absolute worst experience, we've moved from Chicago to Columbus, Columbus to San Antonio, and this was our most recent move San Antonio to Tampa. DO NOT USE THIS GROUP...you will regret it. They picked up my items in Frisco, TX on 7/27/22 with a delivery window of no later than 8/10/22. Called & emailed on 8/11 asking where my contents were. That evening got an email stating there had been mechanical problems with the truck (looked and sounded just fine at pick-up). They obviously knew they couldn't make the agreed upon delivery date but never bothered to inform us. 2 calls later and now 8/13, they tell us the truck is fixed and will be back on the road Monday. When I asked the current location of the truck, they reluctantly told me TEXAS...had NEVER left! Michelle stated I would receive a call no later than the afternoon of 8/16 with a delivery time...no call. I called them and was told someone would get right back to me. It's now 8/19, I haven't heard from anyone, I just called again and got the answering machine. At this point I'm feeling like we've been ripped off. I could have pulled it FASTER in a wagon from TX to CA! All this + they an extra $1000 "because you're taking up more room than we estimated" even though I described the size of the storage space and contents in detail and with a piece of paper from them in hand that read "Not to Exceed $2100". Given that we flew in from CA to meet the movers and were flying back out, they realized they had us over a barrel and stuck it to us. The lawyer we spoke with indicates TMG already has a number of complaints filed against them with the NTSB just this year. AVOID. read more

DO NOT USE TEXAS MOVERS GROUP. They are a group of scammers. They work in concert to scam you on every corner. Texas Movers Group is a very dishonest business. They lie so easily it seems effortless. I hired them to move my goods and that was an enormous mistake on my part. The sales pitch is to underbid the competition. The moment you sign the contract the lies and misinformation begins. It started with them changing the date of pickup. I was assured the reason for delaying my pickup by 2 days was to ensure my goods would arrive by the expected delivery date. When the movers arrived late the first thing the older mover, Mark, did was looked at my items and without measuring he threw out a random number of how many cubic feet I was over. I even removed items from the inventory, but it was clear he had a price gouging goal he wanted to meet. He stated I needed to pay $800 more in order to move my goods. He then stated I would have to pay an additional 4% If I used a card for payment. When I pushed back on his random figure the rehearsed line about having 20 years of experience was spoken. Math is concrete regardless of how many stated years of experience. After coming to an agreement Mark sat the entire time and did not assist the other movers at all. The movers asked to use the bathroom ( I didn't mind). However, they left a puddle of urine on the floor in front of the toilet. After my goods were in the possession of Texas Movers Group I called to check the status of delivery. I was told by an extremely cunning and deceitful dispatcher ,Michelle, that my goods would definitely not make it by expected delivery date. I asked for an update of when to expect delivery. The accommodating and conciliatory customer service portrayed before they received my goods turned to complete garbage. Michelle stated Texas Movers Group had 14 days to deliver and didn't know when I would receive delivery within those 14 days. I even asked for a location update of my goods and she stated she didn't know. She then proceeded to tell me that she didn't know who could have told me that I would receive delivery around expected delivery date. Texas Movers Group is who informed me I could receive my goods near or on expected date of delivery. Her response then was to tell me I was lied to. How convenient to admit to a lie by your company when I literally did not know where my goods were or when I could expect to receive them. The inconvenience caused by utilizing The Texas Movers Group is beyond words. On day 14 my goods still did not arrive. I finally talked to Michelle for an explanation and she proceeded to move the goal post again. She then stated Texas Movers Group had extra days after 14 days to deliver. The price gouging continued upon date of delivery. The movers asked for an extra $350 because my front door was more than 75 feet from the freight liner my goods arrived in. On day 15 I finally received my goods and almost all were damaged. Needless to say I didn't receive my goods in the same good condition in which I gave them to Texas Movers group. Every box packed was busted. Almost all furniture pieces were damaged. My end tables were dented and chipped on the corners, night stands chipped and cracked, sofa arm loose and my glass top dining table shattered to pieces. This company is running a scam. Mine was an out of state move to Iowa, and when the movers came in on 7/28, a guy named Mark, went around to each of the rooms