Went for lunch with my granddaughter and was pleasantly surprised & impressed. Our waitress was wonderful. She kept us in salad, breadsticks and drinks without being annoying ( which is an art!). I ordered stuffed chicken Marsala and it was very good- a bit too salty but forgivable since it was so good! My granddaughter had rigatoni and she said it was delicious. We ordered delivery for my birthday 3/8 since Olive Garden is my favorite. The driver was having trouble finding our address even though my son was watching where he was going oh his phone and telling him directions of how to get to us. After a lot of back and forth, the order was cancelled! I was so disappointed. We ordered Applebees which got to us no problem. Today, 3/11, we found the Olive Garden order in the corner of our front porch. It was not there before today. My son checked his account and he was charged for the order! Last he knew it had been cancelled! Obviously we threw it all away. Not going to be ordering delivery ever again. To not be able to find our address when there is GPS is ridiculous. I don't know where the order was for three days, but it was not here! read more

Ordered the steak gorgonzola. It was a delivery. The food was horrible it was so salty that I had to spit it out. The rest of the order was ice cold like it had been refrigerated and not reheated. The only warm item was the bread sticks. But they were also very salty. I also got spaghetti with meat sauce and soup both refrigerated cold. I'm completely disgusted by the lack of quality of my order. If we wanted to eat leftovers I could have gotten something from my own refrigerator.. I will never order from here again. You can and should do better than this! Just so you know it only took the delivery guy 5 minutes to get to my home. So it wasn't his fault it was refrigerator cold. read more

Even though a chain restaurant, I love coming here! I have never had a bad meal. The soups, salads and entrées are fabulous.

Service wasn't bad as the hostess and waitress were very nice and friendly. There wasn't a wait to get in on a Saturday at 9 PM. Food was okay, some of the breadsticks were a little hard but only a few. Gnocchi soup was very good, since I got the soup/salad/breadsticks meal thats all I can comment on. Overall not bad, I'd recommend trying them as your destination. read more

They may not be the most original or the best Italian joint in the world, but you have to hand it to them, when it comes to salad and breadsticks, the Olive Garden always delivers. Picked up from here a couple weeks ago and also enjoyed the Fettucine with Asparagus - a winning combination. Glad it was open on a holiday. Our waitress was friendly, but could have been more attentive. My Zuppa Toscana was delicious. I'd go back just for that. The rest- we had some sort of fried shrimp peppers onions appetizer. It was good. Large portion. I had chicken and shrimp carbonara, but was really too full to eat any of it. My partner had a salad, which was fine, and then spaghetti and meatballs, with meat sauce. He didn't like the sauce, and hated the texture of the meatballs. They were very bland. We didn't get our bread sticks until well into the meal, and had to ask for them. I don't know- it's so close to home, I wanted it to be good, but I don't think I can convince my partner to give it a third chance. Also- the bathroom. Emily, Derrick, and Meech all gave us exceptional service. They were so kind and patient with my food allergies; they really made us feel welcome! I was able to customize a dish of oil-free salmon and broccoli with onions, red pepper, and oregano. Would definitely recommend this location to others. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that this is one of the better Olive Garden's I've been to, far moreso than the ones in California. Because I have dear friends who live in Springfield, I'm in the area often, and we go to this particular Olive Garden and have always had amazing service from Aaron, Emily and the others. So what's this review about? As a frequent customer, I witness things that disturb me. I've witnessed customers leaving without paying, despite me trying to bring this to the closest server's attention. I've witnessed customers staying super late past closing time, with no care for the fact that the employees of this establishment may actually want to get home at a decent hour. I've witnessed this one older dude yelling at employees simply because of terrible customers. I've actually had to bite my tongue a few times because I was getting pissed off. Tonight, I was excited to FINALLY be able to return to the restaurant, but after seeing one jackass yelling at one of the workers and not getting any reprimand, I'm beginning to think that this restaurant does not deserve the staff it has. Having been here at least a dozen times, I haven't witnessed anything that tells me that the employees are valued by their managers with the exception of one young guy who everyone loves, Aaron is so amazing, and as someone who tends to empathize with people, I leave this restaurant feeling more sad than happy, and I'm going to be calling the Corporate office tomorrow to complain that the shitty customers give us a bad name. Most nights the food is great. On busier nights you might have to wait longer for your food. Food is pretty consistent. If we ever have a problem it's usually because the server left our food sitting too long and it ends up cold. Occasionally we get a waitress/waiter who likes to play on their phone or BS with other employees rather than do their job. When that happens we ask a manager to get us new waitstaff. No big deal! Pain. It encapsulated me. This is the tail of my struggle with the dreaded plantar fasciitis. I reached my breaking point, the pain to great, I was forced to go to the doctor. To aid my ailing pain I was given a weird Velcro sock device and most importantly: steroids. First of all, why would you willingly take steroids. What's the deal with this whole it will make you stronger thing. It's a myth. Someone alert the Russians! Their efforts are in vain. I did a scientific experiment where I benched before taking the steroids, and then after the steroids, and the results were upsetting. I couldn't bench any more weight then when I started. I am still chronically weak. But there is another effect of steroids: they make you extra emotional, and boy did I feel this one. At this point you may be wondering, "Allison, what does this have to do with the Olive Garden on N Bechtle ave?" Well I'm getting there. So I was a couple days in to my steroids course when my family naively decided to go to Olive Garden. Those fools. I live for carbs so I was mega pumped. I too was a fool. We got our menus and had time to look through them, and eventually the waiter came over to ask us what we want to order. I just so happen to be extremely indecisive and wasn't yet sure what I wanted to munch on: Enter the steroids. She nicely asked us if we were ready to order, the rest of my family nodded there heads but I just sat there, unable to move, as if Elsa had just used her magical powers to freeze me. What did I want to order? Did I want to build a snowman? I couldn't decide. I managed to say I wasn't ready to order, but the power of the steroids was taking over me. Tears streamed uncontrollably down my face, the flow of the tears so rapid and fierce they could have been used to generate hydroelectric power. I got to the bathroom as quick as I could casually speed walk without drawing attention from the rest of the non emotional Olive Garden guests whose ability to not cry I resented so greatly. Luckily the bathroom was empty. It was dimly lit with a dark color palette perfectly designed to match my depressive state. I sobbed uncontrollably. Thoughts of sadness ran through my head. I was a failure who couldn't even choose a type of pasta to order. I would never amount to anything. The world would be better off if I pasta-way (lol I'm sorry if that was in poor taste but I had to). Eventually I got myself together and bravely returned to the outside world. All the food was good. Everything was a little salty but that was only because my tears were falling into all of the food. The rest of the night was a battle. I was a much taller Napoleon, the waiters were the British and Prussian armies, and Olive Garden was my Waterloo. Did I want cheese on my pasta? Who asks someone in my state that? Tell the waitress when to stop adding cheese? Was she mad? I was not capable of answering that? So if you take one thing away from this review it is this: Olive Garden is not a safe space for people on steroids. Other than that I really had no problems with the place. The staff was nice and it wasn't their fault I kept crying at everything they said. And finally, to all my fellow warriors out there dealing with the dreaded plantar fasciitis, you will get through this. Olive Garden is consistently good! Never Great, but Never Poor. The bread sticks are good, the Tour of Italy is really worth the trip.

