I've gone to 2 Texas Winos event now. I've done a bus tour to wineries in the Ft Worth area. The most recent is a wine fest which was nice to be inside during TX heat. There were 4-5 wine tastings from 7 different wineries. I will say these were not the good wineries we usual stop at during the tours. These were more local to Dallas. I didn't really love the wine options that were at this event but still a good experience. There wasn't any food trucks, just 1 vendor serving bread and olive oil. With that much wine I wish there were some food options. But either way i will still partake in any wine tours with the Winos, just because the fest was not the best doesn't mean any of the other events are not. read more

I have been to a couple of events and enjoyed myself immensely. Not crowded,great wineries. The olive oil,cheese and other vendors have some great wares. Richard puts together different wineries for each wine tasting and that right there totally matters. Who wants to give repeat business to an event with the same vendors? Nobody,right? WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! The bus had no AC and was over an hour and a half. They knew that when sending the bus out but failed to care even a remote amount. It was 102 outside so imagine how hot that bus was. On top of that, on the way back the bus broke down and the owner did not even answer the tour guide for over an hour. And there was not going to be any alternate transportation for hours past that. The email from the owner after we all demanded a refund was so cold and he essentially said "oh well things happen and you can 'test' every bus to make it work". Just did my 3rd wine tour with Texas Winos! All 3 times were so much fun!! The 1st tour was Austin to Fredericksburg, the 2nd one was Richardson to Van Alstyne area and the 3rd one was Dallas to Athens. Each tour included 3-4 tastings at each winery and a nice lunch. The bus driver is always amazing, different person each time but they know how to pick the right ones. Two of the tour dates were bad weather with heavy rain and both times I felt safe and still had a blast. The tour guides have also been lots of fun! Ryan was the tour guide on this last tour and he was very kind and patient. I can't wait to do another tour with this company and couldn't recommend them enough!! read more

Richard and the winos always put on a fabulous tasting! This is the 3rd event I've been to hosted by this company, and they are always so fun! I've done both the tours and the stand alone tastings and each time, they are great. You get to sample many different wines, and I love that they are native Texas wines! I also love that they aren't just sweet wines. You really get to see a variety of wine at these tastings. I also love that you get some wine educarion along the way! I have gone to all the texas winos tours leaving out of Dallas, Texas. These tours are one of my top activities in Dallas. From the tour guide to the owner they always treat you like family. It's a GREAT time! The tour guides are so knowledgeable and passionate about wine, you learn so much about Texas wineries and the wine making process. They are well-organized and you have plenty of time to enjoy yourself, without feeling rushed. You get sooo many samples and there's literally something for everyone. Reds, whites, sweet and dry. You get to explore beautiful routes/ sceneries on those bus tours with Texas winos. Overall, I highly recommend this company to anyone who loves wine and wants to learn more about the winemaking process and who loves a good time. It is truly an unforgettable experience. Several tickets for a large group were purchased for an event in Lubbock, TX in June of 2024 and we all received a cancelation due to them unable to secure a venue! We asked multiple times for a full refund or tickets for an event we could attend. Richard gave us all the run around with un met promises. This was my first time taking a tour with them and I wish I had it done it before! What really won me over before our tour was that the company reached out to me to ensure I was the one who charged my card for 2 tours and not someone else- I really loved the fact that they reached out! I needed to switch our tour date, I emailed them & Richard, the owner responded within hours and got us rebooked right away. Our tour guide was David, he was super personable, full of energy throughout our day long tour, took pictures whenever we asked and was so sweet and personable to all of us on our tour. Had a birthday event set on March 30 that was planned weeks in advance. They were extremely nice and accommodating for the most part. I had family drive in for this event and I drove from Houston to attend the tour. The night before they sent an email saying they had to cancel our event due to a medical emergency. I was devastated but I completely understood as I had a sister in the hospital as well. They then said they would either give us refunds or a credit for the event. I stated I wanted a refund and so did everyone in my party. In addition, several people in my party were also upset. So, instead of me celebrating my birthday I was having to reassure family members that they would receive their refund. I had to be pretty persistent to receive my refund but as of today several members of my party have not received theirs. I can't give an honest opinion to how the event might have turned out but I'm sure it would've at least been four stars. With that being said, Richard Wino no longer responds to my families emails or has returned their funds. We were not going to leave any reviews and look past this issue but it's kind of sad at this point. Look to another wine tour as they will steal your money and not contact you back. read more

