This is the best Thai food we have ever eaten. We visited the restaurant twice during our visit to Destin!! Their appetizers are delicious. The Crab Rangoon filling is creamy and contains the perfect amount of crab, and the outside was crispy. The gyoza is crispy outside and moist inside with a delicious filling. Their wonton soup broth is tasty and the dumplings are good inside and out. Their rice dishes are fantastic with large portions. We tried the basil and curry fried rice plates. The Panang Curry was the best we've ever had -- creamy and tasty with a delicious coconut flavor. Their glass noodle and pad Thai dishes were also excellent. Finally, their Thai tea is very tasty. We had a party of 7 + a baby for dinner at 7 pm on Thursday, 6/20/24. There was no wait and we were seated right away. They had a high chair for the baby! When we left around 8 pm, it had gotten more crowded. We split a few appetizers and each got our own entree and it was more than enough food. Here's what we got: - Edamame ($6.24): Came out steaming! The owners are fabulous. The food is absolutely amazing and my favorite is the chicken pad Thai. The noodles are just delicious and the flavor AWESOME! This was a very pleasant surprise during our trip to Destin. We went on a Wednesday night. We were the only ones there but I am sure this was not a reflection of their food. The food was amazing! We got appetizers including chicken wings, grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp, shrimp rolls and they were all awesome. First, let me say, I love Thai food and try to frequent Thai restaurants when I am traveling. This was the first time that I have ever experienced in any restaurant that they put a mandatory 10% on top of the total bill for takeout. I have never heard of such a thing. We had several of the Panang dishes, the Thai fried rice, a couple different soups, and the Pad Thai. All were just OK. Nothing stood out as being great. Crab rangoon was really good but our main meals which were two chicken pad thai they were pretty horrible i wouldn't get it if i were you. I don't often get takeout but when i do it's always thai food i have tried many places pad thai and this is probably some of the worst i tried. The pad thai noodles were mushy almost like this ramen noodles. for $60 i think i will pass on this place next time, or maybe just get an order of crab rangoon. read more

Staff 5 out of 5 - The owners them selves are the hosts and also the cooks! They are very friendly and polite. The environment with them is very welcoming and you never feel rushed. Food 5 out of 5 - so let's cover what we had. For starters we had the fried Calamari, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon. All amazing and they don't feel heavy. We had the Tom ka soup. This I will always come back for more! Has that authentic flavor so you know it's legit! We then had the Basil fish that was a large fried tilapia bigger than a plate that makes you salivate just thinking about it. And finally the mussels! Very friendly Thai restaurant with a very good selection of food. Service was prompt and friendly and the menu was pretty extensive. Food was ok. We had the Volcano Shrimp and the Roti to start. Volcano shrimp were fried well, but sauce was a bit tasteless. Roti was much better. For our mains, we had Yellow Curry with vegetables and Sweet Chili Crispy Chicken. The yellow curry sauce was very good, but there were hardly any vegetables - five pieces of carrot, two broccoli, and two pieces of pineapple with some onion. It was really like a soup with some vegetables. The Sweet Chili Chicken was a pass for me - chicken was really deep friend, almost hard pieces. The chili sauce was good. I'll give this four stars based on the friendly staff and we had a few recommendations to try the place from friends. We may try again in a few months. read more

Oh man....what a find!!! While in town on vacation, we wanted a break away from the typical "beach food" for a night and enjoy Thai food, so we decided to try Thai 9. It was one of the better tasting Thai restaurants I have been to in years! The Panang curry is amazing. The drunken noodles were great and teriyaki chicken was cooked to perfection. We also had the Thai veggie spring rolls and the roti (which was not on the menu, but I heard about it while reading reviews). Both apps were great, but that roti was amazing! They were fresh and tasty. I had the pad Thai with chicken. It was served hot and fresh, however, it was nothing special in terms of wow factor. They have varying spice levels which ARE accurate. I almost went with the double Thai hot but the Thai hot is plenty hot. Service was very friendly and the accuracy on the spice level is why I went to the 4 from the 3 so if those aren't as important, this place is a nice Thai spot to stop at, but you won't miss anything if you don't get to go. Super sad about giving this review. We were so excited for our last meal on our trip to be good. But it must be done, the truth must be told, I'm sorry. We go in and got greeted, no problem there. We sit down and this just ain't it chief. Finally after 10-15 minute literally, we order. Obviously we wait for the food to be cooked. We waited another 30+ minutes. We waited about 40-50 minutes from start to getting the food on the table. My friends ordered a noodle dish with tofu. Every single bite they took, I watched their faces and it wasn't good. The tofu was spongy and overcooked and the overall flavors of the dish were so bad. My nephew got pineapple fried rice covered with soy and that's all it tasted like and it did. I got the garlic pepper dish and it was so so salty I feel bloated and overall nothing good. My family and I went on vacation to Destin, FL and just stumbled upon this restaurant. The outside it seems small, but once you walk in...wow. Beautifully styled and very inviting. The waitress was incredibly nice and helpful with suggestions for appetizers. We ended up choosing the shrimp spring rolls....DELICIOUS! Needed something different from the traditional Destin lunch fare so decided to go on a mini and close to home food adventure. Thai 9 has great Yelp reviews and fit the bill. We showed up about 1:15 pm and they close at 2:30 pm for an afternoon intermission, reopening around 4. I guess this is the reason no one else was in the restaurant but its a small place, electronic menu set up and fairly extensive menu. We started with hot tea which was fresh and very good. My wife did two apps as her meal, spring rolls and chicken lettuce wraps, both were light, very fresh and delicious. I decided to try the chicken Pad Pahk which again was very flavorable, fresh and a perfect portion size. Fanfreakingtastic! Honestly the best Thai we've ever eaten! When you see "no refunds or returns" on their Thai hot, you know it's going to be spicy and awesome ! We have eaten Thai all over the world including Thailand and this is probably the closest we've ever had to authentic. My husband is always very disappointed in Thai food in the states because he'll ask for Thai hot and it's typically not hot at all. However their Thai hot, again no refunds no returns, is really hot!!! Huge portion sizes, excellent protein, fresh vegetables, and the flavors are spot on! The place is clean with upbeat music. It was empty, which I'm so surprised by- this place deserves to be packed!
