I am somewhere between a 3 and 4. Some things were good and others were just fine. Making the reservation just days before for a group of 12 was very easy and they seemed more than happy to accommodate us, which we were really appreciative of. Food all came out accurately, and it was hot. Our server was incredibly friendly and did a great job working hard to accommodate all of us. He was very patient with splitting checks, and I know that takes extra time. After we were seated, I was surprised that we didn't have anyone come to our table for a while. I finally got up to ask someone if we could put in a drink order. I am not sure if they hadn't assigned our table yet but as soon as I checked in with someone, they sent our server over immediately. It took a very long time for the drinks to arrive. This was a group that would have spent even more on the bar bill if the drinks would have come out quicker throughout the meal. Especially because they have such a fun cocktail menu. My dinner salad had some wilted greens. Was it edible? Absolutely. It just wasn't the quality I have typically experienced here. Our meals were good. The focaccia is delicious. I had the trio medallions, and they were cooked perfectly. The person next to me had hers cooked to a different temperature and hers were also done perfectly. A friend wanted to make sure they did something to acknowledge my husband's birthday. They brought out a piece of turtle cheesecake with a candle. It was very good, but I was shocked to see the $4.00 charge. To be clear, the server had mentioned at the beginning that they offer a 50% discount for a birthday dessert, but I actually thought I misheard him. I don't think I've ever been to a place that does this. A decent restaurant but I expected more. The lasagna was good but not great. On the first taste I experienced the bite of too much salt but it was meaty and the sauce was excellent and except for the salt it's pretty good. One person had a steak and it was cooked perfectly and tasty. Other dishes were good and the service was excellent. Had a terrible Rye Manhattan at the bar which was surprising in a higher end place like this. Tasteless and small and disappointing. My wife and I were there early Friday night. We were seated right away Im the restaurant area. We each ordered a specialty cocktail and both were delicious and arrived quickly. My husband and I popped in for drinks and appetizers at the bar and Sydney was AMAZING!! They were busy and training a new bartender but the drinks were perfect and she was on point!!! I love the dim, lounge-like atmosphere of the place. Our server was friendly and helped us modify the entrees to our delight. The calamari was good, despite some pieces being a bit chewy. We enjoyed the zucchini fries even though they were a bit soggy. They simply needed to be crunchier. All at the table were satisfied with their dishes. A few criticisms: my filet Oscar was a bit overdone (med-well not medium.) I was not a fan of the crab cake atop the steak. It was way too bready and the crabmeat was in little crumbles. A filet Oscar should have big chunks of crab or lobster meat. I also felt the Steak DeBurgo was over seasoned with garlic, but my son enjoyed it. The Chanel No.5 pasta dish was well balanced and full of flavor. Definitely a repeat order. Our desserts were also a big hit. The crème brûlée had a full sweet creamy flavor with that crunchy sugar shell. The Warm Chocolate Cake was a crowd pleaser. Recommendation from someone that often visits this Italian restaurant. We were able to get in without reservations. Service was 5 stars. Food was a solid 4.5 stars. The bread was amazing. Tip: request side of balsamic to add to olive oil/Parmigiano cheese. For entrees we got Salmon, Risotto and Chanel 45. All very good. Arugula in Risotto was more of a garnish than adding to dish. Not a great experience. Seated and took quite a while to get a drink. Eventually received a half full cocktail. Ordered a 16 oz. Ribeye. Server states "How do you want your Prime Rib"? I would have thought there was a salad shortage when I received that. I mean, its just salad. seriously. I had to question the server if the steak was actually 16 oz because it looked like a glorified breakfast steak for $46. Then they forgot my add on onions until I was almost done eating. The steak was not marbled at all as advertised. Had little to no marbling, leaving it fairly tasteless. Edible of course but had much higher expectations for a ribeye then this. local grocery store ribeye would have been way better to put it in perspective. I have never sent a steak back, written a review or complained about a steak before this. Sure, I`ve thought some were better than others but still enjoyed it until tonight. Johnny's Italian Steakhouse is a lovely restaurant with decidedly mediocre food and service. I chose this restaurant for its proximity to my hotel. I'm traveling on business and thought I would be able to get a nice relaxing meal here. I was very sadly mistaken and very disappointed! The bruschetta was soggy