As far as Thai food goes, this is a pretty standard restaurant. For a Saturday night, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. That being said, the service was slow even though the waitress was very eager to accommodate our every request despite the short staff. The food took a while to come out, but when it came it was delicious. The only warning is that the green papaya salad was very spicy. The waitress warned us, but we were not expecting the food to be as spicy as it was. Three peppers on their menu is the same as five anywhere else. For a person who regularly eats very spicy food, it left my mouth burning. Thai Basil is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Greenwich. The curry is hot (when you want it to be), vegetables fresh and service great. I frequently do take out (probably once every two weeks) and dine-in every 3 months or so. Ambiance is trendy yet very laid back. If you like noodles, the pad thai is the most authentic around and the pad-sea-eaw is awesome. Pineapple fried rice is a staple take-out dish. I also recommend the green and massamum curries. The papaya salad is hit-or-miss. I think the fried money bag appetizer is a little creepy though! read more

Right across from railroad station at the bottom of greenwich ave. gotta park on the street, avenue or in the railroad parking lot. Restaurant is small but good size with a sushi bar in the back. Very meh and inconsistent with other reviewers. Our meal missed on many levels. As an example, we ordered basil shrimp our go to. Some of the shrimp were mushy suggesting they weren't fresh, which concerned us. We've ordered for delivery many times pre pandemic and their experience has been awful. So I do no think that this particular bad instance can use pandemic as an excuse. We eat chicken marsala, edamame and green curry with chicken. Portions are bigger than Europe, smaller than Supersized American foods but these 3 were perfectly enough for two people. Marsala was 3/5 because it was sweeter than expected. Green curry was really good - adding eggplant is a really good idea and it was 4/5 (-1 point because of the intense taste of creamy coconut milk - not good for me) The staff was really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu: 5/5! This food is delicious, and I have ventured to all of the Thai restaurants in the Fairfield/Westchester area. What inspired me to write a review, however, is how awesome they cater to allergies. I have Celiac disease, and not only do they label the gluten-free items on the menu (fairly common these days) but the waitstaff is SO knowledgeable about all items on the menu and gluten allergies (very rare these days). I go here a lot with family or to meet up with friends and it's consistent and reasonably priced (as a teen it's tough to pay more than $10-$15 on lunch, and I try to avoid eating out in general unless my parents treat me). This restaurant has been here for a while by the train station. Some of the food is not amazing like noodle soups taste a bit like frozen vegetables are used, but other dishes like spicy curry are amazing, especially if you like super spicy food. The service is very nice and ambiance is good, prices are also ok, overall good experience, will come here again. read more
