Had a pretty good meal from here, tried their wok fried chicken and broccoli, egg drop soup and egg rolls. The egg rolls were fried great and had good flavor, the broccoli and chicken was super juicy almost in a soup broth, cooked well and really nice flavors, medium heat had low spice but helped the flavor nicely. The egg drop soup was good, a little sweet for me but still good and had lots of egg and scallions in it. Worth a try. read more

We found ourselves another excellent Thai restaurant in FWB. We have been there three times in one week. And we usually try not to eat out more than once a week. The first time the waitress was exceptional and asked us if we wanted chop sticks, which we did. The second time was around 4:30 on New Years Eve. They were closing early that night for a private party. There was only one waitress and service was slower but still exceptable. 3rd time had the same sweet waitress (Jam) as the first time. They seem to get as many takeout orders as sit in and the bar was full-all seats taken. Here is the food review: Appetizers: Bang Bang Chicken is lightly breaded with an amazing sauce. We have ordered this twice. Gyoza is a fried dumpling. We had ordered these the second time we were here because they were out of the steamed pork dumplings. They are good but we prefer the steamed pork dumplings which we have had twice. Their sauce is awesome. On our 3rd visit we wanted to try something different and ordered the seafood wonton. We are happy we did because they were the best we have ever had. The wonton is light and crispy with ample filling of seafood and cream cheese. Mains: Grilled Chicken sandwich-light and tasty with a side of cole slaw just like grandma made and lightly breaded onion rings that were not greasy. Delicious. SuKiYaKi Noodle Soup- had this with chicken and spice level hot. The soup is mild but the hit level is very spicy. Pad Thai- one chicken and two combos were tried. I order the medium level which is plenty spicy for me. My husband orders hot and sometimes it is a tad spicer than other restaurants we have tried. They even have a Thai hot and one more level. The Pad Thai was delicious on all accounts and a step above to other places we have tried. Drunken noodle-a delicious meal Pepper steak: Was delicious even without the peppers. After a few bites I noticed that there were not any sweet peppers in the dish. I mentioned it to the waitress and she came back with a bowel of stir fried peppers to add to my dish. The beef was tender and good quality. Yellow Curry-this dish was enjoyed and the blend of coconut and pineapple was delicious. We have also enjoyed the iced Thai tea. We believe we have found our fave Thai restaurant. It is similar to our previous fave in food but this restaurant has a better ambience. read more

The food was amazing! The yellow chicken curry was the best I've ever had. Also the tom yum is sooo good! The staff were incredibly kind, sweet, and patient, which made the experience even better. We will continue to return to this Thai spot in Destin/Ft. Walton as it just had the perfect curries, noodles, and pad thai in the area. "Thai hot" is actually "Thai hot" that still retains great flavor. The service can be slower than you might want, but trust that the dishes are made fresh to order so you don't want the conveyor belt of other restaurants that might have noodles premade. The exterior is modest, don't let that deter you. Parking is ample in front and it also seems they do a brisk take out service too. If you still have room (the portions are healthy) then you have to try the mango sticky rice. Perfect way to end a great meal. read more

I really liked this spot a lot. The food was very authentic. The service was also good. Our server was very nice and always checked up on us. They also have a bar section if you wanna go sit in the bar area. I tried the sausages and I liked it a lot. It has a little tang to it. Their papaya salad was also very good. Very disappointed. I was going to make tom kha gai at home, but didn't have time to get all of the ingredients, so I decided to order it instead. This soup has very little flavor and also included onion and tomato?? Why? There were also huge European mushrooms cut in half instead of Asian mushrooms, no lime leaves, and no Thai chili. Chicken breast was used instead of thigh, so the meat has absolutely no flavor either. I'm not even sure what this soup is. Thai food is supposed to be full of flavor - this is awful. The sea rangoons tasted only of sesame oil. The least Thai food, bang bang catfish, was the best dish. I ate here once before and thought it was flavorless, but decided to give it another chance because of the reviews... I will not be ordering here again. Such a large Thai population... I worked with management and staff to plan a surprise 50th wedding anniversary for my wife. The manager coordinated a menu of Thai and American dishes that was fantastic. The cook staff prepared everything perfectly in quantities to easily provide for 50 people. The wait staff ensured the food was presented in an inviting manner. There were 2 Thai restaurants beside the Tru Hotel in Fort Walton Beach and we ended up with this one. And there I was wondering how authentic this restaurant is going to be because I know for a fact that many Asian restaurants in pre-dominantly white cities hold back on spices and would come out as bland unless you do repair work by putting the spices yourself. I moved here in the US in the middle of the pandemic and a few times when I find myself in Thai restaurants I would think, is this covid? How come I could only taste salty or spicy and not the usual mix of different flavors? And much to my amazement, food was excellent and the only American about it was the serving size (yay!). Food was really great, I can't stress that enough that we were thinking about it as we drove on to our next destination. Pad Thai was a little bit on the sweet side as per my mom but it was fine for me. Curry fried rice was to die for especially when we kinda left it on its own (because we were too full!) and the rice absorbed all the curry goodness. A few days later we returned and we weren't disappointed! Unapologetically Thai, it can't get better than that. Nothing like ruining Thai food because most of the customers can't handle spice (they have an option for mild spice level, by the way) and I'm glad that didn't happen in Bangkok Bistro. My only complaint was there were dishes that automatically came with rice. This is a common practice in southeast Asia where there's an option to get a whole meal with one order but the main dish serving portion gets smaller. I don't want white Jasmine rice when I already ordered curry rice. Also, not liking the whole bar in the corner which reminded me of Silom and Patpong but I guess some people come in for drinks. Disclaimer: I'm from Southeast Asia (where Thailand is) and my expectations on Thai restaurants is not the same as most people looking for Americanized Asian fusion places like Panda Express. A little tip: when Asian waiters don't look at you straight in the eye when they talk to you, it's a sign of respect. In most Asian countries, direct eye contact is seen as being confrontational or telling that person that you both are on the same level. As a customer you are treated like you are on a higher level. In Japan they customarily bow. I almost have forgotten about this until I came back to this place. My boyfriend and I love this place! We have traveled twice from Pensacola to eat here in the past month. The food and service are always impeccable. Customer service is top notch, everyone is so friendly. The owner even did a table greet on our last visit. The atmosphere is always clean and welcoming. The food was all extremely fresh and very flavorful, their menu is extensive and I cannot wait to try the other dishes. My wife had the grilled pork, the flavor was great and a good size portion.
