my wife and I went to Texas roadhouse and were told the wait was about 45 minutes. We were asked to wait outside so we went to her car and waited for 40 minutes. Went back inside to use the restrooms. There's a whole big crowd in the lobby and the young man behind the desk asked if we had been paged to come in. We said no he told us we had to wait outside. I told him my wife was cold. We waited 40 minutes he told us wait outside or you will not be served. This is an 18 to 20 year old kid speaking to a man and wife who are in their 60s and regulars this restaurant. We left. Call back ask for the manager. She gave her name is Marie to be kind I would say she was less than sympathetic. 043 children and run my own business for seven years. Me and my wife went for a late lunch on a Sunday . Place was pretty packed and usually is no matter what day or the time of day . We were sat around 1 pm . It took awhile to get our food around 1 hour . I had ordered a 20 ounce Ribeye and wife ordered boneless wings . When I finally received some of my food steak and baked potato the food was barely warm (room temperature) . My wife's food was also room temperature. The steak ended up being rare ( i ordered medium) and cook left out the mushrooms on the steak . So I sent steak back . I also noticed my second side was not brought out (bowl of chili) so I told my waitress and she brought out my chili. 30 minutes later still no steak . When I finally did get my steak it was well done and a smaller steak , not the same steak . I finally told waitress to forget about the steak since my wife was done eating . We went here after the viewing for my father. There was 9 of us. When we checked in they asked if we had any special requests. I said, "hot food and a good waitress." My wife and I love Texas Roadhouse. We have always had great food and excellent service. I love 10oz Ft Worth Ribeye, Caesar salad, Sweet potato. I may need to start with dessert first because I am full and never get that far. Reading some of these reviews it seems many are giving low ratings for very unusual circumstances that no restaurant could accommodate. Nonetheless, we highly recommend this location. The rolls and cinnamon butter alone are worth the four stars. Saturday night, completely jam packed, we're out of town visitors, 50-minute wait, cool. Sit down, drinks, bread and butter -again, yum- friendly server. Our entrees took 45 minutes. We were talking so we didn't really notice how long it was. Server came over and apologized, said he would go and check to see what was going on. Then our food came out, brought to us by the manager. She apologized profusely, ticket machine error and said she would take the meals off of our bill. I had the pulled pork dinner with steak fries and it was good. Others ordered grilled chicken salad and wings. Our check, which should have been $45, was $9. Things happen, it was a mistake. The server was apologetic. The manager was apologetic and did what she could to make our night better. read more

But if you're a group of 10 that calls 2 days ahead and they tell you that's fine and you will be seated at 6 o'clock, don't expect to be seated until at least 8 or 8:30. I've eaten here a handful of times over the years, and I must say that this Texas Roadhouse just keeps getting worse and worse. Last time we visited was the day before Christmas Eve since I was craving some beef. I ordered the filet mignon medallions with rice pilaf and veggies on the side. My "filet" was chewy like shoe leather even though it looked medium (pink) in the middle, and there was no touch of salt or pepper AT ALL on this meat. No flavor, just 3 chewy chunks that were totally inedible. My rice was super sticky and again flavorless, and my veggies came out 5 minutes after my meal in a drinking cup full of hot water at the bottom. Service was slow and unfriendly and once our meals were delivered we never seen our waitress again until she brought the bill 30 minutes later. My husband ordered the country fried steak which looked like it came from KFC: everything had obviously been frozen and the gravy was all gelled up on the meat and potatoes with that "pudding skin" on top. An absolutely disgusting visit and needless to say we will never be going back to this Texas Roadhouse in Springfield. Never! read more

