Absolutely unacceptable. During the men's league hockey games, a group of strippers was brought into the facility, and it was completely inappropriate. Our children attend gymnastics here, and to have strippers present for a men's hockey league is beyond shocking. My daughter even asked me who they were, and I was horrified. Parents, this is not the environment we want for our kids, and it's certainly not the behavior we want them exposed to. This is completely inappropriate and extremely concerning. read more

Was told per the site that Adult Hockey is welcome to anyone. I guess not. Had to show up to the facility after spending money on hockey registration just to show up on a Saturday to watch the games taken place at that same time but was told by the person running the joint that I could join. Either way the lack of response plus the facility itself says enough for me. It's not like I'm a newbie that can't skate when Indeed, I can out pace and skate laps around all the beginners. Ive been skating since I was 9 and I'm 30 now. But It's places like this that makes it evident that there is a lack of community. And I was hoping to learn and grow through the hockey community here but I'm glad my time won't be wasted by an organization such as this one. read more

We've been taking lessons here for two seven week classes. And we signed up for our third session. My son and I have developed a love of ice skating. He has leveled up each time (intro, pre-alpha, and aloha). He's going to start taking hockey lessons soon as well. I'm in the adult class. It's a huge class. I wish it was broken up into smaller classes like the kids. I'm retaking the adult class a third time. I'm hoping to continue to improve. But the classes are so big and you can't get as much feedback. Wear comfortable and warm clothes. It's chilly inside. We dress in layers and wear a bike helmet. I've seen some adults fall hard and injure themselves and get a concussions. You may feel silly with the helmet but it's reassuring. We also really enjoy the open skate sessions. I wish they offered more of those but it's limited due to the other programming and being the site where the Bolts practice. It's a fun and welcoming environment for all ages to take classes. I have enjoyed it so much I bought my first pair of ice skates. My feet are so appreciative!! The rental skates are brutal on your feet. My son will get his first pair when he starts the Learn to Play program in a few weeks. read more

I've been playing beer league adult hockey at the rink for a couple of seasons now. It's a lot of fun and I have no complaints. Wes is a real pro running the league and a great guy. Same goes for the refs. All ages are welcome, most of the guys on my team are in their 40's and 50's. Plus it's kinda cool playing on the TB Lightning practice ice... even ThunderBug stops by once in a while. read more

Before today, I'd never ice skated! But I went today with my girlfriend and we had SUCH A BLAST! $10/person for freestyle skating from 1145-1300. And trust me, that's ENOUGH TIME! This is a nice place to skate or play hockey. They have several leagues of varying levels. The rinks are well maintained. There is very limited open skating time because they do so many hockey leagues. There is a well stocked skate shop on premise. The employees there are polite and very helpful. Prices are probably reasonable for bring a brick and mortar store. There is also a grill as well as a separate spots bar. I haven't been to the bar, but the grill has basic food and drinks, including hot chocolate for when you need to keep your fingers warm from the sidelines. read more

My 6 years old daughter and I went to the public ice skating time on Saturday. We really enjoyed ice skating. The rink had several staff available for people that needed assistance. They had current popular music on which is great for the kiddos. I do think that the time for public skating is only one and a half hour which is way too short. Also they should offer annual tickets or so we can skate more often instead of paying almost $30 for two people each time including the skate rentals. read more

Nice arena. Clean, organized and ice is quite suitable for hockey. It's a bit of a hike from Tampa but worth the drive. Lightning practices here and they keep it up! It shows! Washrooms were impeccably clean for a public place. It's really the best arena next to Wesley Chapel. They also have another Rink Side pro shop that is phenomenal. The customer service is top notch. They treat you like gold. Sharpening was excellent. Great selection of hockey gear. Wish I could play here every day. read more

