Signed up for the waitlist. Arrived on time. They ask for my name. Gave them my last name and they couldn't find me. So I showed them my email and they finally located me. When my name came up, about 10 minutes past the 10-20 estimate (not too bad), they took us to a long open table (seats 12) in the bar. There was an empty two-top booth right next to the table--better social distancing--so we asked to be seated there. They said they couldn't, they were going to seat someone else there. The booth next to it was vacant as well...just needed to be cleaned. So they took us back to the hostess stand where she proceeded to tell us we couldn't have the second booth because she had just seated someone in that waitress' section. She offered to put us at the bottom of the waitlist. We left and went to Wild Hare. Got seated. Had some great food and service. Tx Roadhouse is off our list. read more

Full disclosure: I have eaten at this chain dozens of times in other locations and consider it a consistent winner. However THIS location really failed us tonight. The service was pleasant and prompt. High marks there. But we both tried the Country Fried Sirloin Steak special. Wow - what a disaster it turned out to be. The first one was so over cooked that the meat inside had turned from gray to dark brown. That's WAY over cooked and inedible. So we complained and they brought out another WAY over cooked virtual copy of the first. How they could do such a poor job the second time around was truly puzzling. Who to blame? The cook and the kitchen manager and ultimately the owner operator. The waitress didn't even ask if the second replacement version was any better because she could tell by one look that it was cooked to a burnt crisp. Buyer beware when you order anything here. They clearly don't have the rigid adherence to making the customer happy when the food isn't right. Really surprised. Really disappointed. We won't return here. read more

The Texas Road House in Cedar Falls, Iowa has the greatest food and a professional staff that is very friendly and they make sure that all of their customers are satisfied from the time that they arrive until the customers leave their great restaurant. Franchise place, been in cedar falls for a while. It was Mother's Day so it was pretty busy but not crazy wait busy. We were immediately greeted and seated in the back corner. Got our order taken quickly, our bread, and drinks, then our server disappeared. Didn't get anymore drinks or bread. Someone else ran our food and forgot one of our items. Overall the good was pretty good, I'm always happy with a sweet potato and I ordered bbq chicken. Kinda regretted after I ordered but I'll eat again some other day. the family got pulled pork which she said was ok country fried chicken which is was pretty decent. Nothing outstanding. Our server was so rude, as we asked for another shot, she would roll her eyes. We traveled from Mason City because our Daughter Bella wanted to eat at her favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse. She turns 12!!! I had called ahead to let them know there would be 7 of us and we pulled into parking lot and was able to be seated right as we arrived! Our servers name was Ashley, she was honestly the best server we've had in a long time! Very persistent, smiley, kind, and like clockwork had re-fills, checking on our table, and all around service was AhhhhMazzzing!!! They shouted out a happy birthday with the saddle and everything for Bella, even let our 3 year old, Zepp hop on for a ride. 10/10 recommend and definitely will be back! Great job Ashley!!! Food better than average, wait staff is friendly and attentive, sometimes overly so. Frequently a long waiting line which is a good sign of its popularity, but you may have to wait a bit to get in. Seating at bar is usually available if crunched for time. Consistent good food and good service. Seems to be very popular with the locals and good college crowd here as well. I am business man from out of town and this restaurant has been my favorite of the 20 or restaurants that I have eaten at in Cedar Falls and Waterloo. this TR is consistent with my TR experiences elsewhere. Once again bad attitude! UNI wait staff & teenagers running the reception isn't cute if they are silly & uneducated. I mean really poor attitude & work ethics! A lot of the male wait staff appear stoned. Is some one dealing there? Who knows! Next time you go in notice it. This is the best steak location if you consider both quantity and price. You get a solid meal for a good rate. Additionally, they always serve warm cinnamon rolls as an appetizer beforehand. It can get pretty rowdy and congested depending on when you go, so calling ahead for a reservation is smart. In terms of quality, it may not be an Omaha steak or quite as good as some of the steaks at some of the nicer restaurants, but it is definitely worth the price you pay. read more

I've been to this establishment a plethora of times in my years of existing on this earth. For my 9th birthday I chose this place for my special birthday dinner. I was forced on a saddle where the staff and strangers yelled YEEEHAAWWW really loud. It was mortifying. I am 16 now and looking back I ask my 9 year old self "Why, Olivia, why? Out of all the restaurants you could choose for your birthday dinner, why Texas Roadhouse?" After doing some in depth thinking I realized why. 3 words. Bread and butter. Everyone loves Texas Roadhouse rolls. They are free with your visit and their special butter is amazing. As a 9 year old I was fascinated by the concept. I didn't care what I got to eat, I just wanted the bread and butter. Now that I'm a somewhat young adult, I really don't understand the appeal of this place. It's dark and very loud with country music blaring and people having really loud conversations and I swear every time I've been there a plate or glass falls on the ground and breaks, causing more of a ruckus. The food is mediocre. Over half there menu is fried food and it all tastes the same. A whole lot of breading and very salty. I don't know why I'm giving this place 3 stars. I guess because it's not horrible and the rest of my family enjoys this place. Gotta say Texas Roadhouse has the best rolls and butter though. read more

