So it's the end of 2025 so decided to enjoy a filet and baked tator. So off to Texas Roadhouse here in T Town. The steak was cooked just as I like it medium rare. Roadhouse has some of the best baked potatoes with the salt on the outer skin prior to serving and we can't forget their rolls n butter. Sat at the bar and was served by Alex and Mary. The adult beverage was good and they made sure I was taken care of great job folks! I decided to order dinner from TRH Monday evening, I wanted to try something new as I always order steak. I decided on the Chicken fried chicken w/mashed potatoes(plain)and corn. I was confused when I arrived back home and looked at my order-I thought they gave me 2 Gravies but as I inspected further, nope it was Mashed potatoes-even though I had modified it Plain! I do not like my food drowned in gravy which they were. I didn't like the mashed potato's very well and the chicken was mediocre-I was disappointed since I was looking forward to something new. Texas Roadhouse serves great food with excellent portions. I call ahead and order my food to go. However, I stopped doing that. But the place is too loud for meaningful conversation at a table. Eating at the location is uncomfortable and almost rudeness inducing in trying to talk to anyone, eve the table staff. My husband wanted to take me out on Mother's Day, so we ate at Texas Roadhouse, Topeka, Ks. The place was packed, of course. Saw the line and thought "we'll never get any food for at least 2 hours!" But we were told a table for 2 should be available in about 20 minutes. It was available in 10 minutes!! Food was excellent, Herb Crusted Chicken and my husband had half a rack of ribs. Our server was Maryah, and she was spectacular! The coffee she brought was hot and fresh. She took our order and got another shaker of salt and the lemon for my ice tea very fast. Kind, courteous and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better server! The salads, and then the entrees were served fast and perfectly. Three hours later they texted me to say they ran out, and what else I would like to order? At least they told me before I showed up. I'm a big fan of Texas Roadhouse and have eaten in more of them then I care to remember. Most of the Texas Roadhouses I've visited have earned either a 3-star or 4-star rating. I've eaten in this particular Roadhouse before (on previous visits to Topeka) and rated it as a 4-star. Tonight, we arrived at 8:30 pm, well after the dinner brush. The restaurant looked like it had been hit hard during dinner. The floor needed swept; tables needed bussed; the first booth we were seated at had a sticky mess on the floor under the booth; the restaurant just looked messy (not dirty but not clean). The gal who seated us was lacking in personality but the rest of the staff was good - friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was excellent. Service was good. My wife ordered the steak kabobs with rice and a salad. She said the kabobs were overly seasoned and a bit spicy. The waiter explained that the kabobs are marinated and that was the "extra flavor" she was tasting. I had the country fried steak with fries and a Ceasar salad. Both were excellent. Based on the overall appearance of the restaurant and my wife's dinner, I'm downgrading this Roadhouse from a 4-star to a 3-star rating. My family and I stopped in here due to almost everything in the area being low ranked, fast food or closed. Our waiter rocked and took great care of my kids, my wife and myself. Giving this place 5 stars for the service!! Right when my family and I walk in, we immediately see the crowds of people waiting to be seated. It's a Saturday night, so I'm patient as I know this is probably one of their busiest nights throughout the week. However, the hostess let us know the wait will be from 1 & 25 mins to 1 & 30mins, so we all get a few drinks and wait at the restaurant across the street. We get a text about an 1 & 20 into our wait, and immediately our hostess is very apologetic about the wait and seats us immediately. Once we get seated, we are greeted with bread and honey butter immediately which satisfies our hunger for waiting for about an hour already. From the beginning, our service has been great. Our server was amazing! I never got his name but he was very accommodating and patient. as some of my party are unable to eat pork. He was unsure if a few items had pork pre-made into the meal, so he ran back into the kitchen to ensure there was no cross-contamination. I have been to a couple texas roundhouse before, and to be honest the food is to be expected and the service is sub-par. However, today the service went above and beyond and my family and I are more than happy with how everything turned out. read more

Service was good but the food aftermath was not good for the next 72hrs is you know what I mean.. . 3 out of the 4 of us had stomach pains and cramps and one of us had food poisoning after eating a rare ribeye from here. Preface with we were a party of 9 and we came on a friday so we know it willbe busy and weare fine with waiting our turn because we had a request for tables. We have larger people in our party and requested a table, and were willing to be spilt into two tables to make it easier. We arrived on time and waited our turn. We were sat at two booths. When one of our party opened our silverware both forks and the knife had crusted on food and when we asked for a new set our server, Samara, rolled her eyes but did get a new set of silverware. Samara did keep rolls coming but she refilled one of our unsweetened teas with sweet tea. Now the back of the house was amazing. Our food came out in a reasonable time for a larger order on a Friday. The break and butter they serve upon arrival is worth the trip. I decided to use what was left on my gift card and get some food to-go. I ordered the mini sliders for kids, house salad and some rattlesnake bites. I was fairly disappointed with the sliders; they looked like they got stepped on in the kitchen and thrown in a box. Not good and overcooked. They gave me the wrong dressing for my salad; thankfully I had some Ranch dressing for the rattlesnake bites to cut the terrible taste of blue cheese. She gave the vibe she didn't want to be there and you(the customer) was an inconvenience to her. She took my order- that's it! Never got any rolls-had to ask the server for rolls.
