The place was crowded when we arrived at 6:30pm but we were offered immediate seating at the bar and we took it. The bar staff was amazing and service was spot on. The typical Road House country atmosphere was evident everywhere. I had the steakhouse salad and my son had a half rack of ribs. I took a photo of my salad but by the time I had turned to him he was 1/2 way into the rack of ribs. The salad was highly recommended and I finished it all. My son loved the fall off the bone ribs and the side of fried onions was a hit. My parents treated me to a birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and unfortunately the experience did not meet guest service expectations. My elderly father arrived ahead of the rest of our party and was unfamiliar with the seating policy; while he was eventually seated, the service that followed was lacking. Once our full party arrived, we experienced minimal table service. We had to request drink service, the bread baskets were cleared and never offered to be refilled, and our appetizer plates were not cleared. I am unsure if the individual who seated us was the Manager on Duty, but the overall service at our table was unsatisfactory. An assistant who delivered our food was the only staff member who demonstrated attentiveness, which we appreciated. I would appreciate clarification on whether this level of service aligns with Texas Roadhouse guest service standards. If not, I am concerned as to why employees were permitted to treat guests in this manner. Guest service should remain consistent throughout the dining experience, and guests should not feel overlooked once seated. We tried to be added to the waiting list for 12 people. After 8 minutes and a call from another phone the manager finally got on the line and said that we couldn't get us in until 2 hours later. We asked if they could split us up and the manager Samuel at that point became very rude so he lost out on 12 meals. Ordered a to-go meal with a time to pickup as usual. Arrived on time and waited for the text to say food is ready. Ten minutes past I went up to the window to check on things. I was told the ticket was lost and no meal was ready. Things happen no biggie, I asked for a no rush redo as I was wanting a steak medium temperature and I know how the kitchen staff feels about redo's even when it was no fault of mine. Just as I suspected I got the ready text 2 minutes later. Take the to-go home and get ready to eat. This is the most rare steak I have witnessed in my days. Disappointing early Valentine's dinner. We expected them to be busy, so we did the waitlist, and got a message at 7:36 pm that said to expect a 45-55 minute wait time. 8:40 rolls around, so we just went in and asked about the reservation, and the front desk gal (Tiara) only said that she would put us back on the list, as we arrived after the reservation time. I told her (and even showed her) my phone messages which NEVER indicated a text saying that they were ready for us. So she put us back on the list, and we got the text 3 minutes later. This part was extremely frustrating for us because we planned ahead, and whoever handles reservations did not do their job properly. Again, we were understanding that it would be busy today. But our seating area was not optimal..we were sat in a 2 person booth right next to the entrance for the kitchen, so it was constant movement from workers in and out, which overall felt invasive. My fiancé ordered a medium rare, and they brought a medium well steak. They did remake the steak, but it was a. under seasoned, and b. came out late, as I was already done with my meal, and my fiancé had finished the rest of his. Our server (Harley) was nice, but it always felt like he was only checking on us because he was walking to and from the kitchen. I came here for my friend's birthday dinner and service was great. We were seated right away and all of the staff there were very friendly. There was already bread and cinnamon butter on the table as we were getting seated. The bread was cold so it was just okay. But when we got a second round of bread, it came out hot and it tasted so much better overall since it seemed like it was fresh out the oven. I got the 8oz NY strip with green beans and fries. The steak was so juicy, so perfectly cooked to medium, and had a good amount of salt and pepper. It was so flavorful that I didn't even need any type of steak sauce. The fries were also very good and salty. Unfortunately, the green beans were bad. They tasted very preserved and like they came straight out of a can. Overall, the environment was great, the staff came out and danced on the floor every so often, and they let you sit on a saddle if it's your birthday! I don't eat here often enough. I love the place. I've had a negative thing or two happen here and there but when I squish all of my experiences together, I'm still going to award 5 stars. My most recent visit the place was PACKED and we were told 15min wait. We waited maybe 3min. Our server kind of felt like he was rushing us a little, but he got everything right and was very nice. His name was Dennis. (See, I remembered the name!) My strawberry lemonade was probably the best lemonade I've ever had. Hubby had unsweetened ice tea and went through 3 refills. MOH had a tall Blue Moon. We had a coupon for a free app. We chose their cactus blossom and it was delicious. I ordered a 6oz steak, loaded mash, cedar salad, and grilled shrimp. Food was amazing. Leftovers tasted just as good if not better. My MOH did send her steak back. It was mooing just a little too much for her and was too chewy, but I thought mine was fantastic. The bread that visit was hard as a rock tho. I guess that happens but it was a little disappointing. Their