You may feel sometimes the wait is longer and killing you but I think that's worth when you know someone is working really hard and diving deep inside the ocean of knowledge to find something exactly fitting to your case in the behind the doors. Terrible experience with the staff here. When I arrived, Stephanie, the Dental Assistant attempted to show me a video about wisdom teeth. I told her I was not there for wisdom teeth and she replied "oh, then what are you here for?" Unprofessional and impersonal for the Dental Assistant to not look over a patient's paperwork before entering the room. A glance would have been the bare minimum. She exited out of the video and went to a screen that contained all of the patients on the schedule including their first & last names and reasons for visiting. She seemed to have trouble navigating the computer functions, so that screen was up for way longer than appropriate. Additionally, before explaining anything about the process she began her initial conversation with me by stating "we have two options. You can be sleep or awake. Usually people come to us because they want to be sleep for the whole thing" What? Sleep or awake for what? We haven't even covered the basics and we're already discussing administering anesthesia. Pretty weird. When she finally looked at my paperwork, she asked about something I'd checked and I told her I was looking into it. She said "so you're experiencing xyz, and you've done nothing about it?" I reiterated that I was looking into it, but I was astounded at her being rude enough to say that to a patient. I saw the surgeon, Christopher, next and he was pleasant to speak to and explained things, but I was already completely turned off by the experience with Stephanie. After speaking with the oral surgeon, I was sent to a room to go over pricing. The entire schedule including patient information was on the computer screen for a good 6-7 minutes while I waited. Someone eventually came by and locked the computer, but patient information had already been visible for a second time now. The icing on the cake is that I hadn't left the office yet after realizing I'd left my umbrella, and overheard Stephanie disparaging me in front of the other assistants. What a gross environment. I would advise against scheduling here and I'm looking into filing a complaint. read more

I had an awesome experience here. I have severe anxiety, particularly about dental stuff. I put off getting my wisdom teeth out for YEARS because I was so anxious about it. But everyone at Texas Wisdom Teeth was so kind, understanding, and supportive of me. The experience ended up actually being really pleasant. I have already recommended them to my friends and family. JP was really sweet and comforting during the day of my surgery and was really helpful during my 2 week post-op checkup. Dr. Brown was funny and personable and made me feel really comfortable about the surgery. There were two women who helped me and I sadly didn't catch their names, but the two women who helped me on the day of my surgery were so sweet and made me feel like I was going to be okay when I was panicking about the surgery. I went under general anesthesia for the surgery and it helped me so much to not be anxious the whole time. They told me when they were starting the IV, then all of a sudden I woke up and everything was done. They took me to my car and were so nice. And Dr. Brown called me that night (the day of surgery) to check on how I was doing, which gave me some peace of mind. I was referred there by my dentist to get my third molars surgically removed. I put it off for so long but was definitely worth every dollar. I paid $1,325 to get my 2 bottom wisdome teeth removed and about $55 for the 3 prescriptions I was given. It may feel pricey but definitely worth it. I was so afraid that day and had so much anxiety about being put to sleep but I literally don't remember a thing. They explain everything so detailed and make sure you understand everything that will be done in your surgery. I'm healing amazingly and the pain isn't as bad as I thought it would be. You definitely get what you pay for and will never have to deal with annoying wisdom teeth ever again so might as well get it over with. I've been putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for years, not only for financial reasons, but out of fear as well. The entire staff and Dr. Brown were incredible. They explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions, even the silly ones! All of the payment options were also explained to me and we were able to get that taken care of the same day of my consultation and schedule my actual surgery a few days later. I came here to have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted and believe me I was scared to death! I chose to go under anesthesia ( I felt that was the only way I would go ahead and do it). I felt as if I was asleep for two minutes. The dental assistant was so informative on telling me every step as to was being done before I went to sleep. Completely unprofessional. Condescending. Talked to me like I was a child and a bad wife to my husband. My husband had an appointment to have a tooth with a cyst pulled scheduled for a Friday at 11 am. We needed to be there at 10:45. He said the surgery would take about 1.5 hours. I had planned to go with him and drive him since he would obviously be put under for the procedure. I also work and had an important conference call scheduled right at 11:00 am. We decided I wouldn't cancel it - I would take my call from the parking lot. No big deal. I did the same thing when he had a colonoscopy without issue. We arrive quite a bit early at 10:25. I let them know I would be on a conference call in my car while he was in surgery at 11 am. My car was on "E" and I figure my husband won't feel like stopping for gas after his procedure so I decide to get gas at the gas station at the corner of the parking lot while he fills out his forms. Remember, we arrived early - my husband isn't even scheduled to be there yet. I pull away and immediately get a call from my husband. They saw me leave and won't proceed with checking him in until I come back. I told him I'm getting gas at the corner. And it isn't even his scheduled arrival time yet - we are 20 minutes early. Nope. I must come back right now they say. I drive back and park. Sat in waiting room with my husband til they took him back at 10:55. They walk me to the other waiting area. I remind them I have an 11:00 meeting and I'm going to sit in my car and take the call because the waiting area has a lot of noise with the TV on and other people in it. I guess because of the gas incident the lady doesn't believe me and thinks I'm really going to go shopping or something. She makes it clear she doesn't believe I'm going to stick around and very condescendingly tells me that this is technically surgery, and I need to be here for my husband and can't be running around. (Offensive!) I told her I would be SITTING IN MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT on a WORK call. She said fine, as long as they can see me from their window. (Seriously? Like I'm a child?). I let her know that they can't actually see my parking spot from their window. The parking lot is huge; their office is small and there isn't a lot of window space. She told me I need to move my car to the spot right in front of their window - she pointed to the handicap spot. (FYI my mom is handicapped and has been in a wheelchair her whole life. As such, able-bodied people parking in handicapped spots is a huge pet peeve of mine. I will move it closer but I will not park in a handicapped spot.) At this point it's right at 11:00. I get in my car and dial in to the conference line barely in time. I plan to move my car once we get through the meeting introductions and I can put my phone on mute and move to another spot. We aren't even through the meeting introductions yet (11:03 am) when my phone starts ringing. THE DENTAL OFFICE IS ALREADY CALLING ME!! I obviously don't answer because I am on a client call - as I told them I would be! At 11:05 I get a text from my husband that says they won't start the surgery until they can see my car. They went back there and told him they can't see my car!! I'M RIGHT IN THE PARKING LOT! I CAN LITERALLY SEE THEIR OFFICE - AND I'M PLANNING TO MOVE MY CAR AS SOON AS I GET THE CHANCE TO PUT MY PHONE ON MUTE!! I apologized to my clients for the interruption and drove my car over to the first non-handicapped spot nearest the window. I guess the front office people saw me. They left me alone for the rest of the 30-minute call. At 12:10, they come out to my car, knock on the window and tell me it's time for me to come inside and review the post-op. I ask if he's out of surgery yet. She says no but then very condescendingly tells me how it's important for me to hear the post-op so I know how to care for my husband. (Yes, I know. We've been married 12 years. This isn't our first day surgery.) They put me back in the same waiting room and haven't said a word to me since. It's now 1:09 pm - almost an hour after they came and got me out of my car. My husband is still in surgery and no one has reviewed post-op anything with me. The doctors may be great (remains to be seen). But the front office folks are rude, condescending, unprofessional and have no respect for other people. read more

