My wife and I dined here tonight to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated right away with no reservations. The wait staff was very attentive. Initially, we ordered an unsweetened iced tea and a Diet Coke, and one of their cactus blossom onion appetizers (which I had a free coupon for). The cactus blossom onion was similar to the blooming onion that is offered at Outback steakhouses but I think it was actually much better than the one at Outback. To say that it was absolutely delicious as an understatement. My wife ordered the 12 ounce prime rib medium rare and I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye medium rare with shrimp skewers combo. Both were cooked perfectly medium rare. A house salad, a Caesar salad, and steak fries are included with our orders. We can rate the house salad "five" and the Caesar salad "four" (it was not quite as flavorful as I'm used to. The steak fries were not "crusty"enough for me, but still were tasty. Also served with the meal were some extremely delicious warm rolls with sweetened whipped butter. Everything was served very promptly and the waiter checked with us many times. The weight staff also helped us with checkout which is done with a small computer screen payment kiosk on every table. The restrooms were clean and spacious. The bill for everything was a little over $70 but I had a coupon for a free appetizer and a $30 gift card so my final bill was only $49 including tip. 12/31/25: First time at this Texas Roadhouse. We were greeted when we entered and seated not a minute later by our pleasant hosts at our Comfortable booth within the bar area. We noticed the nice Christmas decorations everywhere. Our server, Trent, was nice and got our food order correct, but it seemed he mixed our table number up with our neighbor's as our meals were brought to them first, taken back to the kitchen, then brought out to us after a kitchen staff came to ask what we had ordered. Then my husband's tea was brought to them and the same thing happened with that. When we got our check originally, it had the neighbor's $12 drink on it. Granted it was a busy night, but I shudder to think how many people were around our prepared food before it finally got to its correct destination. My 6oz sirloin was ordered medium, but it arrived medium well. But I accepted it as it didn't look too bad. It, in fact, was delicious- though a little tough on the edge. My sweet potato, grilled shrimp and green beans were yummy. My husband's double cheeseburger was humongous. No way someone can eat that regularly. He had ordered it cooked "no pink" but it arrived "burnt to a crisp". He mashed it up and mixed tons of ketchup in but could still only taste burnt meat. Way too overcooked. His broccoli was overcooked (mushy.) The complimentary rolls in the beginning of our visit were delicious. The music was on way too loud. We couldn't have a conversation without constantly saying "what?!" and having to repeat ourselves. We eventually just gave up and did stuff on our individual cellphones until our meals arrived. The bathrooms needed attending to (the women's smelled of cigarette smoke as well.) This was a disappointing trip. We're hoping if we come back (maybe not during the holidays) it will be better. read more

Solid food. Dining inside a rock concert at an airport terminal. The food at Texas Roadhouse is solid. Not five-star, not "best steak of your life," but reliably good for the price. The steaks are consistent, the rolls are tasty, and you generally leave satisfied on the food front. The environment, however, is a whole different experience. The music is cranked up to rock-concert levels, and when you combine that with the natural noise of a packed restaurant, it feels like eating dinner inside a busy airport terminal during a live band performance. Trying to have a family conversation turns into shouting across the table like you're announcing a delayed flight. No one is asking for library-quiet or white-tablecloth vibes. Even backing the volume off a little would make this a far more enjoyable place to eat. As it stands, the atmosphere almost cancels out the food. Decor is cool and ambiance is a bit loud but still cool joint to hang a bit . Sure the steaks are good seems alot of them a flying past me. . The young man who greets me at the door asked me to pick out my steak? I wasn't in the mood for a big hunk of meat so I chose a medium size cut. He then takes a ticket and lays it on the steak. I call dibs on that steak! Once seated, I need a drink. Texas Roadhouse is serious about their margaritas. For an up charge, you can also get an extra shot?? Shoot me son! My steak comes with two sides, I chose a side salad and a baked sweet potato. I'm asked top the sweet potato with marshmallows? Oh yeah.. The steak comes out and it is cooked "perfectly". And the best part? There