The Texas Roadhouse is basically another name for (Outback / Lonestar , etc). The premise is have a restaurant that is mainly built of wood in that fake light-colored log cabin style, put "Texas" in the name along with "Steak" and you have a franchise. The rolls they bring out with the cinnamon butter- OMG! I almost always get the chicken critter salad and it's massive and delicious! In my opinion, this is the best steakhouse in Springfield. The quality of the food is excellent and the help is always quick and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit on the noisy side, so if you are looking for a quite restaurant, this is not the place for you. On the other hand if you have kids or a loud group, you will fit right in. Brought our team here on a road trip. We had 20 people in our party, literally every restaurant in America takes a pre order, except this Texas Roadhouse. So they made our assistant coach come in a half hour early, still would not put our order in. Once our team was seated they still refused to put in our pre order which was completely typed up and had all 20 orders ready to go. Texas Roadhouse is currently our favorite chain. We don't go out to eat too often, but this is usually our first choice (unless there's a great local favorite). We went to this particular location while in town visiting family. This location is in the shopping area of town. All down the road are the chain stores and restaurants. It's convenient in that sense, and not too far from down-town. The place was fairly busy for a Thursday night, but our group of 6 was seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of us the entire time. I didn't see much of a difference between this location and the one we go to on our home town. Decor and music was the same, food consistently good, and service prompt and friendly. Those who ordered steaks found them satisfying. For the others who did not, meals were all good. The cactus blossom was excellent, and is best for larger groups like ours (it's huge!). What I like best about Texas Roadhouse in general is how much of the stuff they make in-house. Most of their sauces are made there, rolls made from scratch, and most steaks cut in-house. Sure, you may still get a tough steak sometime, but that can happen anywhere. So the food here is pretty good and the appetizers are amazing. But the service here was shit. I had to wait 20 minutes just to get a table . Once I got my table the guy came pretty fast and asked me what I wanted to drink. After what he gave me my drink he took my order and I got my appetizer. But it took 15 minutes to get my appetizer. And then 10 more minutes to get my food. My food was off-brand. And my friend wanted a refill and then the waiter said "another coke? Or was it Dr Pepper" when it was root beer. We had the bone in ribeye and new york strip with mushrooms and onions on top. Cooked medium rare, it was tender and juicy, cooked just right. The nuts and rolls were amazing and service was superb! We like the food, when we can actually get it. Today is the 5th, yes that's correct, 5th time we've had to change our order. After ordering, sitting there enjoying an appetizer and just about the time we anticipate our entree to be served, the waitress comes to inform us they are out of prime rib. The first time this happened we had a large group and we were treating friends. The next couple of times, we asked ahead of time if there was prime rib before we all ordered. We were assured there was a sufficient amount only to have the waitress return to say some of us would have to change our order. It has also happened twice on web orders, like today. We ordered well over an hour before we wanted our order. Less than 20 minutes before we were supposed to pick it up, the restaurant called to inform us, once again, they are out of prime rib and we would have to change our order. How did it take 45+ minutes to figure out they could not fill the order? There is another restaurant in town that serves prime rib. From now on, we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Then we were told we would have to split party up because they cannot accommodate a part over about 10 cause tables etc do not move. The worst experience ever. Once we got our food a server decided to sweep next to us. Being the only customers in the section we kindly asked if she could please wait until we ate. She rudely responded "she was doing her job" we then said we understand however there was debris clearly flying around. So we again asked if she could go down the section. Where there was fries and other food on the floor. She then responded she was almost done. Just then a piece of paper was swept on or table. We asked for the manager. After, ten minutes of us hearing him being called. He comes to the table saying she told him we wanted her to stop sweeping. We pointed out the debris and he kept trying to out talk us. Finally he asked what did we want. We kindly responded that we wanted to have a dinner not covered with debris from the floor. He laughed. We left...there was no reason for us to be treated so badly. I know this is probably counterintuitive considering the name and theme of this restaurant, but Texas Roadhouse has no options for vegetarians. Usually even at meat-centric places I can cobble together a number of sides that are meat free, but Texas roadhouse puts bacon grease on just about everything. Plus, I find the atmosphere a little strange and the beers are pretty mainstream. I think they handle large groups really well though--and not all restaurants have that ability. read more

The food and atmosphere here are amazing! We went late on a Monday and it was still busy but not crowded. Our waitress was Julie and she was awesome and at our table non-stop. The salads were fresh and delicious, the beer was 2.99 from like 4-9 pm happy hour for a large 22 oz. draft. We had ribs, steak, barbecued chicken, and strips, all with loaded seasoned steak fries and they were all amazing! Ive never seen the masses flock to a grub hole like this. We made the mistake of pulling in the parking lot on a friday night. It took us 25 minutes to simply get back out bc the traffic jam. I was thinking " this place has to be the best texas roadhouse in the nation!" WRONG! The NY strip i had this tuesday was a mangled mess of tendon and sinew. I've cooked alot of steaks in my life and even helped butcher before, i cant imagine the hunk of flesh on my plate was actually the NY strip cut i ordered. It was round first of all and not in the shape of any strip steak ive ever seen. Second, at $14 with a salad and fries, what is there profit margin on this meal?? You cant buy a usda choice strip steak thats 8 oz for less than $10 anywhere cooked or not. Add in the overhead of fries, oil, lettuce, egg, cheese, dressing, staff, electricity etc... im thinking their cutting corners at the most obvious place, the steak. Im not sure if my mangled meat was in defiance of bovine anatomy, or if this was a different cut but there was about 2 legitmate bites of meat on this thing. They took it off the bill, but springfield, oh springfield, its time to raise your standards so we can have a decent place to eat. read more

Went here with friends on a Friday night about 8pm. Didn't have to wait for a table. Ordered Ft Worth ribeye cooked medium rare and a tall beer. Service was fast, beer was cold, steak was cooked perfect, and price was a reasonable. The steak was tender and really tasted great. Staff was friendly too.
