Wow! First time being here and I was nothing but impressed! My boyfriend and I walked in and we were greeted with smiling faces! One of the ladies who greeted us, had explained the menu, told us what she liked and was extremely friendly. I got the baked potato with the works (butter, sour cream, cheese, and shredded brisket). It was a huge baked potato! Very decent price as well. He had the pull pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, and for dessert of the day was a chocolate cobbler! Best BBQ in Oklahoma. The pulled pork was amazing and the meat on the ribs fell of the bones. Definitely will make a trip back.

When you get it fresh off the smoker, it's likely the best in the metro. Hoping they get busier so they can be more consistent with their food readiness and timing. Also hoping they don't get too busy - so we can still get in easy lol. PS. When they have burnt ends, get them! Terrific. read more

I was disappointed. I had the baked potato with chopped brisket. They claimed my first potato fell apart and had to redo it. The second was good, big and had a lot of brisket but mostly fat. It was almost like they trimmed the fat and kept it for the potatoes. The sauce didn't have the boldness and richness I like. It was sweet but thin. The service was slow to non-existent. I finally got tired of waiting for the waitress to ask for more butter and sour cream that I simply decided to cut my losses and leave. I had a lot of hope for this place and hope your experience is better. read more

On Monday they don't serve a full menu, but told us what they had. I had ribs (baby back), fried okra and salad. Ribs were small, but meaty. I had plenty to eat. Would have liked some bread with the meal. But the quality and taste were spot on. read more

When Texlahoma first opened, my wife and I heard great things about it so we had to go and give it a try. Our experience was AWFUL! Food was not good and literally waited nearly 45 minutes for it to be served. There were people left and right cancelling their orders because of the service. Not once did they apologize to anyone or offer a reason. Fast forward about a year, and we gave it another try. I am a huge fan of barbecue and cook it myself often on my big green egg. Having had some of the best barbecue in the country from Texas, Memphis, and Kansas City, I am very picky and critical of the taste. I ordered sliced brisket and ribs. The sliced brisket was cooked perfectly with a nice smoke ring and would bend over my finger without breaking. When pulled, it took little effort but still had enough to hold together showing it was not over cooked. The ribs did not just fall of the bone (I don't understand why people like their ribs to fall off the bone when you pick them up. That means they are extremely over cooked and it is just gross to me) but had just enough bite to them with some pretty good flavor. I also got the fried okra and potato salad which was a huge let down. Not really a salad but more like mashed potatoes with some salad flavoring. All in all, it was pretty dang good for Oklahoma barbecue and probably some of the better I have had here. Would recommend and will be back. read more

I just finished my first visit at Texlahoma BBQ. I got a selection of meats and took it home to go. First off was the beef rib. It was pretty good, but a bit chewy. Good flavor though. 4 stars out of 5. The beef brisket, both sliced and chopped. Great smoky flavor, nice ring. I'm a certified bbq judge and if this was a sanctioned event the brisket would have been scored down for being over cooked, as it was fall apart tender. Fortunately we're not at a contest and eating some very, very good brisket. Great bark and flavor. If I could make one recommendation it would be to carve the fat cap off the sliced before serving. I understand why some cooks prefer to leave it on during smoking, but there's no need to serve it. 5/5 stars. Pork ribs were also a bit overcooked, as in falling off the bone, but tender and meaty nonetheless. Again remove the membrane from the back of the rib (personal preference). 4/5 stars. Sausage, both mild and jalapeno, were both pretty tasty. I couldn't tell if they make their own or have them brought in. More of a Texas style. 5/5 stars. The sauce, well to be fair I am NOT a fan of any BBQ sauce that is sweet. The sauce at Texlahoma is sweet, but not OMG sweet like many others that I have tried. I simply prefer a little more zestier, tart flavor. Not going to rate it due to my dislike for most BBQ sauce anyway. Let the flavor of the meat speak for itself. Overall they have done that at Texlahoma. The meats were tender, not overly smoky, and had a very nice bark. I would rank it 4 3/4 stars but Yelp wont let me. Definitely going back for another visit. Hopefully I can rate my next visit a full 5. Must try BBQ folks! read more

Food is good, but customer service is lacking! Decided to try this place, after rave reviews from a friend. So thought we would try take out tonight. I called in the order-- ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, 1 daily special & 2 pulled pork sandwiches. When I picked up the order, the lady handed me my bag and repeated my order-- only to read off half of the order and finished it with Bla, bla, bla (yes, she actually said bla, bla, bla). Wouldn't think much about it, although they shorted me one sandwich. I went back to the counter and told them of the mistake and what I wanted. I had to repeat it back to them 3 times and 3 employees were standing there. They told me that was not what I ordered and Did not pay for the extra sandwich. I said I would pay for it, I just needed the extra sandwich. As I was waiting for my order, I asked if I could please have some BBQ sauce to go with my sandwiches. She just looked at me and said "you have some in your bag." I showed her my bag to show her that I was missing that as well. I finally paid for my other sandwich and said thank you. I was beside myself that they acted as though I was an inconvenience to them and didn't even apologize for taking my order down wrong or for my troubles. I would of given them a little more grace, if they were busy, but I was the only person in the restaurant. Not sure if we will be back. read more