bread is SO good! The bathroom was super clean and I noticed they added more seating. The place is super, super packed but they're always busy every time I go. I see the need for the added tables. THEY STOPPED SINGING AND DANCING! That made me so happy. I hated it when they did that. It was super annoying, the employees always looked so bored and it was in the way. They do have the stupid birthday/celebration saddle tho. That thing is just as dumb. Prices aren't bad at all but you can NOT combine any offers whatsoever. Our waiter made sure we knew that. Like we couldn't use our free app coupon and also get the 2 for Whatever Dinner Combo. I visited this establishment for a nice meal with my family to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival, the host up front told my grandma that we would be seated in roughly 20 minutes. She then demanded that we "put our mask on", which we begrudgingly complied. We proceeded to wait in our cars for upward of 30 minutes until we were allowed to go to our seat. We then ate our "food" after another half hour wait. Even worse, when my server shouted an unwanted birthday chant at me, they called me a "very special cowboy?!?!" After a short wait, the waiter informed us the wait on the steaks, because "they were backed up, it would be about ten to get it on the grill, and 25 to get it" (( I assume a lot of people ordered steaks at the busy time we were there.... no problem.) We received it in a timely manner, her NY strip was cooked perfectly.... My Prime Rim ( An alomost 25 dollar cut) came out almost blue, I would not bet money to call it rare. A far cry from Medium. I cut it in three places to assure it was in fact cooked udnerdone. I asked for a supervisor, he came over, I asked if it looked like it was medium. he agreed and said No. Then offered to have it put back on the grill....... WTF!?!?!? It has already been cooked, the juices spent.... might as well throw it in microwave. I said no, just take it away. Why the hell would you offer to reheat an expensive undercooked meat and NOT OFFER to have a new one cooked properly? Does Texas Roadhouse think its customers deserve a reheated piece of flesh at such a price? Jan. 16th my fiancé and I went to Texas Roadhouse. My fiance's Rib eye was excellent. However my Potterhouse was poorly done grilled only on one side. I did send it back and the second one was much better done and cooked on both sides. This was the 2nd time we had gone and I don't like to review a place before going twice because everyone is allowed a bad night. I enjoy my steak medium rare which someplaces are lazy about it because it doesn't take long. But it's easy to screw up and this is exactly what they did. For a place that is known for steak half assing it is a no-no. I do appreciate them fixing their mistake which is why they received 3 stars. read more

Ordered prime rib medium rare showed up like the attached photo. Also had kids steak bites show up looking like burnt ends consider they were ordered to be medium. Manager said I didn't cook it when complained about it. Wow just wow. Would not go back here. Manager did take the prime rib off bill but in reality none of the food was cooked the way we orders it. Even the ribeye in exchange was over cooked. Let alone food came out for 6 in the party 15 minutes before the other 6. This location just sucks. TR is easily my favorite place on the planet to to go eat at and everyone that knows me even knows that because I constantly talk about it. This spot though, no. I work out of Sioux City so I'm here. I'm a truck driver and I try to go out to eat at least every other weekend when I'm in town. I think this is the 5th or 6th time I've been to this location and I won't be back. I'll literally go drive to Omaha if I want TR. Every place I sit down and eat at in Sioux City, it's just crappy service. The work ethic in this city sucks when it comes to any type of food service I've had to deal with. Today I ordered an appetizer as soon as I sat down. Then she kept asking me if I was ready to order. Normally, people do not order until they receive their appetizer and that's pretty standard in the restaurant business. I ordered anyways about 10 minutes after sitting down. My appetizer came out at 24 minutes. My main food came out 90 second later. My appetizer was barely even warm. I ordered the fried pickles and they're not really that good unless they're hot. I ended up eating like 5 or 6 of them by that time yeah they were cold. Normally when whoever is the manager is (Supposed to be, or at least other locations do it) walking around asking people how their food is, I would've mentioned that the pickles were not acceptable, but the manager Zach I think his name was on his shirt never even left the inside of the kitchen the entire time I was there excepy for when he walked up and talked to the girls at the hostess stand for a couple minutes. Ok so when my food showed up, my fries weren't there. When I palaced my order I told her that I was going to eat the steak and fries here and take the chicken and mashed potatoes to go. Kinda hard to eat the fries with the steak if there's aren't any fries. I ordered them with bacon and cheese as well and I'm guessing they completely forgot too make them so they just threw them together to get them out and there was next to no bacon on them. You'd think that with the manager standing there in the doorway to the kitchen the entire time I was there that he'd be aware of what's going on in the kitchen.... No I'm going to guess not and I'm going to guess he doesn't even look at the food as it's going out to get served. No he doesn't do that either because I sat there watching what he was doing the entire time I was in there. Lack