Absolutely delicious Thai takeout here in Santa Rosa Beach! The Red Curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced! The Pad Thai had great flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had good amount of chicken in it. Their Pad Thai ranks up there with some of the best I have ever had. We tried the crab rangoons and fresh roll. Crab rangoons were fried up crispy with yummy cheesy filling. Fresh roll was filled with crisp lettuce and shrimp. It came with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Went there with family on Christmas Day. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Food was overall excellent. Tried the feed rolls appetizer. Very light and fresh with tasty rich peanut dipping sauce. The tom kha soup served with rice bowls so can pour it over the rice. Little different but goes well Good portions. We loved all entrees we ordered. The pad Thai, Penang curry with chicken, massaman chicken and the sweet and soar beef. When I was in Thailand ... If you want the best Thai here in America you go here. If you want a pretty beach view while you eat then no! But I know you are creative and can bring those together. I live here and love food. Especially Thai. We surprisingly do have several good Thai restaurants in our area. There may be a dish or 2 I prefer more at others but overall Elephant Thai does authentic wonders for my taste buds more than any. Oh and my favorite is the red curry. NO ONE DOES IT BETTER! I did deduct 1 star simply because the restaurant ambience... it's more like a diner. But this place is way better than where you would sit in Thailand for delicious food like this. read more

Really wish I could give this place 5 stars but a few picky things knocks it down to 4. I did doordash from them yesterday, and I'm staying in a hotel nearby. The food was really, really good. I was excited when I saw they had mango sticky rice, as it's hard to find in Detroit (my area) usually. I also ordered a ginger chicken dish. The dish was spicier than Mild, as I had ordered, but was tasty. The mango sticky rice was the best I've had in a long time - super authentic and lots of coconut milk. However ... They did not include cutlery with my order. Which is a major problem, since I'm staying in a hotel, and they should have seen that based on the address. I had to hunt some down from housekeeping / room service and it took a while. The other issue is that Doordash quoted me like 50-60 minutes from them and it took more like 80-90. Luckily I wasn't super hangry by then. Overall though this was really good food. So I'd definitely stop by, but not sure I'd do doordash again. read more

Arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon for a party of four with a large takeout order guy would not let us stay at restaurant to dine in at 2:30 so they were closing at three and only could put in a to go order so we didn't put our order lists out on a big order $$$ not dinning at 2:30 we only did our to go order aggravated and frustrated. Never had a restaurant turn you away 30 minutes before they close when even the to go, food came out in five minutes so they could've accommodated us and let us ate there!!!!! This is the fifth time I've had takeout food here. The food is average at best lacking the typical complex flavors of Thai cuisine. The Tom Kha soup lacked the tart citrus flavors that you normally experience with this soup. It was lacking lemongrass, cilantro and/or lime juice that gives the soup the slight tartness and complexity offsetting the sweetness of the coconut milk. The Basil Beef was short on both beef and basil. This was especially disappointing considering they charge an extra $3 for beef. BUYER BEWARE!!! The prices show on their website menu are significantly less than what they actually charge. Tom Kha soup is priced at $12.95 on their online menu but I was charged $15.70. Basil Beef is priced at $11.95 but I was charged $15.70 + $3.00 ($18.70) for adding beef instead of chicken or pork. On top of that they have a small (1"x3") sign at the register indicating they add a 15% mandatory gratuity for takeout without providing an itemized bill. We were hungry so we paid, took our food and left. 15% for takeout service. Really? I will make another restaurant choice in the future. Perhaps Siam or Thai Chiangmai Rai next time. read more

A local recommended this to us. It is mom & pop Asian typical to small strip centers so don't go for the ambiance. Ordered at table and waiter was very attentive. Authentic Thai food served with a smile. I had lunch special Red Thai shrimp curry and my friend had sweet & sour shrimp. Both were excellent. Piping hot spring rolls (included with lunch special) were served before we even ordered. The chef/owner came to our table and visited with us. I've been coming here for several years and have not eaten here in a while, I had the red curry beef and shrimp and the Tom Yum Yum soup with shrimp and it did not disappoint, the service is always friendly and fast. The atmosphere is peaceful and seating is plentiful, never too crowded. Take out food is ok but they add 15% gratuity to all orders for take out. Of course, they don't show you the itemized check when you sign the credit card receipt. Any business that decides this is ok loses me as a customer. So I go to my other neighbor Thai restaurant that isn't so deceptive at check out, or buck up and cook at home. We went to Thai Elephant for lunch today, our first time. We were looking forward to eating good Thai food. I ordered Pad Pak - stir fried vegetables in brown sauce and add your choice of meat. My husband ordered Pepper Steak. What I got was wilted vegetables, with a few small slices of pork in runny, soupy water. It looked like someone ran out of something decent to cook and simply threw together what he could find in the fridge into a skillet, add a few pork pieces, salt and water. THERE WAS NOTHING THAI TO IT! My husband's pepper steak was nothing close to the Pepper Steak we know. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!We will not be back nor recommend this place to our friends. read more

As a local, my husband and I really don't go out much during spring break and summer season. Didn't want to cook tonight so we decided on Thai Elephant where we've had numerous great meals. Didn't disappoint!!! Absolutely love the fried spring rolls, both pork and veggie, we had pork tonight. Shared the house salad w/ homemade peanut dressing ( I could drink it by the gallon), I had the glass noodle stir fry with carrots, mushrooms, celery, cabbage, onions, and topped w cilantro. First time ordering it!! Absolutely out of the ballpark! I love spicy so I added the Thai chili peppers in their special vinegar sauce w lots of the pepper. Really kicked up the flavor and heat. Hubs ordered Pad and broccoli, he's the heat king so added almost all the chili garlic sauce from the condiment carousel brought to the table. We both had leftover but didn't feel stuffed or sluggish from the meal. Service was prompt, efficient and the food came out hot and at the appropriate time as we ate our app and salad. Only minor hiccup would be that the server follow up on refills on drinks. Also, they have an ad in the local free paper for 10% off. I asked about a local discount and even said I forgot to bring my paper discount. Was told ,"no we don't give a local discount". To the owners- please give us locals a discount!! We love this place, and eat here almost weekly. The staff is great, the food is great & the portions are reasonable. We alway get Drunken noodle, pad Thai, red curry w/ chicken & chicken satay. We end it with a boba. The restaurant is small, but we really prefer that. It is clean but not so fancy that we feel bad if we come in wearing sweats lol. The food here is authentically Thai. It made us feel better when we saw the person cooking in the kitchen was actually Thai. The food was flavorful. You can taste the spice. I love spicy food and this met my standards. The restaurant itself wasn't the most attractive in design or layout; almost like a hole in the wall; but at the end of the day, it's the food that matters. We were also impressed and felt more comfortable with the social distancing and sanitary way the restaurant and staff conducted and served, other restaurants locally were not following that and it made us feel uneasy. read more
