The food was very good. I was very disappointed that it took 10 minutes before anyone came over to ask for our drink order. We ordered our food at the same time. It was a long wait for the food and they still had not refilled our drinks. We finally asked them to refill our drinks sometime after we received our food. They charged us for the refills and never refilled them again. Three people left a tip but I didn't. We were driving away and she ran to the car, knocked on the window and started loudly exclaiming "Why no tip? Why no tip!?". All I can say is "WOW" :-0 But the food was good. read more

Funky Thai restaurant with friendly owners/servers - and lunch time was packed. Overall, this a good place that probably lost some of its "passion" in recent times. The Tom yum shrimp was tasty but they use the tiny shrimp (frozen), instead of the plump, local shrimp. That's just lazy. The masaman curry was also flavorful, but the sauce was not thick enough. They need to let it cook down and reduce to the thick, peanut deliciousness that it should be. The prices are super reasonable, and the food comes out quick. Great little Thai restaurant in Venice - located in a small strip mall. Owned by three sisters - who all work at the restaurant. Have been to many Thai restaurants and this is our favorite. As they are very popular/busy food is always fresh. Recently became Vegan, thrilled to find that they have a large separate vegan menu! We're also oil free which they accommodate as well upon request. I even asked if I could get a Thai ice tea with coconut milk instead of cream, no problem. Love this place!! read more

I can't possibly believe how this place has only three stars. This place has truly amazing food with chefs who understand what "flavor" means - go here. I would have given it 5 stars, but it's a casual place with little atmosphere. However, the food is truly awesome and the staff are very friendly and clearly are family. My husband and I ate here last week while on vacation. We shared the cucumber salad (exceptional) and then moved on to two traditional dishes - chicken pad thai and the Volcano Chicken. The volcano chicken is so finely fried - so delicate - that it basically melts in your mouth. Probably some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I have to say this is the best place has the best Pad Thai I've had since moving to Florida. When I was living in Portland, Oregon Thai places were every where. I had to hunt for a good place to find Pad Thai(who hates doing that?!?!). I actually found this place on while looking for Vietnamese food. My GF and I were getting Pho and I saw this place across the street. I decided to get some Pad Thai last night. I was greeted right away as I entered. The servers were really polite. My to-go order was put in right away and I was able to leave with my food in less than 15 mins. I know what you're thinking. Was the food fresh? To answer that question, yes it was. Full time resident here in Venice and have been going to That Bistro since it opened. We LOVE the food, we LOVE the people, we adore Quan who stops whatever she is doing to come to our table and say hello. The complimentary soup is always supurb and the food is consistently yummy. Like most places in FL, they are busy early and roll up the sidewalks by 8:00. They took a reservation at 7:00 which was nice and we were seated right away. Got the pad tai which was average and uninteresting. One older member of our party is not the fastest eater in the world and in the course of eating her dinner, they asked about 3 times if we wanted anything else, then desert, then dropped the check on the table before she was done eating. I could almost understand this if there were a lot of people waiting, but there were open tables and I think the staff just wanted to clean up and get out by 8:00. Not cool. read more

Only been here a few times. Had Pad Thai once and Drunken Noodle. The Pad Thai was typically good. But the Drunken Noodles were AWESOME! If their lunches were a little cheaper, I'd go here more often. read more

Love Thai Bistro and I am fortunate to live a few minutes away, so I get to visit often. The owner and staff remember are wonderful. Pad Thai use to be my staple, but I have tried many things on the menu and the Thai Noodle Soup is my current addiction, quite literally. So much flavor. Other favorites of mine, all of which I recommend highly: Volcano Chicken (which you can get mild, don't worry) is insanely good, delicately fried chicken pieces with a Thai chili sauce. Pad Thai, of course. Steamed dumpling appetizer, Nam Sod salad, coconut soup,. I've brought many family members here, including my parents (my mom can't get enough Duck Pad Thai) and sisters and their families from Europe. Work and social friends. Great food and great atmosphere. The best in town. Upon entering I am greeted with a smile and was seated promptly. Service was impeccable. When water was low, our waitress was prompt to make sure we had ours filled. Appetizers came out piping hot with food served shortly behind for a smooth transition. I have been coming here for Tofu Pad Thai for years. It took me some time to find a place that made this with great flavor, right amount of heat and not greasy. Best authentic Thai food you will find. I've yet to come across a Thai restaurant even in the same caliber when it comes to just how delectable and the quality of food this place serves. The service is top notch. My husband took me here on one of our first dates 9 years ago and two kids later we still are very loyal customers. You are treated like family and their desserts are phenomenal. Thai tea and Thai coffee are amazing. Steamed dumplings are my most favorite. My husband loves the garlic and black pepper ( Thai hot, of course) with any of the meats. The crispy duck is like no other duck you ever tasted. The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. They also have good choices for beer and Thai beer (not a wine drinker). Great Experience! Our Venice Dining Club met here and it was a great place. For some us it was the first time experiencing Thai cuisine. Our waitress, Tara, did a fine job explaining the different entrees and the service was excellent. The food was superb and we all had different meals; not a complaint from anyone. Not a happy customer!! After reading everyone's Yelp about this bistro, my family & decided to order take out. We ordered pad Thai beef & chicken with egg noodles & spring rolls. To our surprise, we actually received ramen with old veggies steamed into it. The spring rolls actually the worst ever. They were sticky, old and flavorless. After spending over $65 on take out dinner, you bet I was going to voice my opinion. I called mainly to ask why their menu stated the pad Thai noodles were made with egg noodles when we received RAMEN noodles? The person on the phone explained that although their menu said egg noodles, they really mean ramen noodles. After disputing the issue, she asked if I wanted a refund. I told her I'd take all their food right back to them. Upon arriving, they looked at all the meals and then told us they couldn't refund for anything eaten. I hen told her, she made me go in there to return everything, out of my way, so I expected a refund. And besides, how else would I know their food sucked if I hadn't tried it? Either way, I just threw $65 away & tasted sucky food and never got my money back. When I mentioned I found their place on Yelp, they said the pictures and restaurant info weren't from their actual restaurant. So, I'm wondering if this is what Yelp really is, BS? Or, is the restaurant just damn liars? Or, are the ones who yelped about this place just fake yelps? Extremely disappointed. read more