Let me start by saying the company does not respond to emails when I inquired 3 times. There is also no phone number to contact them with questions. I went on my first tour with TX winos in Austin for my friend's 50th bday in 2018. It was phenomenal. Wines, wineries were great, company, music, tour guide and driver were all great. Fast forward 5 years to today, I bought a wine tour for my sisters for their Christmas present. We scheduled and went on tour. It was absolutely horrible. Whatever you do, DO NOT go on one in Dallas. The bus was crowded due to another driver canceling, wine and wineries were not great(not one wine I would buy), driver of bus wore no seat belt, texted while driving majority of time. Others on the bus played offensive, derogatory music and wanted to fight my sister when we tried to play our music via Bluetooth. I have had this tour in mind for a few friends bdays. Here are my recommendations for the future: TX Winos provides a music Playlist for all tours to avoid offensive, derogatory music being played. Take a private tour ONLY! This means your friends, your fun, your way. TX WInos should ask their drivers to not txt and drive and wear their seat belt and not pack the bus with no room to breathe where people are sitting on the floor. The lunch was supposed to be one thing, but then it was pasta, but ended up being disgusting and my gluten free sister had no meal because they never got back to me. This is unfortunate. TX winos, you let me down! We will never do a Dallas tour again. read more

Do not use Texas Winos!! I have been on 4 tours with them, two of which were great, and two of which were terrible. The last one (June 2023) was the most unprofessional and negative experience I have ever encountered from a business. We booked a private tour for a special occasion. The morning of, we had STRANGERS show up to our HOUSE stating they were there for a wine tour. They showed us an email from the company's owner, Richard, stating our PERSONAL HOME was a pick up location. I went to speak with the driver and he stated there were EVEN MORE people joining us at another pick up location. I emailed Richard to call me immediately, as there is no way to contact Texas Winos via phone. Our driver called Richard and asked what was going on, and Richard told him "tell them I'll refund the difference of a private tour" and that was it. When I jumped on the phone, Richard made every excuse under the sun about why our tour was no longer private: you didn't meet the minimum, a bus broke down, I emailed you, etc. There was ZERO communication about the tour no longer being private, no accountability for his actions, and the fact he GAVE OUT PERSONAL ADDRESS didn't phase him until AFTER I had to bring it to his attention the SEVERITY of it. Richard stated he was going to give us a full refund and one month later, we have yet to hear from him. He has not responded to any of our groups emails. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! I did my first Texas Winos tour almost four years ago by myself and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I wasn't a seasoned wine drinker but wanted an experience and I wanted to learn about wine. I was able to do both. At the time is was a small shuttle and the pours were big. John was an awesome guide. He was knowledgeable and kept the party going between vineyards. After the tour, I attended a few of the wine tasting festivals where I was not only introduced to more vineyards but different restaurants as well. Earlier this year, I did another wine tour and brought a few friends along. I liked the changes I saw this year. The catered lunch and the smaller pours allowed me to actually enjoy all of the wines. My friends enjoyed it and have asked about doing a different wine tour next time. I'm looking forward to the next tour and the upcoming wine festivals. My fiance and I did the Fort Worth to Granbury tour. We had such a great time. The tour guide was super nice, friendly and so was our driver. We were in a smaller bus but we really liked that. We had some great people on the bus that also made the trip even more fun. Just come with an open mind and try to enjoy it all. The lunch stop was very nice and quick too. My husband planned a Texas wine tour as my Valentines gift. I was really excited as I didn't know much about the wineries in North Texas. We were picked up from a location downtown Fort Worth on a coach and were given a wine glass to keep and use for our tasting sessions. In total we visited 3 wineries where we tasted around 5 wines at each location. We also stopped for lunch at a country cafe in the small town of Celina and had a buffet, the food was a good. Unfortunately, we had to pick up and drop off in Dallas and this meant that the day was much longer than planned, it wasn't what I was expecting but we had fun and it was interesting to learn about how the local wine is produced. read more

Super surprised of their rating on here is so high. Considering they have a BBB rating of 1.33 out of 5. 22 complaints in the last 3 years and 7 complaints in the last 12 months. My girlfriends and I booked our wino event for Dallas that was suppose to happen this past weekend 8/28. But Thursday before we get notified it was canceled. They have us the option of doing another tour or getting a refund. We all said refund and none of us have gotten a reply back that it has been started. When I first bought my ticket they double charged me and it took 5 emails and a phone call to get my redound. I called my credit card company this morning and got my money back. Be carful with them. Read come complaints about them on BBB and people have wait 6+ months for a refund and not see it come through. People have also chosen another event when theirs got canceled only to have the second event canceled as well. Something to keep in mind your credit card company will only dispute charges within 60 days. After that your on your own! read more