and more closely resembled a grilled cheese sandwich than a traditional Italian bruschetta. No sooner had I finished than the salad course showed up chilled so cold it was almost painful to eat. Again no sooner had I laid down my fork in the salad and the main course showed up. This was an Italian restaurant so I went for the pasta carbonara dish. However, what arrived was more like an Alfredo than a carbonara as it was so doused in cream,which, by the time I finished it, was separating in a displeasing mixture of butter and cream. Neither butter, nor cream are in a carbonara recipe. As I said, the service was rushed, despite telling my server that I was in no hurry and had planned for a relaxing evening. In fact, it was not more than 34 minutes from the time I placed my order to the time they were clearing away my main course plate I spoke to a manager. Rather than listening to my concerns, she chose to argue with me on each and every point. When I said a carbonara has four ingredients other than the pasta, those being egg, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and pancetta, she informed me that there were lots of different recipes for carbonara. Cream is never part of a carbonara recipe. Any restaurant that claims to be an Italian restaurant should have that basic knowledge of Italian recipes if they have no other. When I mentioned how rushed the meal was, she argued with me as to how long I had actually been there as if she knew. Clearly, the concept of the customer always being right is one she was unfamiliar with. It's not like I asked for anything from the restaurant. I was not seeking any reduction of price. I ate the pasta Alfredo that was advertised as carbonara, and I had the bruschetta despite its being soggy. I fully expected to pay for it and had no problems doing so. I did, however, feel that management might want to hear that one of their customers was less than satisfied with the meal and service. Such was not the case! If you're looking for food that is Italian in name only and not in recipe, you might give this place a try. But if you're looking for authentic Italian food, this is not the place to go! If you're looking for a meal that's going to last less than an hour. Absolutely this is the place for you even when they are pretty empty they will still do everything to rush you out the door. As for me, I will not come back here again. The only thing saving this review from one star is that is a nice restaurant inside. They had a good designer. read more

We had a very special occasion and needed a nice place for dinner. The day before, I stopped by to make a reservation and pick a table for us. We discussed the time and the number of people who would be sitting at our table and picked the table that worked best for us. I stressed the importance of this event several times and was assured that everything would be just the way we discussed. When we all showed up at the reserved time, the table I had requested was unavailable, and we were seated at a different table right by the kitchen doors, where the staff was constantly going back and forth. It was very noisy and uncomfortable. In addition, there were not enough chairs and silverware at the table, and the waitress made no attempts to bring additional silverware for us. So, I had to go and find a chair and bring it to the table myself. It took the waitress a solid 15 minutes to come and take our order. After that, we were left alone for 55 minutes without food or any updates on when the food would be ready. Only after we flagged down the waitress did she go to the kitchen to check on our order. Eventually, she brought us most of what we ordered but forgot an appetizer, which we never received. Later on, another waiter spilled water on one of us, and once again, no attempts were made to address the situation. On top of that, the temperature inside was very low, and we all felt like we were freezing, which made for a very uncomfortable evening. Overall, it was a pretty bad and very disappointing experience. Management never made any attempts to rectify the situation or even apologize for such a poor level of service. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good place for a special occasion. read more

This place is the shit! I don't know why but when I see a restaurant in a hotel I make an assumption that I'll be disappointed I've been very wrong about that. I love it! We went here when we lived in Sun Prairie and it definitely didn't not disappoint us. There was a ton of parking. The place was upscale and I wore my Aron Rodgers jersey ‍. I should've worn a dress shirt. Great service, they were extremely attentive to us, and I love this about nicer restaurants. We decided to get the little Italy combination came with bruschetta bread, fried raviolis, sausage bread, and crispy calamari. We loved them all except the sausage bread, some of the bread on the inside wasn't cooked all the way but it would've been better if it was. The calamari was fresh and crispy, the bruschetta was delicious, and the raviolis I