Tips: - If you are new to Texas Roadhouse, you get the ultimate treatment. You get to sample any three sides for free! - If you buy a gift card, it never expires. - Service was stellar. If I could give a million stars to an eatery on Yelp, it would be this one. A couple of Fridays ago, I had a long travel day. Since airfare between Toronto and Minneapolis was still highway robbery during a seat sale, I chose the cheaper option of flying between Toronto and Winnipeg, and doing a road trip between Winnipeg and Minneapolis. Cheaper. I also like to drive. My day started at 4:40 am Eastern. I got to Winnipeg just before 10 am. I was ready for food by the time I got to Grand Forks, which is almost the midpoint between Winnipeg and Minneapolis. Friends have told me to go visit Texas Roadhouse. What did it for me was seeing my Yelp friend, Guy, take a photo of a beautifully cooked sirloin steak. I wanted it. Badly. I've done this route between Winnipeg and Rochester, MN countless times. However, I was a bit rusty with a rest stop just north of Grand Forks. I forgot that it's shared with northbound and southbound traffic, so I needed to turn left to access it instead of right. I didn't bother slamming on the brakes and going into a tailspin. It was cold and the ramp was icy. My bladder needed attention by the time I got to his eatery. I backed into a snow-covered, frozen parking spot and walked in. I got a woman at the front. She asked me if I was okay with bar seating. I said that I was if this eatery was full. It wasn't at roughly 2 pm on a Friday. I asked for a booth instead. I got a man taking me to the booth. We passed by a display of raw steaks. "Did you want to pick out your steak?" he asked me. "I'd need to see a menu. It's my first time here," I replied. I saw the washrooms after I asked him where they were. He asked me if I wanted peanuts. I said yes. I basically took off my jacket and attended to my bladder. The women's washroom was clean. I used it again just before I hit the road. The booth that I was in was comfy. I got a bag of peanuts with the shells on. I had one bag during my stay in Minneapolis. Delicious! I got rolls to start. Each roll was fluffy and warm, slightly sweet, with butter brushed on top. They come with cinnamon honey butter, which was to-die-for delectable. Savanna was my server.Communication between staffers was incredible. She found out that I was a newbie. She said that I could sample three sides for free. Wow! I tried the following samplers: - Texas red chili - Green beans - Mushrooms Excellent! The chili was flavourful and had ground beef. The green beans were perfectly done with bacon. The mushrooms were hearty and yummy. The sampler was brought out by the Mia, the marketing manager. I got an offer for a free side dish the next time. She was friendly. I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. They likely don't get too many travellers these days, especially from Canada. I order the following for my meal: - 8-ounce sirloin with garlic shrimp, garlic bread, corn, and apple sauce - Diet Coke I got my Diet Coke with my peanuts and rolls. It was fizzy and cold. I got refills often. My meal came with two sides. I loved the corn and apple sauce. The former had butter. The latter was my dessert because my meal was exceptionally filling! My main had arrived. I got the sirloin steak medium. It was flavourful and perfectly done. My mouth is watering as I long for another sirloin from this place. Savanna got me sauteed onions on the side. They were excellent with the steak and were complimentary. The garlic bread under everything was a surprise hit. They were garlicky and buttery. I still think about it. There was a gift card promotion. If I bought a $30 gift card, I got $5 for free. Gift cards don't expire and can be used at any Texas Roadhouse. I said yes. I settled the bill at the table. There was a payment system that worked efficiently. I tapped and was done. My server took service to a whole new level. She asked me where I was coming from. I told her my story. She was so thrilled to have me. She asked if she could send me off with a fresh order of rolls. OMG! I felt like I got the VIP treatment. It was so kind. I got four rolls with a side of cinnamon honey butter in a box, all packed up for me. She also threw in another bag of peanuts. I had them for breakfast. They were so perfect warmed up. I slathered the cinnamon honey butter like the world was going to end. Fabulous! For someone who just wanted to rest her eyes from staring at flat land for hours and get some grub, this place made me feel special. I don't know if they do that for tourists like this Canadian or it's the usual treatment. I loved it. Thanks to everyone for making my first Texas Roadhouse experience a special and wonderful one. When I'm doing this run again, I'll definitely return for more good eats. (487)

Compared to other chain restaurants the food is consistently good. We waited a little longer to be seated. Once at our table all went smoothly. Our server Navie was all smiles and even though it was busy she made sure to check on us. I had the barbecue chicken and 6oz steak. The chicken was a breast piece with barbecue sauce on it, tasted fine.I Love their pillow soft biscuits which are now in the freezer section at local supermarkets. My husband had the meat kabob and that was also good. You can't go wrong with any side. The ambiance is always lively since it's always busy. I recommend it for a fun time out.

    Proof, my reservation was ready

Had a reservation for a table for one I was told my table was ready. I get to the restaurant and was told they can't see me because they don't have a busser to clear my table so I can sit down so how are the other tables being sat terrible service, terrible management no apology no nothing

+.5 for service Shockingly my first time at Texas Roadhouse despite my frequent trips to the US. I took a trip to Grand Forks recently with a friend, and he suggested here as the food has excellent value. I should start by saying that service was amazing here, the workers here seemed to really like the place and you can tell they're treated very well. I ordered a cactus blossom and a medium rare hand cut sirloin. The cactus blossom is well known at Texas Roadhouse, and comes with a chipotle sauce that tasted really good. The sirloin steak was grilled perfectly, and the price was absolutely fair for the quality I got. It certainly wasn't the best steak I've ever ate, but it's definitely up there for best value steak. Will definitely recommend Texas Roadhouse for those road trips where there are few other options!