I have never had a surgery or anything so the nurses were so sweet and helped me through everything. regarding the surgery, I woke up completely fine and was helped and reassured. I was extremely anxious about getting my wisdom teeth out. I struggle with anxiety and hate medical things. I was nervous about the IV sedation and just the whole procedure, but everyone was very kind and listened to my concerns. The surgery went well with no hiccups! My recovery was painful only because I cannot take the stronger pain meds they gave me. I did the whole thing on ibuprofin and a little Tylenol. I also did a lot of ice and peppermint oil on my jaw and that really helped take the edge off. Had I been able to take the normal pain meds as most patients do, it wouldn't have been nearly as painful so I hear. Overall, everyone was very kind and gracious to me as I was very nervous, and I had no issues at all with the surgery or recovery. I definitely recommend! read more

Wait at Texas Wisdom Teeth associates: Normal Examination: Normal Staff: Polite and informative Problem: Dr. Brown examined my son and discussed sedation options. I told him that I thought is was best to have an anesthesiologist present, and said that it would not be necessary...that he could manage the anesthesia himself. I said great, but recommended that he check with medicaid to see if they would cover an anesthesiologist. He said they would be if not, that he would go with standard IV sedation. We agreed to the plan, and I waited to hear back. When I finally heard back, TWTA told me that medicaid would not cover the anesthesiologies. I said that we know that would probably be the case, so let's schedule the extraction with normal sedation as discussed and planned. The associate told me that Dr. Brown had changed his mind and would not perform the surgery without an anesthesiologist. The purpose of a consultation prior to surgery is to discuss all aspects of care and agree to a plan. When a doctor or dentist changes his/her mind after the consultation, I should have been called shortly after the consultation to discuss the change of plan. I should not have to wait for 2-3 week later to hear about it. That is 2-3 weeks I could have been finding a new oral surgeon for my son. I try to be respectful of other people's time. Dr. Brown was not respectful of mine. I will never refer anyone to Texas Wisdom Teeth Associates because of this. read more

Like most people, I finally stopped putting off getting my tooth worked on and I am very glad that I did. I found the staff extremely helpful and patient, and they did not try to push me into doing any kind of procedure or expense that I didn't want. Dr. Cam - as he likes to be called - extracted my bad root canal in about 20 minutes while I was under local anesthesia. Honestly, it was scary when he pulled the tooth but it did not hurt very much. I am on day 2 and I have taken only 3 ibuprofen today, and it does not hurt at all. Dr Cam text me this morning to make sure things are OK. I had 3 implants there and one failed. The office never acknowledged the compensation for that failed implant, in spite the fact that they should have based on the agreement I signed in the beginning. They used any kind of excuse to get ride of me and finally came up with "The business is sold out to another surgeon and now we are not responsible for what happened before". BUT based on the business law they are. Finally I needed to pay it out off pocket with another surgeon because my insurance did not accept covering a new implant within 8 months. read more

Had all four wisdom teeth removed. The surgery itself was fine. My biggest complaint is their sketchy insurance workings. Only one of their providers is contracted with my insurance, and having given them my insurance information, I expected them to assign me to that provider. My left lower molar tooth cracked at the root which was very painful, so I sought out Dr. Christopher Bao Brown. He first extracted my damaged tooth and called me after the extraction to see how I was feeling the same day. He was amazingly caring, knowledgeable, and professional and walked me through the dental implant procedure and answered all my questions concerning the time of the surgery and the healing process. After 3 months of gum healing, I went back to get a dental implant posted in my gum by him. The day of the surgery I was pretty nervous about the procedure and he calmed me down and assured me the success rate is high. The surgery only lasted about 35 minutes and I just bled a little afterwards. He called to check how I was doing that same evening after I went home to rest. My implant healed very nicely and after another 3 months, he double checked my implant post and told my dentist that I was ready to have a crown put on the post. I feel very happy, because now I can eat, chew, and bite food with my new tooth. I am very impressed with Dr. Brown and highly recommend him as an oral surgeon. read more