I'm upping my rating from a three to a four. My most recent visit was great. We got our food quickly and it was wonderful. My husband said his ribeye was the best he ever had there. I got the pulled BBQ pork and it was great. I just wish they had offered more rolls. I feel like they don't really want you to have more. Ours were gone before the meal was there. read more

Absolutely the best steak I've had anywhere. A 6 ounce sirloin and two sides for only $10. Guys! It's great. You are guaranteed to love the free rolls and butter. Finish your basket and more will be on the way. I highly recommend the chilli, even if it's hot outside. read more

We just finished eating at this restaurant. I ordered the 20oz. Ribeye and the person with me ordered the16oz. Ribeye. The server repeated our order back to us correctly. She put our order in and when it was brought to the table the smaller Ribeye was correct but the20oz. was served and it was a prime rib. There isn't even a 20oz prime rib on the menu. They took the prime rib back and said they would get it fixed. Nearly 20 minutes later, after the person with me was finished they finally brought my steak out. It was served by the manager, so he knew about the issue. He said he would be back in a few minutes to check on me but never came back. They were not concerned about the fact that the other person with me was already finished eating. There was no apology or offer to discount the meal or anything. I got the bill and they did nothing to fix their error. The server was acting as though she didn't want to be there and she didn't even bring the to go containers we asked for. I've never had this poor of treatment at a Texas Roadhouse in other places. Very poor management and service. September, 2017 So, we were back in Iowa and decided to give Texas Roadhouse another try. Unfortunately, I'm unable to change my rating. The service was very slow. The server acted like she hated her job and didn't want to be there and as if the customer was annoying her if they asked for anything. The appetizer came to the table before our drinks or ordering our food. The salads came to us totally wrong. Since the server was demonstrating with surrounding customers that she was annoyed we just ate them the way they came. Then we asked a different server for some more bread, or server dropped a basket on our table and they were right out of the oven but not finished baking. Again we didn't say anything and just ate them anyway. The I think our server fell into a black hole because we never saw her again until we were walking out the door and she said hope everything was ok. This is one of our families favorite places to go. The kids love the chicken critters, everyone loves the rolls and cinnamon butter. I love the cat fish, very crispy with a unique breading. For some reason I think their water is delicious, they must use a filter. My only complaint is that the green beans have sugar in them. You get free peanuts too! Place is typical steakhouse fare with an overabundance of loud, fat people consuming way too much butter and girth-enhancing sides and desserts. That said, I like the skinny TVs on the wall and the coasters & forks were clean. The plating was messy but the New York Strip was delicious with mushrooms on top ( for a nominal fee). While I enjoyed the steak, I did feel a bit odd as I looked across to the bar and saw a stoner, kitchen staff I presumed, watching me eat my meat. Creepy factor was elevated. Customer service is really rude. There policy is that all guest must be present at the restaurant but when a mother needs to pump her milk they refused to give us a table. Called ahead and had to wait 10 minutes once we got there at 6:30 on a Friday night. First time at Texas Roadhouse, so we got a free appetizer, to go along with all the bread we could have wanted, and the peanuts. By the time my Prime Rib came, I was nearly full. Next time, I would buy a small but flavorful steak to go with all the other fix ins. Brought home the baked potato and half my fries along with bread and peanuts. Staff was great, and when we said it was our first time, we spoke with the manager who gave us peanuts to go and a free appetizer, and our waiter gave us another basket of bread. I have eaten here quite a few times most of the time have a good experience with good food and good service. Wait is always long even with the call and head seating so when I've went just made sure no solid plans after. I haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse for a couple of years. This visit was for a relative's birthday, on a Friday night in early October. The service was good and attentive. All the employees were friendly and paying attention. The unlimited rolls tasted great, and the blooming onion was delicious, but sadly my and my wife's entrees were disappointing. I ordered the steak tips with rice. While the rice tasted good, the food was not hot, and the meat was tough. My wife ordered the steak kabobs. Her vegetables were cold, and the sauce coating them was overly coated by vinegar. None of our party expressed "wow, that food was great." Basically, the food was not impressive. The staff sang happy birthday to someone right behind us, but did not do the same for my mother-in-law, even though they had been told it was her birthday, a couple of times. Additionally, the place in general is very loud. At one point the music playing was excessively loud, but thankfully was then turned down. The restaurant was very busy, so their customers seem to like the restaurant. For me, I did not have a good experience, so I will not return (unless forced to by a family event). read more