Service is phenomenal! I love the bread and cinnamon butter. It was warm And freshly out from the oven. I ordered Pork Ribs with Sweet Potato, Blossom. Not a big fan of both. Ambiance is all-American!

On our first night of vacation, we were lucky enough to stay within walking distance to this restaurant. We don't have one near where we live. The Grand Forks location is really clean with friendly staff. We were seated promptly. Our server, Lydia, was really sweet and helpful. Our food came out in a reasonable time and was delicious. My husband had the Roadkill and loved it. I went with the Chicken Critters and enjoyed them as well. Really crispy. We are staying at the same hotel when we head back home after our round trip through North Dakota. Maybe we will stop back in!

Our server made our experience more special. We are very happy because she made our day!

We loved the food, the food was delicious. The service was excellent! The restaurant itself gave us a cozy comfortable feeling.

Had the blooming onion, a chicken tender salad, but the best part by far was their complimentary bread. It's slightly sweet, but no overbearing. So warm and fluffy. Will definitely go back there again when we shop in Grand Forks.

We got a booth inside since it was too hot to dine on their veranda. Our waitress was prompt with our orders and my huckleberry mule came out in a reasonable amount of time. The drink itself was OK. It's fruitiness was a bit odd but at $8 it was a good deal. I ordered the boneless wings with the sweet chili sauce. They were quite good. My wife took advantage of their Monday night $5 off all burgers special and got their specialty burger with bacon, peanut butter and a fried egg on it. Sound gross but she liked it though it was a bit overdone at pink since they wouldn't do medium rare. Prices were reasonable though they have a credit card surcharge. The big complaint was how long we had to wait for our food to arrive even though by the time we ordered the crowds had dissipated. It was a looooong time.

When I buy a $26 dollar plate of cream sauce fettuccine with sausage and shrimp it better knock my socks off. Theirs completely didn't. It was bland and I expected it to be worth the nearly $30 in spending on a plate of easy to make pasta. The desserts were also forgettable and skimpy. Took them a while to clean it to be quite honest. I just didn't feel like they were doing a good job of busing and cleaning tables when people were emptying. Our table had been bussed but not cleaned and I know it had been sitting there for at least five minutes cause I watched it. Once we got seated, again felt the service was pretty slow. Took a long time for the guy to take our drink order and he walked by the table multiple times. Then when he finally did take the drug order, took a really long time to get drinks. In general, our server was just not very efficient. This occurred throughout the entire meal and often had to ask for things multiple times. For example, when I wanted to get another beer, it took almost 10 minutes. In that time he came to the table twice and on the third time, I finally said, did you get that beer for me and he had totally forgotten evidently. That was a fourth time he had forgotten something that was ordered. When we did actually get food and drinks, the food itself was very very good. The walleye cakes were excellent. My pasta was well cooked and had great flavor. The carrot cake martini was very interesting but definitely tasted like a carrot cake. I think they just need to work on their service, a lot. The quality of the food and the quality of the restaurant deserves much better servers.

Then it got worse. Kitchen was very slow. I had the Reuben. It came out alomost cold, slightly warm. Sigh. Hot foods should be presented hot. Worse yet it wasn't really a Reuben. A very small amount of corned beef mixed into a cheese spread with a tiny amount of sauerkraut. The bread had been grilled though. Not an $18 sandwich. Making a Reuben is not difficult- use plenty of corned beef - should be at least an inch thick. Next level would be to make the corned beef in house. It's not that hard. Use snappy, crunchy sauerkraut. Next level - make it in house. They are already making other pickled things - add sauerkraut. Use real Swiss cheese. As stated the bread was ok but a marbled rye would be better. Serve it hot. Go for it here - have the best Reuben in Grand Forks!!!! I expect this review to fall on deaf ears. At the end of the day I paid $150 (including tip) for a pretty disappointing experience (except for the olives) and cold food. I hope they can pull it together.

Then we looked more carefully at the reviews and noticed that many of the recent reviews in the last year were quite negative especially regarding their service. We had second thoughts but since we wanted Detroit style pizza we forged ahead. We were able to get a booth in the bar instead of getting shuttled to the upstairs (it was raining so their roof deck wasn't an option). Our server was prompt and since we knew this type of pizza can take awhile to bake we ordered right away. We got the Barry with two types of pepparoni and hot honey. After the server took our pizza and drink order (happy hour beer prices $2 off) we decided to get a caeser salad. At first she balked since the pizza order was already in there was no guarantee it would come out before the pizza - hmmm an example of the service issues others wrote about? But minutes later she told us she expedited the salad and sure enough it was out in 5 minutes well ahead of the pizza which only took slightly more than 20 minutes which is fast for Detroit style pizza. The pizza was very good. Though some complain that the edges are burnt this is the cheese. It doesn't taste burnt it tastes great. This is Detroit style pizza done right.