of training? Poor work ethic? Lazy? I don't normally like writing harsh reviews like this but I expect alot more when I go to TR. I literally left here mad when I walked out the door today. The server was great and she did get a tip from me. If you're reading this and you go out to eat and don't want to tip your server, tip them anyways as it's not their fault most of the time of something gets messed up. I really didn't want to like Texas Roadhouse. Their decor, line dancing, and music seemed so freaking tacky, like some kind of Western-themed tourist trap, but darn it, the food is too dang good to avoid just because of some country music. This place gets very busy, very fast, so either get there early or expect a wait. Early birds get to order from a slightly discounted (if small) menu if you so desire, so there's another incentive to get there shortly after they open. They keep their raw steaks behind glass near the entrance, so you can pick your cut if you have a preference. (I've never done it, but the option is there.) They warn of allergies in small signage at the door, but just to reiterate: Avoid Texas Roadhouse if you have extreme peanut allergies, because each table gets a complimentary bucket of peanuts to peel and munch on! If your allergies are mild, you can probably just request they keep the bucket away from your table, but if the mere presence of nuts in the air is harmful to you, you'll want to give this restaurant a hard skip. On top of the peanuts, each table gets a basket of bread rolls with a side of cinnamon butter. The rolls are amazing on their own, but adding the cinnamon butter elevates them to pure heaven. I'd be happy to just eat them and skip the actual dinner. The waitstaff have always been happy to refill the basket, too. Texas Roadhouse has a nice assortment of side dishes, which is especially useful when most entrees come with two sides. You can choose to load up on potatoes and chili, or go a little healthier with some veggies and a salad. While most restaurants will load up a mixed veggies order with something cheap like squash, Texas Roadhouse has always served me nothing but cooked carrots and broccoli. When I'm feeling up for something a little unhealthy, my go-to entree is the chicken fried steak topped with cream gravy. It's a wonderful mix of flavors with the meat, breading, and gravy blending together. The fried catfish are also pretty tasty, and naturally they serve a mean steak. I normally don't like pork, but I've tried a bite of a their pork chops and they're so good that I could almost mistake them for a beef steak. With the rolls, peanuts, and side dishes, I rarely have enough room left in my stomach to eat more than a couple bites of my entree before I have to ask for a box. (Heaven forbid I order appetizers or dessert!) Come super hungry or prepared to eat leftovers for lunch the next day. On a final note, if you hear The Devil Went Down to Georgia on the speakers, it's a sign that the waitstaff are about to start line dancing and block off the main drag, so if you were about to leave or use the bathroom, you'd better get while the gettin's good. read more

This has always been one of our favorite places to eat, but last time our wait staff was a little less then desirable. This time, Sary went above and beyond making sure that everything from our drinks to our meal was more than amazing! I made sure that her manager knew just how awesome she was. When asked, when she first let us know she was our waitress, what the occasion was that we were out for supper, she remembered that my husby had just finished taking his Journeyman's 4 hour exam and congratulated him again as we left. (BLARING COUNTRY MUSIC heard as you open a car door in the parking lot) seriously, wtf is this place? You're given a number from a host that shouts above the blaring Charlie Daniels Band and you enter some sort of narrow, wooden, hodling pen until your number appears on one of the many electronic screens. Most everyone in the holding pen is an average of 20 lbs overweight-- being kind-- and a lone TV shows 2 and a Half Men from the local Fox affiliate on mute. (Finally led to our table after a 30 minute wait in the pen) The place is a like a guilt-free zone for brazenly Midwestern over-eaters. Although there is definitely something a lot less depressing that most of the other buffet-driven overeaters clubs dotting America. I think TR will put butter, gravy, cheese, and sour cream on anything you order. In fact, they push this option of having your already oversized meal upgraded with having a potato "loaded" with unnecessary fat and calories. This place is where the calorie is worshipped (20 oz beers for $1.99 duruing happy hour). Anyways...the food is decent and surprisingly priced low. No wonder the option of loading your potato or entree with some other calorie option for a litte more is pushed so heavily by the servers. I had the ribs and they were good I must admit. The were tender, but lacked any sort of BBQ flavor I've had with real BBQ ribs. Still considering these meals are competing with Chili's and Applebee's-- they're knocking it out of the park at Texas Roadhouse. Although I have many problems with Texas Roadhouse as a whole, I would go there again if stranded or hungry near a suburban shopping mall. My steak was done to perfection and the baked potato was larger than normal which was very good. Had the house salad and dressing which was very good. The staff was very attentive without hovering over us. All in all a very good experience. This city needed one of these. The server ran my card and slipped me the final bill with no explanation why it was $20 more. When I asked about it......Oh, sorry. We forgot to add the mixed drinks.
