We were in the mood for some burgers and decided to checkout Texas Roadhouse due to its proximity to all the shopping nearby. Inside was huge and pretty busy due to the holidays. The staff quickly found us a seat. I tried the smokehouse burger that comes with BBQ sauce, sautéed mushrooms, onions, melted American, and Jack cheeses, served with standard fixings (lettuce, tomato, pickles) on a toasted Texas bun. It also came with steak fries on the side. The burger was cooked just how I like it and the mushrooms with sautéed onions went really well together. It is easily big enough to share. I don't know what's worse: the kitchen's inability to cook a piece of chicken or the smug attitude of the staff. Duncan the bartender is a pro at the "ignore game." After serving me a plate of chicken that was a total health hazard, he offered zero help and basically told me to deal with it because "that's how it's made." No apology, no offer to fix it, just total silence. If you possible health hazard rubber chicken come here and eat. I tried so hard to eat it in tiny pieces. read more

It's a chain...I know, but it's so reliable! I can show up to any Texas Roadhouse across the US and know exactly what to order and what to expect. This brew location looks like any other Texas Roadhouse! Plenty of parking all around and across the way in the Walmart parking lot. Staff are great. Super attentive. Rolls are piping hot and fresh. Cinnamon butter is a must but you can also request regular butter! I always get the Ft. Worth Ribye with the Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. This time I got the chili and it was not hot but barely warm. Oh well. It was still delicious though. Steak was cooked perfectly! This location, albeit newer, is super clean in my opinion. I have always like Texas Roadhouse and we were seated immediately on a Sat lunch which was rare. Aly was our waitstaff and she provided superb service. She was also the bartender as she was making tons of drinks where all those TVs are located. Got the ribs with steak fries. Meat fell off the bones and steak fries were well-seasoned. Had my usual prime rib (medium rare) and hubby had the ribeye with bones (medium rare). Both came out closer to medium but it was alright. Those dinner rolls with cinnamon butter are excellent. We ate the entire basket of bread. The sides (green bean, buttered corn, broccoli/carrots, cup of chili) were ok except the buttered corn as they were quite tough. Will definitely go back for the dinner rolls and whipped butter. read more

After waiting about 15 minutes just to be seated, no one came by to take our drink order. We eventually had to flag someone down to even get started. When we did order, they never brought my husband's chili, which he was supposed to have while we waited for the rest of the food. We went to TX Roadhouse tonight for our 50th wedding anniversary. Underneath the table should have been swept before we sat down. The evening started out nice but music came on so loud I could not even shout across the table to be heard!! IT WAS WAY TOO LOUD! I guarantee you that was noise pollution plus. Twice this evening when the music came on, the first song was this loud twice. HORRIBLE!!! We won't come back. It spoiled our whole evening that I was looking forward to for a week. Very sad. I complained to Mgr. and she said that is so they could dance. Can't you dance a little softer??? It was so loud, it made me want to cry. The Waitress Mikayla was training a new person named Kyra. They were both very nice and very helpful. Prime rib was very good, baked potato was nicely done (not hard when served). Husband enjoyed strip steak. He enjoyed it very much. If I could leave zero stars, I would. From start to never getting our food, and leaving, tonight was the worst experience we've ever had at a Texas Roadhouse. Gabriella, our server, was terrible. She had an attitude and repeatedly messed up when we ordered drinks, then appetizers. We never actually got our entree. At that point, someone came over and said our food had sat so long, the kitchen was forced to remake it. We decided it wasn't worth staying as we'd already been seated for an hour, had exactly one drink each, and were never checked on again. I had never been so furious with a restaurant manager in my life. We are from out of town and visit often cause we have family so we went here. They were very busy which is great, the server was great BUT that's where it stopped. My steak came out rare, I sent it back and it still came back rare except this time the manager brought it out. The waitress was mouthing "I told him it's not right". He proceeded to try to tell us 4 adults who saw it was rare that it was not rare. I have NEVER had a manager try to argue it was cooked right when clearly it wasn't. We live right by a Texas Roadhouse and have been to a couple others but this one was such awful customer service. A few of my friends and I were so excited that a Texas Roadhouse was coming to West Madison, so we decided to try it out. The food at this location is on par with what's typical for TR, no complaints at all there. But unfortunately, the service we received left a bit to be desired. After my table was sat, our waitress brought us our waters and then promptly spilled them all over our table and laps. Now these things happen, no big deal to me - but she left directly after and did not return with a rag for almost 5 minutes. Naturally, by this time my group had managed to wipe up the mess with our napkins. This alone wouldn't have been an issue, but there were more issues afterwards. Our waitress then asked for our drink orders, but let us know that they were all out of margarita mix, so couldn't do any margaritas. We found out later from an adjacent table that this actually wasn't true - they were only out of one variety of frozen mix. This explains why all the tables around us had margaritas! My group definitely would've ordered margaritas if we had known this, but unfortunately we weren't given the opportunity. Our waitress also never refilled our complimentary bread, even though we had 5 people at our table and finished the first round of rolls almost instantly. Finally, she took an incredibly long time to come back with our check - to the point where we had to send someone to find her. It appeared that the tables around us with different servers were getting better service, so this may have only been an issue with our particular server, and not the entire restaurant. Unfortunately, this experience was well below average compared to other TR locations, so I had to give it 2 stars. read more

