Nope. Nope. Nope. Worst Texas roadhouse I've ever eaten from. As a caveat, I will say that I only did the online ordering from this place and did so on two different occasions, hoping for a different outcome the second time. The better outcome never came. My first order was for a burger cooked medium rare, some fries, a side Caesar salad and a half gallon of sweet tea. The burger was well done, and I mean WELL DONE. Like almost hockey puck type of done. It was almost inedible. The fries were cold and soggy. The tea was fine but there was some kind of sticky mess all over the outside of the bottle and it did not look like tea. It was not a good experience and I did take in the consideration that they seemed extremely busy. So I gave them another shot. The second time around turned out almost exactly the same as the first one. Such a disappointment. It's not likely that I will be back in the Topeka area again, but if I am, I will avoid this place like the plague. read more

The best steakhouse in Topeka ( so far )....... As soon as you are seated, you are given a basket of hot, freshly baked buns and a small container of cinamon butter. The combination of the hot buns and the sweet tasting cinamon butter are to die for. You also are given a bucket of peanuts in the shell. As you eat the peanuts, you get to throw the discarded peanut shells at the waitress.... just kidding, but you do get to throw the peanut shells on the floor. The restaurant is bright, lively, the play country music, and is designed to look like a log cabin. Everything inside is wood based from the tables, the benches at the tables, and the walls. It was a little bit too loud for a restaurant, but still quiet enough that you can hear the person across from you. I ordered the 8oz hand carved sirloin steak, cooked well done as usual, a fully loaded baked potato and a bowl of chilli. The steak was cooked properly, well seasoned, and had 0% fat or gristle, which meant nothing was left on my plate when I finished. If you are not up to eating a steak, they also had ribs and chicken on the menu. If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Called to place a pick up order and was told they can't do take out orders after 8:30pm but we could come in and place the order to go. Ok, we have been driving for 10 hours but not a big deal. We get there and are told they can't do to-go orders after 8:30pm. That's not what we were told when we called at 8:30pm! So we ask if they can order and then get some to go boxes. They had to ask the manager if that would be ok. Can people not take their food home with them at this place? They came back and said the manager let them do the order. It seemed like they just didn't want to bother working. But in the end the food was not good. I also paid for rattlesnake bites and when I checked the bag they weren't there. If I could give a negative to this place, I would. On separate occasions, I've gone and ordered a medium steak and got it well-done. I try to avoid the place like the plague but my wife likes it. I made a reservation on my computer on our Anniversary which said 20-35 minutes before my reservation was ready.. I had a gift card plus my own money to make the dining extra special. I drove to the Roadhouse and drove around several times before someone left. We walk up to the counter and talk to the hostess. After several long minutes and an even longer line behind us, she said she could not find our reservation. I gave her my phone number and everything. She said I should have gotten a text. I had not. This is probably my favorite place to eat in Topeka. Texas Roadhouse is just a masterpiece. The rolls are so delicious and they have the best cinnamon butter. Busy place, even late on Sunday, but we were seated and waited on right away. The food was ok but not spectacular. My wife got the chicken little salad that was suppose to come with eggs and bacon but alas no eggs or bacon. When we inquired we were told they ran out of eggs (so hard boil some more .....) and offered to bring the bacon (half way through). Ordered the Country Fried Steak for pick-up/takeout. We ordered the gravy on the side and was surprised when we opened the box with the "steak". The breading had mostly fallen off and it looked like it had been under a warmer all day. It was tough, dry and leathery. The rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy were the best part of the meal. We were very disappointed in this since it is $12.99. Also order the chicken tenders off the kids menu. Unless your child is only 2 years old, this is not enough food for a child. We've been to a couple of Texas Roadhouse restaurants and they have a super formula and they do it well. This one does not allow peanut shells on the floor - so they have an extra bucket on each table for the shells. Must be a health department rule in Topeka. Very efficient seating, prompt service, delicious rolls with cinnamon butter. My steak was good, but didn't have a lot of flavor. But no complaints! Well, one. They could have a selection of local craft beers - what they have are national brands and nothing special. read more

Its business owners are toxic that block innocent people's I.P. addresses from accessing the restaurant's official website through CloudFlare. It's clear that Texas Roadhouse is run by corporate snobs who think they're better than the "peasants" that pay for their products. In the past, people were able to access Texas Roadhouse's website more easily and get proper customer support serivce. But Texas Roadhouse has become another anti-consumer business that lies through deceptive advertisement and marketing from corporate sellouts. It's getting harder to find American restaurants that treat people with respect and give them what they pay for. Also, pathological greed and class warfare are disguised as inflation through rising prices of products while wages stay stagnant from Texas Roadhouse. So, most people are being underpaid and overworked workers at this point. And of course, corporate overlords that are already insanely wealthy keep tipping around rather than give waitresses livable wages in a respectful manner. read more

We always get excellent service here. We just don't go often because the wait is ridiculously long. Plan on spending an hour for a table. Even if you come right at 5 like we did. Went here with my husband for his office Christmas party. I'd never been before and the place was crazy-busy. The waitress - there was just but one for all 25 or so of us - did FANTASTIC. She got everything right the first time and stayed on top of everything. I was completely impressed. The food was basic chain food - maybe a step up from Applebees or the like. It was good but there wasn't anything notable about it. That being said I ate every last bit of my meal. The rib meat fell of the bone and the sweet potato was gigantic and tender and sweet. My suggestion is to never go to Texas roadhouse with a large party. After being told it would be 45-50 min and then waiting 1hr20 min they crammed 7 adult people into a booth. With one setting in the isle way for everyone to bump into as they passed to go to the bathroom. Roll's were great the salad was great but my country fried sirloin was cooked beyond eating. Another person in my group got ckn fried ckn and got a country fried sirloin cooked the same way mine was. Upon questioning the order the server became rude and short with us. We choose to not reorder and filled up on rolls and salad. Our waitress was fair but I took into consideration that they were very busy. The manager wrote our meal off. But that wasn't really what I was wanting. I wanted good food but wasn't willing to take a chance on it a second time. They really need and extension on the building for large groups to be able to set comfortably at one table and visit. Our group felt like we were packed together and it was very uncomfortable.