believe we're housemaid and may be very happy. I went on Sunday and my server Christine told us about the half-price bottles of wine and she paired our wine with the meal. I was impressed with her knowledge, but also the amount of teamwork displayed in the restaurant. Christine helped clear other servers tables and they helped her by doing the same. I worked in the Food service industry for a long time and I've never seen such good teamwork and it was really refreshing. It's hard to find servers that care about all of the guest not just the guest that will be tipping them. I highly recommend dining here! I just had dinner there last night. I want to start with what went right last night. I had Marianna as a server. She was perfect. Gave me time to look over the menu, got my drink order quickly and correctly, and didn't hover. The other things that went right, were my filet medallions. I had the filet and seafood Rockefeller, with salad, and roasted Brussels sprouts, with a mushroom steak topper. I order my filet medium rare. Mine came out perfectly, and the Gorgonzola sauce was the perfect pairing to it. The mushrooms came in a separate dish, and maybe that's because of the sauce that was already on the steak. They were whole, and so hot, I could barely eat them. Overall, I didn't care for them. The sage wasn't overpowering or anything, they just weren't that good. The salad that came with my meal: apparently you don't get a choice of dressing because I wasn't asked. It was a balsamic vinaigrette, and that was tasty enough. I'm allergic to onions, but Marianna handled my request to have them removed with aplomb, and that's exactly how I got my salad. It was otherwise not a great salad. The pepperoncini was a surprise, but there really isn't a description for what's in the house salad, and it was easily ignored. The 'roasted' Brussels sprouts were mushy, and the bacon was non-existent, or at least, I didn't taste any. The Rockefeller was the most pitiful. For presentation, there is a half a tail on the plate, and it's maybe 2oz of a small dice of lobster and scallop, with breadcrumbs on top. It tasted mostly like breadcrumbs, but at least edible. Couldn't taste any of the other flavors that are typically present in a Rockefeller sauce. Not keen on having paid $3.75 for a pint glass of ice tea (with free refills at least), but at least I got a lemon wedge with each refill, and my take out drink. At least they know how to cook steak, which as a steakhouse, they'd better. Don't think I'll be going back, and I can't really recommend it to anyone I know. COVID-19 restrictions are in place with table spacing, several hand sanitizer stations and the staff are wearing masks and gloves. Upon arriving we were promptly seated, menu's given and beverages ordered. We were unhappy that the full menu wasn't being offered as listed on their website. We were looking forward to crab cakes and lobster bisque. Unfortunately they were not on the limited menu. We expressed our disappointment with our server and the manager came out to apologize. He nicely explained his supply chain problems with obtaining fresh seafood and said that he hoped it would be resolved next week. He also said the website was controlled by corporate and not the individual franchises which may be why the limited menu wasn't shown. The brandy old fashion was excellent. Highly recommended. We ordered bruschetta with the goat cheese on the side. Nicely grilled bread with fresh tomatoes. A basket of fresh made focaccia was served with a small container of olive oil and Parmesan so you could make you own Italian butter. All the food was excellently prepared. My New York strip was perfectly rare and juicy. The garlic mash was creamy and had the right amount of garlic. I upgraded to a spinach salad. It was way bigger than a side salad full of bacon, sun dried tomatoes, candied pecan and hard boiled eggs. The dressing is not served hot. I really liked it. My husband was hoping for a traditional spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. His main was the cavatappi with sausage in a spicy tomato sauce. Excellent. Our friends both ordered the medallion trio with house salads and garlic mash. The medallions are served with a Parmesan crust. The steak was tender and a perfectly done medium. The house salad looked fresh and crisp. The meal was excellent as was the service, but no room for desserts. Didn't forget the take home boxes. We'll be back soon. read more

We live closer to the East side location, but drive over here because the service is always better. We FINALLY came and tried the Sunday Brunch Buffet, and it did not disappoint! We made reservations, which I recommend because it really picked up in there once we sat down. You pay 18.99 for this amazing brunch by buffet that has spaghetti, salmon, garlic mashed, to eggs Benedict, prime rib and ever meat side you can imagine. They have salads, an omelet AND waffle station, as well as an entire table of desserts. They also have options for the kiddos, with chicken strips and other singular items.