Dear Ice Sports Forum Brandon, You were the preferred venue for my son's birthday party. Were is the key word. First issue was I didn't feel very welcome during my first visit to the facility. I explained to Amy why I was there and asked to see the party space. She pointed to a few different areas from the front desk and told me where I could go. I clarified and then went to investigate once I realized she was not going to offer to show me the space. Of course there was another staff person at the desk so she easily could have escorted me and answered questions. Upon leaving I asked if there was any literature on parties and she handed me a flyer. Knowing my reason for visiting why wasn't this offered in the first place? Since my initial visit I have called and emailed the contact person on the flyer, Doreen, no less than two times via phone and email and still no response. Over the weekend I realized the Ice Forum isn't preferred at all. It's just a venue with a couple of employees in dire need of customer service training. In April we visited Florida Hospital Center Ice for a birthday party and it was great. The next time we have a desire to kick ice, we will drive 30 miles to Wesley Chapel. We went here for the laser tag which was actually quite good. Obviously, the main attraction is ice skating or hockey and I'm looking forward to getting back on the ice for my next visit. The laser tag is one of the better setups in the Tampa area. The equipment works well and the arena has monitors to help you keep track of your score. It is only one level but is still better than the rest of the establishments in the area. Price is also very reasonable and on some days you can buy unlimited play passes. read more

My friends and I came here for my friend's 18th birthday, we had a really good time there. The price was alright, we were a small group after all. The place was pretty big inside and even had laser tag upstairs. The ice skating rink was nice and big, the music played well and even though some of my friends fell a million times on their butts, we laughed it off and all had a really good time. They kept the ice skating rink cleaned and would resurface it every once in awhile during our stay. Little kids were like torpedos shooting at you. Their ice skating shoes smelled bad, but fit well and tight so I felt comfortable skating quickly around the rink. I enjoyed it and it was close to my house, I would certainly go again. read more

They also have different learning clinics such as, learn to skate, hockey 101 and other ice skating for all ages on Friday evenings. Inside you'll find a hockey store, laser tag, 2 ice rinks and a Full Bar with food. What's not to love. There is literally something for all the members of the family. read more

Really like this place, my kids absolutely love it. Public skate, ice hockey, skating lessons, skill practice, excellent pro shop. The cafe is great food and I was really surprised. It took me awhile to even try it & when I finally did, I keep coming back for more! They have a small sports bar/restaurant as well & it's generally busy. Everyone here is super nice & the guys in the pro shop are great! Yes, things are pricey but what isn't. I have been taking figure skating classes here and it has been an awesome experience! The instructors are very helpful and supportive. Public skating is only an hour and fifteen minutes which I believe is a little short but understandable due to how much activity they have going on there with hockey and other things. Their learn to skate classes are forty-five minutes long which seems to be longer than the other ice rink learn to skate times that I've seen around other rinks. Their skates are really nice and good quality, the ice has been in pretty great quality every time I went for public skating, apart from one night where the ice could have used a ice resurfacer pretty bad. The music is good, I like that they play a variety of genres. The Rinkside Sports staff is super helpful and polite, I do believe their figure skating section could be stocked up a bit more, but overall great service. Parking can be a bit tight on some of their busier public skate nights; however, I've always been able to find a spot around the back so I do not have any complaints with parking. I would definitely go if you're looking for a good time skating. read more

As a big fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning, I've been coming to the Ice Sports Forum for years to take in training camps and practice sessions. It was always easy to find with plenty of room and amenities. This summer I decided to stop watching and put on some skates for myself. I enrolled in the Adult Learn to Skate classes and am nearing the end of the 8 week session. I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful staff at the rink. I am a novice, but they have made sure there is always there to help instruct me during my lessons. I thought I would be self conscious about my lack of skills, but the instructors (a number who are volunteers) are encouraging. I continue to have excellent experiences here. I'm going to go back for more skating lessons to keep learning at this great venue. read more

Definitely the best rink in the greater Tampa area. I'm in a men's league here and love it. Not only is it really close to my apartment, but the ice is high quality and the pro shop is top notch. The bar is solid and shows a lot of hockey. My only complaint is their infrequent pick-up schedule. Usually only four a month - half of which are for 30+, all of which are during the week during the work day. For the time being I'm stuck driving to Oldsmar or Ellenton unless I have a game. read more