are two steak sauces on the table. Listen, if your the type to look down on steak sauce and say a good steak doesn't need sauce, then you do you. Me? Went to this establishment for the first time tonight. my son and I wanted to have a good time a nice dinner and watch the world series. The food and drinks were excellent all was well until I tried to order dessert and was told the kitchen was closed.Tried to order a drink and was told they closed at 11.00. We had to leave before the game was over. All would be fine if they called last call for food and alcohol,but they didnt. So after we spent 150.00 dollars we couldn't see the end of the game. If I had been told they would be closing soon I could of made arrangements to go some place else before having to leave before game was over.Shame on the bartender for not being upfront. We don't have a lot of Texas Road house in the NE so when we travel it's a must stop. This location was excellent!! The servers are so friendly and seem to love their jobs. My wife had received a gift card for TX Roadhouse so when we found ourselves near one around a meal time we decided we'd use it. We ordered two appetizers and my wife got a cocktail. It was the standard lime margarita and she really liked it and it was very reasonably priced. The combo appetizer was a hit with both of us. Their take on the deep fried onion was not pulled off well. There is probably a reason that the one at Outback is very well known. This one just didn't stand up to it. it has been a few since eating at T.R. Today, 2/18/2024 My Mom and I went for lunch at TR in Chambersburg. We got there around 12:30- the line was long and but the wait for the table wasnt bad. Our As many people as there were, the atmosphere was nice, not overwhelmingly noisy. It was very clean. Our waitress Clara was very sweet, we asked for recommendations, she was not pushy and came back a few times to check on us. Worst location ever experienced and very familiar with TRH. Ordered: Half Rack, Baked Potato & Vegetable. Ribs were dry so had to cut the meat off the bone and it lacked any flavour, the potato was also overcooked/dry. Meal came out extremely fast, based on guest numbers, so they clearly pre-pre-cook everything to turn the table. Was even pushed to pay before being finished, based on an excuse of helping to explain their (impersonal) pay-at-the-table machine. Once said, I'll take care of it the server was never seen again. This location has a vibe of Sit... Eat... Pay... GET OUT! Find somewhere else, literally anywhere else than this below standard TRH location. read more

The food was great, the server, Sierra, was very attentive. Service was quick after being seated. Checking in was different, had to check in outside, given a ticket, then seated. It's been a couple years since we have been to a Texas Roadhouse, so this is probably due to the virus. Anyway, once inside and seated, everything went great. Petite fillet, salad and 11 oz sirloin, Caesar salad with steak fries. Both grill to medium rare as ordered. Food came quick. This restaurant operated very efficiently, I watched as people in charged watched the servers carefully helping and correcting if need be. Sierra was great and after learning of my hearing loss, went out of her way to make eye contact with me and enunciated her words. This means a lot to a person with hearing loss. I'm so middle of the road on this place in comparison to the double digit amount of visits I've made to other Texas Roadhouse locations around the country so I'll cut to the chase. - Atmosphere - extremely crowded and extremely noisy. - Service - very young staff, lots of training going on, inattentive. - Management - non existence during our visit What stood out: - Entertainment - it seemed almost every table had someone who was celebrating a birthday, a anniversary or some other occasion and the staff was determined to acknowledge each event like was a national holiday. This crew screamed out rehearsed arrangements like a group of elementary school kids at recess not only was it annoying it was a huge distraction. - Accuracy of Orders - there were 8 of us and this seemed to be a problem I've never witnessed so many apologies I really felt our request to get our food distributed correctly was a big distraction and frustrating to the servers. MAN vs. MACHINE My wife and I have been eating at Texas Roadhouse for many years now. When we go to Texas Roadhouse, we always go to the Chambersburg location. We have noticed a decline in the service over the last few years. What happened on Monday Aug. 8, 2022 has tainted me from ever returning. We were seated and we gave our drink orders. I observed on the table that they now are utilizing the Ziosks (Red Robin and Olive Garden use these devices). I absolutely despise these devices. The food was delicious, but our server completely