Do not use the online wait list. We were on the wait list for over an hour and we walked in to see how much longer it would be and they said they just checked us in and it would be about an hour. When we said we were already on the wait list they said that was just a list of guests in your party but you still had to check in in person to be put on the actual list. Unacceptable. Then the manager made the excuse that they "didn't design it". Yet they use it, so they should be held accountable for it. read more

The Olive Garden in Springfield made my birthday so special this year because of our wonderful server, Cole. He took such good care of everything, including a beautiful dessert presentation. I was stunned when he left a card for me that had been signed by everyone on the staff. He is a special young man and I hope he had great success in whatever he does in life. I would like to give them no stars but I can't do that on this program. I ordered online for pick up. The computer told me that the order would be ready at 5:30. When I got there, 5:30 came around and no food. Then 5:45 came around and still no food. Then when I went in to get a refund for my meal, my food was still not ready at 5:49. I have not been to this Olive Garden for two years because the service was bad. The wait was long to get seated and then the wait was even long to get our food. If you order online for pick up, I would not go by the time the system gives you because you will be waiting an hour or two for your food. read more

Ordered dinner for five on Saturday evening knowing it would be busy. No problem with a little wait. However my daughter and I ordered stuffed chicken Marsala (they eliminated reg chicken Marsala from menu some time ago, unfortunately, since it was my fav). All the pasta dishes we order were nice and hot, the chicken Marsala was cold and the chicken was way over done. Also ordered smashed potatoes,got loads of broccoli instead. Haven't been happy with the food for some time but decided to give them another chance. Don't want to go back again or order pick up. read more

I am so very disappointed. Have gone to the Olive Garden here many times with wonderful food. Went on New Years eve and was very very displeased, our server Katie was wonderful, very attentive, but the portion size of our meal was awful. The salad was brought out and there was not enough in it for one person and it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. Our server had to go back and get another one which again barely cover the bottom of the bowl. When our food was brought out, it barely covered half the plate, I have the ravioli with sirloin and shrimp, there were three shrimp. I have very displeased with this place and will not be back. First time we've eaten at the Springfield location and we will be going back. We went on Thursday afternoon so we didn't have to wait in a line and were seated immediately. Our server, Adam, was very personable and knowledgeable. The food was good and hot. If we needed anything like drink refills, Adam was attentive but not overbearingly so. I gave this 5 stars because it's hard to please the public anymore with good food and the good service, I feel it was well deserved. read more

I just want to write a wonderful review for such a good place.. beyond the fact their food is always great.. their service is even better . My two sisters and myself had dinner last night, after a long hard day. My baby sister lost her first love, her boyfriend. I could barely get the girl to eat, let alone stop crying for more than a minute ... when the waitress heard word of what she had gone through all day (all of our faces were in devastation; swollen eyes, no make up) she told the manager Jason.. he then brought us a huge bag full of meals, salads, breadstick, deserts.. plus paid for our entire meal.
