Let's start out with I really like this place. The service is superior to most of the other places I have been to in town. Our server, Brett went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He offered a lot of suggestions and when we had a problem with the Coca Cola ribs being incredibly tough and over cooked, he didn't miss a beat offering to get me something else. The Coca Cola ribs could not even be cut with a steak knife. Not exactly falling off the bone. I decided to take home the Pork Chop Marsala with the Au gratin potatoes. My Mom really enjoyed the Asian Wings and Drums off the Happy Hour Menu. We also got the Pretzel too. My Brother thought his Cheeseburger was just okay and it didn't have much flavor. Been to Grillsmith a handful of times and can't believe I hadn't reviewed yet! I've always had good experiences coming here. I saw someone say Grillsmith is like an elevated Applebees and I feel that that's a pretty good description- but it's still way, way better than that. It's definitely like American-style food with some German inspirations but still unique in its own way. Usually I enjoy any kind of seafood here, but the pasta options are good too. If you like pretzels try out the bavarian pretty appetizer, which is great for sharing. Sometimes the service can be hit or miss here which would probably be my only complaint. Grillsmith can be a great place to come for a work lunch or just a fun dinner. You can just walk in but I'd check about a reservation as it can get pretty busy especially in the evenings. It's also in a great location at Lakeside Village so you can walk around before or after the meal to ship, get dessert or just hang out. read more

10 out of freaking 10. We visited the "Countryside" location in Clearwater today to celebrate Father's Day. We enjoyed every single thing that touched our table including our server Brooke. It was a perfect dining experience. The restaurant is casual with a moderate noise level. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And most most importantly, the food is amazing. Delicious and festive. I've been twice and both times were good, the first time was for brunch and I had the waffle Benedict. I was disappointed. The waffle was so huge but the Benedict was so small. I then went for happy hour and that was good. I had the spicy Thai shrimp, not spicy enough, and wings & drums. They had an amazing flavor and were super hot off the cooker. Our family took us here this past Monday for dinner and we had a magnificent time. Our Server was an extremely pleasant gentleman delivering tip top customer service. I had the Coca-Cola Baby Back Ribs with spinach and seasonal veggie(broccoli) as the sides. As you can see I thoroughly enjoyed it. Filet being cooked properly is hit or miss, but it has AMAZING flavor! ALWAYS disappointed with the veggies as EVERY-TIME we go if the house veggie is something other than green beans they run out by 6pm. EVERY-TIME they have to come back to the table and tell me sorry house veggies are out would you like green beans and I have to sadly decline as I can't eat them. I ended up doing reservations in advance because I've heard this place sometimes has a long wait time. Our waitress was such a pleasure and explained everything and what dishes are popular ... Always a full house here from what I saw . Love the woodsy decoration Everyone at the table loved their dishes all were very tasty and none of them were bad at all. The drinks were a hit also. All the steaks were for sure a stand out . The bisque could have used a bit more help when it comes to density and flavor. Burgers were for sure a great choice. So I was in town for some training and decide to try this place based on reviews. It was easy to find in a plaza and of course had plenty of parking. The decor was warm & wood, I thought it looked very nice. I grabbed a high top at the bar and the service friendly. I wanted some steak and to eat a little bit lighter so I ordered the steakhouse wedge salad. It came out fast and looked great! I was sad to find the steak was over cooked. I ordered it medium but it finished as well. Of course with a wedge I'd expect to cut up the lettuce but on this one I also had to cut the tomatoes and bacon too. I would of preferred if those two were done for me. The dressing it came with was a ranch blue cheese which was so delicious. All together, I really enjoyed it and it had a really good flvaor. Even with the steak being over cooked, which I did expect better. I wpuld give them another shot and see if the cook was just having an off night. I even considered coming back another night for a different steak, but didn't. If you're in the area and were considering trying them, I'd say swing by and do it. read more

Reservations are recommended F-Sun. Parking can be challenging but the trick is to target the outlier lot by the two hotels and have a nice walk to the building. Last visit: Coca-Cola Ribs were dry and didn't fall off the bone. So thank goodness for the sauce but I ran out since the container was small. Green beans were firm, maybe a bit too much but better than the ribs. Side salad was perfect and adds an extra $2 charge if selected as one of your sides. A good choice is the sea bass. Price is fair. Sauce is good. Salmon is also good. Both are recommended for the seafood lover. Service was great by Brett, who has been at this location for many years. He was the highlight of the visit. Ambiance is nice, as is the case at most Grillsmiths, but we were placed at the table nearest the bathrooms so there was a lot of foot traffic. read more

Outstanding. We met for brunch for my daughters birthday and we made a good decision. Our food was delicious, the server was kind and efficient. Between the family we ordered two appetizers, fish tacos , salmon , margarita flatbread and the bang bang shrimp were poppin . To finish it off her birthday desert was bananas foster, omg to die for. If you want a steak don't come here. I ordered an aged ribeye supposedly 16oz but seemed to be more like 10oz and very thin. I also ordered it medium and this was more like well-done. Been here multiple times and each time been disappointed. Most recently was there with a larger group for a holiday celebration. We found the reservation and ahead of time and told them how many so that they would be prepared for us. We got there they didn't have enough seating so some of our party had to sit in a booth that wasn't at the main table and they weren't included. The service was very slow. Understandably we were a large party but they still didn't have enough servers to cover the party because we had to wait a very long time to have our orders taken and waited even longer to get our food. Once we FINALLY got our food there were multiple people that did not like their food because it came out cold, or it was prepared wrong. The fries were unbelievably cold and tasted like rubber. The burgers were ice cold, and the burgers werent better than a fast food burger. Food was awful and the servers tried but it took so long to order and get our food. They were closed before we were able to finish and we got there 1.5 hours BEFORE they closed. So we shouldnt have had to race to eat because they were closed. I told them to take my food off because I wasn't eating cold nasty food and the kitchen was closed because of how long it took. So they took the charge off, which the charged me the wrong price to begin with, but because we were a party over 6 they charged me a service fee to sit there and not eat. I literally had to pay a fee even though I wasn't able to eat anything and didn't get any food. I also can't believe that they serve $18 cheeseburgers on a cutting board! You can see where people have cut into the boards and germs can live for a very LONG time on surfaces. Not to mention you can't really clean or sterilize a wooden cutting board. Especially since it's passed around with who knows how many people have eaten off of them. Why would you serve an $18+ burger on an old beaten up wooden cutting board!!! This was the second time we've gone and both times the food was awful. I wouldn't recommend this place, EVER! read more

We dined here for the first time in several years today and now we are wondering why we haven't been back sooner. The overall dining experience and food were outstanding. The filet was definitely a stand out item though. It was tied for the best filet I've ever eaten and I've eaten many. The flavor was amazing and was literally fork tender.