sucked. She had only three tables, and she couldn't even manage to service those adequately. When it came time to pay the bill, which was $38.84, we had to scan our card for a free appetizer. That was quite a challenge trying to get the barcode aligned just right so that the Ziosk would be able to read it. After about two minutes... success. We also had a $25.00 gift card to use. This is the part when I began to get angry. For over eight minutes my wife and I attempted to scan our gift card we also entered the number of our gift card, you name it, we tried it. As we were doing this, it would show the total, and then it asked about a tip amount. For a tip, I prefer to hand the server cash instead of adding it to the card. The Ziosk automatically (by default) had selected $7.64 for the tip. I selected custom, and entered $0.00 for the tip. I attempted to proceed and an error message displayed which informed me to try again in a few moments. I did this three times. After the third time the tip was automatically selected as $7.64. My wife and I were furious. The server truly didn't even deserve a tip. I asked another server since our server is nowhere to be found if she would be able to fix this. She looked at it for a few seconds and then explained that "we just got these in last tuesday," she wasn't really sure how to fix the problem, so she left to get someone. Our server returned and when we stated the problem to her, she stated that she was going to go get her manager. About three minutes pass, our server returns without a manager. Our server mentioned two options that could be done. Option 1: the whole payment could be cleared out and started over, or, Option 2: we just let it as is. I was so enraged and irritated at this point that I got up to look for a manager to confront. My wife used our credit card to finish paying the remaining balance. I walked into the kitchen entrance where two managers were standing, and I stated that I hated these Ziosks, and I also stated that as long as they have these I will never return!! Neither manager said a word, terrible management, and awful customer service. I realized that the Ziosks are being utilized to benefit the servers by entering the suggested tip. They are not designed to benefit the customer. I'm glad I'm not returning to Texas Roadhouse, way too noisy, crappy management, awful servers, technology that is designed to fleece the customer, and lacking in customer service. read more

Five of us ate there on Saturday evening, May 6. Being mothers day weekend and area graduations, we expected slower service. Our server was working her butt off but one dinner was brought out about 5 minutes before all others. And while I know you shouldn't typically order shrimp at a steakhouse me and one other did. Shrimp was dry, but both of us got real sick by the time we got back across the parking lot to the hotel. It's been awhile since our last bad experience. Yet still, the restaurant is freezing! 66 degrees on my phone under a fan going at high speed! Food is mediocre at best, drinks are good. I ordered the smothered chicken with the gravy- baked potato and broccoli. I got the smothered steak with melted cheese. Steak was pink in the middle so I threw most of it out. We called in our order to have it ready at 7:15 however there was an accident on the highway in West Virginia and we were at least 45 minutes from picking up our food. I called ahead they put it on the warmer for us. And when I picked it up close to 8:00 it was perfectly warm cooked perfectly everything was delicious the staff was super friendly and helpful. Cannot say enough about this Roadhouse on Walker road in Chambersburg pennsylvania. We love road houses in general we have one in Scarborough Maine that we frequent. I've been to Texas Roadhouse (including this location) several times and have always loved it. However, this time was different. First, the table was filthy when we were seated. A child's booster seat and several pieces of silverware were left under the table, a straw paper was on the table and the table had food stuck to it. Secondly, the was what appeared to be blood on my salad plate. This was by far the biggest issue as this can be a major health issue. It was underneath the salad so I did not see it until after I had already eaten some of the salad. Both the waitress or manager understood how serious this can be and seemed inconvenienced when we brought it up to them. In the end they did not offer any compensation until we asked, which was only $5 off. Lastly, the steak was very overcooked. I ordered it medium and it was much closer to well done, not pink at all. This was not the experience I have come to expect from Texas Roadhouse. It's one of my favorite places to go but I have to admit that this experience doesn't exactly have me in a hurry to go back anytime soon. read more