I came to the area for business, and sat for service once, and did take out the other time. Both times, the service was exceptional, food was fresh and delicious, and the overall experience was wonderful. I got the Chicken Critter Salad both times (it was that good) - each time the seasoning on the chicken was SO GOOD, which is not always the case with crispy chicken on a salad. All of the vegetables were fresh and crispy, making what could have been a dull salad absolutely amazing. Not to be outshone, the young woman who was working at the takeout desk the evening i picked up my takeout. Most likely the nicest, kindest, most patient person I've met in some time. I'm not normally one for a chain restaurant but my daughter has been begging to come to Texas Roadhouse. From the moment we walked in the entire staff was top notch. Our server was Caleb and he was so nice. I caught him at the kiosk cause my daughter panic ordered the wrong side and he was more than happy to change it for us. The expo person brought out my salad and made sure to check in if we needed anything while they were there (tall blond) then Bree the manager stopped by to welcome us back since it had been quiet awhile since we had been to a TR and had never been to this location. She has us try some of the loaded baked potatoe soup which was top notch! The only negative I can say is that I'm bummed I didn't come here sooner. Friendly service and the ambiance is fun. Ribs were tough and the sauce is confusing...I think I may have tasted cinnamon and ketchup??? The country fried steak was so salty, that's all I tasted--salt. And the breading was thick and like nothing I've ever experienced. The rolls are good, and even better with the cinnamon butter. I agree with other reviews that they are perhaps a bit too sweet, but they're still good. Here's a confusing thing: I ordered a loaded baked potato (cheese sour cream, etc.) once, because it seemed foolproof. But it came with cinnamon butter. Weird. Had to have been a mistake, right? But we had ordered out, so I just didn't have butter on my baked potato. Ate two bites. I don't understand the appeal of this place...why is the parking lot frequently full. Why do people like this place? Just the desensitized American taste bud? Or are the service and ambiance enough to compensate for the mediocre food? At this point, if my wife or mother in law ever wants to go back, I'll probably just order a soft drink while they eat. Maybe a roll. read more

I have given this restaurant a second chance and they have failed me more than the first time. With the first visit, they charge my card twice for our bill, the next day when I called and spoke to the manager, he was aware of the duplicate charge and said he would refund it that a credit would be on my account within the next 5 to 10 business days. Well it is almost a month and a half later and I have yet to see the credit. I decided to give the restaurant a second chance and booked a table for a party of nine for 530 on Saturday night to celebrate my mothers 76th birthday. When the hostess sat us, we were at two tables one was for five people and another was 4 across the dining room. When we asked why our family could not sit together we were told that corporate has a new policy that parties more than six will be split up. OK would've been nice to know that before we were sat Or when I called in earlier that day to make the reservation. So basically the message Texas Roadhouse is sending is that if you have a family gathering of more than six people, your family will be split up and you won't be able to dine with th'em. I guess the other message they're sending is if I want to bring my work employees there for a luncheon that if we have more than six on our team, we will not be able to sit together. I guess I will choose another place for our team lunches. In addition when we got our food tonight, there was tape in my six year olds steak bites. When we showed it to the waiter, they didn't know what to say, and said they would get us another serving. We agreed to that, but the server never brought her food out. So she ended up eating off of her mothers plate. When we were finished eating we reminded the server of her entrée and he completely said oh I apologize I forgot. So basically, we never got her meal. Outside of those issues the purpose of going out to eat is so that you can be waited on, and if you have to remind the server to refill your drinks or remove the plates from the table before or in between different entrées, it doesn't feel like, you're being waited on. We did bring our concerns up to the manager, and she was very attentive in listening, and said she would take our concerns back to corporate. I just feel bad that my mom had such a crappy birthday celebration since she was the one who chose that place. When you turn 76 all you want is your family around you and to be able to talk across the table and that is some thing we cannot do at this restaurant.