I believe that the Ice Sports Forum provides a terrific opportunity for the kids in the Martial Arts & Sports Summer Camp at Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Center (http://www.sidekicks.me) to have fun and enjoy a variety of experiences (ice skating and laser tag). The staff is courteous on the front desk and when booking, fitting our schedule, and staying within our budget. Let me start off by saying this is the worst rink ever created. They only care about the business aspect of it. Only want your money and never listen to customer ideas. I have asked numerous times why they don't offer ice time for ages under 30. They offer adult pickups during the week but start time is 12 30pm and they always seem to be cancelled. Idk what who the fuck runs the place but who can play hockey during the week at 12 30pm. Unless you're retired then you're most likely not going to be playing.Bunch of idiots who schedule these times. I've asked numerous times why they don't schedule something more convenient and I get some bullshit response like "all the ice time available is taken". I've been here some days around 4pm and nothing is going on for at least a couple hours. If you're older than 30 and play hockey in the Brandon area this rink might be for you, personally still wouldn't go if I was that age. Staff are mediocre and the owner never shows his face cause he doesn't care about the people who support his business. If you love the sport of hockey or are just interested in starting to play go somewhere else cause this place is not worth the time or money. Been coming here for the past ten years and I wish I could play somewhere else but there is unfortunately no other rinks close by. Seriously don't waste your time with this shit hole. read more

We come here since my fiance' plays hockey! So I've never experienced anything other than the evening hockey games. The barfood is decent and decently priced. The bartenders, well, it depends on who's there ... but it's a great place to watch sports and have a drink and greasy foods! read more

I went here a great deal in high school as my school's hockey team played here. There are two rinks and the left one is always either a high school or recreational team playing or practicing. I believe that the classes in skating and hockey offered by the forum take place in that rink as well. The rink on the right is for public skating sessions typically. I enjoy ice skating but am a little iffy at it still so my main downer is that its a bit too crowded on weekends if you're not a sure footed skater. There's often children and teens zipping by at high speed and not watching where they are going so you're liable to get knocked down if you're not careful. I tend to skate close to but not against the wall to avoid this the best. The rental skates are in reasonable shape. I've never had a problem with them being smelly as Carlos complained of. Maybe girl skates are better kept up! Lol. The ice is cleaned up and smoothed out by the Zamboni once or twice during a skating session of 2-3 hours. If you keep an eye out in the clipper magazines and other coupon publications they do put out coupons for buy one get one admissions to public skating and I believe discounts on the laser tag upstairs and the various lessons and classes. There is a small snack bar that serves reasonable food. I can't recall the fairness of the prices. There's also a store touting hockey gear inside and I have also seen sports memorabilia sold here for charity a couple times. read more

Laser tag: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE So my young daughter and I went for the public skate yesterday, but it was over: so okay we decided to check out the laser tag upstairs. I am someone who likes their skating, even did daughter's last birthday here, for large group. SO DISAPPOINTED in this visit. The teenage boy and girl working upstairs. Laser Tag, seemed polite and cordial. The cost $7 each, $14 for two 5 minute rounds: okay we are talking expensive but okay. To the point- my daughter's equipment was NOT working properly, NO SOUND, which if you have played before, you understand this is a BIG PART OF THE EXPERIENCE, tells you when you can shoot, when to hide, cool laser gun sounds, high scorer, good shot etc etc. The staff was non chalant and exercised an ABSOLUTE SUB PAR LEVEL OF TRAINING in CUSTOMER SERVICE. After round 1 I realized the problem, and brought to staff attention: he checked and said "okay it is fine" silly me thinking he corrected the issue; brought back to his attention, staff comment "It was keeping score, right?" remarked the young man. I politely asked for the re-play so we could get what we paid for: "it kept score, so it worked.., I cannot provide re-play, you must go downstairs": okay, down I go figuring easy fix, well, the young lady working says, "they called down and said it kept score so there was no problem..": ALSO DEMONSTRATING A LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING; she was completely unfamiliar with how Laser Tag worked or should work: no apology from anyone, disregard for any waste of my family time- I re-explained and pursued a remedy, the non chalant result "you can play again the next game, (in another almost 30 min wait to the fixed start time)". I did not want to escalate further and possibly upset my daughter, as well as I was frustrated, even though was an appropriate time to tell them "I apologize for choosing the Ice Emporium today, I will not make that mistake again". read more

Great facility very clean. Staff is friendly. I have skated in all the skating rinks in the Tampa Bay area and this one is the best. Their power play grill and sports bar is great . A wide selection of good food and beer. The pro shop has every thing you need for hockey and figure skating very knowledgeable staff and friendly. read more

When we arrived at the rink, the lady at the front desk rudely told us that the open skate was closed for today. The website was not updated and she said that they changed the schedule at the last minute. Many other customers that came in for the same reason were all turned away. For our inconvenience due to the rinks incompetence, we should at the very least have been offered free open skate passes.