in my current apartment and said, you will be way over the 913 cubic feet on your quote, cost me $1000.00 more, this is the PHYSICAL MOVING DAY, what could I do???? I was moving out of state! if this was a local move, I would have told them to get the hell out. So, they take my inventory, don't tell me where, Mark tells me to call Michelle the following week, I do, and she gives me a total run around and bs about I can't give you an estimated date of delivery. So, this ordeal goes into week 2, and week 3, august 16th, the delivery of my inventory finally arrives. No communication of the delivery, horrible service, and abusive by the warehouse person, Zack, and terrible movers moving my inventory in, got stuff in the wrong rooms, had to move it to the correct room myself. DON'T USE, SHOWS UP AS PERMANENTLY CLOSED ON GOOGLE. THEY NEED TO STAY CLOSED, AS THIS IS THE WORST AND TRAUMATIZING MOVE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFETIME. Now it has been 9 days since our furniture was picked up and we have heard no word on when the furniture will be deliver. Mind you the increase in price was about 4,000 and this was after a supposed discount cause I complained at the time. But what do you do when the movers arrive you have already given a deposit and you are on a deadline. I wish these reviews were present when we booked them and moved. Not happy at all. Oh yes and when I complained about the price change the person was rude and kept over talking me. I will not need to make any more long distant moves any time soon or ever, so hopefully this review helps someone else make a better decision. I got an initial quote from Texas Mover group for around $1600 based on my inventory list that I had provided, however, they asked for pictures in order to give me a binding estimate. After I provided pictures, they jacked my rate up to nearly $2400 which was well above all the quotes I had gotten from both local and multinational moving companies. When i told my service rep, Bryan, that his rate was no longer competitive he became argumentative and incredibly unprofessional. He kept trying to discredit other moving companies i had gotten quotes from and repeatedly tried to threaten me against using a different company. He told me numerous times that my move would be terrible without Texas Movers and that other companies would also jack up my rates if i went elsewhere. You are really running a huge risk in getting your goods transported at the price you negotiated with their Brokers/salespeople. I wanted my remaining goods that I stored (temporarily) in my storage unit location in Irving, Texas, subsequently be transported to my Northern California (storage unit) at the price (contract) that was negotiated between the company's sales rep and myself (over the course of two weeks time period). This Sales rep called me almost everyday during a two week time period; guaranteeing me the contract cost and certain safety measures (for my motorcycle cruiser) that their shipping crew would perform on the day of shipping. I had booked flights to and from (Irving, TX to Northern California) so that I would be onsite at my storage unit when the move (day) was to take place. The supervisor (of moving team) raised the negotiated contract I had with the sales rep by 30%. so I said no way will I pay such an increase. I tried calling the sales rep four separate times while the movers were present. I was placed on Hold each time by staff, then it would go to voicemail after 15 seconds. Since I didn't agree with the mover Supervisor, they left me hanging and they (Texas Movers Group) kept my deposit of $411.00. Sadly enough, My trip (flights) cost me a $1000 plus dollars round trip (for nothung). My goods are still in my Irving, TX storage unit along with my motorcycle cruiser, never made it to Northern California like I planned. I am so disappointed and out of so much money! Texas movers group moving company is PHENOMENAL. There is simply no other word to describe this company. Initially I was using a different moving company, who were incredibly unprofessional and cancelled my move less than 24 hours from pick-up time. After frantically calling around, I came across this amazing company. They were so empathetic to my situation and emphasized that it was not professional of the company to do such a thing. They gave me a fair and accurate quote, and they picked up my things the next day. This company was literally my saving grace! The guys came and thoroughly secured all of my belongings and furniture. Once I arrived to my new destination, I gave them a call to get a status update on my belongings. The drivers called me several times with updates, specific time windows, and were so friendly. When they moved my belongings they have an incredibly organized manifest that ensures you receive all of your belongings. The movers were so friendly and made the entire process so enjoyable. None of my belongings were damaged, broken, or misplaced in the intense cross country drive. This family-owned company provides the absolute highest standard of care for moving.
