Nathan at Texas Shine is the real deal folks. It's rare to find a one-man wisdom tree when it comes to all things detailing and paint repair. I took my recently bought black BMW X5 in for a rock chip on my tailgate that I unfortunately caused by opening it into my garage door :( The rock chip was about the size of a finger nail. I went to many well rated places all over Austin to get quotes. Most of them wanted to repaint the whole panel, including replacing the BMW emblems. While I understand many paint repair places are looking for perfection, I really wanted to match the scale of the chip with the scale of the repair. Having to repaint the whole panel felt very unenvironmental. Nathan has mastered the art of targeted chip repair. He went through all the steps carefully: finding the right paint match, home-breweing a mix with clear-coat, filling the chip, allowing it to dry over two iterations, sanding it down, then buffing to finish. The results are amazing and definitely worth every penny. On top of that, I am a weekend warrior that does my own hand-washing. So the sheer amount of wisdom I was able to learn from him regarding detailing was amazing. I will definitely be incorporating some of his techniques into my own weekend hobby. I was looking for an authorized installer of CarPro C.Quartz Professional ceramic coating for my new Tesla Model 3 when I came across Nathan Alhades. When I called him, I was impressed by the way he took his time to educate me on the products, and to help me figure out exactly what I needed and why. After a 30-minute conversation, I understood my options a lot better, and decided to meet with Nathan. We then sat down and had an hour-long conversation that allowed me to get to know Nathan, make some decisions, and understand the whole process. Recently had my 2012 Mustang detailed. The results were outstanding. Not only was the exterior like new, the engine compartment looked like I had only driven the car for a few weeks. The glass had no streaks and for the back glass that is no easy task. Nathan was able to remove a few of the scratches on the car and reduced the visibility of a couple of others. Two people in my neighborhood thought I had bought another Mustang. If the ratings allowed I would have given Texas Shine 4-1/2 stars. The 1/2 star deduction would be it took a couple of calls before I was able to make the appointment, and then the appointment was supposed to be between 7:30-8:00AM but he came around 10AM. I understood the reason but I had to contact Nathan to find out what the delay was. Would I use Texas Shine Auto Detailing if a future need arose? The answer would be an easy "yes." read more

I purchased Poly's from Texas Shine for detailing my motorcycle as I take pride in my 1997 Honda Valkyrie which was the very first one purchased in Austin, Texas. (I'd have Texas Shine detail it but it's a hobby/passion for me to tinker with my motorcycle). This product is AMAZING! Motorcycles are subjected to just about every possible element, manmade and Mother Nature produced. Poly's keeps the road dirt, dust, and rain pollutants at bay as it repels about anything that comes into contact with the painted surfaces, chrome and the like. However, I haven't found anything that repels 70 MPH bugs that hit the windshield. LOL I highly recommend Poly's and Texas Shine for any detailing need you might have including your autos, boats, motorcycles, wave runners, and yes...even airplanes! I've recommended a lot of detailers in the past, but I have to write a special review for Nathan and Texas Shine. Like many people, I thought I knew what a good detail looked like. I've had my cars detailed by several different companies with somewhat varying results. I've even done my own work, though I lack the time and materials to really do it correctly. I can see now that I was wrong. I didn't know what I was looking at. Certainly, all the major detailers in town do a great job, far better than the results most people get in their driveway. When you see your car really shined up for the first time in years, it feels magical and you think whoever did the work is the best guy in town. In my new business, I've had the opportunity to work with most of the high level detailers in town. I can tell you now who does a good job, who does a great job, and who just has really good marketing. The differences really can be night and day. Nathan is one of the best I've seen. I've seen cars come back in after a week of driving around that still look better than some cars that were freshly detailed by other guys who get rave reviews. I've watched how he works, and I see the things he gets that others outright miss. I know why he charges what he does, and honestly, for what you get, it's a bargain. That alone would be enough to recommend Nathan, but his professionalism and friendly attitude push him past the "simple recommend" stage. I have yet to find another service that tapes off the top before detailing my car. They like advance appointments, but have been able to accommodate me last minute on more than one occasion.
